Sun Clan
Mood: anxious
status: preparing the kingdom for its first royal meeting.

The sun was reaching its highest point and the waters began to warm. It was mid-spring and the ocean was busy with excitement. The whales had just migrated through a couple of weeks ago and the winter guard had taken this time to rest and recuperate. The palace was busy with preparations. Despite there thoughts on the Moon Clan , the Sun Clan always tries to make a good impression during these meetings. Food has always been tricky and usually takes days to prepare. It was no feast by any means, but moons' do not partake in dishes and preparations. They catch it, they eat it. Obviously there will be no live creature eating today.

It has been over a year since the clans' rulers have had a meeting. This meeting was mandatory. The suns' were usually aware of who the future rulers were going to be. But since the moon clan did not believe in birth rights there is little to no knowledge of who the future king/queen is until they are announced, a first impressions was called for. No one really knew what to except from these meetings. After the disappearance of Queen Esther everyone was hopeful of the future. No one could be worse than her, and its rumored that this new queen was young. Young was good, perhaps she would not be as stubborn as most of them are. The king did raise concern. King Likota was older, meaning that the previous king and queen had made quite an impression on him. Either way the sun clan was optimistic. They had survived the worse and believed in there new king and Queen to guide them towards the rising sun.

King Kyoya
Mood : relaxed
status: Relaxing in his chambers

Gan
Mood: busy
status: tending to the orcas

She was glad to be back, the warm waters were comforting. She had expected to find an absolute mess in the arctic region, there was no more than usual. At the moment she was checking the charms for corruption. Sun Clan do not usually sea creatures in there everyday endeavors, not wanting to upset the balance of nature. Sometimes though nature provides a beautiful opportunity. There were twelve orcas that accompanied the guard on migrations. These beast were orphaned calves with no pod and no chance of survival on there own. It was King Kyoya's bloodline that started this practice ages ago. Orcas have a higher resistance to dark magic second only to mermaids. Even still they must be checked for any signs of corruption. There were eight taken this time, three more than normal. And the winter guard was examining them carefully before allowing them to go join the others.

Moon Clan
Mood: fearful
status: Gathering for the departure of the King and Queen
It was midday, meaning that most the clan was out surveying warm waters. For those that were remaining in there true form they gathered themselves in the large hidden cave system that the moons' called home. Guards were in place in the neighboring reefs, but it was everyones duty to alert anyone of signs of outsiders. Some of the more adventurous younger mermaids have ventured off to the outskirts of there territory to the explore the sunken ships. It was a quiet day families and friends reuniting a and saying there goodbyes. Workers were always on the move, there duties usually meant sometimes following around sea creatures and ships for days. This was not always the case, moons' had an intimate connection with the ocean's inhabitants, just like the suns' connection with their magic. They could tell if something was off, and instinctually knew where to go or what to do.

Queen Kiva
Mood: calm
Status: in the ruins

Kiva sat upon the rocks of what was left of the structure, looking out at the ocean through a window. This place was comforting, she did not know why. The royals were often left alone , most commoners were satisfied with watching from afar. When Kiva came here, even before the crowning, it was clear that she did not want to be bothered. Of course no workers have approached her anyway. She chuckled, thinking about what her mother would have done if a common merperson approached her wanting to chat. The thought tickled her immensely and she began to laugh to herself, probably surprising the poor guard that accompanied her. This behavior was never seen with Queen Esther, but Kiva was younger than the previous ruler. She would never do this in public, but even though she was not entirely by herself, she did feel alone here.

Guard Constantine
Mood: Alert
Interaction: Open

The brute flicked his tail casually, his eyes closing and hiding his dark brown eyes. The beast was surprisingly on high alert with his tail cutting evenly through the water. Constantine resembled the beastly orcas, fine creatures fit for all sorts of things. A long glaive was kept in a tight grip in his hand, often casting a glance behind him and over his shoulder when he did open his brown hues eyes. The merman had been throwing the occasional glance at the mermaid he was tasked with protecting while within the ruins. Constantine had a gruff appearance with his jaw set firmly, while his eyes flicked over towards his Queen on more than one time. Truthfully he was doing so when he heard some sort of amused giggling rang out in the tides. It was odd hearing someone of such a rank casually laughing, this was the queen, the one to be chosen by Queen Esther! Constantine was tempted to ask if she was alright, though he refrained from doing so as it could be considered as out of line, before long he repositioned himself flicking his eyes over the ruins.

PLUTO of MOONCLAN
MOOD: Bored, Slightly Twitchy
INTERACTION: Currently Available

Pluto's soft grey eyes took a cast over to the open part of the sunken ship. An old wooden boat sheltered the merman for the time being. It had a gaping hole that ripped the front of the boat off, a possible result of the crash that had drowned it and all of its human passengers, or at least that's what Pluto assumed. It was pretty worn down, too. It was quite obvious that it had been there for a long, long time. The whole thing was laced in algae and other bottom feeders who were using it as a shade from the sun. A fish or two poked out from here or there, but none that wanted to greet the merpeople that had decided to inhabit the place whilst waiting for the orders of their queen. In the center of the large ship, Pluto sat at a table with three other men. Little thinly cut tablets lay in front of them on a flat rock they had picked up from outside, and each tablet had a little engravement on it. The mermaid's creative way of making a card game, and a trick that Pluto was quite good at. He was already beating the group of older mermen at their own game, and his eyes glimmered in success. No one could top his talent at games such as these ones, but even so something was missing from it. A feeling of thrill, excitement maybe? Nothing could give him that rush, especially not in the Poseidon-forsaken boat they were sitting in.

Word had gotten around of a royal meeting in Sunclan, and that concept intrigued Pluto's attention much more than a game he was destined to win at. He would do anything to leave the stuffy boat, too, really.

Pluto's eyes wandered from the game as he placed down his final card, one that caused an orchestra of annoyed groans to follow suit. A very clear sign that Pluto won the game already, so soon into it. Now what would he do with his free time?

His eyes wandered to any guards that might have been in the area. Surely if he tried to do something, someone would intervene?

DELPHINUS of SUNCLAN
MOOD: Neutral
INTERACTION: Gan, Dumplingboy Dumplingboy

Delphinus took her hand to the skin of one of the orcas that had accompanied her and the other winter guards on their trip. It warmed up at the faint caress, and the heat generated at her palm was greeted with a soft purr from the orca. These creatures were so strong, and it was relieving to be able to swim with the friends during the trips through the ocean. Orcas made great company, and since their resistance was up they were granted permission to travel with the winter guard during migrations.

Still, Dephinus turned to look over at the oldest member of Sunclan, Gan. The elder was busy checking charms for traces of dark magic. They always had to be on high alert, especially since they traveled through the most dangerous territory that the merfolk claimed. It was always heartbreaking to have to take the life of creatures born in the dark oceans to continue order between magic. Some magic brought good magic such as Delphini's heating abilities, but others always brought with them destruction.

Delphinus removed herself from the calm orca to swim over to Gan, peering over the elder's shoulder at a charm.

Kaialyn - Moon Clan
Mood: Peaceful
Interaction: Open

Kaia smiled softly as she tucked her fathers staff back inside its nook in her chambers. Practicing his training techniques was one her favorite pastimes since her parents departure. "I'll make you proud Father, I promise." She whispered before turning to leave her small cave.
Swimming down the north cave passage, Kaia hummed lightly as she neared the sunken ships. She didn't swim far from the caves exit, choosing a sheltered spot near the opening to relax on a smooth rock. As she lay there, Kaia watched a group of baby sea turtles chasing each other around the ships mast not too far away. Her gaze traveled across the algae covered ship, knowing other young merfolk would be playing inside, she had a small desire to join them but pushed the feeling aside as she wouldn't know their games anyhow. As she gazed across the waters, she began to softly sing a poem she learned from her mother.

"Do you know a life of loneliness and one filled with pain,
living a life with nothing to gain,
Surrounded by darkness, overwhelmed with shame.
A life without peace with no one to blame.

Do you know of a place unseen,
A place that holds only shattered dreams,
A place filled with sorrow with no end in sight,
I am given this gift each and every night.
"

King Likota of the Moon Clan
Mood: Absent
Interactions: Open!

Likota had been up for majority of the morning as usual. Taking his time as to wander out from his own chamber within the cavern system. Rarely did he venture out from the cavern system unlike the youngsters, he'd sometimes worn them off, but of course the young will be young. Slowly making his way through, he nodded and wave to a few of the commoners and the workers of his people, sitting himself down within the center of the caverns to watch over his people. Today was a new day in his mind, despite the way the Clan currently was.

Queen Kiva
mood: somber/frighten
status: In the ruins

Queen Kiva's laughter faded, the memory of her mother brought both comfort and pain. Don't cry, hold it together...you can do this. Kiva hid her face in her lap, she missed her, Queen Esther was the only thing she loved, her only source of happiness and she was gone. Queen Esther's departure had left everyone feeling remorseful, most felt as though left to soon, Kiva believed that she left the fate of the clan in wrong hands. She was nothing like her mother, her mother was strong she never needed magic to prove that. Kiva was young, and unable to defend herself. She was always to be guarded, ever since she could remember she was constantly being protected. What about her was so special, her mother said that she alone could bring the sun clan to its knees, but how? She lifted her head just in time to see a disoriented tiger shark darting towards them. The queen let out a scream falling down unto the sand bed as the disturbed sharked rammed into the glass window. Animals were never really fond of there kind, to sea creatures these mermaids were either competition or predator. For a shark to come out of its way to show aggression could only be the result of dark magic.

Gan
mood: annoyed
status: in conversation
Gan let out a heavy sigh to express her annoyance at the curious mermaid. "I have been given the honor in being present as ceremonially guard for todays events." She turned around shoving the charm into Delphinus's hand. " I have better things to do, you will go in my place. Its not hard just stand outside the meeting hall and try not to kill the Moon clans guard." Gan spoke so nonchalant about the most respected role a guard could ever have. It was the highest honor the court could ever stow upon a guard, the only thing that could be more important was being in charge of the purity charm. "Also make sure the purity charm is given to the King or Queen. I was suppose to bring it to them so they could infuse it with there magic, but I honestly can't be bothered." She released the last of the orca to rejoin his friends. "Do not follow me, you re already giving me a headache" Gan was swimming away, no one really knew where she wondered off too, and no one asked her either.

Guard Constantine
Mood: Protective, Apologetic
Interaction: Queen Kiva, Shark

The had turned one, leaving himself staring at his queen for a long moment. Something felt off with her, she was so young and saddened by something. Constantine had an inkling that her sadness towards Queen Esther's disappearance was deeper than that of the clan. He thought over how much he had been distraught over the loss of his pod, his brothers, he could tell she might feel similar pain as he did. Turning away, he focused his gaze on the ruins when he heard the echoed and dulled noise of glass shattering and a scream. The orca tailed merman spun around in the tide, his brown eyes darkening as his fist tightened around the staff part of his glaive. He had no real sense of the situation until he had reached his queen. Constantine gave the tiger shark a glance over before slicing his glaive through the water. He had positioned himself in front of Queen Kiva, sending a few slices through the current before making a final jab at the underwater beast. There was no real need to shift his body, he found that if he was intimidating enough the creatures would back off and when he noticed the striped shark did not retreat he quickly cut the beast down. The brute had narrowed brown eyes, it had been infected. Even as he watched the red liquid drift away, his glare never stopped following it until he turned to face Queen Kiva, "Your Highness, I'm sorry I was not here sooner," he quickly drifted down into a formal bowing dip with his weapon propped up. They were close enough to the ground so his black and white tail fin dug into the ground of the ruins.

DELPHINUS of Sunclan
Mood: Shocked
Interaction: None

Delphini's shock could be seen by her big blue eyes. She stared after the senior guard, scared. The little mute mermaid held the charm that was shoved into her hands the same way it had been handed to her. She stared as Gan's figure loomed away.

Delphinus scared herself out of the shock, fiddling with the charm in her hand. She swam in a quiet panicked circle, squealing only when the charm slipped from her hands. She caught it mid-water, clutching it firmly in her hand as to not lose it.

The mermaid turned around, searching for Gan's figure so that she could try to reason with the warrior but it was no where to be seen. Did she really just hand over all of her responsibilities to me and then leave? What am I supposed to do? The girl took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Only Gan would do this. Delphinus never really had the pleasure of meeting the senior warrior, but now that she did the pink mermaid could understand why she was written off as unapproachable. Even Delphini's innocent silence seemed to put Gan in a bad mood. How so, the pink haired mermaid could never answer.

The girl's ears twitched. What am I supposed to do now, then? She wondered, looking toward the direction of the castle. Gan briefly mentioned that the charm was meant to be brought to the king or the queen, so Delphinus decided to try to start there. Hopefully they wouldn't be opposed to her doing it rather than their honored guard, but the girl would do her best to explain.

Delphinus turned to start swimming back to the castle, going as fast as she could with what little current she had.

large2.jpgQueen Anemone

| Clan: Sun | sex: Female | age: 102| main task: Queen| location: Her chambers

Anemone stretched her arms above her head, pulling them back down with a yawn as she looked into her giant mirror. She leaned forward and looked into it, as she did, she pulled her hand up gently tracing her multicolored scaling along her upper eye. A strand of her ruby red hair floated down from her for head, she looked up annoyed at it. Quickly moving her fingers to smooth it down back into her hair, which was intricately woven into a beautiful up-do around her crown. She looked into the mirror again admiring herself. While looking in the mirror she noticed the sunrays behind her, it was nearly time… she sighed and made her way to the door effortlessly, she flowed with the water. She stopped just short of the door, a smirk growing on her face.

She thought of her dear husband who was no doughty worried about the upcoming meeting. “perhaps I should go and ease his troubled mind.” She giggled mischievously as she opened the giant clam half-shell door she peeked out, she saw her guard standing outside. She rolled her eyes, she couldn’t have any fun with them… far too serious. She pouted pondering what she could do “hmm…”

Queen Kiva
Mood angry
Status Ranting in ruins.
"Stupid useless seagull! One job, is it that hard is it really!" She stood up turning her back to the guard. She was not talking about him, but it could be assumed if he was not looking . If she were her mother the guard would be receiving blows to the face. "They are useless, we leave them be for one year to mourn the death of there queen and they have clearly not been keeping up with there responsibilities. " She picked up the glass that had buried its way into the sand, her favorite place ruined. " Do they thing they are the only ones who have lost something, This clan survived a whole moon cycle (one month) without a queen." She threw down the glass swimming past the guard. "How am I suppose to protect you if they wont do there part." It was a very strange thing to say, for queen to speak about protecting her guards. Especially for someone as fragile as Kiva, who had no way to defend herself, who relied on the clan as much as they relied on her.

Unlike her king, Kiva was not a common sight to see outside of her room, and if you were to see her it would defiantly be within the cave. As much as she wanted to retreat to her quarters she needed to find the king and announce there departure. King Likota was a welcoming sight, despite him being in the center of the cavern. It was quiet in the caves though, all the real fun happened at the ship. She turned to her guard her voice low, a very different contrast to her tantrum she just had. "I'm fine now..." there was no need for a guard when she was with the king. "Go round up the guards and gather anyone who is poking around the ships. Leave the workers at the reef and children be. I want everyone else present to see the king and me depart." She swam over to King Likota having to resist to jump into his arms. Kiva had no friends, her mother use to order people to play with her but it was not the same. King Likota was the first person besides her mother that gave her any attention by his own choice. "Likota." Her voice was filled with excitement but she remained on a hushed tone. "Likota Likota Likota, my window is ruined, destroyed. Some stupid shark broke the whole thing." Her age was showing, as it usually did whenever she was in a relaxed state. She was only 11, almost an adult but not quite.

DELPHINUS of Sunclan
MOOD: Nervous
INTERACTION: Queen Anemone; kesshowolf kesshowolf

Delphinus traveled quickly, her tail waving in the water to take her towards the kingdom, where there she averted her direction to head towards the castle where the king and queen were to be staying until the ceremony was to begin. The whole time, the flustered senior grew hot with nerves. She was almost angry at Gan for putting her in this position. Almost. The warm little mermaid never got hot to begin with, nothing but her hands. Her self control was able to keep her from burning up the little charm that she carried, but she came close to clutching it in sweaty palms almost as hot as boiling water.

She was greeted at the door of the castle by two mermaid guards, to which she saluted them then went in. All the guards treated her with respect seeing as she was, after all, most of their senior. She also played a much more important task considering that she took the role of a winter guard. Luckily for Delphinus, she knew the castle well. Swimming in it for one-hundred and thirty-something years did that to a mermaid. This knowledge took her to the queen's chambers as soon as she arrived.

Delphinus knocked on the door politely, pulling the charm out and holding it in her palm to be ready to present.
