Fantasy MMORPG/Virtual Reality Group?

Hey everyone! I was thinking about organizing an MMORPG/Virtual Reality group. Basically, characters are gamers that fight monsters, level up, meet up 'IRL', or whatever scenario you want to think of. A Casual RP about whatever you like involving MMOs!


I'm thinking of implementing a Leveling system, where players are rewarded with EXP points to use for items (with certain In-Game uses), character perks (like if they want to be a shapeshifter or a werewolf or a vampire), or abilities (which will help with your leveling). The Leveling system will simply be for encouraging activity, higher-quality posts, and for getting people to interact with their fellow RPers.


There will be two tags: one for IRL RPs and another for In-Game RPs. Maybe a PVP tag in the future if people are really interested? At the end of the day, I'll tally up a character's points and players are rewarded with their EXP/Levels. I was also thinking of having Weekly or Monthly events to keep things fresh, but I don't know. Just some thoughts!


Anyway, I was wondering if anybody would be interested?

An idea that has been done before,but I have never taken part even though they always interest me. I do have a question though,what time of MMORPG will it be? Point-and-click or Action. Just kidding. Will there be classes though? Like mage, archer, thief/rogue, warrior.Or just weapons,skills,and species abilities but no class lock down?

Hahaha! Just your typical fantasy MMORPG, unfortunately! Unless people want another setting, or something even more in-depth? I'm totally open to making up a unique lore / story for the MMO environment. I'm just worried people won't pay attention to it or that it might end up limiting people. I'm hoping for something casual, after all; I want people to be able to play the characters they want to play.


As for classes, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. If I choose to use a traditional MMO, it'll be those classes you've listed: Warrior, Mage, Thief/Rogue, and Archer. What I'm leaning towards, though, is a broader class system like Melee, Magic, and Long-Range, so people will have more options to make the character they want to play.
