Name: Nick Lagers

Ability: Light/shadow manipulation


_____Description: The ability to take available light and mold it to his will, either by using illusions or by making a solid sliver of light (light knives) to use as weapons, Conversely he can also play with the crushing, suffocating powers of shadows. He can store a certain amount of light in himself like some sort of capacitor to use if there are no light sources readily available, but this quickly runs dry.


Light is energy, by channeling it into certain ways, certain desirable effects can be achieved, he can focus it into a coin to superheat it, he can gather it into piercing blades of light that are solid enough to use defensively, and he can stun/blind opponents who look as he unleashes a sudden burst of light.


Since all that light is absorbed into him to give his powers energy, an interesting byproduct remains. Shadows, almost with a voice and reason of their own, always seem to gather up around him, thus his "shadow" abilities develop. The shadows speak to his darker nature and with them he can reach out and wrap things in dark shadows, manipulating them as if giving them mass and direction. He can use them to push, pull, or squeeze, but never lift. Shadows are forever bound to the surfaces and can never rise off the ground.


_____Strengths: The ability to remain invisible is the obvious application of this talent. The ability to produce near insubstantial weapons out of thin air is another. He's hard to catch, because he's generally hard to see, and his illusions could just as easily have you fighting shadows. The most interesting aspect of his fighting (since light knives are flashy and all, but disappear too damn quick) Is the fact that he uses a handful of copper coins while fighting. By channeling light into them, they can heat up to where the become glowing blobs of metal when flung into the air and can hurt quite a bit if it hits someone.


_____Weaknesses: although his mastery over light and shadows is fearsome, his strength and speed is barely over average. Thus he's best fighting from the shadows, using stealth and deception instead of speed and power. He does need light to use his abilities, so he's drained of his power quite quickly in a completely dark room. His eyes are quite sensitive to light, one of the reasons his cowl covers his face in complete darkness. And he cannot command both light and dark simultaneously.

Appearance: (link) Wears a dark heavily hooded cowl and robe that covers his face in obscuring dark shadows. Just think "Big Dark Robe" and that pretty much covers it.


As far as his civilian side, he's a somewhat skinny guy with pale skin, and dark brown hair. He's almost always wearing a hood up and/or sunglasses he wears the sunglasses indoors as well, since they're "medically" prescribed (granted it's probably not the best disguise)


Personality: Shy, but when the cowl goes on, he abandons his shyness and takes on almost a different personality altogether, one of assumed superiority and confidence. He's somewhat cynical, and the gloomier he gets, the darker shadows seem to draw around him. Conversely, the more cheerful he gets, he almost seems to "glow"


History:


The brightest lights cast the darkest shadows. Nick had always been bothered by bright lights, remaining indoors and away from the sun. One dark night, as he was returning home from the convenience store he was mugged by a gang that had plagued his neighborhood for months. As he lay bleeding on the side of the street an old man stopped by and tended to his wounds, becoming the "bright shining light" in Nick's life. Over the next few months the old man became like a father to Nick, teaching him how to balance his "chi". Nick soon learned how to control his inner light and dark and to his surprise he could manipulate the "chi" around him. gripping the edges between light and dark, and drawing from the energies around him to find balance, and for once he was at peace. He could feel their energies brushing up against his skin, reach out and grab them, draw them up around himself and bend it to his will.


The old man was both surprised and proud of Nick's mastery of energy and told him never to loose sight of the balance, or he would loose sight of himself. However several weeks later the old man fell victim to the same gang that attacked nick, fatally wounding him. Nick rushed to his aid too late, and in his rage took on the cloak of his mentor and pursued the gang through the shadowy streets. By morning none remained.


Nick had lost his balance and slipped to the darkness, and the darkness whispered back, welcoming him to it's dark embrace. However even so, there remains a spark of light that still burns within him, whispering to him to restore his inner balance, but until then he continues to wear the robes wrapped in darkness.
 
Just so this is all clear: Rikarah very much sounds like a villain and is very capable of becoming one. Her main concern is looking out for herself. However, she could also easily be swayed to be a force for good, if she felt it benefitted her, and she would be fine with being a superhero...but that doesn't mean that morally, she is of superhero-type morals. She is very morally ambiguous.

_____Description: Rikarah can reflect attacks and abilities of others, as well as emotions. For example, if a person is to use a power against her, she can put up a mental shield that bounces the ability off of her and onto them instead, which could cause them damage. She can also reflect the ability onto others to affect them. Same with emotion; she can heighten others' emotions and cause them to potentially react harmfully towards themselves or others as a result.


_____Strengths: her abilitities help her to be personally protected from attack and turn the attack of effects of attack to those she chooses to instead.


_____Weaknesses: Rikarah is small, only 5'0 and 97 pounds, and could be easily physically overpowered, though she does know how to use weaponry.

Rikarah is 5'0, 97 pounds, with a delicate appearance hiding her deceptively manipulative and intelligent nature. She has dark brown hair and eyes and is attractive, sometimes mistaken for a child.

Personality: Rikarah is very intelligent, well-spoken, and friendly, sometimes flirty in manner, but essentially distant from truly being intimate with others. She looks out for number one and is quite manipulative, but often comes across as sweet, caring, and cute.


History:


Rikarah is a sociopath; she can be extremely charming and seductive, but also deadly and violent. She comes across as very likeable and even naive young person, but she is shrewd, intelligent, insightful, and very focused on herself and her goals. She is a very sexual person and can come across as something like a chameleon, painting herself in the light that people expect her to be or want to see her as.


On the converse side, however, she also can swing to being genuinely concerned about those she perceives as wholly innocent, as in children or the weak. She takes great pleasure out of manipulating people and killing, but mainly those she views as deserving of her torments. Rikarah killed her own family when she was only seventeen years old, starting her new way of life; as time has passed she has only grown more creative and clever about her way of life.


Her name at birth, however, was Susannah Eve Pallis, and her parents were George and April Pallis. She was raised with a younger sister, Isabella, two years her junior.


From the time she was quite young Susannah was gifted with her reflection ability. As she grew her ability strengthened even without her conscious efforts.


Susannah was a quiet, well mannered child and teenager, excelling in school and extracurricular activities, though she did not participate in many. She was gifted artistically in all ways, particularly drawing, painting, and sculpting, though she was also an excellent actress, a fair singer, and a gifted dancer. She got along well with her peers and was generally well liked and regarded by most. This was in direct contrast to the ominous, uneasy undertone of her home life. Although Susannah was never abused outright, there was always the threat of it lurking within, and she, with her ability to sense emotion and wishes, knew it fully.


April Pallis,her mother, was a weak willed woman who seemed more of a child than her own children; she was not very involved with her daughters and allowed Isabella to get away with a lot and did not interfere with either child’s well being. George Pallis set up a home with sexual undertones that were inappropriate to a father daughter relationship, with both Susannah and Isabella. Although he never actively abused either girl, he often “accidentally” walked in on them while they were in the bathroom or undressing, deliberately brushed them, eyed them, or made insinuative comments. Isabella used this to her advantage and flirted to get her way with things; Susannah was repulsed and avoided him as much as possible. When she tried to speak with her mother, April brushed her off helplessly; Susannah realized that her mother had known all along and did nothing. Isabella, meanwhile, had a difficult relationship with Susannah; a typical baby of the family, she was openly rude and insulting to Susannah, particularly in front of her parents, and went out of her way to attempt to anger or embarrass her.


Susannah began to daydream of killing her family; when she finally did the deed, it was not from an impulse or a moment of “snapping,” but rather carefully controlled thought. At the age of seventeen, Susannah murdered her fifteen year old sister and both her parents, cutting off their heads and setting them up as an artistic display; she developed it along the theme of “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” by matching it to her family’s traits, sewing shut the eyes of her father, the ears of her mother, and the lips of her sister, in order to match up with how she viewed that they failed her. Changing her name to Rikarah Eve Pallaton, she moved to New York City and finished out her education on her own, working and supporting herself at the same time that she attended school, also using up her parents’ money and resources. She continued her artwork and often sold it on the side for extra money…and continued killing.


Rikarah enjoyed the murder and subsequent artwork of her family so thoroughly that she began to look for an opportunity to do it again. She began to scout out potential victims, but not just any person would do; they must meet her standard of approval of “deserving” it. She was a moralistic killer in a way.


Where she goes from that point is very much dependent upon circumstances. As mentioned earlier, she would be very amendable to being a superhero...but that does not guarantee that given certain conditions, she wouldn't betray the team if she thought her benefit was to do so. However, given certain conditions, she could also genuinely show concern for others and choose to perform good.

-Ability: Shadow Manipulation


-Description: Her shadow manipulation is unlike the ones used one Naruto. It's more of a tool, another weapon that Eva can mold to her tastes, meaning she can make solid weapons out of shadows. She can manipulate shadows as if they were puppets and make them into her own instruments. (OF DOOM! MWUAHAHAHAHA!)



-Strengths: The advantage with this is that she can throw a frontal attack, as well as one from behind. She can take over the field just as long as there's a shadow where she can connect to her own to lengthen the limit of her attack. If the field is shadowed darkly, the advantage is hers. Or, if it is a ring, she can simply lay a hand upon one side of the ring's shadow and it would be in her control. Her manipulation gives her the ability to extend her attacks, lengthen her sword to reach the target, or catch herself in a fall. (But that's only if she is aware. If she falls unconscious or she is unaware, she cannot do much to aid herself.) She's like a puppeteer, so the movements of the shadows can twist and turn as fast as she can react.



-Weaknesses: However useful the ability is, the disadvantages are still evident. Her attacks are limited, so just as long as her opponent stays away from the reach of the shadows, it is assured that they are safe. And during bright days where the only shadows are their own, she'd need to rely on her speed and strength to get close enough to the opponent. Contact isn't needed, due to the fact that her shadow can reach out as well as she can. Also, the amount of force put into the attacks vary in the shade of the shadow. The lighter, the weaker. In that case, she'd need to link more shadows to the attack to darken them for a strengthened impact. At times, she needs to leave behind a few shadow-maker objects to keep the link between her and her manipulated shadows. The link must be kept if she has to leave the post where the shadows are darkest, or she must result to using her own much more than needed. Along with the shadow's limits, there's also limit in movements, she need to move her arms in a way that her shadows must move, like a true puppeteer.



Appearance: Evangeline's hair is black, her eyes are violet, though sometimes they grow darker, at times also fading to a light silver. Her cheeks and arms and her back are often swirling with snaking marks of black that she herself doesn't know its origins. She's very small (as per usual. x.x" My characters are always small.)

Personality: She's kind, though at times, she'd grow quite scary when provoked. She's gentle, always smiling with that smile that seemingly draws people in. But behind the light, there's an ever growing darkness that she keeps within. And at some points, she'd be found staring into space white eyes vacant or with fear upon her face. She likes to be funny, trying her best to please and she's quite the type to be easily flustered. A few humerous comment may have her cheeks growing a few different shades of red.



History: Her amnesia is the cause of her missing memories, though she has a feeling she doesnt, at all, want to remember. She found herself lying down in a bed with nothing but small pieces of clothing that rode way too high for her liking. She found bruises about her body along with dried blood, though besides that, she found nothing that would indicate her missing identity.



Evangeline was discovered when she'd accidentally allowed her powers to run wild, destroying several stores in the streets as she was picked on by the kids who nicknamed her "freak," since her "tattoos" always seemed to move without her consent. At times, they'd fade, and in others, they just snake around her skin. One thing that always creeped the other kinds out, though they cover their fear with the horrid actions of throwing rocks and whatever harmful things they can pick up and throwing them at her.



HIVE collected her while she was still raging, as she was told. They'd informed her that she'd been quite hard to approach, though with a slight effort, she was taken to head quarters where they'd taken it upon themselves to train her. So far, though, only small bursts would reveal her ominous powers upon the spark of her emotions. But she's slowly gaining more and more control over the shadows which she supposedly controlled.



Though, what people wondered for very long now was the secretive manner in which she described her nightmares, which she gets quite frequently. Resulting in little sleep and dark rings about her eyes. The purpose of her eluding the questions were quite unknown to anyone else besides herself.

Name: Vidic Fontaine


Alias: Infinita Caro (Latin;infinite flesh)


Age: 32


Ability: Biomass Manipulator


Description: He can manipulate his own biomass (organic matter,per unit of mass) at will,within the bounds of his control.


Strengths: The power is quite versatile;if enough mass is used,nearly anything is possible,from armour,to (grotesque) shapeshifting,to closing wounds to keep his insides where they belong.


Weaknesses: He needs to constantly gather biomass;if he uses his power,it isn't a perfectly efficient proccess,with some mass being blown off into nothingness,with a greater percentage inefficiency with the more mass is being used. Also,the end result of every use of the power must be organic in nature (he can't make a minigun,for example,but he can make an enormous tentacle-arm). Finally,with all of the extra mass he carries,his natural body temperature is far higher than that of a normal human,by about forty degrees. As such,he's easily picked up by thermal imaging.


Required Secondary: Biomass consumption,which allows Vidic to,duh,consume organic matter. Utter concentration is required to keep from devouring the entire entity,and the mass is stored in his person.


Required Secondary: Minor Superhuman Strength. This will put him to "Superhuman I" for both strength and durability,since with strength comes durability. Without this power,he'd crush himself with his own gathered mass before he's able to gather a useful amount.


Civillian Appearance: Since his power allows for shapeshifting,he uses it to full effect. His entire outfit is made of flesh,but looks normal,otherwise. He uses his powers every now and then to revert and restart any decomposition or fermentation proccesses.

Super Appearance: Once again,since his power allows shapeshifting,he uses it to full effect. He'll often take the appearance of another person,or simply shift his features into a blank surface.


Personality: Vidic is a vindictive man. If you wrong him,or those he calls friend or family,expect him to torture you gruesomely when he finally catches you. He's also a very determined man,never giving up unless he himself sees it as pointless,which happens very rarely. He cares little for the lives of those that get in the way,as well. He'll always try to bring in criminals alive for questioning,but he will always end an interrogation with "Can I eat him/her now?"


History: Vidic Fontaine was born with the gene. However,it was latent. As such,for a significant portion of his youth,Vidic thought he was a normal person. When he was 13,however,during an altercation with a bully,his gene became active. The end result was one less bully in the world,and an entire town absolutely terrified of him,including himself. Afterward,HIVE offered to train him in his powers in order to prevent another calamity from happening again. After a few years in the HIVE trainee program,the Division noticed his rapid progression,and his unique skill,and it's potential applications. They approached him,and offered him an opprotunity to join them. Vidic accepted the offer. Since then,he has killed and maimed in the name of keeping the peace. His alias,Infinita Caro,has recieved a lot of negative press,because of what his powers do,but he ignored the nay-sayers. He knows that if they had his powers,most of them would turn to crime,or worse.


Power Grid


Strength: 6 (superhuman Grade I),2,500 kilogram mass limit (2.5 tonnes) .


Durability: 6 (Superhuman Grade I),slightly resistant to small-arms and fairly resistant blunt weapons.



Speed: 3 (Athletic),odd,considering his strength,but this is subject to decrease as his stored mass increases.



Stamina: 5 (Human Limit),the mass he carries trained his body to cope with long term stress. This is subject to increase as stored mass decreases.



Power Mastery: 6. Blips happen,and he needs to concentrate when using them. Thankfully his powers can't cause collateral damage when they backfire. However,he can still end up killing himself when they do.
 
I'm not sure if this character would be acceptable, but it gives me some fun ideas anyways ^^'

Name: Aviram Shiloh


Codename: (no codename, but normally goes by Avi or Shiloh)


Age: 2137


Ability: Vampire


_____Description: Well, he's a vampire, requires the blood of the living to survive, weak to sunlight, fire, and holy relics.


_____Strengths: Being a vampire grants Shiloh superhuman strength, senses, nigh invulnerability, psychic control over the weak-willed, and agelessness.


_____Weaknesses: Being a vampire unfortunately also makes Avi incredibly vulnerable to fire and holy relics, and running water amongst other things. Also, being in the sunlight removes all a vampire's abilities aside from agelessness, and tires them out quickly.

Appearance: Currently, Avi wears the guise of a man in his early thirties with black hair starting to grey, and only the slightest hints at wrinkles beginning to form. With the ability to shapeshift (though over a fairly long period of time, and only to a minor degree). Standing at a little shy of six feet tall, he appears quite average; not quite what one would normally expect from a vampire.


Personality: Quite cool and composed, though he enjoys making a good joke fairly often. Not exactly the stereotyped vampire that society expects.


History: Living for such an extreme length of time, even amongst his own kind, Avi has been involved in several majour conflicts worldwide, and 'killed' literally dozens of times. After the discovery of vampires, caused in no small part by count Dracula, who many vampires look back on as a fool, Avi and what little was left of their kind scattered throughout the world and went even deeper into hiding, paranoid of what would happen should they be uncovered. After recent super scares, Shiloh has decided it prudent to finally reveal himself to the world, and possibly teach these young ones a thing or two about responsibility for one's own strength. Having lived as a super of sorts for millenia, the vampire has found himself often cleaning up after the young superhumans that had not yet learned to control themselves.


(I know this looks OP, though he entirely loses his powers when exposed to sunlight, and any one of his weaknesses can easily kill him. Let me know if edits are required)
 
I don't know whether your still accepting characters, but I thought I'd offer mine up, and get your recommendation. I apologize, it's a bit Long.

Codename: Viciss( Like Vice + iss)/Mogre( Moe +grr)


Age:22


Ability: Scientifically fueled mutation of Mind, Body and Persona


Description: When Nicolai chooses things on the side of moral good or what he would normally deem, "humane' or heroic, his mutation triggers a more "Olympian or Godlike physique and power set. When he chooses on the side of evil or, "inhumane , or criminal, he triggers a much more savage, animal like Beast, with destructive abilities augmented by an uncontrolled blood lust.


Strengths: His body grows in size, his muscle capacity increases, his speed and reflexes also grow better. He develops minor immunities and resistances, OR, abilities that improve his ability to wreak havoc. He can be a natural born leader, or a horrific shock trooper when time needs.


Weaknesses: In his "good state" Nicolai grows cocky, overly superior, and often tries to take control of the operation. Not only that, his Moral compass can lead him to lend second chances to criminals, rather than dealing the knockout blow or if ordered, the killing blow. In his " Wicked" state, Nicolai is Animalistic, instinctive, his rage and hunger for carnage grows with every action. He will ignore orders, and even turn on his comrades and attack civilians.

Power Mastery: Nicolai's ability is based off of his composure. Overall his control is 3. When feeling great, or noble, his mutation to Sainted begins at about a 4-5. Vice Versa, When he feels betrayed, angered, or depressed, the Savage mutation occurs a great deal faster and lack of control. This is a horrible 1, or 2 if with allies to calm him.

His clothing style can be seen as quiet flamboyant. He stands about 6.75 feet tall, and has a golden sheen to his skin. Not enough to look like gold, but enough to shimmer.

Savage Nicolai has Black fur, Stands about 8.5 to 9 feet tall and weighs about 0.75 Tons, his claws and teeth grow bigger as he mutates, and his varies grotesque-ities get worst and more fierce-some as he mutates. Likewise, his literacy and vocal capabilities wither to growls and roars.


Personality:


Nicolai by nature is troubled and suspicious. He reluctantly accepts help, or "charity" as he sees it. He is a loner, but understands, (like most mythos of transforming creatures) that he NEEDS allies. He keeps to himself, but is prone to moments of compassion for the trodden and abused. Unfortunately, he ha s a snappy temper over delicate subjects. ironically, one of these subjects, IS his temper.


Sainted: Arrogant, Merciful, compassionate, a Born Leader.


Savage: Selfish, Angry, Anarchy-lover, He can be Evil Incarnate.


History:


Nicolai's household was a troubled one with no mother, just an abusive, drunk, and cheap Father. The same father SOLD Nicolai into a lab testing that took him in an alley way, and proceeded to drug him with a steroid and a number of antidepressants... repeatedly. When they got no result, they did it again. And again. Finally, they gave up. They proceeded to a part of the deal that Nicolai's father knew nothing about. They prepared a lethal injection, and administered it. The results were nothing short of catastrophic. Nicolai quickly doubled in size, his irises became crimson, his hair blond, and his teeth and nails grew to monstrous proportions. He proceeded. to lecture the men with a literacy he didn't normally posses. After wards, he massacred them all. The gunmen were blindsided by they're own ricocheting bullets. The scientists were smashed and shredded.


After all of this. A bloody and half clothed Nicolai made his way to a police station. Standing in the police station was his father of all people. He was filing a missing persons report, as well as a few false Fraud accusations. When Nicolai heard his father's self serving rants about being ripped off and how " he was going to pick Nicolai up", he began to grow angry. The angrier he grew, the longer his nails grew, and a dark fur began to spread from the back of his neck to his arms. After that, He slowly grew taller than his father, who proceeded to cower in his silhouette and start mumbling apologies. Nicolai growled out a lecture about penance, and picked up his "beloved" father by the throat.


Father: "A-are you going to kill me?"


Nicolai: "*Snarls* No.... I'm going to make you live in agony."


Nicolai slammed his father to the ground, shattering his legs, then hurled him through the plate glass window into an oncoming car. The impact snapped his lower spine and cracked his skull. The hospital diagnosis for Nicolai Senior, was Lower Limb Paralysis, permanent nerve and brain trauma, and Chronic leg pain. he would never walk again, be without pain, or even be able to tie his own shoes without help again. Nicolai was found guilty of Assault with intention to Kill, and but due to proper Justification and mysterious circumstances, was only sentenced to 4 years in a Federal prison.


He was released as of Last Winter.

_____Description: Lilly is able to alter reality, in a way. The main power she has discovered so far, is the power to move as if time and space didn't even exist. When she activates her power she basicly moves through a parallel dimension until she deactivates it. Meaning, once she's using her power she becomes invisible, intangible and moves at superhuman speed. This is not the full extent of her power however, but it's her current level of understanding and control over her power.


_____Strengths: It gives her excellent infiltration, intel gathering, escaping and sabotaging advantages. In combat it's also useful since she's able to position herself in a favorable position and can basicly surprise attack her enemy whenever her power allows her too.


_____Weaknesses: She isn't strong nor is she durable, she relies on her power and custom guns to take out the enemies that manage to force her into a battle. Her powers also have limitations, it's can only be maintained for a short duration and if used too much or too long, she starts to lose sense of which reality is the real one and the time/space-distortion backfires on her. If the powerabuse maintains, the odds of Lilly becoming insane are very realistic.

Personality: Eventhough she's a super, she sure as hell doesn't act like it until she puts on her suit. When she isn't 'on the job', she enjoys having fun and just chilling with her friends. She loves to laugh and she loves to make people feel good aswell, it's not easy to encounter her in a snippy or sour mood. Even in the mornings! When it's required for her to put on her suit, her personality doesn't change much. She still loves to have fun more so than anything else, because of that attitude she's considered more of a Gray character. Since she doesn't care much if what she does is just or otherwise, as long as she's having fun.


She doesn't mind killing those who oppose her but she does prefer to make it as less painful as she can, mainly because she can't stand screams of agony or looks of terror. Overall she's a pretty selfish person, doing things only when she wants to or when it benefits her. But she's cheerful and an up-beat person nonetheless.


History:


I could go on and on about her everyday life from when she was still a normal teenage girl and there wasn't the slighest 'super' in her, but let's be honest, you're not really interested in that and neither am I. So I'm going to skip that part and get straight to the juicy part. If you don't like it ... The **** you gnna do?... Exactly. Now lets get started.


Chapter I "How she became Super"



She wasn't born with it, she wasn't trained and neither did she run into a radioactive susbtance...The day she became super, was a normal day like any other. She was 17 at the time and was at a carny with her friends, they had just gone on 'the last ride of their lives', which was the slogan of a 1938th-rate haunted house that could compete with South Park's farting haunted house for top 3 of lamest carny rides in the fancy history of carnies, only to be topped by Invisible Wonders. Which was basicly paying 10 bucks to enter an empty tent.


Anyway, moving on, her and her friends just got out of the ride and were on their way to the next supercallifragillisticexpiallidoosjes-ride when they walked by a strange tent. It was like the tent wasn't even there really, it was semi-transparant and everyone walked passed it without even giving it a glance, like it was the bastard child of a deceased millionaire. Nobody wanted to have anything to do with it, let alone pay for what it had to offer.


Strangely enough, Lilly couldn't help but to look at it, even as she had passed it she couldn't help but to keep glancing over her shoulder at it. Before she knew it she had broken free of her friends and found herself parting the tent's shimmering veil apart to pass through. When she did so, she couldn't feel the a thing, neither did the veil move. She simply passed through it.


' Neat trick. ' She though as she entered.


Once inside, she saw a woman seated in the center of the tent, with crossed legs. The woman had white streaks in her ravenblack hair and was clearly elderly, yet she had a young 'aura". As if she was enjoying a game she was playing, eventhough she was simply staring at Lilly with big crazed eyes and a large smile on her face. It made Lilly more than uncomfortable, she figured this old bat was insane and should be left alone, so she apologized for her intrusion and was about to turn around to walk out.


" Child...Leave now and you'll regret it for the rest of the life you settled for. A life without excitement, without adventure! "



Lilly froze in her steps, how come this old bat hit the nail on the head with such force that it could pierce concrete? Living a life without excitement, Lilly's greatest fear...Again, she turned, this time to face the old bat with a serious, even angry, look on her face.


"What?"
She didn't really know what to say, but she knew she wanted to know more.


The seemingly crazed old bat kept staring, without blinking even once, while maintaining that sickening smile on her face.


"I can offer you a life, with so much excitement, that you wouldn't have to worry about living a life without meaning or substance. I can offer you...A legacy. Have you not noticed how you are the only one who was able to see the tent? How you are the only one able to receive this gift I'm offering you? Child...You are special. "



"What are you talking about?"
She tried to hide her interest but her voice was shaky with excitement and her eyes screamed that she hunged for more.


"Just answer me one question and I will give you the power to create a legacy, to have your name be known for eras to come...Do you wish to be unique? "



Without even giving it thought, Lilly answered, louder than she wanted to even. " YES! "


Then the impossible happened, the old bat started to disappate, in a most peculiar manner even. Slowly but surely, she began to shimmer and become translucent, but that wasn't all there was to it. The old woman started to transform into a small sphere of sapphire light, crackling and sparking with pure energy. Lilly was frozen stiff and staring at the transformation with huge eyes, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Every muscle in her body was frozen solid while her mind was screaming at her to run the hell away. Her heart wouldn't listen, she stayed until the woman had completely transformed into the blue semi-translucent sphere of light and energy.


Slowly, Lilly's body started to move towards it, one step at a time until she found herself moving her arms upwards and steadily placing encompassing the sphere with her hands. The moment her hands surrounded the sphere, time stopped, space disappeared. All what was left was her, and the sphere. She kept holding the sphere with all her might as she could feel it trembling furiously, before it calmed and she opened her hands, it was gone.


But while the sphere was gone, she could still feel its power, now flowing through her body, from head to toe she was engulfed in its power. Still finding herself in a complete nothingness, she raised her arms upwards, closed her eyes and smiled broad. She had become unique. Her newfound power was rushing through, and slowly time started to become present again, shapes and forms came before her eyes, blurry and hazy at first, but then sharper and sharper. She started to return to her own world, once fully returned, she collapsed onto the grass.


She woke up, still in the shimmering tent, and as she pushed herself up, she stared at her hands. Who were fading out and into 'reality', it hadn't been a dream...


She had become unique...


CHAPTER II "How she evolved"

I tried but I can't see a way to use light bending to control shadows, other than bending light away from an area to cast a shadow (that would just be a regular shadow). As far as her ability goes, is there a limit to how long she can sustain it in one go? That might be something to list in weaknesses. Or if it takes a toll on her mentally.


Also, I like the idea of powers ricocheteing off of her lol. Is it more of a barrier-type where anything that flies at her hits it and bounces off? Or does she have to focus on what's coming and have the ability to direct it in a certain direction?


And if it's the barrier-type I mentioned, maybe when he power mastery goes up she can maybe acquire the ability to focus on and redirect an attack.


(Just curious. I like details, it's a blessing and a curse 8( Don't worry though, you're in.)

I think you should lower your stats a little. For strength, durability, speed and stamina I consider 5 a maxed stat for anyone who doesn't have a power than enhances it, so your character is just about maxed out in everything.


Take into consideration that she is a 16-year old girl, so 4s ad 5s is a little excessive. I would think she would be more in the 2s and 3s range, with maybe a 4 or two. A 9 in power mastery is also awful high. There is opportunity for character growth throughout the RP so don't feel like the stats you pick are what you're stuck with. I would feel better if you lowered you power mastery to a 7 or 8, but it's mostly the other stats I think you should change, I'd let the 9 in power mastery slide if you wanted to keep it.


Other than that, everything looks fine though. Just change those stats or argue with me and you're in 8)

I think your power is interesting, but it makes it hard to place him on a team. So I'm going to ask you a few questions.


His Sainted and Savage sides are are triggered by his action? So he does a good deed and his Sainted state is triggered, or a bad deed triggers his Savage state? People do good and bad deeds constantly, so does it have to be a certain... 'level' of deed? For instance, he could steal a pen from a hotel and would remain in his human state, but pushing someone in front of a bus would trigger his savage state?


Also, is there some sort of time limit to it? How long he can stay in Sainted or Savage state? I think that would be a good balancer since those two states are so strong. Or how does he return to human state? Could he be coaxed out of it? Also, (hypothetically) if he had a power mastery of 10, would he be able to call upon his Sainted and Savage states at will, and be able to keep from turning no matter his deeds? Also, can he call on each state at will now?


I'm just a little confused about it, if you could give me some more info that would be great 8)

Shackles' ability passively causes the air around him to be a lot cooler. The application of Shackles' Ice Manipulation is "cold". This means that he can effectively use the moisture of the air around him to create beams of snow, but he cannot control Ice, the ability to control the airs density and hardness.


_____Strengths: Cold Ice Manipulation causes what it hits to be frozen on contact, usually by creating beams of subzero energy. It can also surround the user in cold energy, which helps to immobilize enemies. To Shackles', the best quality of Ice Manipulation is to attack from great distances, and cause blizzards that affect a wide range all around him. He can also cause anything to be extremely fragile when it's cold.


_____Weaknesses: Cold Ice Manipulation is much weaker than regular Ice Manipulation, meaning he has a great weakness to Fire Manipulation and Magma Manipulation. He cannot do anything in extremely dry areas, due to lack of moisture in the air. Also, Shackles cannot control water, except for slush.

He prefers to wear light clothing, and denim is his favourite. When in his super uniform, he wears a black T-shirt underneath a usually open blue jacket that is rolled up to above his elbows. He sports a belt and blue pants, as well as black shoes that appear to have a grey trim at the bottom.





Personality: On the outside, he's just like any average teen. He's polite, responsible, a bit sarcastic, and loves to joke around with his friends. Reisuke as a child is usually much more quieter and content, being mature for his age. However, as a Super, he becomes much more like a rebellious teenager. He will posses a sharp tongue, with sarcastic remarks just itching to fall out of his mouth. He's much more mature when he becomes a Super, is is usually always cool and calm, no matter what the situation. He can also be rather sadistic, and becomes laid-back to the point of being apathetic to anything that doesn't interest him. Of course, he always means well in the end. Sometimes.





History: As a child, he had lived a small and tranquil life. Growing up in a family of seven, including a dog, he was the youngest out of his siblings. He had an older sister and two twin brothers that were older than him. He was much like the younger twin, Angelo, in terms of personality, and loved him dearly. He discovered his power for Ice Manipulation when he accidentally froze his dog to death while he slept. His parents passed it off, saying that it was a weak dog to begin with, but his siblings became suspicious. Soon, the older twin brother began to shun him, calling him a monster. And despite her gentle demeanour, his sister began to become afraid of him as well. This tension has been between the siblings for all of his life, until he became four and started to go out while his parents were at work and his siblings were at school. He was usually seen wandering the streets of his small village. Lost and confused, he wondered what his life was supposed to mean.

Description: Using various alchemical mixtures, Plague is able to create a deep and panicked feeling of fear in his opponents. Once they are afraid, he is able to use his 'gift' to pull their fears into reality, giving them physical form and controlling them against the foe. As for his combat, he has trained himself and been trained by others in various types of combat styles, many making use of the small surgical weaponry he carries.


Strengths: His ability is able to cripple and disorient an enemy at first, then cause physical and mental damage as they battle against the things that frighten them the most. His combat abilities are not only strong, but precise, able to harm and disable his foes.


Weaknesses: Though he is resistant to his own mixtures due to the nature of ability, they will begin to effect him over time in smaller or poorly ventilated areas, twisting his psyche and causing him to begin manifesting his OWN deeply hidden fears. As such, he tries to be wary of the surroundings in which he uses said chems.

Super: Has always been seen wearing a long, brown leather trenchcoat and matching wide-brimmed hat. Under the coat, he wears varying degrees of armored clothing, black or grey. Along with a heavy looking set of boots and a pair of black gloves, he wears a modified 'plague doctor' mask over a black facial covering. Picture.


Personality: A quiet and very secretive sort of person that leans on the more serious side of most things. Does not display much emotion, especially when in his 'super' get-up. He can be kind, but not overly so. At first impression, he may seem cold or even mean, but this tends to fade once one gets to know him.


History: After discovering his powers at a younger age, Victor worked over years to hone them to near perfection, training both his body and mind as well. Never meaning to become any sort of 'hero', he began to fight against crime and corruption after feeling the fear that radiated from so many in the city. He vowed to show the criminals and scum the fear that plagued those around him, becoming a wanted vigilante. (More history to come depending on the faction he finds himself in.)

_____Weaknesses: The force needs to come from somewhere. The easiest way Anton has found so far is to be bodily struck in some way, though he can also absorb it in indirect ways, such as stealing the force powering the momentum of an object, essentially removing it's inertia.

Personality: Often looks serious, and attempts to act the part; commonly dressing in a suit. Sometimes though, Anton seems to lack a bit of maturity that's expected of him at his current age.


History: Anton lived his life a little messily. Getting involved in a small-time gang in highschool, he picked up some martial arts and other methods of self defense, just in case things went awry. It was right out of highschool that Anton discovered his power. Another little gang fight, the new graduate took a bat to the head, though nothing happened. When Anton swung back, his fist connected with a lot more force than he'd expected, crunching the offender's face inward on itself. It was after this fight that Anton quit, leaving to live a normal life; or so he said. The next eight years of his life Anton spent training himself to use his power so that he wouldn't accidentally store up force and destroy anything, or hurt anyone. It was only a little after that that he decided a normal life wasn't for him, and turned to crime fighting as an outlet. Since then, he still hasn't come up with a super name, and just uses the same one he was born with.
 
1.Your assumptions as to how his ability is triggered are correct, it has to be a fairly serious action or decision.


2. The time limit would depend how out of hand, or emotionally turmoiled he was for Savage.


3.For Sainted its more of a something would have to really shock him, but eventually his psych would balance out and he would snap out of it. Call it cliche, but think in terms of the Hulk. When he calms down, he stops.


4. Yes, he can be coaxed out of his states.


5.I would think if he had a mastery of ten, ( meaning intense mental and meditational training), Yes he could tap into his abilities while retaining his "Nicolai" persona.


Likewise, if he had the mental discipline and stress management, he could keep himself from turning.


As of now, he has a very, very Raw level of control, He finds it easier to be Savage than Saintly. Since its easier to "make" yourself angry.


Saintly could be triggered by simple feelings of compassion.

I don't know how you plan to play a 4-year old. He's too young to be on any teams, or probably even in HIVE's trainee program. And such a young kid would have much lower stats, a 5 in speed is like an Olympic runner. Having a weak power and being a kid are reasons his mastery should be low. Also, his personality doesn't seem like a 4-year old at all to me. I've never met a 4-year old that even has the capacity to act like a rebellious teen, they just aren't developed enough. If you want to stick with this character, you'll need to do a lot of tweaking I think, but I don't think a 4-year old would be much fun to play, I didn't even have fun playing one as an NPC once.


On the other hand, you could always bump his age up to 13 or 14 (if you want him to be really young still, everyone else is older, and it's right where that rebellious teen phase starts), lower his power mastery to maybe middle of the road-ish(5-ish), and change his other stats to the 2 area, maybe a couple 3's. I think that's much more realistic, and easier to work around.


It's up to you which way you want to go, or if you want to create a new character altogether, but some changes need to be made.


I know I'm a bit of a psycho about details, but I just want this superhero RP to be realistic >8( xP

If you'd posted this before Riddle, and lowered your stats (since they're a little overpowered right now) and added a better weakness (because electricity and fire are a weakness for most people anyway and there's nothing about any limits or restrictions to his power in there), I probably would have accepted it. But... We already pretty much have this character already. Same power, same appearance, etc...


So sorry, but I can't approve of your character. But if you want to come up with something else, or change this guy's power and give him more balanced stats, feel free 8)


(For reference, 5 is the max for stats, excluding power mastery, unless you have a power that directly effects a stat. And 5 is still pretty unrealistic for a character without a power or a helluva lot of training and shit.)

Well, as for limits, I think it would be easiest to explain as such: he has no time limit or usage limit on his power to pull fears into the realm of reality, BUT to actually cause fear, he must use chemicals and/or basically try to frighten his opponent as a normal person would. So, a limit would be the time it takes crafting toxins and such. If someone isn't afraid, there isn't much he can do them using fear - that's where the need for combat training comes in.


Hope this was what you meant. If not, shoot me a message somewhere and I'll try to explain better. (Just waking up, brain is still only half awake.)

Appearance:



Mary’s hair is easily the first thing you see on the girl, a shocking blue-green dye job she tries to get done regularly. Even so, white blonde hair pokes out from her roots at least an inch, before it meets the bi-colored straight hair that reaches just below her shoulder blades. She has pale skin that her trimmed eyebrows practically blend into and her round, dull grey eyes stay behind thick-framed glasses, her lips are full and only a tone off her pale skin. Is of average height, has a hint of an athletic build and can usually be found wearing trendy clothing.


Personality:



Mary is more like an enigma; her thoughts are hard to place because she rarely says her opinion, being as indecisive as she is. That in no way means she doesn’t talk, as she is often friendly with customers and can be found chatting with friends. She is rather curious, especially when it comes to other people’s powers but she is rather closed off when it comes to hers.


History:


Mary had a rather normal childhood; she grew up under a mother and father with an older brother in a duplex that was close to her elementary school. In middle school she was picked on like a regular teen hitting puberty, and in high school she had joined the swimming team. It wasn’t until grade 10 that a catalyst had hit her normal everyday –life, her powers…


At first she thought she was only gifted with one; she still remembered standing behind the blocks at the swim meet. Her heart was pounding in her chest and she remembered them telling her to picture the audience naked. When she had looked up next, it was no longer a picture in her head, as she could focus past the audience’s clothes. When she darted her eyes back forward, she was surprised to be able to see through the swimsuit of the girl in front of her. Not only that, but her eyes refocused on her skeletal structure as well.


A bad experience to learn she had X-ray vision, but just as she was honing in on how to turn it off, the power was gone. She found herself wondering how she had gotten the power, unless it was a specific object or person in the room. It was a day before she got it again, and she practically slammed into an open locker, when her vision once again cleared over. Mary had thought she was gifted with temporary X-ray vision until another power had showed up in her arsenal.


Enhanced Regeneration.


This power was a little harder to find, but once again discovered near the pool, as she slid on the wet concrete. Scraping her knees and elbows, she watched as the wounds healed themselves and was astonished to find the power. From then on, she tried to injure herself when she found her eyes unable to see through things. It only resulted in self-mutilation marks that got her sent off to therapist recommended by her family doctor.


When Mary tried to tell the woman of her ailments, she found that the doctor only nodded her head like she understood. Mary was forced to see the woman for a full year after that first visit, learning now not to say anything about her gifts. From the 5 months of trying to injure herself though, the girl ended up with a tougher body and psych. After finally being released from the therapist, she tries to learn of her powers through a different method…waiting.


In her 11th year, just as she was getting her job at a popular CD shop, she had been able to name four of her powers. It was after acquiring one after the other that she finally recognized that the ability was on the whole day. The question came to mind then, if she had been born with powers and just hadn’t the chance to use them yet. There was no way she could ask her parents though, as the two of them were activists against the super hero population. So she continued with her powers in silence, as she gained control over those she learned earlier fast, but it was hard when they chose such random times to appear.


It wasn’t until her final year of high school that she had decided to use her powers for good, as she now had now named six of her powers. Mary still worked at the CD shop by then, and was thrown for a loop when two young troublemakers had entered the shop. Just as she was telling the pair to leave, they had locked the front door and turned back to her with rather crooked smiles. Her hands tightened on the counter, and at the same time the force in the room seemed to solidify. The boys tried to move towards her, but were unable to fight against the pressure of the air in the room.


Mary found her hands to be glowing an odd silvery color, and as she lifted to release the counter, the windows in the front of the shop broke open like a shot. The two boys fell down, and the blonde found herself with another power, although she wasn’t exactly sure what it was. It was this event that triggered a thought in a girl though… her parents had thought that heroes destroyed more than what they were worth.


Almost as if the Hillcrest Institute knew what she was thinking, an invitation was sent for the girl to continue her ‘studies’ there. The information delved into what the institute actually was, and Mary accepted, quickly moving into the institute under the guise that she was moving away. Due to the special circumstances of her powers, they tried their best to train her in what she already knew... although their time was limited, and it was odd training and test period, Hazard, as she was now referred, acquired agent status.

My own tip hobo, is to make a character that isn't so dangerously similar to another player's, and to give them a reasonable, defeatable weakness. Only being able to kill him by decapitation followed by cauterization is more of a strength than a weakness. In the case of Heller; I'd just scrap him and go from new. Even with your revamp, this character is basically just a more powerful version of riddle's. The stats also seem a little high, though I see you placed a 2 into endurance to attempt some balancing.


Just for the sake of diversity, you should probably choose another power ^^'


This probably seems a little rude, but from where I'm looking, it's hard to be any gentler than this ^^'


Of course this isn't from a moderator, or Fhaux, the one running the thread, it's just my own personal view that you might find somewhat helpful.

Age: 17


Ability: Dimension jumping


Description: Essentially, Wade can disappear at will, and reappear somewhere else. When he disappears, he travels along another "dimension-" which is, though, entirely black to his view- and then pops back into the world wherever he goes. The dimension he travels in is empty, a gravity-less void. To travel through it, he usually uses momentum from earlier but sometimes uses some form of propulsion; namely, a small jet-like device that runs on electricity. It blows air from the "real world" and usually is only used for emergencies- pretty much a mobile hairdrier. Although Wade can tell- if he concentrates- whether he is occupying the same space as a solid in the real world, he has to be very careful; wouldn't want to reappear half in the ground or anything....


Strengths: Wade can evade attacks, go through walls, or simply disappear to go unnoticed if he's standing still. No one can reach him when he vanishes. Experience travelling through the other dimension has given him an exceptional perception of distance and speed.


Weaknesses: He can only travel so far; although momentum never slows without friction or air, if he travels too far he loses track of where he is in relation to the real world. Appearing in the same place as another object would prove fatal, so he can't use his power in dense areas like forests. His perception of whether he is in empty space or inside a solid is faint and takes time. Also, the longer he is in the dimension, the harder it is to get out.

Power Mastery: 7. He doesn't disappear unintentionally, but he may disappear and appear too early or too late; his perception of distance or speed in the other dimension isn't perfect, and he has to struggle slightly every time he switches.


Appearance: Wade is thin, with a mess of brown hair. A classic mop look. His body and face are small, and he might appear shy, green eyes always darting around. He has a Hispanic complex, but his home country is America and his language mostly English. He usually wears a gray jacket, for the sole purpose of having a deep pocket for his jet propeller.


Personality: He talks fast, moves faster, and never sits still. He is completely at ease in his movements, not awkward or clumsy in the least. Wade is willing to strike up conversation with anyone, talkative but friendly, and comfortable meeting strangers. He'll never say a bad word about anyone; and, well, if he hates someone, he'd more likely take action against them than bother bad-mouthing them. He can be rash at times, but he's always confident.


History: Wade was raised by his father and an elder brother for his younger years, tagging along after him and pelting him with questions. Naturally curious about everything, he learned about how the world worked at an early age. He did horribly at school, intelligent enough but too free and independent to get along well with teachers. He was once kicked out of his school, to the great disapproval of his father.


He found his powers at about age 12. His was a very risky power, and it was only good fortune that prevented disaster. He found that he could control his power from the very start- no spontaneous disappearances- but the first few times, he didn't know what exactly triggered the switch, and his father was rather surprised to find him disappeared out of the backseat of the car.


He continued experimenting all throughout middle and high school, developing his sense of distance and speed. He escaped disaster often despite his mistakes, and once, because of his power. A tornado hit his area when he was 15; terrified, he shifted into the other dimension.


There he waited for what seemed like an eternity.


When he did reappear, he found himself nearly unable; he had stayed too long, and it took long minutes of struggle to tip him over into the real world. He found his house was all but blown down, as well as his neighbors'. His family hadn't survived.


It was then that he was recruited into the supernatural community, and decided to devote his life to using his power for good. He trained in weaponry for a year, and learned to utilize his power to his advantage in a fight. He was also given his propeller to reduce the risk in using his power. Wade, then, eventually christened himself with a codename; Vanish.
 
I just can't scrap him altogether. I adjusted his stats, and added a few minor changes. Enough to at least make a difference. Well, I'm doing that now..

Ability: Full Mental Access


Description: Can have full access to her brain. Ability includes: enhanced intelligence, mental manipulation, clairvoyance, enhanced senses (adds mendacity detection, tolerance and danger intuition)


Strengths: Immune to mental attacks, heightened senses, tolerance (can push herself a little more. Can also create a shield: the nerves in her skin and muscles go numb to protect her from most blows) when all is lost for her, her mind automatically switches to stress mode. Her power moving from her mind to her body for a short period of time, enough to escape/have a lead/ etc.


Weaknesses: Others with mental powers are immune to her attacks. Prone to headaches and overload; must have a yearly break (24-hour total brain shutdown, or she can't use her powers for an entire week. Both options have their disadvantages.) Stress mode may temporarily weaken her. Can currently only last 2 minutes, max. Shield cannot protect her from skin breakage.

She looks pretty thin for her age. She doesn't believe she's the best looking girl in the world, but she certainly has the brains to make up for it. She usually keeps her dark hair curly and wears glasses (nonprescription. She doesn't need them, but they correspond with her civilian identity) People say that she has a weird style that changes everyday, but she doesn't have a set style. She simply wears what she likes, and therefore, likes what she wears.


Personality: Clarity is a college student. She's very shy and quiet, doesn't like to make herself noticed, and doesn't believe her opinion is valued. In fact, she's more comfortable with giving others facts rather than telling them how she feels. (Oh, and she's really smart.)


History: Clarity has always been seen as a prodigy to her elders since she was born. With her smarts, she had the ability to conquer anything (intelligence wise.) However, it didn't help that she couldn't fit well into school. Kids made fun of her for being so smart. She had made some friends as a kid, but people's views about the world, and others, change. People's view of her hadn't changed, however, but she didn't care much. She was bound to do great things, and that's all that mattered to her. She only wished it would happen sooner.


During her high school freshman year, she had been teased the most. A guy one day decided to push her Dow for.not agreeing with him. She was so angry, she thought about physically harming him, if only she was strong enough.


Then something happened.


He exact places she visualized hitting him, were actually hurting. There was so much harm done, he had to go to the hospital for his damaged nerves. She had no choice but to leave her school. She became homeschooled for a few months, where she used that time to learn more about her powers.


Once she got the hang of her powers for the most part, she transferred to a new school, and used some of her powers to her advantage (such as pranking, by altering one's speech, for example.) Eventually, she grew tired of her insignificant use of there abilities, and found a way to use them for actual good, by becoming a local anonymous superhero. (She will give herself the name Mimori during the rp.)
