After much thought, I decided to revamp Gwen's Background and make it less doom and gloom.

Im thinking a humanoid empath, their race hated cause of their ability to read and manipulate emotions via magic. The empaths to are susceptible to strong emotions, if a angry mob was in range they would be overwhelmed with anger thus fuelling the mob with rage in turn making the empath....
A empath at a funeral would become a mess.

The idea based off how bards can hurt targets with vicious mockery and the idea of someone being able to say "fuck you" in a way that hurts the target aha

Basically this song mixed with the bard idea is what sparked this empath race im cooking

I have an idea of a Giant or Ogre that wants to retire into being a farmer but has been manipulated into mercenary work.

Its open but a giant and probably a ogre is to big to join the starting cast, these people are arrested in or near a town and forced into a dungeon.

Its probably to hard to arrest and force a giant underground to search for magic artefacts.

Thats fair. What would be a more suitable brute type species that you would be more open too? Perhaps a silverback gorilla that was once a familiar to a mighty criminal mage. His master was slain for his crimes and now there just this intelligent gorilla named Charles.

Humanoid animals are known as beastkin and any sort of them could fit the brute stereotype. A gorillaman is strong but still able to be targeted for discrimination by racist humans.

Ah ok i misread that initial part. Somehow read it as “im open to giants but ogres might be too big”.

Gorilla-man it is. Im scanning the other Cs’s now so ill try to make him a class that adds to the team dynamic.
