~Memories Cafe~

Maxine had stopped by a shop and headed home, her leg hurt so much. "Maybe I should of rested one day more.." The steps to her home seem much then normal. "..." She slowly climbed and made it in her home with a sigh.


Rethus saw her, he smiled to himself and ran to the shop,"sorry I'm here!" His boss yelled at him and sent him to deliver a tv, starting the truck he drove to her home a cosy looking apartment complex. Finding her home he knocked,"hi..you order a tv.." Maxine nodded and hobbled out of the way as he brought it up. "Noticed the broken one out by the dumpster..did you do that?" She nodded again rubbin her foot. He left and made his way back,".." The tv store was her high tech, it was small but had a cool vibe.
 
Cory finished his usual visit to the park and went home. he quietly shut is door and set his guitar in the closet. he walked over to the nightstand and picked up the silk pouch. he slipped the ring out and looked at it.it was unusual because it was made of amythest. most engagement rings were diamond, but Corys girlfriend had been one to like unusual things. he felt odd looking at it now. he wondered what it would have been like if he had the opportunity to propose. how would she have reacted? what would he have felt the day of their wedding? there were many unanswered questions. Maxine flashed across his mind followed by a sudden headache. he buried his face in his hands with a groan. he decided to lay down, and once the headache resided her fell asleep.


Faith finished cleaning up the shop and headed back to her home. she climbed the stairs and unlocked her apartment. she stepped inside, locking it behind her. she decided to clean. she arranged someflowers and cleaned the apartment before sitting down to some tea and a book.


Kai wandered about town. he was a bit bored, but whistled a merry tune none the less. he stumbled upon a little cafe and walked inside, taking a seat. he had awoken in a strange apartment building in this odd town with no recollection of who he was or how he got here. the only thing he knew has his own name.

Maxine just stared at her new tv..the whole thing was rather oddly made to her..there was a DVD player and something else."...my head.." It hurt seeing flashes of a girl she had never seen with..Cory! Her eyes widens as they kissed and she looked at her 'I love you..' Then it was blank, no dark and rainy but it wasn't raining at all when she looked out the window. She saw what looked like a lame version of her,'liar! He never loved me..that whore!! He was MINE! I wish I was dead!' Blood seeped from the top, then her own relfection shown as her head banged against her skull. "..that was odd.." Resting her head in the sofa pillow she drifted to sleep.


Rethus sat there and hear the door open the shut with a firm locking noise, he stood curiously and watched the girl leave,"wow she is.." His boss was standing behind him and he was hit, out of the corner of his eye he could of sworn he saw a man and women wearing odd clothes waving at him faintly, "...ok ok I'm going back.." He spent the rest of the day selling and shipping TVs to people homes.


Milly had come downstairs it was near nightfall and a man came in looking lost as she stopped at the foot of the steps. She took out a pad and pencils approaching him with a warm smile,"hello Hun what can I get you?" Her pink hair was in a messy bun the flower in her hair as a added touch of cute.
 
Kai looked up, "i think i will try the puffs. three of them." he closed the menu, "say, could tell me where i am? and the name of the apartments over there?" he pointed in a vague direction.
 
Milly jotted down puffs and paused,"we have two kinds today...berry and peach tart." The guy looked a little lost she never seen him around or at the apartments he spoke of, could be be new. Her mind had a million questions but simply kept her work face on and cheerfully spoke to him,"you are at the city by the sea Nazu..this is my cafe Memories. The closest apartments are the garden apartments but the very unqiue park garden." Taking his menu she touched his hand and paused,"I'm Milly Mae...every calls me Milly.." She thought she had a odd feeling but shook it off waiting for his reply. The staff seemed to be clocking out as night came, she still had so much to do.
 
Kai flinched when she touched his hand. she was a friendly woman, but he didnt remember anything, so he wasnt used to communicating with others. "well, thats the apartment i came from this morning, though im not sure how i got there...." he trailed off, looking around. "you can make that order to go since you seem to be close to closing time." he grinned his usual cheerful grin. usual? did he used to grin like this? he guessed he must have been a pretty fun person before he lost his memory.....
 
She smiled noticing how he flinched,"sorry Hun didn't mean to touch you.." She tucked the menu under her arm,"don't worry I have to stay and close up alone..could use the company give you time to gather yourself..I remember when I was like you..new. Lot of other come every now an them survivors from wrecks or they.." She went silent and walked away not finishing her sentence. She herself didn't know what happened till she fell asleep, hanging the order behind the counter she waited for a moment and brought to him with some lemonade. She thought maybe he should do the same. "Try to sleep..it helped me.." She placed his food and the drink,"on the house..welcome and don't be shy to come whenever.." His face made her feel funny. "Forgive me but when did come here...your face." She looked away,"sorry long day forget that enjoy sir.."
 
Kai smiled, and nodded receiving the food. she asked him when he had arrived, and turned away from him, and not understanding why, he reached out and grabbed her by the wrist. he gasped a moment, and released her. "you....do you know me? i just got here today, but i dont remember anything, were you the same? why are we here?" he questioned. "that man, the shadow man, i saw him! he was holding a bottle, some sort of essence, and giving it to an unconscious person." he continued to blurt out questions, suddenly getting a headache. he held his head in his hands, "they were memories...the bottle. he is toying with us, why?" he winced under the pressure of the headache.


((i just got an idea for Kai! what do you think about him being a fallen angel? like he was an angel who was aloud to be human if he wanted to "fall" to earth, then God recruits him to investigate the Shadow man because the shadow man is toying with people behind his back? so Kai, after "falling" and becoming human would take his own life, partially against his will, in order to find the shadow man? obviously, he like everyone else would lose his memory, therefor has to recover it before he knows his mission. what do you think?))

she stood there frozen, one she was trying to keep cool as there were guests. they glanced over and whispered and she smiled,"its okay folks he isnt feeling well is all.." they turned murmuring and she sat next to him, feeling his head she felt nothing but a hidden feeling laid there. "...shhhh its okay...you just has temporary loss of memory..were you in an accident maybe? that is very common here.." in the back of her mind she KNEW that it was no accident but to say she knew too..she dared not for IT watched over always. her dream she had heard IT say its eyes were everywhere. listening to him talk she looked blankly out the flowers seemed to help some but not as before, it was all happening again...this time a man she had never met...so she thought. "I dont believe we met but your face does look familar please dont try to think about that all now..you can go mad doing that...." looking down at her hand they were shaking, for fear that what he said..TOYING with them. "finish up and then head through the double door to the red door its a lounge sleep there till im done. i dont want you to be alone." she smiled weakly and resumed her work as people left all he said laid in her mind as well as the feeling of knowing him.
 
holy cow youre right! i never bothered to reead your characters backrounds, i figured they would come up in the story, and they maxines was revealaed was awsome. Kai is just a character i recently developed. his name is a shorter version of Kaito, hence why he looks like the vocaloid Kaito. im glad you like the fallen angel thing, and to add to the story, most angels "fall" to be with someone they fell in love with.))


Kai nodded, and nibbled at a puff. they were really good, and his headache receded. as he finished his meal he took Millies offer and went to lay down in the lounge. he dozed off for a moment, figuring Millie would wake him when she was done with her work. as much as Kai didnt remember, the word accident had triggered something. he had a breif dream, all he remembered was some sort of accident, and white feathers. he figited in his sleep, and let a tear slip as the word accident played in his head.
 
milly was waving bye as she turned the sign, the late night workers were clearing up and refilling shakers. "okay everyone we are done early..you can all go whenyour done upstaris and down." they were glad and most hurried up as one by one they left milly counted the upstairs till then below, watered the flowers and then finally ate her saved food. her mind went back to the guy who came in, who was he and why did she have a odd feeling wanting to..touch him and hug him. she shrugged it off as a sense of a crush laughing to herself,"I have not dated in forever..." her mind went back to Maxie and cory,"those two..." she smiled standing she went to the back and shook him awake she saw a single tear had fallen, she stroked his hair kneeling down,"..where did you come from i wonder...who were you in your life.."


maxie was sitting outside hugging her blanket, for some reason she could not rest any longer,"i really do hope one of the mixes is his favorite.." she was excited to know what woild he do, seeing a different side to him she felt like she got through a tiny bit. her temper tantrum had made her realize life was too short.
 
Kais dream receded. he slipped into a deeper slumber for a few moments before feeling a warm hand in his hair. his calm blue eyes fluttered open, and met with Millys. he groggily put his hand over hers as it ran over his hair. "Milly?" he mumbled only about half awake. when he realized what he was doing he sat up right away, and removed his hand from his. "er, sorry about that i uh...." he looked away awkwardly. did she tell him her name? he couldn't remember.
