Fantasy Martial Arts Role Play Interest Check

Hey everyone, I'm working on an original - though heavily inspired by something else - rp. It's martial arts based, no guns, cars are not truly the focus, cell phones exist as does the internet, energy attacks from chi, and more exist. Please read the overview and ask if you have any questions or concerns.
Ideally detailed writing and people who can stick with us and work with our scheduled.

I am a college student and journalist (as well as the chief editor) so my time is limited, but I can still make one post a day.

Please, no planet busting. Try to be somewhat grounded. If you think this is like Dragon Ball.... you might be on to something. It's inspired with the martial arts and energy based attacks, but we're not going SSJGSSJB and shaking the very universe with a punch, but be creative in your attacks and make up your own martial arts school - if you want.

Overview & Introduction

The earth is home to many cultures and ways of life, but one thing all beings have in common is the use of martial arts.


For hundreds of years people were taught the schools, many of which have branched off so much that the diversity of every school is vast and unique, each with uses and capabilities.


The world is vast and diverse with different races and species, alien life mingling with humans to the point of normality of seeing new and different otherworldly beings.


Thought the world is large with open plans, large forests and all types of biomes, massive cities scatter the land and fight to hold the annual martial arts tournament. Cities with sprawling life and skyscrapers. Though despite technology, guns are ineffective due to chi. Though a military exists, society has come to know they’re ineffective.


The World Martial Arts Tournament is the way to be recognized as not only the best fighter, but to win money and have your skills known to the world. But a darker threat looms over as greedy teachers work to win, some going to extreme lengths to defeat the other schools.


If all things divide people by their differences, one thing unites all: Chi. Chi is the very essence of most fighters, being the life force, one can manipulate to their own use. Some schools teach students to harness this for augmentation while others may use it to make chi blasts. Different and special techniques have been done with chi. Though it has its limits. Too much use can exhaust the user, which works very much the same as physical stamina. One must allow time to regain their strength to use more.

Chi

Chi is an energy source that all beings rely on. It is the very flow of energy that can be converted for attacks. It is the very thing that created life and all beings possess. Some people cannot use chi and this is simply because of the complexity of it and strain on the body, though those who use it meld it with their body like a second sense and aids them in martial arts, healing or other attacks.

Martial Arts

A fighting style that works on focus, timing, precision and art. Martial artists have an artistic flow and unique style of fighting and each martial art school has a different focus. There are multiple schools of martial arts, each with their own focus and use, but most include the use of chi, normally for those who show potential to use it correctly or who ask.[/bg\

Setting

A diverse world of many races, creeds and sub-cultures, the earth is littered with large sprawling high-tech cities.

Completely original world with 5 major continents. The land is far more diverse in its biomes with large, thick and dark forests to expansive deserts and rocky plains. Structures can be as arbitrary as flat lands of water falls and grass with pillars of 200-foot-high earth with grass on top.

The animal life is very diverse, but like earths, except for more life, like extinct animals.

The world is littered with high tech cities and dense populations, surrounded by vast open lands in between them.

The world is run by a single governmental power that primarily has very little presence save for global currency

Combat

Combat is done via martial arts and weapons, typically swords, poles, staff, pikes, etc.

There are stats to each class which dictates what your capabilities are.Chi can be used to make energy blasts, flight, explosions, etc.

Martial Arts: 0/3 –
Skill focusing on the level of one’s martial arts. One point means novice and three meaning advanced. No points mean brawler/street level fighting.

Strength: 0/3
This skill focuses on how physically powerful one is. Someone with one or no points will never be able to lift a boulder the size of their body. Chi can be used to enhance strength by one point, however.

Chi: 0/3
This skill determines one’s ability to manifest and exert attacks, blasts, beams, or other techniques via their chi, such as attributing a point temporarily to another area for weaker chi. The higher the level the more one can do.

Durability: 0/3
A passive skill that deals with how much damage one can take. One point may allow you to take a few punches directly, but three allows you to handle extraordinary attacks head on.

Speed: 0/3
This skill determines how fast one can move and attack. This can be improved with weighted clothing, which hinders strength and speed.

Yes, I'm just finalizing everything and finishing the tweeks needed. I have to balance college and this, so it might be open, ideally, Monday. I'm going to shoot for earlier, of course, but better to not give false sense of hope.

Good question, I answered just a second ago. I'm shooting for ASAP, but I have a few things to work out first and I have school to balance. Maybe Monday at the latest... latest, but with Thursday and Friday, I should have those days open for a four day weekend to work on it.
