Fandom Minecraft: Humanity's Safe Haven LORE/CHARACTERS

MoonMidnight

Junior Member
BACKGROUND:

After the big ice age, humanity made a run for the only warm place: The Nether. They carved out farms deep into the nether wrack but their main source of food came from their animal farms. They had cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and rabbits. Fortunately for them, wood was easy enough to grow because it didn’t require water, merely dirt and some bonemeal. They sent out Scouts to claim bits of land, followed by Builders who created massive, protected fortresses. They became organized and their death tolls steadily decreased. They became a force to be reckoned with. However, this unfortunately came to an end. The Nether wasn’t giving up so easily and soon enough the fortresses were overrun by Blazes, Wither Skeletons, Zombie Pigmen, and more. It felt like they were back where they started.

Their ruler, Prince Rei, was not ready to give up either. After many generations, it was time to go back to their true home. He assembled the perfect Scout team - the best from each division - and built the first portal in over a century. He gave this scout team one specific instruction:

BUILD HUMANITY A SAFE HAVEN. DO not, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, RELITE THIS PORTAL UNTIL YOU HAVE BUILT ONE.

****************************************************************************

DIVISIONS:
(You will pick which division your character will be from)

Builder:
After the fortresses were overrun, work began on a new fortress that would be better protected and safer for humanity to live in. There are not many architect builders nowadays, given that there’s not much need for them anymore, but there are many other Builders who endlessly mine for days to provide as much building material as they can. Some of these miners go with Scouts to gather more or new materials.

You are the next master builder of your generation and after years of studying the history of humanity’s builds, you are the right one to build a perfect, defendable, and livable safe haven.

Warrior Defender:
One of the most important roles humanity needs: protection. As the scouts go out to claim more land and discover hidden secrets of the Nether, more threats continue to rise and challenge those at ‘home’. Despite how bright lava pools and lakes can be, the Nether still remains dark enough for the undead to spawn. Though these Defenders are quick to eliminate threats, they must also be precise and careful, for a single mistake could have the Zombie Pigmen overrunning their walls. Even now they still manage to slip inside somehow. These defenders must be able to remove such a neutral threat without angering it.

You are the Captain of the Defenders so you are perfect for making sure the safe haven can be protected.

Warrior Scout:
The quickest and most agile fighters. These warriors can get out of any sticky situation and still manage to regroup after getting lost for hours on end. They can never truly be anchored to one spot and have a thirst for danger. Though their loyalty remains ever tied to humanity and Prince Rei, for they are out discovering and claiming new land to make humanity better off. Need something done? Call a Scout. Stuck in a bad situation? Call a Scout. Need someone to bounce bad ideas off of? Call a Scout. Even when humanity took a nosedive after the fortress invasions, Scouts still work hard to reclaim their lost land.

You hold a reputation of the best Scout Leader who can claim land the fastest and keep their team together. You have never lost someone on your team, naturally making you the perfect one for Prince Rei to pick.

Healer:
What happens when you’ve reached three hearts? What happens when you feel sick? What happens when you need a drink that’ll make fire unable to burn you? The healer is the answer to all. There are not many healers but those that exist do their job well. They know recipes like the back of their hand and help make this hell-is lifestyle a little more bearable when you’re feeling sick. However, don’t go to a Healer for empathy. They are much too wrapped up in dealing with stupid, everyday little mishaps to care about how you’re feeling. They care only for the physical body and what they can provide for the Scouts. Therapy is better left to the Farmers.

You are the best Healer when it comes to potions and your young mind makes you eager to discover more and take more risks.

Farmer:
They are the most patient out of everyone. With nothing to do but sit around and wait for seeds to grow or baby animals to become adults, they will gladly sit and listen to a problem you have, and maybe even provide some feedback and advice. They are not very mobile or open to running since they’re so used to standing or sitting for hours on end. They are the life givers, the food providers, the empaths. Many can find it hard to be a farmer, hence why they are as few as the Healers, but everyone remains ever grateful to those who dedicate their lives to watching plants grow.

You are the next Head of Farmers. You know how to properly ration and divide food and is known for being the best person to go to with a problem. You are one of Prince Rei’s closest friends which is why, with a heavy heart, he has chosen you to be a part of the Scout. He knows you will keep the peace.

My list:

1-2. Warrior Scout/Warrior Defender (I like them the same amount)
3. Builder
4. Healer
5. Farmer

Honestly I don't mind any of these roles and will be fine playing any of them if needed.

Also I much prefer a Discord Chat/Server

1. Farmer
2. Warrior-scout
3. Builder
4. Healer
5. Warrior-defender

Character Type: Builder
Name: Megilagor Stroudhammer
Nickname: Gilly
Age: 29
Gender: Male

Body build: Muscular and athletic
Eye color: Deep blue
Height: 190cm/ ~6.2 ft
Hair color: Brown
Clothing: Beige tunic, green vest with long sleeves, leather boots & leather carrypack[bundle], fingerless gloves, navy pants.
Markings: Multiple scars on arms from accidents at work.

Temperament: Megilagor at first glance appears as an unfriendly antisocial giant, whose only love is his work to the point of ignoring others and even his own needs. But his proper temperament is furthest from this statement, yeah he might be tall, and overly focused on his work to the point of neglect, and yes he might appear antisocial but that is caused by his shyness of others ridiculing him for his voice. Hence, he rarely speaks but he does lend a shoulder to cry on and his ears to listen to stories and worries of others just not while he is working. His voice is booming and deep, something that is inherited in his family line along with their height albeit he is still the smallest one from his family.
Hobbies: Crafting, Building, Drawing up blueprints for his ideas, Drawing people and landscapes,
Habits: Gets in the zone and experiences tunnel vision when building. Rarely speaks but when he does it's either really quiet or really loud speech not in between.
Fears: Not being able to fulfil his promise to a dead friend. Disappointing his family. Wasting away. Being useless.
Strengths: Great builder and architect. Good at drawing. Ample amount of strength and stamina, with a ridiculous amount of endurance, to the point of being able to work nonstop for a few days without much rest.
Weaknesses: Doesn't talk much. A bit clumsy when it comes to anything other than gathering materials and building.
Hope/desire: To explore the world, to build a great monument in fascinating places.
Gear: Full set of stone tools[ pickaxe, axe, shovel], flint and steel, golden helmet and leather boots, a bundle with some random materials from nether [netherrack, soulsand, mushrooms]

Background/history:
While Megilagor couldn’t exactly trace his family line to before the ice age for before that time his people were nomads wandering around the world not settling down anywhere, they only settled down shortly before the ice age and they became the people of the Prince.

His people were known for being big and bulky so most often than not they were given the role of guardians and builders, while they might be the slow cause of their size they sure packed a punch and carried their load. As Stroudhammers joined the rest of humanity into the Nether they were mostly given the role of the defenders and scouts.

Megilagor [each member of the family is named by three people, both of their parents and the eldest member of the clan] was born a few generations within the Nether. Even as a child, Megilagor stood out within his family while he wasn’t the youngest for he had 2 younger sisters, he sure was the shortest of them all, after all the average member of his family was around 2 meters tall some even reached up to 2.5 meters, making them the same height as wither skeletons, and yet he never grew taller than 1.9m.

Either way during his earlier years Gilly used to always go around with pieces of paper and some coal so he can draw, people, places or even buildings that would fit into the local landscape. He sometimes even showed his drawings to his family and the builders who would gladly give him a pat on the head for his drawings.

Knowing that Gilly didn’t possess a spark for combat his family raised him to be a builder, which he happily partook in. While he might not have been the greatest of builders in the kingdom he sure was the most resilient one, often working day and night to build what was needed to be built even going out of his way to go gather the materials himself.

Recent news of the Prince's order upon which a team of specialists would be sent back to the Overworld to claim its lands for the kingdom. At first, he wasn't interested in joining such a team but then he remembered the stories of the elders about how the Overworld looked, then he found his spark. The spark of curiosity for the new world and the possibilities of buildings brand new things. So he quickly packed his things and went out to join the said team. Now he stood before a purple portal made out of obsidian with a single thought in his mind. “Where will it take us?”

Character Type: Warrior Defender
Name: Emeril Langstan
Nickname: Emy, Emerald
Age: 30
Gender: Nonbinary (answers to any pronouns, uses They/Them in writing)

Body build: Muscular and Adrogynous
Eye color: Green
Height: 5'6"
Hair color: Golden-brown
Clothing: A set of golden armor and a short cape bearing the symbol of the kingdom. Outside of the armor (for the sake of the expedition) a thick grey coat over a yellow-beige tunic, dark grey pants and thick boots. They also have an iron locket with a genuine emerald on it.
Markings: A small burn mark on their back, birthmark on arm that all Langstans have

Temperament: Emeril acts like your typical paragon or main hero. They are optimistic, virtuous, strong, and just a tad bit silly. They do their job well and it takes something drastic to make them angry or upset.
Hobbies: Polishing their gear, collecting rocks, dancing
Habits: Looks to their locket for support, laughs very loudly
Fears: Disappointing/Failing their peers, others getting hurt because of their actions, birds
Strengths: Endless optimism, swordplay mastery, charisma,
Weaknesses: Tries to shoulder too many burdens, can be seen as a doofus, not stealthy
Hope/desire: To leave a positive mark on the world
Gear: Full set of golden armor, a gold sword, a backup stone sword from a wither skeleton, a shield with the kingdoms emblem, a glass bottle (for potions)

Minecraft Skin (optional): (Maybe when I get my laptop back)

Background/history: Emeril could trace their family line all the way back to before the ice age. Their family was a prolific mining family, known as the best miners who could find the most ore out of anyone else. As the Langstans joined the rest of humanity into the Nether they were still doing work in the mines, even if they didn't get as much as they used to.

Emeril (it was tradition in the family to have names inspired by ores and stone) was born after many generations within the Nether. Even as a child, Emeril knew that they didn't want to become a miner. They felt they could be something more.

One day, while playing with their siblings, they encountered a Magma Cube. It managed to slip by the guards watch and get into the fortress they were staying at. Emeril fought the Magma Cube with the same sticks they and their siblings were playing with. They didn't smite the beast, but it gave their siblings enough time to find a guard to come and dispatch the Magma Cube. Though they were initially scolded for fighting the Cube, the guard saw potential in Emeril to become a warrior. After talking with their parents about this, Emeril began training to become a guard.

Emeril took to this training like a fish to water and grew rapidly in their training. Soon, they were given tasks not only to defend the fortresses, but also to go out to help the scouts conquer more land for the kingdom. Eventually, this lead to them becoming Captain of the Royal Guards.

Recently, the Prince has tasked them to take a group of specialists to be the first people to venture back into the Overworld and claim it for the kingdom. Eager to please the Prince and curious about his ancestors homeland, Emeril readily accepted this task. What lies past that purple portal? They can't wait to find out! (As long as it's not more birds. Chickens are enough.)

Character Type: Healer

Name: Asher MagCream
Nickname: Ash
Age: 26
Gender: female

Body build: Slender
Eye color: Bright blue
Height: 5’5
Hair color: Red
Clothing: Beneath her deep blue, inherited Healer’s Cape, she wears all black, save her brown boots, and light arm guards on both arms. Attached at her hip is a pouch of blaze powder, glow stone dust, redstone dust, and a few ghast tears. She always has a knife hidden somewhere. Around her neck sits a necklace with a Magma Cube charm to signal her family heritage.
Markings: her only scars, large pink burn marks, are hidden beneath her sleeves and arm guards. She refuses to talk about it.

Temperament: Quick. She can jump from zero to sixty in seconds if provoked just right. Usually she has a very quiet, hidden air to her but if agitated, she makes it known to everyone. It usually takes some time for her to calm down. Despite this temper, her first train of thought is always safety. She will be nurturing until the healing is done, in which case a sharp lecture, and perhaps a few whacks, follows after.

Hobbies: Reading. She is often found in the library hidden well beneath the surface reading up on Old World recipes or history. She loves a good story. Other times she is found practicing archery.

Minecraft Skin (optional): Coming soon

Background/history:

Just like the others, Ash belongs to a clan. The Healer Clan wasn’t the biggest before the Ice Age, but they were the most diverse. Their families were recognized by a potion’s recipe: MagCream (Magma Cream), Melering (Glistening Melon), RabFoot (rabbit’s foot), etc. They all specialized and had abundance of resources for their family’s recipe. All healers were still required to know every recipe.

Many of the families were overrun and crowded by refugees from the Ice Age. Many of them were lost to the cold and only a few made it through the portal. Even in their new home, the few that lived slowly lost their family line as their recipe could no longer be crafted. The Blazes, Melerings, Ghasts, MagCreams, and Garrots are the only families to still exist today.

Healers are devoted to their craft, now more than ever, and not a single family member is allowed to have any other profession. Keeping their family line is an important task which falls to the youngest of each family. They don’t become intimate with other clans, a new law since entering the Nether, and it’s a battle to be the best, for your family to be the best.

Ash’s family had rarely made it to the top. The Blaze’s and Ghast’s always had children who became the Master Healer. Ash’s family never pushed her to do well and for many years she hated being forced to be a healer at all (she yearned to be a Defender). However, after an opportunity came to go with a Scout group, unbeknownst to everyone with the future best Scout Leader, she found a sudden interest in being needed. So, she climbed her way up the ladder and became the first MagCream to become Master Healer, and the first ever to be given that title under the age of 30.

After the Prince requested a Master Healer for the Scout expedition, everyone named Ash as the best fit. She had only held her title for a year, but she was more capable to handle the challenges than their previous Master who was withering away with age.

“This was what my life was leading up to, I won’t let anyone down.”

Markings: A slash on the side of their face

Temperament: on the surface, Onyx seems to be more air-headed, and down-right oblivious, but in reality, Onyx is actually very smart, being able to come up with strategies in an instant. They Are very social, usually seen talking with others a lot. However, it gets distracted very easily in some situations, and is horrible with social etiquette, and have a horrible sense of their own self-worth

So they had a legacy to uphold, and 2 other siblings to compete with, all of them fighting and clawing their way to the top, just to get their father's pride. Because father didn't care for them, unless they could beat their siblings, and prove that they are better. And so, Onyx fought, doing anything they could grasp at, even the tiniest thing, they'd go for. But it never was enough, for them. They never believed that they ever worked hard enough, never did much. Even when they were the best of the best of scout leaders, and every mission felt the exact same to them.

That was, until, they were summoned to the prince's call, and given one of the biggest jobs they were ever given: To scout out the overworld, and create humanity's first safe-haven in a long time there.
