So as the title suggests, this RP is going to take place in the Mass Effect universe. Depending on how this RP goes, I may expand it out to more people, but just until I can get a feel for the RP I am going to be looking to keep it 1 on 1 for now.
So the general idea of this RP is that we are a part of a secret Council sanctioned fireteam, the name of this fireteam is still up for suggestion, but think of them as sort of the expendables of this universe. It is a small team made out of both council and non council races, sent in to take care of missions either too dangerous for the council to risk its main military forces, or missions too morally gray for the council to "officially" sanction.
Whatever your species or backstory, ending up on this team is considered more of a punishment than anything, if not an unofficial prison sentence. Your character must have something in their backstory to essentially justify being sent to a penal battalion, even if you were falsely accused of the crime.
You are going to be playing the newest addition to the team, the "rookie" as it were, and I will be playing the leader of the team. At some point in the RP, the rest of our team is going to either all die off or go missing, and it will be on us to work together to successfully survive the mission.
I will accept applications for pretty much any main species in Mass Effect, as long as it makes sense in canon. A decent understanding of the ME universe is required, and while you in no means are obligated to write me a novel for each reply, some basic literacy skills are much appreciated
I like to put effort in my posts, and it is nice to see when your partner is doing the same.
I am open to doing a romance plot line if that is what you're looking for and if you're a female OC, but it won't be the main focus of the RP. Adult language and all that will also probably be in the RP, but if you're old enough to play the games it'll be nothing new to you lol.
Below is my character sheet. You don't need to copy the format exactly or anything, bit it is a good example for the type of information I'm looking for. If the equipment isn't on your character sheet, I'm going to assume you don't have it lol.
Name: Jack Bennett
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Height: 6'2
Weight: 215lbs
Occupation/Rank: 1st Lieutenant Alliance Military (former)
Skills/talents: Jack being a trained Alliance NCO, is skilled in the use of a multitude of firearms, as well as the matinence and operation of Alliance issued equipment. Having seen some of the worst of the worst of the galaxy, Jack is often quick on his feet and swift to adapt, which is perhaps the only reason he's survived on the team as long as he has.
Weaknesses/flaws: Perhaps one of Lt Bennet's biggest shortcomings is his brash headedness, and general attitude that anybody in the chain of command above him cannot be trusted. Because if this, he can sometimes come off as a bit essentric to some, and down right rude to others.
Physical Appearance: Jack is a male human of athletic build, though more on the stocky bruiser end of physicality than that of a professional athlete. His hair is a jet black and kept short, and though it technically goes against Alliance regulations, since he is no longer technically a part of the Alliance, Jack has grown out his beard to a scrappy but short length. He can often be caught smoking a cigarette when not on duty, with several facial scars from dangerous missions of the past.
"Listen here you skinny little... I don't give a toss what kind of hoity toity pencil pusher big shot you were back in the galaxy, but on my team, we don't just keep our heads down and wait for the real soldiers to do the work. You get your sorry ass thrown into the wood chipper with the rest of us!" -Lt Jack Bennett to a newly acquired Salarian squad member who had been cowering behind cover during a firefight.
Backstory: Jack Bennett was born on Earth, among the overpopulated and spiraling super cities of what would have been the modern day United States. Much of his childhood was spent on his own, as he was an only child and both of his parents had been serving in the Alliance navy at the time. Jack drifted from military board school, to private Alliance funded scholarship programs, but all in all Jack was a pretty poor student.
much to his parents dismay, Jack ended up in several juvenile detention centers in his youth for minor crimes such as theft and gang activity. Jack showed little interest in joining the Alliance himself, until one day when both of his parents were killed by a Bavarian extremist attack on Human space.
Following this tragedy, Jack forged documents lying about his age, and enlisted in the military at seventeen years old. Despite his previous apprehension at the idea of being a soldier, Bennet soon proved that he was quite capable at the job, despite his younger age.
The majority of his early military exploits were peace keeping operations across the veil and Alliance space.
it wasn't until much later in his military career, when he was put in charge of the human portion of a human-Turian joint strike force that the mission had gone horribly wrong, leading to the deaths of the entire team beyond himself, and one other Turman survivor.
the mission was deemed a total failure, and Jack was reassigned to the citadel secret task force soon after.
