The killer waited here for a few hours, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

"Somewhere between a lot and many, oh Captain my Captain. Cynis doesn't like how I handle things though so...the Dragons share of them have been out in the West in asinine little satrapies. Why do you ask?" he responds with faux innocence as he shuffles along besides Leiji to their destination.

"Simply curious," answers Leiji matter-of-factly. "Your manner does seem very... unlike those Magistrates I have encountered in the past. But I suppose I should not let that color my opinion of your deductive abilities." She says this as if she is unconvinced of her own statement.


When the group arrives at the scene, she folds her arms and stands off to the side as the Magistrates begin their investigation. Realizing that she is not nearly as qualified as them, she knows her place and remains uninvolved. However, she cannot help to speak up when Commodore Ragara expresses skepticism that someone could have used the composite bow to fire from this far away. "Not even a truly expert marksman?" she asks.

Could Leiji make a roll to test her knowledge about weapons that she would have received at the House of Bells to see if it truly is impossible for a Dragon-Blooded Exalted to make the shot? If it's blatantly obvious that the Commodore is correct, I won't bother.

I could make you roll Int/Per+Investigation/War/Archery, but just check on Google Maps how long are 800m, and try to see a person at that distance.


The very upper limit a mortal can shoot is 750m, which would require anyway quite a Perception roll.

Nyusul lets his body falls on the roof.


"Do you realize? A vile and powerful Anathema is hunting for us. A new challenge, someone really strong to defeat...and what? we are here, standing on the top of a roof. Crap. This is my worst adventure. I'm boooooooooooooooooooooooored! When will something happen?"

No later than Nyusul buttocks touch the roof, a series of explosions shake the air, followed by a larger one a few seconds later.


They apparently come from the port, on the other side of the town.


Chu and Eris are there.

"Whoah! Cool!!"


Fast as the light, some flames run down the roof directed where the explosion took place

 

[Amethyst1]

"Eris! Chu!" Leiji cries out, on the verge of panic, when she realizes where the explosions are coming from. Even a simple beast will learn to avoid fire once it has been burnt, and having gone through the loss of two members of the Oath already, Leiji does not seem keen to lose another two Brothers. Of course, she's hardly the impulsive type, so instead of bursting off without a word, she turns to the Magistrates, alarmed. "The Mnemons are over there! We have to go see what happened!"

Not a second passes since Leiji utters those words, that a lurking shadow detaches from the ground and flings itself against the group.


With the speed of the elemental Dragons, the six Terrestrials react in a display of flawless military prowess, but is Dionjiis' fist that hits and shatters the form of the creature.


The old magistrate seems to have many tricks up his sleeve, and a past in the Immaculate Order comes at no surprise.


The roof is suddenly covered in soft, lush musk.


The only one that remained unsurprised and composed, however, is Shaodana.


We shall hasten to aid Lord and Lady Mnemon.


Hands along the sides, she leaps forward, apparently buoyed by her flowing dress.


Dionjiis and Aya quickly follow.


Kito opens his arms, jaw dropped and turns to Opal.


"That was fucking awesome!


I want to become an Immaculate!"


"No Sex."


"Aaawwwwww!"


Then, all hasten behind the three elders.
