Futuristic Mental Apocalypse

Isaac turned to see Maddy screaming. Without any doubt Isaac threw his axe at another infected closing in on Maddy. he then quickly took her arm over his shoulder and moved them towards the house Isaac kept staring at her wound with a worried look. No matter what he wouldn't let go of her right now. Her wound is much worse than what he got. And he knew she was in pain.

Madi gladly accepted Isaac's help, the pain was crippling. She gritted her teeth as they rushed back towards the house. God, this hurts like a b****! She thought. Did it bite a chunk out?!

"Let go of my arm, I need a hand free," She hissed through her pain. She tried to retract her arm from Isaac's grip but he refused to let go of her. Thankfully the made it to the door with no trouble, but the difficult part was keeping the door closed while trying to lock it.

(Okay, I knew I had said that I wasn't going to respond, but SCREW IT!!!)

Valkyrie blearily looked up when Maddy went to check on Isaac outside. She sighed. "Wow."

She sat down on the couch and looked at her arm. It was bleeding like heck and didn't look good... Valkyrie grabbed a bandage and began wrapping her arm up.

She finished her arm and shut her eyes, waiting for the spots to go away... But they didn't.

She felt herself falling back into the couch and blacked out.

Madi slammed her weight back into the door with a growl, sliding the looks closed with faint clicks. Stumbling back from the door, Madi grabbed at her profusely bleeding shoulder.

"I-Isaac, go check on Valkyrie. I don't think she cleaned her wound," Madi said.

Isaac nodded and let go of Maddy before moving over to Natalie. He unwrapped the bandage, Maddy was right. Natalie had forgotten to disinfect the wound. Isaac was glad that Natalie was atleast unconscious. He quickly took a dry towel and dipped it in the water and began cleaning the blood and dirt away from the wound. Isaac worked quickly on the wound as he finished cleaning with the water he took the disinfect and applied it to Natalie's arm. Isaac made a mute sigh and took a clean dressing and wrapped it around Natalie's arm Isaac double checked to see if Natalie had any other wounds.

Not seeing any Isaac stood up and pointed at Maddy then at a chair near the dining table.

Oak blinked to attention. These people seemed the fighter type. They should be able to handle it. Meanwhile, Oak would run inside. They were all probably okay with staying there, so probably no zombies... Maybe he could find something to fight with.

He collided with the door. It was locked. Impossible, it was just flung open! Oak kicked it multiple times, and finally gave up. Another thing movies fail to mention: Doors are hard to kick open. Oak resorted to kicking the glass windows open, and looking in. Nobody. Cool. Oak slipped in, yelping loudly. Hollywood Lie #3: Glass shards do not magically disappear after you break a window. Oak shuffled around. Was there a weapon anywhere-

ZOMBIE.

Oak found himself on the floor, face-down, shoulder somewhat moist. Oak prayed that that was zombie saliva and nothing else, but the freezing pain that followed informed that it was mixed with blood. Oak screamed and managed to whirl around and throw the zombie off his back, finally analyzing his surroundings. Bedroom, he noticed. The person was probably sleeping before they turned. Would this person keep any weapons? Oak managed to climb the bed, because higher ground was always great. Oak picked up a pillow. Pillows were never great, but Oak felt naked without something to hold. This was when he did find something great.

The person who used to live here slept with a gun under the pillow.

He'd be concerned about that later. Oak picked up the gun and shot the zombie in the head. Well, aimed for the head, hit the shoulder or something, Oak wasn't sure. Hollywood Lie #4: Recoil exists, and your wrist is bound to hurt after. The zombie stopped moving, at least.

Oak (carefully) climbed out of the window and checked his wounds. Several cuts and glass shards in his hands, a sore wrist, and oh yeah, a giant gash running down his right shoulder. But now he had a gun.

"The base has been compromised," Oak announced to himself mockingly. That's when he noticed his saviors, exhausted and bloody, entering another house.

Oak had entered the wrong house.

He sprinted and slammed on the door. "LET ME IN! LET ME IN!"

Isaac's eyes widened, the stranger had gone to the wrong house first?! Isaac stopped himself from smacking his palm on his head, instead Isaac rushed to the door past Mido and Maddy. In a swift movement he nearly tore the door of it's hinges and grabbed the boy and threw him inside knowningly that if he could feel it his arm would be in so much pain. He slammed the door shut afterwards quietly locking it and glides down sitting with his back against the hardwood door.

Mido who had previously shocked in terror by the whole scene, could finally think clear again. Seeing maddy bleed, he quickly rushed to the bathroom to find medical supplies, looking in closets baskets and behind the mirror, finally finding a needle and some surgical threat. "This will have to do." Mido said to himself, and rushed back to Maddy and treated the needle. "This might sting a bit. Or rather a lot. Just chew on this knife." He said holding it so that Maddy could bite down on the hilt of it.

(Yes i am back)

Madi paled upon seeing the needle, thread, and the offered knife.

"You're kidding..." She stated, surprisingly monotone. She backed away towards the bathroom, intending to lock herself inside. She hated getting stitches. And without anything to kill the pain during, she was terrified.

"Just bite down. It will help against the pain. More adrenalin and such. They taught me that at med. school but only with wooden sticks, but this have to make due." Mido said with an insisting tone and put the knife in her hand "Bite in the handle, it will be a bit softer." Mido said and reached for his lighter, testing it once to see if it still had fuel.

"Med school?" Madi repeated, stopping in her tracks. This guy went to med school? He looked too young for that though. Madi still shook her head. "No way in Hell am I letting you come near me with that thing."

Isaac took a few deep breath. This is not his best day at all.. He was shirtless bloody. And his friends wounded.

He was also heavily wounded himself of course.. But he was happy enough that this time he couldn't feel it. His body is probably broken but he must soldier on. Isaac walked over to the kitchen and took a glass filled it with water and then he opens a upper cabinet taking a bottle and taking two pills out, Isaac put the bottle back and walked over to Maddy and Mido. He tried to smile to cheer them up as he sat the glass of water and the two pills on the table.

"Oh yes, because measly pain killers will work when I'm getting shanked with a needle," Madi hissed, rubbing at her face. She hadn't realized she had been crying until then. Perhaps it was the adrenaline wearing off, but she just felt like curling up in a corner and sobbing. Pull it together, Madison, you are not allowed to wimp out. It's just stitches, you've gotten them before.

"I can't do this," Madi admitted, pressing the back of her hand over her mouth as if to keep the words in. Now that she realized she was crying, the tears came faster.

"Well, it was my second year anyway. Fast in school, and early out. My parents were a bit harsh when it came to my schooling. Now concentrate about your calmness. Even though that may be hard in this situation." Mido tried to say with a forced smile. "Sit still, and take those pain killers, it will help for the next hours or so, and that is what is gonna hurt. Also any alcohol in this house?" Mido asked Isaac.

Oak looked around. There were suddenly a lot more people than before. He winced as he got up. Not familiar faces, unfortunately. He walked up to the boy who axed the offending zombie earlier, and opened that door for him. Oak cleared his throat.

"Hi, sorry, what's your name? And also, do you know what's going on here?"

Oak bit his lip. Oh, yeah, he should mention it.

"By the way," Oak interrupted, "I found a gun next-door."

Isaac stared weirdly at Mido. Isaac then tapped himself on the chest, and crossed his hands before faking taking a drink he then taps his other hand while stretching his pinky and index finger on both hands. 'I don't drink alcohol.'

Isaac turned to the stranger then at Mido and Maddy hoping one of them would tell the boy about the situation.

"Well this is gonna be a bit of a problem. Any household alcohol? It really would be a good thing right now." Mido said with concern.

"Well there goes one thing I was looking forward to," Madi sighed. "I think there's hydrogen peroxide in the cabinet if that's anything close to what you're looking for."

"No, not a good idea. I mean a last resort, it is ok, but it will slow the healing of your wound. Meaning your arm will be even more vulnerable than now. Think about a stitch that opens up in combat. Not good Maddy." Mido said almost annoyed by the suggestion of using such drugs. He sighed "Take these pills, you will be fine for the pain that follows a stitching." Mido said and reached for the pills and water Isaac had put nearby earlier.

Isaac scratched his head then shook it thinking *That would just hurt even more* Isaac walked over to his office and rummaged around a bit. Picking up some rubbing alcohol. isaac thought for himself *I usually use this for ink.. I guess alcohol is alcohol..* Isaac walked back to mido and handed him the bottle.. Still hoping either Maddy or Mido would explain the situation to the new guy.

"Look, I have no idea what I'm talking about so don't get snippy with me," Madi snapped. Her shoulder was still screaming in pain but she refused to voice her agony. She noticed the new guy looking more confused than ever and sighed. "I'm Madi, Doctor Sass is Mido, the chick out on the couch is Natalie but don't call her by her name, the girl who sees green people is Vicky, and Mister Shirtless is Isaac. He's mute. And bleeding, again. D***it Isaac, I told you to stay in the house!"

"Yes perfect Isaac. It is just as pure as surgical spirit." Mido said reaching out for the bottle, Ripping of a piece of cloth from his sleeve, and soaked it in the spirit "This will hurt Maddy. Just bite the handle, it will ease it a bit." Mido said quickly cleaning the wound fast and efficient.

Oak watched as the silent savior walked away. He scowled embarrassedly.

"Sorry, okay. I'm Oliver, but call me Oak. Um... what should I call, er, her?"

Oak awkwardly pointed at Natalie. There was something wrong, deeply wrong with all of these people. Oak's internal alarm was ringing wildly. These people were crazy if they thought they could be self-sustaining like this-

Hang on, Oak thought. What if they were crazy? Nah, it can't be.

Oh, that's gonna bug me forever, Oak thought.

Isaac looked at Maddy with a puppy-like face as he circles his clenched fist clockwise around his chest afterwards he brushes his fingertips along the length of his other hand twice before tapping at himself 'Sorry, forgive me?'

Madi bit down hard on the handle, screaming. GOD D***IT THAT HURTS, STOP! She wanted to yell but she could only manage tears and screams. She hardly noticed Isaac's signing through the black at the edge of her vision. She nodded rapidly to him, clenching her eyes closed tightly.
