Hi there! Welcome to my 1x1 roleplay partner search thread! Here are a few facts about me before we delve into the nitty gritty!
- I am a 29-year-old in over my head in student loans and medical debt. Go USA!
- My timezone is CST (UTC-6) and I typically post after work with occasional weekend replies.
- I have roleplayed for almost twenty years. Yikes.
- I am a certified workaholic with a full-time job in eCommerce and a part-time job with a 1099 project.
- My cat, Spock, is my world. If you can’t agree that he is #1, then we cannot be friends, sorry (not sorry)
- I’ve watched more anime than I care to admit. My other hobbies are gaming and music.
- I'm INFJ-T. In other words: a naturally stressed simp.
- I have typed most of this thread three times and accidentally backed out, wanting to cry each time.
- Info
I’ve labeled this as info instead of rules because I’m honestly quite lax when it comes to roleplay. I just enjoy what I do, and can only hope you stick around and enjoy it just as much. With that being said, please read this section over and take the following into consideration before PMing me.
- First and foremost: I am ghost friendly. Yeah. Shocker, right? If you have something come up in real life or find that you’re disgustingly disinterested, then you truly have no obligation to let me know. I would appreciate a heads-up, but I won’t loathe you for all eternity if you don’t. I, on the other hand, will be giving you a heads-up if I do happen to get busy or lose interest.
- I prefer not to roleplay with anyone under the age of 21. This has more to do with maturity and comfortability than it does to do with anything else. Exceptions can be made for 18+ if you convince me, but under eighteen is a major discomfort.
- I prefer quality over quantity. My post length varies, but you can expect 500+ words on average. I really don’t expect everyone to do the same, but if you can give me at least 200 words I can typically make that work. One-liners are a no-go, and that is non-negotiable for me.
- I will typically respond to posts 1-3 times per week depending on my schedule. I don’t have a requirement for when you respond. I can handle as many roleplays as I want to fill the empty void in my heart from a lack of responses. I’d rather get your response under your best muse than get one that was forced out of you under pressure.
- I typically play male characters better but am fine with female roles. I’ll do any gender pairing under any relationship you can think of. I can double, triple, triskadekaduple. The only thing that I ask is if I am playing more than one character that you at least double.
- I don't really have limits. Having no limits does not mean I do NSFW roleplay. I will always fade to black, no exceptions.
- I do not have a preference for where we roleplay, but I will not do it over Discord or another instant messaging platform. I’m an old forum-fart. Let me be archaic in peace.
- Considering I'm looking for a long-term roleplay partner, I would like some OOC chat here and there. I won't force you to chat with me or get overly personal, but hearing about each other's day every now and then would be nice, no?
- Plots
These are a few of my personal plots that I am particularly craving right now. If you do not see one that interests you, please feel free to message me your own! I love seeing other people's plots! Anything on here is also completely up for discussion and doesn't have to ever go word for word as described.
This plot appears to take place in a modern setting with nine people. I can fill most of these roles until they become irrelevant. Of these nine, two would be our main characters. There is a tenth character that is highly relevant later in the setting, but his identity is otherwise unknown. Known simply as "the nine", these individuals find themselves joining each other in locked lucid dreams that only seem to lift after a green mist surrounds them and wakes them. These nine individuals seem to also be the only ones who notice sectors of people within a large city disappear without a trace.
In the next dream state, the remaining nine are finally engulfed in the green mist, but instead of waking to the modern world, they "wake up" in a ruin-like forest covered with tree-like pods. This new world is slowly revealed to be a more "true reality" whereas the modern world they remembered was revealed to be their actual dream state.
This plot requires a lot of DMing on my part which I am more than excited and prepared to do. I do have planned adversaries, encounters, and major plot twists involved that could really go any which way we decide, but this is a large portion of the plot idea.
Your character can be anything you wish but must be “human-washed” in the dream state. Meaning they will appear human in the dream world and lucid dreams, but once they are released into the Everwoods, you can have them be an elf, orc, shapeshifter, vampire, etc. That's really put to you.
Dragons have long been used as instruments of war, a fact which has led to the near extinction of their kind throughout centuries of endlessly raging wars between the East and West Kingdoms of the world.
Tamers are raised with an enchanted amulet engraved by an ancient druid which has given them the power to subdue the beasts and inevitably bond and ride them. Only seven of these amulets are left, one of which belongs to my character. My character chose to bond with his dragon in an unorthodox way, earning a respect among his dragon that transcended the power of the amulets. His amulet was instead given to the dragon to wear, which allowed it to turn into human form. Your character is that dragon. The two work together to end the raising and training of the remaining dragons in an attempt to save them from extinction.
This is an alternative plot based in the same world as The Heir of Dragon Fire.
Your character, a priest/ess in charge of healing a captured and injured dragon from the opposing kingdom, must work together with my character to rehabilitate the dragon back into the system. My character’s methods of training and bonding with the dragon are seen as harsh and immoral. Your character attempts to change his harsh training regime and perhaps soften his heart in the process.
A group of archeologists uncovered the terrifying truth behind Pompeii. Once believed to be an example of nature’s wrath, there was much more to the burial of the town. After digging up a series of old runes within the volcanic burial ground, seven beings rose from the ashes: Wrath, Pride, Envy, Lust, Glutton, Greed, and Sloth. Embodiments of the Seven Deadly Sins now run amok throughout the world. Greed and Sloth went about their own paths, but the remaining five formed a group known as The Hand. Their objectives? Unknown.
With them, five elemental mysteries occurred all over the world. Raging fires. Flurries of tornadoes. Rampant lightning strikes. Rolling tsunamis. Rippling earthquakes. In the aftermath of these elemental events, five stones were left behind with powers hidden within to control their respective nature. Our characters are wielders of two of these stones, tasked with bringing down The Hand and sealing them within the ashes of Pompeii once gain. - Fandoms

The knock would come suddenly and unexpectedly, but Mitsuda would not budge. In fact, his eyes wouldn’t even flicker. The man sat in a chair of stone, his bare feet flexed on the cool ground, his arm lazily holding his head upward. The door was within view. He could hear a voice calling from the other side, and the second word spoken already had the man more uninterested in his guest than he was just seconds before. Mistuda allowed for a few moments to pass by before lifting the palm of his hand from the stone slab of the side of his chair. From under his robe, a white snake would slither outward, continuing to show its length and coming from seemingly nowhere.
It would slither down his body and to the floor and then make its way to the door. Using the muscle of its natural core, the snake would lift itself, wrap around the door’s handle and open it enough to give the Hyuuga visitor a gesture to enter. The snake would then let go. If Shigure were to enter, the snake would be at his feet, its body easily six inches at its thickest point. It would ignore the Hyuuga’s presence, and slither away, back to its host where it resided. Mitsuda did not lift himself, but he stared at the door with such intensity, that chakra would possibly be palpable upon entry to the hut, or perhaps blood lust.
Mitsuda wouldn’t say he was surprised by the unexpected visit. It was bound to happen sooner or later. It seemed that whenever a new heir came into play or someone with more knowledge than they should about the defect’s situation, they liked to stick their nose into places it didn’t belong. This Shigure didn’t seem to be the exception to the rule. As Mitsuda had done in the past, he would hear this heir out. If anything, it amused him to watch them squirm with their words of sincerity. What would it be this time around? An apology? Laughable.
Red and white eyes would watch if, or when, Shigure decided to enter, his half-open slits posturing as if to ask the heir what he wanted, and why he felt he was even worth Mitsuda’s time. The walls of his hut flickered with light, the embers of a small fire dancing tribally on the cobblestone walls. The embers licked at the brick of the fireplace, teasing them, and turning them blacker over the years. The stone chair sat opposite another, and a bed of snakes curled lazily between the two. Mitsuda lived a mostly simple life, though the air within his home had a very natural feel while still maintaining a high level of cleanliness and warmth. Very little to no belongings were strung about. A kettle pot sat on the stove, steaming just barely from the neck as it prepared itself for brewing.
The inside of his hut was much more substantial than the outside would have others believe. Mitsuda preferred his isolated home in the woods of Konoha. He hated the bustling of the city, and even more so he hated the frequent guests. Very few knew where his home even was, and that was how he preferred it. Sensory ninja had found it by accident from time to time and wondered in to find who would be living so far away from the core of the village but would slink away as soon as they realized it was the Snake Sage’s home. The last time someone dared enter his home, his scroll was stolen. The thought still angered Mitsuda, and it was partially the reason he was even more adamant about keeping his home so much farther than typical. It wouldn’t happen again.
Uncommon for Mitsuda, he would quickly lose his patience if the Hyuuga took too long. "And what makes you think this…Mistuda…even wants to see the likes of the Hyuuga clan?” The Sage would tilt his head menacingly, sinking further into the stone chair. "Choose your next words wisely, boy. I’ve already given you more time than I usually allow.”
