Ah, the weekend had come, and with it the local UNNAMED GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OR CITY THAT THE ISEKH HIGH COMMUNITY EVENT TAKES PLACE's prime Entertainment District. Bright lights and cheerful sounds anywhere you could look, quite frankly it felt like the local version of Vegas. Stores that stocked everything, from the most fashionable clothing to toys and games and all your weeaboo merch you could ever want! Vending machines, food stalls, restaraunts and cafes as far as the eye could see! Arcades, claw machines, all the gashapon you could ever waste your hard life's wealth upon! Ah, truly the most magical place one could imagine. Or at least, the most magical one that was real. There was infinite stuff to do here, as long as one had the money, and whimsy to be able to actually have fun.

1742142682730.jpeg

Gunhild had managed to snag herself some time off to do whatever she wanted, seeing as school was currently closed for the weekend and didn't need to work. This was always one of the bestest places she could ever think of, there was literately nothing that was missing. Well, except for frens sometimes, but it was easy to find and make frens. Personally, she'd asked of Vice Principal Red Develius Develius if she wanted to hang out seeing as it appeared like the only teacher she could get in touch with. Miss Lona was seemingly busy somewhere else for the time being, so maybe the VP wanted to spend time with Gunhild off-hours, unsure how much of a 'fun-wanting' person they might be.

Otherwise, the wall woman slowly paced around the area, the bright lights of the local surroundings glimmering against her eyes to create a soft sparkle, as she considered what to do. Oh the arcades were always super fun! There was always such yummy stuff to try here, Gunhild truly felt like she was brought back to the young ages of being a squirming and bitey little hatchling when her onyx scales were all squishy-wuishy and pink. Grumbling a cheerful hum to herself, a light smile donned her face as she wondered if the only companion on staff she could manage to find would show up, or anyone else of interest. Otherwise it felt like she was going to be a lone survivor in trying to enjoy herself on the weekend, which wasn't always the funnest experience when things felt like they'd get lonely.

In the grand city of car honking noises, Moo found herself wondering the ever so busy streets. She had decided to give her team the weekend off to have some fun and get to know the new members. Bonding with your teammates was key to being a great team and the captain had to make sure that happened. She felt a bit odd though with her outfit. But Demeter had said it looked great on her and she wasn't about to start doubting someone who she was just forming a bond with. The one thing she did have to change though...

"Ah!" Moo sighed as she looked down at her worn out sneakers. "Metrr say thozz otter wones lookitt bettah, but ah my feet sure thankful I swich em out into my snikerz." She tapped the tip of her toes on the concrete and smiled before continuing on her way.

Moo had to admit the clothes must be magical or something because she was getting a lot more attention than she's used to when she isn't on the basketball court. Maybe it was the pink sweater, she knew it was too big on her. Anyways, she reached the location they had agreed on, according to the app on her phone. It had taken a while for her teammates to teach her how to use it so she wouldn't get lost, so she had been following it and asking for help along the way.

Moo yawned and pocketed her phone, at least she tried to, the damn skirt didn't have any! She knew the absolute freedom of mobility it came with would have consequences. Still, she needed to tell the couch about how easy they could move with skirts and see if they could be implemented in their uniform. She was sure Kota would love having more space for his tail. Back to the problem at hand, Moo decied to slide her phone into her stockings. She threw a few kicks to see if they would fall, probably causing a few nose bleeds for anyone passing by, but the experiment worked!

"Ah dis gunna be gud ol fun!" She said excitedly to nobody as she leaned against a lamp post. She crossed her arms and closed her eyes, going over different plays for the next training session in her mind.

The neon lights flickered against the pavement, casting the weekend rush in an electric glow. The air was alive with the chatter of students, tourists, and weekend warriors, all indulging in the Entertainment District’s endless distractions—arcades, food stalls, boutiques, and bright displays promising the latest and greatest.

Standing just outside the arcade, Hikari pulled out her phone, her fingers hovering over the keyboard before she started typing.

Griffin & Noelle
me
✨ At the Entertainment District! Come find me if you’re free! 🎮💖

That was easy enough. Noelle was fun to hang out with, and Griffin—Aurora?—she’d gotten used to the difference in their tones. They were both fun.

The next message, though, gave her pause.

Rios
me
Are you free? I’m at the Entertainment District if you want to come hang out.

She hesitated. Then, after a beat, she hit send.

Rios.

Her boyfriend.

It still felt strange to think about. She hadn't really processed it yet.

He had asked her out—so straightforward, so confident. And she, utterly overwhelmed, had just… said yes.

Because what was she supposed to say?

"No, I need to overthink this for six months first?"

Now, standing alone in the dazzling chaos of the district, she felt that familiar tightness in her chest. She wanted to be a good girlfriend. She should be excited to see him, excited to go on dates, to text him without second-guessing every word.

But she didn’t know how to act.

Was she overcomplicating it? Probably.

And yet—ugh—another complication lingered in the back of her mind.

Her fingers tightened around her phone as a different name crossed her thoughts.

Kota.

Or… Valheria-kun.

The one person she spent nearly every day with on Student Council. The one who always seemed so effortlessly composed, who handled everything with precision and grace. And lately… she’d started noticing things. Small things.

How his voice always carried a quiet authority. How he never hesitated when decisions needed to be made. How, when things felt chaotic, his presence had this grounding effect that made her feel—

No.

Absolutely not.

They were both in Student Council. And she was already dating Rios.

Which meant that whatever this was? It needed to be shut down. Immediately.

Focus, Hikari.

Shaking off the tangled mess of emotions, she quickly tapped out another message.

Ophenia-senpai
me
Ophenia-senpai! ✨ Do you want to go karaoke later? I’m thinking of dragging Noelle with me! 🎤💖

There. That was a safe distraction.

Karaoke with Noelle and Ophenia-senpai would be fun. Normal.

She took a steadying breath, tucking her phone back into her bag.

Tonight was supposed to be carefree.

She just hoped it would actually feel that way.

Even during the weekend, it wasn't common for the vice-principal to catch a genuine break amiss all the additional paperwork and emails she had to work on even outside the office. Her work seemed neverending and exhausting. When she did have the free time she usually engaged in solitary activities, ranging from the occasional stroll in the park, exercising in the gym, or reading a book in her local cafe. It was rare to see her engage with social friends, let alone anyone from outside school grounds. Yet there was always that rare chance she actually had the available time and energy to expel...

Much to Gunhild's satisfaction, tonight was one of those lucky nights.

"Colour mine tardiness, Madam Gunhild." a deep sultry voice called out from behind the cerulean teacher, "God-den.". Wearing a brilliant scarlet suit with subtly upward pointed shoulders, alongside a cream-white dress shirt worn underneath and walking on dark maroon heels, Redahlia strolled into the entertainment district with lavish and swagger befitting that of a royal queen. While her facial and neck scars were on full display, she didn't care to flaunt them proudly and unbothered. Confidence oozed from her essence, perhaps turning a few curious eyes to her striking attire,

The vice-principal was good friends with Gunhild, having known her considerably longer then most aside from the Principal. Acting both as a teacher and a student, Gunhild proved more than a capable individual for conducting espionage on student activities with her more youthful-demeanor helping her blend in with the crowd. Especially regarding gatherings with questionable intent. Frankly, Redahlia knew naught how she does it, but she wasn't going to try to understand it so long as it got the job done. Outside of official duties, she was a good drinking buddy and quite a chatter-box. Her interests may be more "child-like" to Redahlia's more "refined" tastes but they mattered not in the grand scheme. They helped to take her mind off work after all.

And in the beeping and chinking of machines combined with the dazzling multi-colored lights and advertisements surrounding them, this was just what she needed.

"Tis a lovely evening to unbend, thou not agree?" Redahlia posed as she brushed her crimson mane to the side, "What's on your mind?"

"So this place has bowling, laser tag AND karaoke? This IS an arcade we're going to, right?" the more she heard from Kota and Moo, the more excited and skeptical she grew simultaneously, "How have I not known about this? How much does it cost to get into this place!?"

As soon as you noticed just how similarly she'd been dressed to Moo, it would've been obvious why Demeter had approved of the former's outfit. The green bean had been rocking a blue hoodie with short-shorts though; no stockings to be seen. And given how her teammates described this place, she was feeling like she'd been walking right past a goldmine ever other day and never even noticed.

"Ah man, what should we do first? I've never played laser tag. Or bowling. Or... karaoke, actually... hmm." she turned back to Moo, "Eh, you can wear the fancy shoes when you're trying for a job or some other boring thing. We're here to have fun. Those sneakers are perfect for today."

Soon, the storefront came into view; an annoyingly bright neon sign hanging overhead that read "John & Johnson's". Unsurprisingly, it came the sounds of various arcade machines and the smell of various deep-fried foods. What did surprise Demeter was the fact that the Student Council President was here, standing at the front entrance as though she were waiting on someone. With a raised brow, she walked up to her; waving a hand in the air to draw her attention up from her phone.

"Hey, you're the school prez, right? It was uh... Nancy Kimari, right? I didn't think you'd be into these kinda places, to be honest," Demeter had never met her in person, but she seemed more like a novel-reading, "charity-work afterschool" type than someone who'd wanna goof around at an arcade. Even so... "You like laser tag? Or... games in general? We do need a fourth so we can have some proper 2v2s."

Hikari’s fingers hovered over her phone screen, debating her next move.

After a moment, she exhaled softly and started typing.

Yume
me
Are you free? I’m at the Entertainment District if you want to play a few sessions of Celestial Fighters X.

She sent it before she could overthink it.

It had been a while since she and Yume had actually hung out outside of school responsibilities. As much as the other girl could be unpredictable, she was—if nothing else—fun. And if she did show up, it meant Hikari wouldn’t have to deal with overly cocky arcade challengers alone.

Tucking her phone into her bag, she turned her attention back to the arcade entrance—only to be met with an unexpected voice.

“…Nancy Kimari?”

Hikari blinked.

There was a beat of silence—one in which she very quickly cycled through several possible responses. Do I correct her? Would that be rude? Would it be weirder if I just pretended that was my name now?

She settled on the diplomatic approach.

“Um, it’s Nozomi. Hikari Nozomi.”

A polite smile—small, but enough to smooth over the mix-up.

And then, recognition flickered.

The girl in front of her—Demeter. And the one beside her—Moo.

Basketball team.

Kota’s teammates.

Something unreadable crossed Hikari’s expression for a fraction of a second before she schooled it back into her usual poised demeanor.

“You’re on the basketball team, right?” she asked, glancing between them.

Of course, they were. She had seen them play before—had seen how seamlessly they worked together, how naturally they supported one another. She briefly wondered if Kota was with them, but there was no silver hair, no familiar figure trailing behind them.

Focus, Hikari.

She exhaled softly, glancing toward the arcade entrance.

“I, um—yes, actually. I do like games,” she admitted, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “It’s a nice way to take my mind off things.”

She hesitated for a moment before adding, “I usually play Celestial Fighters X when I come here.”

A short pause.

“It’s a—”

Wait.

They probably already knew what it was.

“—a fighting game.”

That wasn’t awkward at all.

Trying to move past it, she quickly continued, “I was also planning to do karaoke later with Ophenia-senpai and Noelle.”

Her gaze flickered toward the entrance again, as if expecting them to materialize at any moment.

“And Griffin was invited, too,” she added, before hesitating.

Her fingers curled slightly against the strap of her bag.

And then, quieter—more uncertain—

“And… Rios.”

There was a subtle shift in her expression, as though she were still trying to gauge how she should feel about saying his name out loud.

Hikari’s posture remained poised, but beneath it, her thoughts tumbled. She hadn’t expected to run into Kota’s teammates today. She hadn’t expected to feel so strangely aware of herself under their scrutiny.

But there was no reason to overthink this.

Right?

She straightened slightly, smoothing the uncertainty from her features.

“Are you two here to play as well?” she asked, tilting her head slightly.

Kota glanced at his phone as he hopped off the subway, a black jacket slung over his shoulders as he made his way to a nearby staircase.

[Almost there guys, tails took a little longer to blow dry]

Today they were taking the rook Demeter out on the town for some good ole team bonding. The green bean showed a lot of potential, bundling in a pod full of energy. When it came to sports, chemistry was key, trust in your teammates to have your back. Since Demeter was on the team, it was only right.

Kota would tuck his phone into his pocket as he surfaced, the bright lights of the entertainment district striking his vision with a colorful array. It’s been quite some time since he’s been here, it felt refreshing to do some average adolescent stuff. Devoid of balancing checks or running the sports team with captain. Right now, he could just be Kota and push all his responsibilities to the side.

His outfit was put together with class and comfort in mind, looking to fit into the atmosphere without sacrificing much. He paired it with a simply silver necklace and with a warm woody cologne.

The foxes yellow eyes would find the meeting spot and under it a large doe in an oversized sweater. Seeing Moo in anything other than a school issued uniform or sportswear was always strange, a good strange though. Outside of school was, when you really get a feel for someone’s individuality.

As for Demeter, she also seemed equally as comfy, her green skin and floral hair easy to spot amongst the crowd. She probably looked the comfiest out of them all. Earning a bit of envy from Kota.

Lastly but not least, he’d see an unexpected guest in the class prez. What she was doing there, he had no idea but nonetheless he was always happy to see her. She was stunning as always, and the colorful lights that splayed all around couldn’t be more fitting. His stomach churned slightly, immediate butterflies. However, bliss of affection would turn sour. Not many things would drag Hikari out for some fun. Perhaps she was on a date with her new boyfriend, Rios.

Kota didn’t have anything against him but that didn’t stop the pit in his stomach. He knew of him from the Kendo club but aside from that, the guys natural brooding and his own friendlier nature rarely crossed paths.

He kept his composure, even in the face of perfection. Strolling up to the group with a smile.

“Sup Moo and Green jelly bean.” He smiled as he approach the two, “You two look good, thanks for not embarrassing me. Especially you Capt, didn’t know innocent was a look you could pull off.” He chuckled, deflecting his angst onto another topic.

“The three of us are here to hang, building some team chemistry.” He’d interject. “Nice to see you outside of school Hikari for some well
Earned fun.
he greeted, engraving the perfection that stood before him to memory. As much as he wanted to tell her she looked amazing, Kota chose to bite his tongue.

Since she’s been in a relationship, things between them have been…awkward. Another guy had never been in the picture before, adjusting was proving more than difficult. Thankfully, hiding behind school duties was a tactic Kota used masterfully, a good coverup for the waves of emotions that sparked from seeing her with another.

“Don’t know how long you’re going to be waiting but if you’ve got some time you should hang with us? Unless whoever you’re meeting with are showing up soon.”

The roar of an engine echoed throughout the quiet alleys leading to the entertainment district of Ryke City. Sliding between corners and speeding past bus boys on break was a motorcycle as black as night. The rider casually looked at their phone despite still operating a vehicle. It would seem their attempts to win over a certain someone were bearing fruit. Now THEY were the ones receiving messages. Exiting the alleys and onto the main road. The rider skillfully maneuvered between vehicles in an effort to get to their destination just a little faster. Now that they had grasped onto their prize. Keeping hold of them would be the next step. Unfortunately a group of road workers were trying to block off the fastest route to the meet up spot. Which necessitated some expert improvisation on the part of the rider. Grasping onto some kind of pack strapped to the side of his motorcycle. The masked rider unfolded the pack into a sword, which he then flung at an old billboard that was being taken down. His weapon soared through the air before hitting the ropes holding the billboard in place. Bouncing off a few surfaces before returning to the riders hand and folding back into its pack form; the weapon had nary a scratch.

Going full throttle and ramping off of the sign which had fallen on a pile of debris. The rider braced for impact as he felt his bike smack against the ground. Turning a corner and spinning his vehicle for a final time. He dismounted his motorcycle and removed his helmet to reveal a mess of cyan hair. An equally cyan pair of eyes blinked a few times as Rios got his bearings. Although from the outside, what he just did seemed pretty sick. Rios gave himself a moment to breathe before approaching the Student Council President, or rather Hikari since they were dating. He hoped they were dating since he had gone to the trouble of speeding just to get here on time. His big sisters at the facility picked his outfit today since they knew he'd be meeting a girl. Rios and the Rios in his head had been confused about it since clothes were just clothes. However he didn't want them to death glare at him like the time he wondered why he shouldn't use their nice smelling shampoo.

"Hey Hikari... sorry I'm late" said Rios with as good of a smile as he could manage. Although he did have feelings for the Student Council President. Rios was very bad at expressing any feeling that didn't have anything to do with his swords. Not even the addition of the second Rios in his brain did much since he was even WORSE at expressing non sword related feelings. Clearing his throat and taking a few steps towards the blonde haired girl. He pulled a small box from his jacket. Handing it over to Hikari like he was a small child offering a gift to their teacher. The contents of the box were a simple silver necklace with a wolf charm that resembled her dog, Hiruq. "I saw you looking at it the other day..." stated Rios who was doing his best to seem expressive despite being very unexpressive. Dates were hard and Rios was trying his hardest. He then noticed Kota standing to the side. Naturally he assumed it was because the fox was friends with Hikari. Kota was good people and Rios was relieved Hikari was that bit safer with him around.

Hikari had been caught in the delicate balance of trying to act normal—trying to navigate the lingering warmth of Kota’s presence, trying not to overthink the way her heart had fluttered at his casual greeting—when the distant roar of an engine cut through the air.

Her head turned just in time to witness the spectacle that was Rios’ entrance.

Motorcycle. Sharp turns. The glint of a sword—a sword—slicing through the air in a dazzling display of sheer reckless precision.

Hikari’s breath caught.

People stared.

And then, just as smoothly as he had arrived, he dismounted, removed his helmet, and strode toward her.

Rios.

With his wild cyan hair, unreadable gaze, and that quiet, understated presence that somehow always managed to command attention without even trying.

“Rios…”

Her voice was soft, her mind still catching up.

And then—before she could process anything further—he reached into his jacket and pulled out a small box, pressing it into her hands with an almost boyish sort of stiffness.

Hikari’s eyes widened. Carefully, almost hesitantly, she lifted the lid—only for her breath to catch again.

A silver necklace. Delicate, elegant. And at the center of the chain, a small wolf charm—one that looked just like Hiruq. The warmth that rushed to her face was immediate, a soft blush blooming across her cheeks.

“Oh…” She lifted the charm gently between her fingers, tracing its smooth surface. She had stopped to admire this necklace when she passed by that shop the other day—but she hadn’t thought much of it. Just a fleeting moment, a quiet appreciation.

But Rios had noticed. And he had remembered. Her heart squeezed—partially with guilt, partially with something softer, something more fragile. He had no reason to do this other than the fact that he cared. Despite his usual bluntness, despite how difficult emotions seemed to be for him, he had noticed something small and bought it for her anyway.

Her fingers tightened slightly around the box.

“Rios, I—” She hesitated, eyes flickering up to meet his. The words felt too big, too tangled in her chest. Instead, she swallowed softly and let her lips curve into a genuine, grateful smile. “Thank you. I love it.”

The words weren’t forced. They weren’t carefully measured. They were simply true. She reached up, hesitating for only a moment before unclasping her old necklace and carefully fastening the new one around her neck. The silver charm rested just against her collarbone, light but reassuring—like a quiet tether to something familiar, comforting.

Hiruq.

She thought of him in that moment—her loyal companion, her wolf hybrid who had always been by her side. Maybe… maybe Rios really did understand her better than she gave him credit for.

But then—her heart stilled slightly.

Kota.

She glanced toward him, feeling another wave of heat rush to her face.

Oh

Oh, this was awkward.

She wasn’t doing anything wrong, but somehow, standing between them—between the boy who had been her quiet constant and the boy who had noticed something so small, so personal—felt like standing on the edge of something precarious.

She needed to move past this.

“I, um—” She cleared her throat lightly, shifting the attention back to something neutral. Her gaze flickered over the small group that had gathered—Kota, Rios, but also Moo and Demeter, who had been there the whole time, watching the exchange.

“I was just telling everyone that I have some time before my other friends arrive. We were going to play Celestial Fighters X, and later, I’m going to karaoke with Ophenia-senpai and Noelle.”

She glanced between them all, her fingers unconsciously brushing against the new necklace.

“It would be nice, if we could all hang out.” She managed to say with a level tone.

It wasn’t just about making things less awkward. It was about making sure no one felt out of place—whether it was Rios, Kota, or even Moo and Demeter, who had unknowingly walked right into an awkward situation.

Because if there was one thing Hikari didn’t want—it was to hurt anyone.

Her phone buzzed again, and this time, she eagerly welcomed the distraction. Her heart was still unsteady, emotions tangled in a way she hadn’t quite sorted through yet. But this—this was easy. Her fingers tapped against the screen, crafting a response with a small smile tugging at her lips.

Moo had no idea what they were going on about, lay seer tag, some fighters named something X and then she was innocent? Whatever that meant. Things seemed odd though, Moo wasn't an expert on a lot of the social traditions society had, but she had learned a bit to "read the room". Although she was no expert, she knew things were off somehow. If this was a game, Moo would have no trouble blazing through the group with how... unfocused? They were. She couldn't tell why, so all she could do was nod and let out a loud yawn. "Yep." Was all she could add to the interactions.

Then, one of those loud machines Moo had seen before roared into the scene. She loved how fast that thing moved, despite the driver being a bit to harsh with it. Moo had tried to keep up wiht one of those, but she was no match. The loud machine was something she admired. It was even better to get to be so close to one! Moo's eyes were kept on the motorcyle until she heard the last bit the president said.

"Yeh, wynutt?" Moo spoke out, stepping forward as if representing her two companions. "I needa talk bout ya gettin these forda team." She looked down and tugged at her skirt. "More izzy ta move en em. Wouln't bather Kota's tail also, ya?" Moo crossed her arms, nodding as if she was agreeing with herself. "We also match wittem cheerladders."

Moo turned to face her team, with a big grin. "Iss okah witt y'all?" She then playfully punched Kota on the shoulder. "End wacha meen by innosent? Sum kinda smell? I did bath." She then leaned in as if trying to keep the conversation with only them three. "Ya think I can lookit? The roarincycle, I meen. I always wanned twosee wone af em up close."

A notification popped up on Yume’s phone, and she jumped, as if someone had just fired a rifle. It wasn’t super common, getting messages from people. And while she wasn’t about to admit that was cripplingly lonely to herself, a big smile plastered itself on her face. A friend had asked her to do stuff with her! It was almost always the other way around!

"Hikari sounds a little stiff, even through a text message, hehe~" Yume teased, putting the phone away.

It almost felt like a holiday, in a way! A special occasion! She’d have to make it extra special. Memorable enough to break through her magical fog. Stopping by her home, she quickly swapped into some casual clothes, and then rushed for the door, only to be blocked by a confused woman.

"Miss…? I… how did you… and why do I feel so…?"

Yume didn’t let her finish, running forward and tapping on the bracelet on her wrist. At once, her Mom’s eyes went wide and filled with tears for maybe the billionth time. "Oh… oh no… Yume, I’m so sorry. My phone lost power and the alarm must have—"

"—Don’t worry about it. See ya, I’m meeting a friend."

"…Really!? And she remembers you!? That’s wonderful! I just baked some muffins if you’d like to bring some along to share?"

"Hm… maybe. What kind did you make?"

Yume’s Mom wandered into the kitchen, calling out, "I have reverse speech, pallet swap, and love potion. Those are a little stale, though."

"Thanks, but we’ll be fine," Yume shrugged.

"Oh, and your ears arrived today, if you’d like to bring them. I put the package by the bookshelf."

"It’s just gonna be Hikari and me, I think."

"…are you sure?"

"I… guess not, I’ll take them just in case."

Yume stepped out of the bus took a quick looked around. Hikari was never difficult to pick out of a crowd, but even less so when she had a little crowd of her own. Admittedly, it was a bit of a bummer being one of a bajillion invited, but she’d get over it.

And more quickly than anticipated, too! The one she’d been waiting for specifically was right here! In some ways, it was perfect, and in others, too soon! She hadn’t even figured out the wiggle features yet! Well, nothing left but to just go for it, she supposed. Ducking back in the bus for just a moment to apply the fluffy white accessory atop her head, she then revealed herself!

"Hikari nya~!" Yume called, waving a hand in the air as she ran up to join the sizable group. "And Kota-oniichan too!? Nyow that’s just perfect! Glad you’re here nya~!"

Running up, Yume gave Kota a firm hug, hoping their beloved treasurer hadn’t thought to tap on his Yume Friendship Bracelet™ just yet. The absolute state of confusion was always priceless when she did this— which was pretty much every time they met —and now, wearing her Realistic Comfortable Beast Ears With 12 Configurable Wiggling Motions (White), they looked even more like siblings!

"I didn’t knyow you invited so myany people, Hikari. This should be fun nya! Although…" she reached out and spoke directly to Hikari’s mind…
"Usually when a girl asks her boyfriend to go out, it myeans just the two of you! You knyow… kissy kissy stuff~?" She paused a moment before adding, "I can distract them while you two run for it, if you like nya~?"

Finishing the thought, Yume commented aloud, "Pretty nyecklace, by the way! It even… uuhhhmmm—" she glanced at Kota for a moment, her cheerful mouth hung open awkwardly. Even Yume, for all her unbridled chaos, could hold her tongue now and then. "—Remyinds me of Hiruq!" Saved it!

Gunhild's gaze rather emptily trailed along the colourful lights for a while, their delight starting to burn off once her mind was reminded it was the same district she had visited yet again and again. Although the childish wonder in her mind found delight at amusement and entertainment found here, the bustle and noise of countless others going about their daily lives was what drove in a subtle sense of loneliness to the back of her mind as her complacent waiting devolved into awkward standing around and fidgeting with her fingers.

After what felt like a painful while of staring at the floor, Gunhild contemplated if it would've just been a better idea to pick out a movie for herself to watch instead, or have located some quiet club or bar to drink or eat at. She didn't exactly care for the taste of alcohol, but it put her mind off things for a short time. That was until the surprsing sound of a familiar voice caught her offguard, immediately lifting her head and turning around all over the place to locate where she might be. Then, she noticed, the crimson lady that was confident and controlling enough to have earned herself the position of Vice Principal. An overpowering sense of awareness of her every situation exuded from the woman, with the intimidating glint of both intelligence and power visible in her eyes, Red was truly the kind of woman to look up to and admire.

"Ah, Reds! It is Reds, your tardy colour is red indeeds" Gunhild's rather blank and growing expressionless visage very quickly turned to a wide grin at the sight of the other staff member, she had truly started to begun she wasn't going to show up.
"Hellos Red, Gunhild hopies Reds shows ups, and dids a do~! Ooh-" Gunhild hummed in a cheerful tone, her attention for a short moment averted to the refined wardrobe choices the other woman had made. For a casual and fun outing, Redahlia truly didn't seem to hold back when it came to looking her Sunday Best. Or Monday. Or Tuesday. Or any day for that matter. Tilting her head and looking her over, it was a mighty fine attire that truly accentuated the immaculate woman's charming personality.
"Reds' suit and shoes very, very goods. Very prettiest prettys, Gunhild couldn'ts looks any goods like that, Gunhild no good clothes-person, Reds is very pretties" Gunhild shrugged with a sheepish smile, she could recognise when someone looked good but had no idea how to dress well that others thought she looked good. Rather than her usually worn simple clothes like tank tops and strangely modified uniforms to fit her size-changing prowess, she had no actual clue how to look good.

That being said, she hummed and took a look around the area, her hands clasped behind her back as she cheerfully rocked her hips from side to side like a wagging dog-tail, contemplating suggestions for where they should go.
"It will be funnest do! Gunhild and Reds cans go to bar, thens play arcade, Gunhild cans wins Reds a bestest crane-game prize evers, maybes Gunhild and Reds go shoppings or-or-or gets dinners togethers, yesses? Oh-oh-oh! Maybes, maybes Reds helps Gunhild looks goods? Mmm, many thingies do" Gunhild hummed softly, growing a bit awkward with a shaky smile as she looked around between the things she noticed and thought over, hoping to find or figure out the perfect thing that would be a lot of fun for them.

Hikari had barely managed to process Moo’s enthusiastic pitch about team uniforms before Yume’s unmistakable voice rang through the air, sending her train of thought into complete derailment.

And then, the ears.

Hikari blinked, watching as Yume practically bounded over with twitching white accessories atop her head, her energy as impossible to ignore as ever. The familiar tug of that odd, foggy feeling brushed at the edges of her mind—that strange push and pull that always came with remembering Yume. She’d gotten used to it by now, but it still left her slightly disoriented every time.

And then—as if the universe had decided she wasn’t flustered enough—Yume’s voice slipped directly into her thoughts.

"Usually when a girl asks her boyfriend to go out, it myeans just the two of you! You knyow… kissy kissy stuff~?"

Hikari.exe has stopped working.

She felt her entire face heat up, her posture going stiff as every muscle in her body screamed in secondhand embarrassment.

Did she say that out loud?!

No. No, she hadn’t. But—oh gods, Kota, Demeter, and Moo were all right there.

Watching. Listening.

The weight of it crashed into her all at once, and she suddenly became painfully aware of every single pair of eyes on her.

Kota. Standing nearby, his usual composed presence steady as ever.

Moo. Probably wondering what on earth was even happening.

Demeter. Likely judging her life choices.

And Rios.

Rios, who had literally just bought her a gift. Who had gone out of his way to do something thoughtful.

Oh no.

Oh no, oh no, oh no.

She hadn’t meant to make this weird. She had just wanted to have fun with her friends! It hadn’t even crossed her mind that Rios might have expected something different.

The guilt hit her in full force.

Her fingers curled around the tiny wolf charm at her collarbone, the cool metal grounding her for just a second.

Taking a breath, she forced herself to look at Rios—and suddenly, her nerves shifted into something softer.

“I… I wasn’t thinking,” she admitted, her voice quieter now. She hated the idea of making him feel like an afterthought. “I just wanted to spend time with everyone, but… I should’ve realized.”

She exhaled softly, her fingers brushing over the necklace again.

“Next time, just the two of us?”

There. A promise, not an apology.

She glanced up at him, searching for any flicker of reaction, before adding—a little softer, a little teasing, trying to ease the moment:

“Unless… you think I’m too much trouble to take out alone?”

A joke, but not entirely.

Because the truth was—she really wasn’t great at this dating thing. But that didn’t mean she didn’t want to try.
