As Shazam flew over NY he looked down to see a battle invovling a great deal of combatants taking place. Earth's Mightiest Mortal stopped in place above the scene. He looked back over at the Helicarrier hovering just over the water just like how he left it. Shazam then turned back to the scene below trying to figure out who the villains are and who are the good guys, maybe the guy who baked Nick Fury from the shadows is down there as well.

Peter descended upon a nearby roof, he turned around to see that no one had given chase so he quickly changed out his suit and swung back to his safehouse. When he walked in he was happy to see that no one had ransacked the place and he sat down on the bed. He then decided to call up Gwen and see how she was doing in his remote safehouse. He was sure she would be safe there, until all this blew over. However when he pulled out his cell phone he saw no signal, Doom must have destroyed the phone lines too. Peter sighed before collapsing onto the bed. He contemplated whether he should go see her personally, but he reconsidered he knew he couldn't leave this was his home.

Let me just say if my lightning killed him then there wouldn't have been anything left of him. I fired a small concussive bolt akin to what you normals call tasers. However someone must've got him from the shadows. I healed him and cast an illusion to make him seem like he is still dead. But if he woke up and his assailant remained after I left. Then they probably got him again. My only clue is webbing that hit me mid flight." Shazam replied.
