Mikkjr's Dark Times

I look towards the hills in fear

"Get ready! To arms!" I shout. I think that their must be an army of thousands of men over the hills.

I mount my horse, and ride to the hills, with my horsemen following.

You and your horsemen witniss not an army of man, but of beast. You see in front of you a wild herd of Oliphant. Many of your men are trembling in fear at the sight alone.

I gaze from the hills at the massive herd of oliphants.

I can feel their stomping from afar. Their power astounds me, I have only heard tales of beasts this size from childhood. They're said to live south in the unknown lands, but it looks like they're migrating north.

I turn to Nergui and say, "Imagine fighting an army of those things" and chuckle. Then I stop and think, what if I controlled an army of oliphants?

I would be unstoppable!

I would be feared!

I turn to Nergui again and say "Let's see if they can be tamed."

"Tamed?" Nergui says, pausing. "You have the great riders omen, perhaps this is fate.." He says.

You gather your best riders, and tell them what you have to offer. They say that they could mount great baskets on their backs, and use them like moving fortresses. But, this would take a long time, up to a year at the very least.

If such actions would be taken, it would be a good idea to also begin building more permanent structures.

"Alright. We shall build a settlement here at the river's end."

Whilst we are constructing the village, we will have men attempt to tame one of the beasts. We will build fortifications later.

We set up tents to stay in until the housing is constructed.

Housing is one of the many problems facing your new settlement. You have near six hundred people, and twice as many horses. Also, you will require special saddles and a place to make them to create such things for the beast. Your chief architect, a old man who was a tribe elder his compiled a list of what you will need, and how many resources it will require.

  • 175 Wooded Huts - 2,500 Trees 5,000 Tons of Rock
  • 30 Long Stables - 3,000 Trees 2,000 Tons of Rock
  • 10 Storage Rooms - 2000 Trees 1000 Tons of Rock
  • 3 Wood Cutters Post - 1000 Trees
  • 1 Quarry - 1000 Trees
  • 1 Great Hall - 750 Trees 750 Tons of Rock

Nearby is a large forest and upstream is a fine source of rock, which could be boated down the river on rafts.

It's estimated to set up the resource collectors will take two weeks.

Current Resources

  • 2,500 Lumber
  • 0 Tons of Rock

Needed Resources

  • 9,250 Trees
  • 8,750 Tons of Rock

The work on the cutter posts is rather quick, and will take about a week estimates the architect. The quarry on the other hand will take three.

Currently, you have five months before winter, your advisers recommend that you focus on housing first, after the resource builds of course.

[TIME SKIP]

Skip until after the resource buildings are done?

Your resource buildings are constructed later then expected, it has taken two weeks.

Current Time Until Winter

4 Months, 2 Weeks

You are producing enough goods to start working on huts. To finish all of them it will take around four months. Continue?

[TIME SKIP]

You can skip through 2 Months
