Nico

Nico sat in his garden the internal dark sky glittering with stars. He sighed and took a sip of his morning tea and bit into a sugar cookie. He had a odd feeling that something was going to happen soon. He couldn't put his finger on it though, his mother and father had gone out to business in the north and he had to run the kingdom in their wait.

He closed his eyes as the wind rustled the trees and blew his ebony hair in his face. He poured more hot tea into his china cup and took a sip daintily. His black wings folded gracefully behind him and his smiled "Fun is coming and I intend to be in the front lines."

Thalia

Thaila stood in the Meridia training grounds her bow knocked. She pulled back the string and let it go hitting the middle of the target. With a satisfied smile she pulled another arrow out when a servant came forth. "Princess Thalia, the King has given me orders to give you this." he said. The princess took the scroll and handed it to her. 'Dear daughter, the vampires have plans to invade take the next warrior you see and head to the next human allied kingdom. Tell the word there and head to the next kingdom, the vampires will not stand down easily."

Katrina was on the hunt. She stalked the wounded doe silently through the forest that rested near the outskirts of her homeland. She remained crouched, her bare feet moving silently across the floor. Her father's instincts were great within her. He was a great general for the demon's army, their family blessed with the strength of the mighty dragons.

She was determined to make this kill. One deer would give her enough food for weeks. Living on her own hasn't quite been the easiest for her, but she was determined to prove to her father that she could take care of herself. As the doe lowered its head to graze, unaware of her presence, the draconic demon lunged with a flap of her wings.

The poor beast didn't have time to bleat in terror as she dug her claws into its shoulders and shot her tail towards the deer's side. The sharp spade-like tip of her tail dug deep, striking the creature's internal organs as it collapsed to the ground. It gave a few twitches, and fell dead beneath her.

Satisfied with her kill, Katrina drew out a knife from her satchel and began cleaning out and skinning the deer, thankful for the easy kill.

((ima just go with it, i'll change if you need me to.))

Jason stood next to the princess after overhearing the not so secretive messenger. He had been within the training grounds after recieving some bounty for a criminal he had found in a local pub. He was not one to normally hunt people, but easy gold was hard to pass up. Back on subject, he was technically the only warrior around.

"So how soon is this attack suppose to be? The kingdoms will fold if their armies are not prepared."

Juniper stepped out of her tent and looks around blinking at the sunlight. She made her way away from the camp and headed off toward the apple tree she knew wasn't too far off. She felt the craving for one at the moment and had ran out. Taking her time, she walked through the forest and approached the tree. She gripped it's branches climbing up the tree too reach the fruit. She grabbed a few apples tearing them from the tree and dropping them into her satchel. After deciding she had enough, she sat down on a sturdy branch biting into an apple. Her legs dangled below as she listened too the sound of the forest.

Thalia looked at Jason and started to speak. "My lord has no information on the matter. Only the Oracle has spoken of a up and coming war. We need to leave for Shadagon immediately, the Demon Royals need to know this information." she smiled "Are you up for it Soldier?"

Jo, being the recklass Angel she was. Set out with her bunny wings. " Wings keep up! " she called to her favorite pet, She found when she was playing with the Forest animals. Her hair brown whipping wildly in the wind, her bow straped tightly to her chest. " OH! Come on wings! " she says speeding fast to the ground, soon she lands safely on the ground she tucks in her wings catching, wings. She sees a guys sitting in a beautiful garden. She walks up to him Saying, " Hi" she smiles sweetly up at him.

Nico almost dropped his tea cup when he heard the loud greeting. "Where did you come from?" he asked. The young prince wasn't amused at the sudden appearance of an angel. "Do you even know where you are young one?" he asked.

"As long as you dont refer to me as Soldier anymore."

He bowed down politely as a gentleman, "The names Vanderbrek, Jason Vanderbrek." He came back up and looked her in the eyes.

"If the vampires take over, they will drain this land, and with it me. My duty is to this land, and if the threatened, its leaders; you princess."

His sword glinted as he took a lighter tone and shrugged, "Anyways, enough with the confusing speak to make me seem smart, thats get this show on the road."

He put his hand out as if looking for money, "what do we need to begin?"

Once the deer was skinned and cleaned, she started to quarter the meat, taking the best cuts for herself while leaving everything else behind for the creatures of the forest to enjoy. She gathered everything up in the skin of the beast and started on her way back to the city, to the place she called her home.

Her father helped pitch in for the place, it was located in the richer part of the city, beyond the merchant homes. Once she arrived, she unloaded the meal, storing some of the meat in a salt bin while slicing up some of the venison to make jerky. She also left a good sized steak out to cook for herself. Her stomach was growling after such a long hunt, but she knew she had to dry the meat she prepared first before it would go bad.

Setting the pieces inside of the clay enclosure she used as a makeshift oven, she took a deep breath and breathed a stream of fire over the stone above and below the rack of meat. She could feel the heat rushing up through her lungs and out of her mouth, and after the stones were warm enough, she took a few breaths to cool off before setting up a fire to roast the steaks in her kitchen.

Jo runs her hands through her long brown hair. picking up her pet wings. " Well yes, yes I do, It's the kingdom of the demons, Shadagon." She says as she looks around the garden unfurling her wings and flapping them so she is just above the ground. As she is doing so her pet bunny goes over the boy sniffing him and playing with his Short black shaggy hair.

Thalia smiled "As you wish." she said and looked down as he bowed. She looked him in the eyes and nodded "We need horses and provisions." She said and set out for the stables "You get the provisions and I'll saddle the horses, we meet here in fifteen minutes. We have no time to spare, that is a order"
Nico glared at the rabbit "Then you know who's flowers you just trampled all over then." he said with a hiss. There was one thing Nico hated more then disloyal subjects was people trampling in his garden and disturbing his tea time.

While Katrina washed as her steak sizzled and snapped above the fire, she blinked as she heard a knock on her door. Pushing the meat away from the flames with a flick of her tail to prevent it from burning, she made her way and cracked the door open, "Yes...?"

A grizzled old captain stood before her, a serpent-like demon with many battle scars resting upon his scales. His eyes were downcast and he gave a sigh, "You're Katrina Dracoanas...correct?"

"Yes..." She stated, suddenly sensing something was very wrong. Her heart immediately sank in her chest, "What is it...?"

"Your father's troop was ambushed a day ago. There are no signs of the soldiers nor him...we are afraid they've been taken by the Vampires..." he stated, not making eye contact with her, "I'm very sorry...we are doing our best to find them, but there are no signs of where they may have gone. No bodies, no footprints-"

He was cut off by an angry snarl, "Well try harder!" She snapped, tears starting to form in her eyes, "They have to be somewhere!"

"I'm sorry..." He turned away, "We are doing our best. We will send word whenever we hear from them." He left without another word, not wanting to get emotionally involved. The draconic demon's shoulders tensed up and she slammed the door behind her, gritting her teeth in frustration and anger, "He can't be taken...he must've escaped...he had to have escaped..." She hissed, trying hard not to cry as she fell back against the door.

She tucks in her wings. " I'm sorry, I can fix Them" she says with a sigh tucking her hair behind her ears, sitting down on the soft grass fixing the beautiful flowers. " You know, you don't have to be some uptight and snappy." she gets up fly over to him picking up wings. " I'm sorry about wings, she just curious."

Nico sighed and looked her "I'm sorry, but there is one thing I hate more then disloyal subjects is people trampling my gardens." he said and stood up. "I guess this is no way for a Prince to greet company. Please come sit, do you like tea?" He said kindly.

"Oh, so demanding. I like you more by the moment."

Heading off towards the barracks of the knights, he soon arrived with a gruff stop.

"Halt Vagrant." Spoke the knight, "For what reason are you roaming free within these walls?"

Jason stared at the man blankly, "Provisions, requested from the princess herself. We are on a mission of..."

The knight interrupted him, "You? A Vagrant? Helping the princess, how laughable. Scram you two bit loner."

As figured, Kings men would be useless to him. He looked to the sky and whistled. Suddenly a hawk from the sky came down and perched upon his arm. Taking blank piece of paper, he rolled it up and put it in a small case on the hawks foot.

"Go to Thalia and give her my words please."

The hawk nodded and took flight.

Jason wondered into the town outside of the walls to find supplies.

Note reads as follows: "Once your done with horses, head to edge of town. I'll meet you there."

She sit down next to him. " You're a prince? "She says with a sweet voice rubbing wings head, and stratching her pet's soft white belly. " And also i would love so tea" she smiles up at him. stratching the back of her head.

As the morning sun spread throughout the land, the ever hidden city of Veradale seem to blossom within the shadows.

The large, metal doors of the castle slowly separated, speeding up as they opened until finally hitting the walls behind creating a sickening boom throughout the city walls.

The king stepped out toward the steps and paused to observe the city beneath him.

Kyro stood for a moment collecting his thoughts, while looking around the city he watched as the others woke up to their daily routine. Some were setting their daily stalls, others preparing for travel. While he picked out candidates for the next stage, Kyro thought back to a previous success at capturing one of the enemy demon brigades. Apparently he caught word that someone of importance was leading the group.

Ultorem his now most loyal subject floated down beside him, "What now my lord?".

Glancing toward Ultorem and then back to the city, Kyro finally spoke with a voice that seemed to shake the walls around him of the castle itself. "Now to prepare my army."

Katrina stared at the floor for some time, her anger growing within her. Her father always warned her that she had quite a temper on her, and she did her best to control it. But this news was horrible, and her anger towards the vampires was growing more and more each day. It was because of them that her father was out so long...and it was because of them now that he was missing.

"I'll find you, father...I'll find you and rip apart any blood sucker that stands in my way." Her voice was a low growl, and she pushed herself up off of the floor, flapping her wings softly to give her a boost. Not even bothering to cook her steak the rest of the way, she slammed it onto a platter and began tearing through it with her fangs, eating more voraciously than usual. She had a lot to do in order to prepare. She had to gather provisions, sharpen her blade, and find someone who could help her get to the vampires. The news couldn't have come at a worse time, but as she finished her meal with a final gulp, she licked the bloody juices of the meat from her lips and started to gather the jerky she made for the long journey ahead of her.

Thalia started to rein the horses and pull them out of the stables. One, a black horse named Widow and her own horse a white stallion by the name of Angel. She smiled and climbed up on her horse and tied Widow's rein to Angel's. She kicked her foot into the side of Angel's flank "Ha!" she called and he took off to a steady pace. She caught eye of a hawk and took the note from it and read it. She nodded to her self and headed to the edge of town. When she reached the meeting place she untied Widow and got off her horse "Ready?"

Juniper finished her apple and dropped the core too the ground below her. Taking the satchel off of her shoulder, she hung it on a branch next to her and climbed higher into the tree. She stood looking off into the forest watching the birds and animals to pass the time. Gripping the bark with her hands, she let her gaze move up toward the sky looking at the clouds. She had a faint memory of creating images from them when she was younger, but that didn't interest her at the moment and returned her gaze to the scene below.

Nico nodded "I'm the only Prince of Shadagon." he said and took a tea cup off the tea set and poured some tea and handed it to her. "I'm Nico, and you are?" he asked the Angel had fallen into his kingdom the least he should know is her name.

She nodded to his answer taking a sip of the tea. Before answering his question. " I am Jo, Last of my six sisters, Princess of Arcadia." she takes another sip of her tea looking up at Nico.

Nico smiled and nodded "Ah, a fellow royal eh?" He asked and took a sip of his own tea and looked up at the sky. "It's a pleasure to meet you your highness." He said and set his cup down. "You are indeed a long way from home. The demon prince looked her "What brings you to my garden?"

With a sachel on each shoulder, the kind that go on the back of steeds, Jason walked out from the side of a building to meet with the princess as she rode up to him.

"Oh how ironic, the princess of a white steed and her lowly companion on the horse of darkness." He chuckled as he latched the sachel on her horse and then walked up to the head of her's.

"Beautiful companion you have there." The horse snorted as he stroked the bridge of its snout. "This one would never leave you. Strongest bond between man and animal i've seen in a long time."

Walking over to 'his' horse, he did the same. the horse snorted and shook its head. "Don't worry i'll be kind." Jason said softly to the horse before putting his sachel on. Swiftly he jumped up on his horse. It swayed but held strong.

Glancing back at the princess he let her know of their supplies. "A week's rations and water along with some blankets. Without an Inn we'll have to make shelter but it's not difficult. Shall we start out journey?" He asked the princess as he took the reins.

After gathering enough provisions and water to last her a while, Katrina sat at a stool, carefully sharpening the blade she had. The blade itself looked as if it were made of some form of sapphire crystal. It was semi-transparent, but despite its appearance, it was as strong as diamonds. No matter what, she found out that the blade was impossible to shatter. It was a gift from her father, he told her he received it from a dragon's horde after he helped the great beast fight off some trespassers in its lair. It was a precious gift, and one she took the utmost care in.

The crystal in her hand was necessary for sharpening the blade. Once she honed it to a dangerous point, she placed the crystal in her satchel and sheathed the blade next to her. She then gathered what clothes she figured were needed, including some leather armor which she donned immediately, and then put out the flames in her home and stepped outside, taking a deep breath. She needed information on how to get into vampire territory...and she was determined to do whatever she had to to get it.
