They would guess that they would be his hardest target at the school other than the demon, but if he could rig some bombs, I’d probably be impossible to not just easily kill them with that. Miss Morgan looked at her in shock "Oh, no no no! Honey! Birthdays are a huge event in my home, you had better get used to that! And if you think Lance is letting you off with anything less than one of his over-the-top cakes you'd be crazy! Trust me honey, you don't want to miss out on that, they're to die for. I taught him how to make just a few things and the boy takes off with it! There will be presents, and a cake, and food, and you are going to like it! Your friends are welcome too if they'd like." She had almost forgotten Mika's question from earlier. "Oh, yes! The Lancelot story! Don't tell him I told you this story, I'll never hear the end of it, but it's just so adorable I can't help myself! You see, when Lance first came to me, he was rather... difficult, to put it lightly. The nightmares, the tantrums, keeping food in his room because he thought I would take it from him! Ugh, the money I spent on pest control for that! Anyway, Lance had a hard time warming up to me at first, but once he did, all he did was cling to my skirt! He was scared of everything! He was very small and underweight at the time, but he still insisted on helping me with the library anyway. One day, we get a rather difficult customer coming in to buy a book, and this man was very angry that we didn't have what he was looking for. Or was just a hothead, don't know and don't care. The point is, my little Lancelot, so skinny and small that a breeze could have broken a bone, stood in between me and this man with his arms stretched out. He didn't even come up to the man's chest at the time! So imagine, this little boy who wasn't as tall or as big as he was supposed to be, who got scared of everything, suddenly standing in front of me against a man twice his size to protect me! It was the first time I'd seen a fire in his eyes, glaring up at the man he knew he couldn't win against, but would be damned if he didn't try! Since I always fed him extra to make up for the nutrients he wasn't getting before, he's hit a growth spurt like you wouldn't believe and he's become my precious knight, always here to protect people whenever they need it." The pain in her face was now obvious as she reminisced on her memories of Lance, praying she wouldn't have to give up her son. She was sure the others had memories like that with him too. He'd fought by Jayce's side (in a stupid reckless way), and she was sure that if Danny and Lance were close, she'd know about how protective he can be. He had helped Mika too, from the sound of things. Could she really betray him like that, for her own desire to keep him here? She had said enough, she couldn't take this further! It was immoral! The smell of fries was torturous for her willpower, already wearing her resolve down. Perhaps for some of their fries... and a little bit of the milkshake... No! No no no no no! It was wrong and she knew it! She finished her salad off, and waited for Mika to get done with her food.
