Emanuel grew out of his combative nature from his teens and is now relatively passive in arguments. He doesn't like to get involved and will actively avoid conflict. He makes an exception if one of the residents is being bullied for their abilities. Backstory
Marshwood Home for Gifted Children has been in Vozetic family for generations, so Emanuel grew up with a lot of kids with abilities in the care of his father. He almost saw them as siblings in a way, though as a child, it was quite confusing to have so many family members coming and going so often. He struggled with the more aggressive children his father took in and, for a while, became quite resentful towards them. Their aggression got his father's attention and took it away from him, and Emanuel found himself feeling lonely. They didn't deserve to stay in the home if they were so ungrateful for it. In his teen years, he got in quite a few fights with these kids.

When Emanuel turned 18, he moved out, separating himself from the family and creating a life for himself. He didn't want his life to be so focused on his fathers attention and approval, he chose to focus on what he wanted in life. He went through multiple jobs trying to find his passion, eventually going to medical school and becoming a doctor. He was dead set in his medical career when his father fell ill.

He was initially reluctant to take over the home after the childhood he spent there, but he was his father's only child and he had an inoperable cancer, someone had to take care of the children already living there. He took charge and, after a month, his father passed away.

Initially, he was quite obviously unexperienced with the other staff taking much of the control with little input from him, but over time, he got to know the children there and what they needed. He made notes on important things like medical needs, allergies, anxiety triggers... After a few months, he was almost an expert.

You can get along with him if you're able to keep up with his enthusiasm and the fact that he can go from sitting down to not being able to sit still. Boredom tends to set in very easily with Winston, he is a person who needs something to keep him occupied. Winston tends to goof off and be on the more comical side. He's funny, tries to make people laugh and smile.

The color of snow, Cass's hair used to be long enough that it nearly touched his waist but he had it cut when he arrived at Marshwood. Now his hair is short and messy, with his bangs falling forward to hide his eyes.

Due to his upbringing, Cassiel has a docile demeaner and he is rather soft-spoken. He tries his best to not become a bother to anyone and if that means going out of his way to avoid confrontation then he will do so.

For those he is not particularly close to, he is polite and somewhat distant towards them until he gets the chance to warm up to them. He had been conditioned at the church to follow orders without question, a habit that he is trying hard to break now that he is away from their influence.

At the church his opinion did not matter and because of this he has a hard time making important decisions, especially since he fears that his decisions will inconvenience those around him. He can come across as somewhat timid due to his innate instinct to avoid confrontation or making someone upset.

Cass was born with a pair of white wings growing from his back that have a wingspan of roughly thirteen feet. It has been shown that the wings are durable enough to resist damage from weapons and projectiles. Given his small stature, his wings are long enough to cover his whole body which aids in defense. If Cass choses to do so, he can change the material make-up of his feathers, in turn changing them from soft and downy to razor sharp.

1. With his wings comes the ability of flight, but the downside to this is that Cass was born with hollow bones to allow his wings to hold his weight. This means that Cass can break a bone easier than he normally would had he been born with normal bones.

2. His feathers have been shown to absorb water, so if he is tossed into a pool or any other deep body of water his wings will grow heavy and will drag him down. He also doesn't know how to swim so that doesn't help the situation either.

Trigger Warning: Abuse

Cassiel was left on the steps of a small town church when he was a baby. The members of the church took one look at the wings growing out of his back and immediately believed that he was an angel sent to them from the heavens. Growing up, Cassiel was groomed to be the "perfect angel" and was subsequently punished whenever he failed to live up to the standards placed on him.

His red eyes were a point of contention for the members of the church, who believed that the demonic color sullied his otherwise angelic appearance. This lead to the nuns punishing Cassiel if he ever made eye contact with any of them. Every Sunday during service, Cassiel was forced to stand at the alter with a veil hiding his eyes while the members of the town came up to touch his wings, fully believing the white feathers held the power of heaven.

The nuns demanded total and complete obedience from Cassiel and any attempts at rebelling was met with punishment. This lasted for years, until just a few months after Cassiel's sixteenth birthday when everything came crashing down. Cassiel was being given his punishment for accidentally meeting the gaze of one of the nuns but after years of abuse, it was all too much. Cassiel felt something snap inside of him and he blacked out. When he woke up the nun was dead and the room was splattered with her blood.

Panicked, he failed to notice the blood that covering his wings and upon hearing voices in the hallway, Cassiel fled through the window. Marshwood found him a few days later just outside of another town, dehydrated and starving and took him in.

Their entire manner is difficult to forget. Flairs for the dramatic in voice and movement, waved hands, swoons, and a passion for all things theatrical are quick to get on people's nerves. Everything from his words to countenance, bleeds flippancy.

When not sporting a chunk of hard candy between teeth, he has a mindless habit of chewing the inside of his mouth.

Akin to light of which moths wistfully flock, flower nectar engorged by butterflies or a pack of dogs tailing mutton meat, there are those forever drawn to the brilliant epicentre of a room. Basking drunk in adulation and light, it is easy to forget wraiths that meander and haunt sidelines can also relish attention given for all the wrong reasons.

Wanton and pestilent; like that of a leper, Rat proudly wears a thick skin of disaster. He is an out of sync applause, an ill-matched puzzle and mosaic of unrest. Mouth full of war and eyes that croon honey-thick derision, a masochistic glutton for weaving ire and thorns of annoyance. Corrosive to even the most temperate souls, his sheer oddities prove to be impish and exhausting. Reputation recalcitrant and almost eager to garner notoriety, they prioritise entertainment and recognition rather than opinions (or feelings) of others.

Such insouciance can be soil for shoots of envy. To have a lack of concern for condemnation is almost unheard of, but in abundance the virtue quickly leads to inconsideration. Uncouth, he runs his mouth and spills unpleasantries almost as easily as breathing. It’s satisfying to wind someone up and watch them tick out the steps he expects. The angrier the better, reliable as clockwork.

Accusations of “unsound mind” aren’t of fraud origin, behaviour curious and perpetually theatrical. From introductions; flourished hands paired with the dubious name Rat, to spitting saliva at someone for asking too many questions, he’s a varying balance of peculiar and downright diabolical. Notable titles of deranged and infuriating are attested in every interaction, and volatile as gunpowder, once pinched the right string between tweezers, rash carelessness is easy to pull loose.

Personal space non-existent, social-normalcy ignored, slithering out of nowhere to intrude conversations: Rat prides himself on being a terrible little nuisance.

He also prides himself on being completely fake.

At the crux of Rat, patron saint of deceit: a liar, con-artist, and method-actor who has mastered how to present himself to others.

Mesopotamian Gilgamesh, intent to stay awake long enough to become immortal. Consequences of Sisyphus, invoking everlasting punishment. The wistful prince of Troy, Tithonus, granted immortality but forever ageing. Achilles, dipped in the river Styx for eternal life, yet the lyre tendon of his heel still snipped. The Holy Grail, a chalice that preserves, lost to history.

It is known there are no dark recesses to hide and cheat cessation, but of all people, he was never meant to live long.

Born premature, childhood was the sterile linoleum of a paediatric ward and restrictive leash to an IV. Birthdays were milestones of survival, and bagged prescription drugs clutched in hand like dead pheasants were the prize— cost, of that existence. Weak immune system cast algid fog over a starved childhood, and under the impression of dying young, adopted a trait of valuing small details. He learned to look at things, treat information with grandiose significance.

Stretches of seafoam curtains cleaving beds did nothing to stifle leaked voices spoken soft at expired hours, bowed breath uneven from a gaping mouth or scratch of thin blankets. The buzzing ceiling held a nauseating tune, splashing metallic glare over greasy crayons and graffitied magazines, cut out snowflakes strung near an incorrect clock and a television with a misplaced remote— stuck on repeat episodes of a game-show.

Grief was a bride that wore a gown of medical scrubs and surgical gloves. Quiet feet of staff tendering the tiles, nurse’s badges clicking against steel bed railings as they fussed with plastic fluid tubes. But observation was something that could not be easily excavated from a body, divided from the muscles of hand and heart, recognising despair when he saw it. Hope razored down to crumbling remnants of a citadel and tender-pink bone, in the lingering question, how are you feeling today?– in the pale colour of tired desperation, in the eyes glossed with rheum and mouth full of saltwater and gravedigger dirt.

The death rattle of phlegm slathered lungs, faces raised like forlorn hatchlings, mouths wide as flatlines moved across electric screens, it became his home like sleep. Once unquestionably amicable, now steeled in apathy that waits in the face of death ought to be made omen.

Dying was a wound, pity was salt, and it was easier to repel others than allow them to deepen the sting. No need to impress took root, to be nobody of importance to anyone, a paper crane built out of lies and half-imagined concepts.

To be known is too close to existing, a reminder; fear, that he is not a glass illusion undefined and shameless. Built of skeleton bones and pale skin that feels bloodless by the day, being a heretic is a safeguard against conversations, truths, he can no longer carry. His commitment to deceit is at best, commendable, but to feast or to salve pitied wounds remains to be decided.

Abilities

As the name suggests, Rat, original harbourer of plague, is a walking bioweapon. His strength lies in the distribution and immunity of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and toxic substances; withering nature, stagnating water and spoiling food. Being in his presence is (thankfully) harmless, as he’d much rather kill people with kindness ♡.

Whilst showing immunity beyond the capability of a human body, Rat’s already precarious health has slowly deteriorated. Some days there is a healthy hue to skin and hair, other times painted marble alabaster. Gaunt and ghastly, almost a living corpse. There is rasp in his voice and god-knows what in his veins, but despite fluctuating states, it doesn’t discourage his behaviour.

Born with a gilded spoon pressed to the flat warmth of his tongue, there’d never been time for self-reflection. Dreams and the illusion of free-will were crafted out of childish idealism, fated to fulfil what had been charted in detail from boyhood: a burden, marionette of legacy and luxury.

Anchored by the perfectionist design of his family’s making, Grayson encapsulates every part he never wanted to play. Mature, or some semblance of it. Ambition is his lodestone, dawn-lit wisps of enjoyment from the addictive strings of success wound tendon deep. But an identity formed and calcified around the vulnerable anatomy of grades and parents’ approval is a double-bladed pendulum, spear-headed precedence that drowns the smallest of failures into suffocating terror. He’s wreathed tight, bridled so taut that any strayed seams become a noose to the slope of the throat.

A creature of compassion, it is the pale hand that cups a bug from bedroom to garden, stows away romance novels, and wears his heart emblazoned crest-like on a sleeve. An empty feeling covets for distraction, danger— to shrug control and feel the thrill of mortality. Found and relished in the risky glimpses of shimmering ardour, ephemeral rushes in the peak of a speedometer, drink of cigarette, or a railing of a bridge, he’s quick to become an ark of lost ambition. Reckless, dismissive to obligations, snoozing alarms, there is leonine laziness not yet indulged and unknown divine freedom from letting a stray thread split into an entire seam.

Childhood was a cave.

Outside coloured spring lilac, inside lined morion quartz and mute greetings. Everything drawn as a precise staccato breath, any faint remnant of adolescent enjoyment was stifled in a blanket of overcast sky. A certain distant, reserved kind of apathy took its place, an austere kid with gold-lacquered birthright and a comfortable trust-fund. Resplendent in its security and mythic grandeur to others, it was a childhood lost in a miasma of decay, greased on prayer and verses of the bible.

Hauntings bathed in rot and blood, faces torn asunder with grief and bodies a ruin of soured viscera. The stages of decomposition went as thus, ashen flesh taking a green hue, dried corneas and skin slippage, writhing blankets of flies, purest of putrefaction as larvae eggs hatched to strip wet bone of the surrounding soft tissues.

It was not psychiatrist or medication that remedied the issue, but unorthodox parenting sealing atlas-weighted fear into a tight box, compartmentalised away for an illusion of normalcy. Morbidity associated with funerals and loss settled home in Grayson’s body like river-laden silt, and what was once heavy and asphyxiating through youth became only an inconvenience. Indifference rolled from boned shoulders, sombre-toned heir swathed in his short-tempered arrogance. A pretentious juvenile with a bad mouth, yet redundantly countered with a streak of strict pacifism.

Declining grades receded in a slow crawl down his spine— a testament to his gossamer-thin disguise for struggling mental health. After lacking identity from years of prioritising only success, feeling more absent than river Lethe nothingness, undefined oblivion, a pinnacle was met. Against fabricated nature and fuelled by curiosity borne of extrinsic discontent, he chanced a party, a shot of tequila (or five), a dodgy tattoo to the ankle, and further on in the night, stained the curvatures of his hands in wine, split knuckles that sung a psalm of retribution.

Grayson’s memory is foggy on how he managed to stumble his way home, less-hazy on keying their black BMW car, and perfectly pristine on greeting his father with a fist to the jaw.

Abilities

The ability to hear, see, communicate and physically interact with spirits of the deceased. A power that’s far more inconvenient than practical, especially since he has no control over what they decide to do.

Gray’s presence attracts the dead, giving rise to peculiarities that most people can notice: Snatching floating items and angrily putting them back where they belong, glaring at the flickering lights or snapping at whatever, whoever, is tapping the wall at 3am. Half the time it feels and looks like he’s trying to control invisible toddlers. He’s sleeping? Time to play with the light-switches. He’s looking a fraction too calm? Time to pick up some expensive fine china. He’s having an important conversation? Time to stand within eye-sight and stare.

Albeit an undesired ability, there are small benefits to seeing and speaking with dead people. Ghosts like to gossip, and he very often hears of things he shouldn’t know. When someone is crying in the bathroom, smokers puffing away at the back of the building, people’s general areas to hang out, what the ghosts think about a certain somebody’s obnoxious decorations, etc. For those that find out he has ears and eyes lurking everywhere, they may find it intrusive.

Nina is a deeply flawed individual. And she’s much more flawed than she lets on. Nina tries her best to play the part of a sweet, kind girl. She’s afraid that showing the flawed parts of herself would make the people around her hate her. She holds herself to an unreasonable standard and doesn’t allow herself to trust other people. She pretends to be someone that most would want to protect; naive, but kind and outgoing.

Deep down, she is slightly mischievous and a little manipulative, she is a genuinely kind person. (despite convincing herself otherwise.) It’s an age old story, Nina’s parents had expectations for their children, Nina didn’t fit them. Things were okay at first, she had her parents' love. An autism diagnosis was all it took to change that. They couldn’t believe they had a mentally ill child. They truly believed that because she was autistic she would amount to nothing. And they were very vocal about it. Nina could barely breathe without her parents' criticism. She tried to be good enough for them. Her attempts were met with ridicule and mockery. “That kind of thing is for normal girls, Nina.” “You shouldn’t bother with that, you’d just embarrass yourself.” Nina believed them.

The discovery of her powers changed things for Nina. She finally had a use. So her parents' plans changed. Obsessively teach her to use her powers to benefit themselves. Nina was foolish enough to think this meant that they would be kinder to her, but the opposite seemed to happen. Nina was chastised for hours on end for a single mistake. Anytime she said she was tired from using her powers, she was punished. Anytime the poor girl cried thanks to her parents' cruelty then would soften their tones and lie to her.

Thankfully, Nina had one person looking out for her. Markus Lee was her twin brother. And her favorite person. He treated her like a person, he was kind to her and tried his best to shield her from harm when he could. He probably tipped off Marshwood or something to get them to come take his sister or something idk. Nina has to be making physical skin-to-skin contact to use her abilities, and it takes a great deal of energy and concentration. Over using it could lead to headaches, nosebleeds, losing consciousness, and concussion. When manipulating memories, Nina tends to feel the emotions the person she’s looking into the mind of was feeling. It can lead to a great deal of emotional exhaustion. With more practice, she could probably affect someone's muscle memory, but she isn’t at that point yet.

The heat of rebellions runs through Auguste's veins. It's his lifeblood and it thums gently underneath his softspoken appearance. One of many distinct and disgusting laws within his mother's tyranny was that he had to buzz his head. Because of this, now in the present day, Auguste has grown his hair out to his shoulders. There is a massive white patch in the black abyss - whether it's a hereditary feature or out of shock he isn't quite sure. Vague, foggy memories of his father point to the former being true, but he wouldn't say that he has the most reliable of minds. Sometimes though, practicality must outweigh style and the cumbersome burden of hair falling into his eyes means that for a good portion of the time, he has his hair pulled back in a messy bun or a top knot. Especially when he's trying to perform.

Eyes

The resemblance to his father, for the most part, is uncanny. Between the three, he was definitely his father's son. However, he was unfortunately given his mother's eyes. Piercing and terrifying, they have this kind of stare to them which is extremely unsettling when he needs them to be. But that practice has long since been retired. Nowadays, they hold a tired weariness to them for the most part. Dark circles from late nights of insomnia and night terrors round them out, making them appear more sunken in than they should be. Though, it should be noted that on the rare occasions that Auguste gives a smile, it's first noticeable in his eyes before his mouth actually begins to move.

The wire of a rabid, starving wolf is perhaps more terrifying than a bodybuilder. There is a quiet desperation attached to Auguste's frame - built of just muscle and bone, he hasn't been able to develop much fat from the life he's led. While on most, this might seem to be the pinnacle of body goals, on him it appears more like he's starving and malnourished. His massive frame eating itself alive just to keep itself moving. Ever since his living conditions have become more stable, though, he's slowly been putting on more weight and filling out his frame - allowing the massive muscles to stop breaking down and actually develop. Because of this, he is slowly becoming both more imposing, but less rabid.

Auguste grew a lot in a very short amount of time, and he wasn't able to fully supplement his closet to keep up with the growth spurts. Therefore, he has a mismatch of clothes that are usually just a little bit too small for him to be extremely comfortable. Black is his color of choice, but every now and then he shows off the tiniest slivers of color like blues, greens, and browns. Matching the general dark aesthetic are black combat boots to round out the entire look.

Modifications

While not really the type for extra decoration or needles coming anywhere close to his head, he has gotten two separate tattoos. They are both of an extremely personal nature to him, so he quietly does not advertise that they exist. Given the funds, he would elect to remove one of them as he got it in a different time of his life and was coerced into the entire deal to begin with.

They say that people often become the person which they needed in a dark time, and that is no different for Auguste. Auguste needed a gentle hand and a nonjudgmental ear to talk to, so he became that when he became more stable. A gentleness marks his movements, animals tend to flock to him like they can smell the softness on him. And though he doesn't outwardly advertise this part of his personality, it is always there. Ready to be a shoulder to cry on and a foundation to help people rest and recover from the storms around them.

Cleverness marks Auguste's abilities and his ability to create and forge things from nothing is one of his biggest boons. Resourceful and out-of-the-box, he often comes up with solutions to problems marked with creativity, and is often labelled a prodigy in the arts with an immense amount of talent in both music and dance.

Auguste has weathered many storms and still come out the otherside mostly in tact. He struggles with his mental health, as one would when put into the intensely traumatic experience he's had, but Auguste always manages to land on his feet and keep fighting. No matter how stacked the deck may seem, he weathers it out with a stoic calm. And sometimes, even, actively rebelling and making things more difficult for the people that try to force him down.

The massive stature and intimidation to Auguste's appearance is easily undercut when he opens his mouth to speak, as he's often very soft and mild in his tone, never really one to raise his voice above a pleasant conversational volume except for the most dire of circumstances.

Seeing the darkness that the world has to offer has made Auguste particularly sensitive to people around him. Betrayal runs deep within him, and as such he has a rather paranoid view on the people around him. Internalized fear of his own mind has caused him to develop a deep fear of his reactions to people, in turn causing a deep anxiety in him where he both fears people, fears for people, and fears his actions.

His ability to keep fighting and keep moving even when injured gravelly has led to a deep stubborn streak within him which is very hard to dig out of. Especially when it comes to his mindset involving his traumas or the attempt to keep him away from something that he wants. This, added with a rebellious streak, makes it very hard to reason with him when he's in his tunnel vision of needing to get one specific thing.

Skeletons in the closet are always present in people's lives, and Auguste has many skeletons in his closet that he wishes to keep to himself. This has led him to become extremely cagey when it comes to information about himself - he's gotten very good at giving little bits of information without actually saying much about himself. Every little bit of backstory is carefully crafted so that it doesn't lead to any other questions or anywhere close to the massive elephant in the room of whenever he talks about his past.

Pain is inevitable, it's how you react to pain which is the real showing of your personality. Auguste has taught himself to not react, to simply weather out the storm. However, he still has his instincts deep down inside of him to lash out with extreme violence and aggression whenever he feels cornered and threatened. This part of him terrifies the giant, and he's since tried to do everything he can to repress it... not knowing that in reality it's only feeding the beast further.

Auguste, despite his more dour appearance, tends to be interested in things that are of a quieter nature and smaller in the grand scheme of things. A deep appreciation for nature and the small things in life has led to a fondness for stray animals and plants and flowers. As well as soft blankets and nice clothes. Jasmine and soft fragrances of freshly made bread. However, on the other side of that, Auguste is also deeply appreciative of the arts - finding his passions deep within dance and music, and enjoys a great many types of music. This includes everything from rap to folk to heavy metal punk - and he also has a certain fondness of loopholes and rebellion. He likes a good underdog, and he likes protest and activism. Auguste also, despite his outward bellyaching about the entire deal, actually really enjoys attending gigs and concerts and even doesn't mind the odd social event every now and then... Though he'd never ever admit to enjoying it when people challenge him to step out of his comfort zone.

Auguste has a general distaste for obnoxious loudness. He also has general disliking towards people that are pushovers and are outwardly too kind. It makes him intensely wary that they are trying to get something out of him when this occurs. He also has an intense distaste for family and holds a great deal of self-loathing. He also has an extreme hatred for any type of abuser and any kind of guilt trip which makes him a very difficult person to deal with. Outside of this, he also generally is wary around things which are small or things that are easily breakable. He tends to have a distaste for braggarts, government, and police. Playing guitar and composing are chief among his hobbies, but Auguste generally amuses himself with other quieter hobbies that are low in stress and help him relax from anxiety fuelled tailspins. Such as knitting, or birdwatching. He also likes feeding the local stray cats and reading poetry with some nice hot tea. When he's feeling active, he often goes on long hikes in the woods or goes downtown to window shop. He also goes to the gym quite a bit and very rarely will do boxing practice with the sandbags.

Early

Auguste was born a prodigy in the arts. Groomed for success at a young age, his father was a Bolshoi dancer - one of the few Spanish that have managed to make it big in Russia. His mother was a nurse who worked the night shift. He was taught how to sing and dance before he could talk and walk. Put into every single extra curricular at a young age and ran with what stuck. Auguste was taught at a very young age that if he was going to do something, he better put his entire heart into the deal - and to love the entire process of creation rather than just the end results.

He quickly grew a life long passion for music and for dance - definitely being his father's son. But with his father's contacts in the performing arts world, it seemed that he was just being groomed for success. And the hardwork that he put in eventually paid off. Auguste swept the first competition year that he participated in, winning first place across the board in a landslide. Heads were turned and he had the groundwork laid for a highly successful professional year before he hit the age of 10.

This came crashing down quickly because the day after he finished the competiting, he was sent to fetch his father from the study for dinner...

He opened the door.

Auguste's father was hanging from the rafters. Dead.

Helene gave up everything to be with Niccolas. And he tried his best to provide for her and their fledgling family. But before Auguste was born, he suffered a knee blowout and was told that he would never walk without aid again, much less dance. He was stripped of his profession and his passion and they were forced to move back to Madrid where he became a teacher while trying to rehabilitate his knee.

Being stripped from dancing led to a deep depressive spiral that Niccolas never quite escaped from, and when he took his life, Helene's mind snapped pretty quickly afterwards.

Auguste's mom was never the same. Something inside her snapped when she saw the body. And she was forced to stare at a reminder of her lost love. So, she started taking the pain out on her son. Shaving his head, moving him far away from anything he knew as they went to Paris. On good days, she'd forget that he existed so consumed with her grief that she'd forget that he was there. On bad days, she'd scream and sob and throw things and hit him.

Auguste was traumatized from finding his father's corpse. And he learned that anything reminding his mother of their old life would make the pain so much worse. So he began repressing things inside of him. He was also intensely bullied as a kid, shaved head and bad French led to kids being particularly cruel. To help himself survive he became almost completely unresponsive to people trying to hurt him. Eventually, one of his bullies became his best friend: Charlie.

Charlie was... amazing. His best friend. Old money and gave him a safe haven from the pain surrounding him. And then he made a really stupid decision: he kissed Charlie.

His friend wasn't very receptive to Auguste's feelings, to say the least. And Auguste ran away from his only friend. That was when he found Gabriel. Gabriel invited him into a family that would take care of him and would support him no matter what... And that's how Auguste joined a gang.

He found quickly that he liked having an outlet for all the pain he went through on a daily basis. Pain became anger, and anger led to him being very successful at beating people into the ground or psyching people out. He was... insane, but he needed to be. And he was one of their most loyal and terrifying members. But it just wasn't him. His self-esteem was tanking, he was feeling worse and worse, and his situation whenever he returned home got worse and worse.

He tried to kill himself one day. Charlie found him in the hospital, and began trying to fix their friendship.

Charlie found Auguste to be incredibly pretty as a kid, but he was raised extremely Catholic. When Auguste took the dive, it scared him and he pushed Auguste away. It wasn't until he figured out that being gay was okay through Auguste that he was able to reconcile this about himself. And he managed to find Auguste just in time to try to save him from himself through guilt trips and begging to hang out with him. They became best friends again, and they Skype now every week.

Now

Tearing away from the gang was painful, as most growing pains were. They didn't like that he was quitting, but to be quite honest he felt... better when he was doing dumb shit with Charlie like playing in his shitty punk band or doing dance classes to hit on the girls in there. It quickly became apparent that they were not actually his friends, they were just using him to keep themselves safe. So he tore away from them more and more.

He was back in the arts, and he was back doing the things that he loved. And heads were turning once more. But more than that, he needed to escape his mother. So, he left for Marshwood - escaping to live out his final bits of childhood in relative peace.

Auguste was cursed with a beast inside of him. A wolf that grants him strength and speed and endurance, alongside the ability to bounce back from injuries that would kill normal humans with a shrug and a grin. He can also transform into the wolf. The wolf itself is a reflection of his inner being and as such is actually a lot less of a threat than initially appearing - driven by pure instinct, but calling upon the wolf's strength as a human makes him susceptible to going into frenzies of destruction rather than anything actually productive. It also takes a lot of energy out of him to call upon the strength and it's much easier to outlast Auguste than it is to outfight him.

His energy easily get drained when he's in cities as opposed to when he's in nature and surrounded by forests which give him energy and power.

Looking at Graham, it would be excessively easy to say that he has 0 thoughts. Well, maybe one thought: who he's flirting with for the day and what he might eat later and then sleep. A seemingly simple being, Graham follows pleasure with a wink and a smile and an easygoing manner that seems extremely close to being a lad. Something like a strike of lightning - pure chaos and excitement and gone before you can even blink.

Exceedingly self-aware, he knows he isn't particularly the sharpest tool in the shed. But what he lacks in book smarts he makes up for in an almost unshakeable steady nature and a surprising amount of emotional intelligence and charisma that often takes people by surprise. Simply put, once he has his sights on something, historically speaking, people are usually inclined to giving it to him with very little resistance. And perhaps this is his scariest trait.

It's not that he's particularly forceful, or that he's even particularly scary. It's that he's so disarmingly charming that people find themselves pulled in by his gravity and wanting to do what he asks.

Of course, underneath all of this glib charm he's fucked in the head.

Before Aoife
Born one minute before his fraternal twin Aoife, the two were inseparable from birth. Aoife was always the bold one - the firestarter. The troublemaker. And their parents basically put it on Graham's shoulders to make sure that Aoife didn't get into too much trouble.

She managed to drag him into a lot of trouble, but Graham's sheer charisma and charm managed to get them out of trouble. But, everyone saw him as a kind of arrogant charmer as a result. Which Graham didn't mind, the only people whose opinions mattered to him was his family.

And then, they were playing out in the wild and an avalanche suddenly washed over them all.

Graham survived and was found wandering, shaking, covered in blood, and with this broken expression on the normally chipper boy's face... almost a week later.

Graham was... different after Aoife died. He was angrier, and he spent longer and longer times out on the moors no matter the weather. He lost all of his friends, just searching the moor for whatever. Maybe for his own death. His family sat him down and told him that he needed to shape up or he was going to be sent to the shrink.

Now, Graham comes from a very traditional household and the idea that he may have had to go get psychological help as a totally straight man? Unheard of. Absolutely terrible. He immediately represed all of his grief over his twin sister and they never spoke of her again. Aoife became a banned word in the house, and Graham was left to suffer alone, completely isolated.

But, he managed to put on enough of a mask that he could become something that people thought he used to be. Except now he didn't have his twin as his confidante, he leaned more and more into the charismatic asshole playboy persona that he'd created for himself until Graham managed to convince even himself that he didn't need anybody. And that he was doing great actually, thank you for asking, speaking of which would you like to get some chips, love? He'd like to take you on a ride (wink wonk).

There had been a deep wedge driven between him and his family, though. And even though his mother really tried to help, his father took one look at him and decided that the best thing to do was to completely cut him off from home....

Matt grew up with very... government family. He's really not allowed to talk about it very much. So he doesn't. What is needed to talk about here is that he was isolated from his peers at a young age, had to grow up very quickly, and learned a lot of languages in a very short amount of time.

He grew up extremely utilitarian and traveled a lot as a kid, never really putting roots down. And his parents were so busy that he never really connected to them on an emotional level either. He was raised by a revolving door of people that could take up the slack of taking care of the load. The firing range, the self-defense classes, the languages, and intensive home school programming as he learned from what was practically the best of the best.

And he was told as a young child to repress his powers because of the destructive capabilities that his flames could hold. He could only utilize his frost in... short outbursts in a controlled environment every now and then.

Repercussions
Matt grew to not give a single shit about anyone around him. He walks in a void of nothingness, only propelled forwards by an intense need to create and write - a coping mechanism that he picked up from traveling from place to place as his steadily growing library became his only constant companion.

He's turned into a rather morose character, and one that chases entertainment whether it be from doing dares and random shit for fun or from meaningless flings that he abandons when he grows tired of the person and bored.

Eventually, though, his powers of frost started getting out of hand. So he was instead sent to boarding school before an... incident that would require uncomfortable questions to be asked could arise.

There used to be an urban legend circulated in a very small village hidden in a little pocket of (idk insert random part of the UK; sorry I had a D in geography). A girl covered in jewels and gold would take misbehaving children and turn them into her obedient servants. Not a single person in the village heard of this myth, and neither had their children. That's because only one child had the memory to repeat it. How could this kid be the only one doomed to remember her reign? Long story short...

The golden girl did exist, and she didn't just hypnotize children. The entire village was subject to her whims. Nevertheless, the citizens all functioned as normal except for one thing. They all seemed to be in a permanent state of bliss, but their emotions and personalities were stifled. The few who had strong enough willpower to avoid this either barely escaped with their lives or, unfortunately, were mauled by other villagers.

The village was relatively peaceful until a family arrived.

Said family included a deaf kid who was the only one immune to her power.

You know how the rest of the story goes. Guile hero eventually figures out the cause of the suddenly odd behavior of his family and everyone around him. Proceeds to use wits in order to successfully blend in, pretending he's also under hypnosis. Then gets close enough to knock the golden girl unconscious, thinks she's dead and throws her body in a river.

So the hypnosis is broken and the villagers have their free will back, but it's far from a happy ending. Our deaf hero proceeds to go coo-coo for cocoa puffs after realizing his family remembers absolutely nothing about being under mind control and treats him as if he's having hallucinations. In the end, he's also left wondering if he imagined the entire thing himself.

While the boy spiraled, the girl's body drifted down the river and was discovered by Marshwood.

Ignacio comes off as a cold and an easily angered kid. He walks around expecting people to think he's a monster, so as such acts like a menace on purpose. Ignacio feels out of place in a public setting and around a group of people, so he feels highly agitated and nervous when joining in on public celebrations or get-togethers. Because of his fear of being abandoned Igni is scared that eventually those around him will not stay, and due to this spiral of thinking his emotions can change suddenly. He's prone to having outbursts from the emotions he's trying to bottle up, and it causes his ability to flare up.

Ignacio is straight-forward, and will tell it like it is. He's been through multiple orphanages in the past, but has gotten kicked out of all of them either because of his mouth or because of his ability. Though he is a straight to the point type of person there is a side to him that does yield when treated fairly, or when given food. As a kid he's still learning to understand his emotions, but is having trouble balancing all of his emotions.

He feels he is less than worthy to live, but somehow is still alive day to day. He doesn't believe in a religion, but deep down wants to have a meaning in the world despite what everyone has made him out to be so far. Even though there is a difficult side to Ignacio there is also a side to him that enjoys making someone laugh, and isn't afraid to help. He is willing to stand up for others as well, and will go out of his way if need be. On the down low he's a people pleaser, and enjoys when he's helpful to others.

Even though he's an easily angered kid who doesn't like to be around people Ignacio is just awkward and shy. He wants to be accepted by people, but he has a strong wall up to hide how much he craves to be loved, and cared about. Since joining the school Ignacio has been able to focus on academics, and take care of his personal possessions. He feels grateful for the things he's been able to have, and appreciates that he's been able to have a roof over his head and food for him to eat every day. Usually he will be in his room playing video games, and screaming at the tv.

Ability

Ignacio has a Fire Ability that let's him use fire from nothing. He doesn't need a medium or a fire that's already been started, and he can strengthen the flames and lessen their temperature at will. He's mostly been able to use fire from his hands, and at times his feet as well. When he uses his power his body heats up, and when he's extremely angry or surprised suddenly his hair will catch on fire. Though he can control the fire at will he's only been able to turn fire blue once, and it caused severe burns on his arms up past his elbows. Because of this he wraps his arms up with bandages or wears long sleeve shirts, and wears gloves. He'll rarely let someone touch, grab, and especially wear his gloves, and he cleans them thoroughly every week. Whe he does this he has them back into pristine condition to keep the gloves from getting old. For some reason, these gloves rarely get damaged by his fire, and he's still able to wield fire perfectly fine when he has them on.
