The stats don't particularly matter if your not interested in fighting. The stats are nice little extra lore detail. It also sets limits if characters decide to get into a combat scenario. Optional, but if they do, stats set a limit on what characters can and cannot do.

So for the most part, it's just fun side information. Kinda like knowing a character's birthday even though the character will likely never see their birthday in RP.
