Minimum Ability Requirements on Crafting Artifacts/Manses

Ok, so how about this as a compromise.  Specialties count for ability minimums, but only if it meets the crafting type (i.e. a specialty in Craft:Fire Swords won't help you meet the minimums for building armor).  For anything extreme like bio-genesis, magitech, etc., you use the sciences (which I really fraggin love the idea of, all props Wordman!  Pure Genius!).  Otherwise, artifacts add dice, can be used to meet requirements (to a degree), but doesn't count for dice pool additions.  Further, for a character to be freely crafting Artifact 5 quality gear, they must be at least Essence 6+, and 7 for N/A while capable of achieving minimum requirements.


Do you guys think that would be a fair compromise to the player(s)?
 
It does sound rather fair to me. But you may want to talk this over with your Players.  8)
