This RP will be set in the rural outskirts of Texas in the small town of Marathon. The last of true cowpoke country, Marathon, is always overlooked. During the cattle drive days, it was a mere stopping point in the long haul of desert travel. Now, it's merely another overlooked town on the way to your true destination. Except for the mountains, cacti, and the Mcbride family. The Mcbride ranch spans 424,000 acres and 57 miles in West Texas, making it one of the biggest ranches in Texas. Not only is it enormous, but the acreage is contiguous, which is rare for a property of this size. It’s been assembled from 22 historic ranch properties, many dating back to the settlement of the frontier in the late 1800s. Passed down through generations, the ranch has always operated as a haven for wildlife, livestock paradise, and revenue source for Marathon. Despite generations of success, the ranch is on the brink of financial ruin due to a combination of rising land prices, a bad drought, and an influx of developers eyeing the property for luxury housing and urban development.

This RP will be primarily driven by relationships and drama within the family, their highest employees, as well as friends and significant associates in Marathon. As well as the ruthless and fiery tension amongst those closest to each other, I will also throw in outside threats and challenges from law enforcement, corporations, natural elements, and others set to make life even more complicated for our characters. Let's make this as dramatic and fiery as we can!

  Description: Home of (insert names). Traditional Spanish-style hacienda home that's been passed down in the family with the ranch. Able to house the main family and guests in smaller apartment-style spaces around a central courtyard, the main living areas and eating areas are shared in common toward the front of the house. No room has a bad view and is closer to the top portion of the ranch, a thirty-minute drive to town.

  The bunkhouse, located a short walk from the main house, is the orignal ranch house from the early 1800’s. it’s been updated and expanded over the years and can house up to twenty staff.   Description: The main barns, a five-minute walk from the house, were rebuilt in 2018. All the horses belonging to the family or ranch hands are housed here, along with range vehicles. There is a small single apartment attached to the barns, along with several bathrooms, and storage for required equipment and supplies. The vehicle garage is the newest building on the property. It houses the ranch vehicles, helicopter, and a mechanic shop.

Sawdust floors, a well-oiled jutebox, and plenty of neon to keep the glow alive. But with enough liquor in your veins and good company, Whiskey Road is a little slice of paradise in the wasteland.

  Smooth-Talking: The characteristic second-brother gene in the family, Parker has an incredible way at getting what he wants with only his charm and wit. Having to navigate around his daunting older brother and his father in his youth taught him early how to lie and slide his way out of situations. In the military, he was forced to reign his silver tongue back a bit. It taught him the appropriateness of when to use his words and when to keep his mouth quiet.
  
  Riding: Like the rest of the McBride clan, Parker learned to ride on horseback as soon as he could walk. While he'd say Jack better understands animals and Maggie has more fun with them, he'd say his niche was taming them. Any wild bronco or steer always met their match with him, and his knack for breaking the wild children of the herd always came in handy growing up. And part of what led him to pick up bull riding. However, since the accident, Parker has yet to step foot on horseback. Part of fear and part of pain; neither he's comfortable admitting.
  
  Piloting: In the Navy, Parker learned to fly and operate helicopters. It wasn't a skill he had prior, but since developing it has been a huge asset to the ranch. Once his father invested in a helicopter for the ranch, when necessary, he's always been able to come down in a few days to the ranch and help wrangle larger herds, lost cattle in remote areas of the ranch, or simply move larger loads. Since his time as a bull rider, he's neglected the talent a bit. Especially after the accident.

  Parker, in peak form, is just as wild and free-spirited as the bulls he used to ride. He has little regard for those in his path and will take anyone along for the ride. He's fun-loving, rowdy, and an overall extrovert. All of this, though, has been built around his constant need to prove himself different from his siblings and family. In reality, he's very sentimental and wants to do the right thing. After the accident, what's most important in life, like family and friends, are what matter most to him now. He wants to make sure those around him feel loved and seen, since he never felt that on a deeper level.

  Like the rest of his siblings, Parker was born and raised in the small town of Marathon. He was forced to do his part at a young age, expected to help with tending to the land with the rest of the staff and employees. For a while, he towed the line behind his older sibling and ranch hands without much fuss. But after a few Texas summers and a desire to play with the few other kids in town, he had grander plans of working his life away on the ranch. Any chance he got, he tried to sneak away to town. Even if there wasn't much, a strong horse and determination got him far enough away at times and in a whole heap of trouble once he was found. As he grew older, the antics got more and more reckless. Cars, liquor, and women certainly didn't make life easier for his parents. To counteract his delinquency, Parker always made sure to keep his grades high to avoid unwanted trouble.
  
  Eventually, like everyone else, Parker was forced to grow up. Seemingly, his only way out of the sorry little town was the military. So after high school, Parker enlisted in the Navy. He served a five-year contract, stationed in Hawaii, then on a carrier that patrolled the Suez Canal. His duties were tame: delivering payloads, troops, and other materials around the areas he was stationed. Thankfully, he never saw active combat, unlike his sister-in-law. For a small-town country boy, it was all he could dream and more. However, the time away from his roots in Texas made him miss the world he grew up in. Not necessarily the people or place, but the cowboy lifestyle. With his heart in mind, he opted to not reenlist.
  
  To have a change of pace and a second crack at domestic life, Parker moved to Dallas at the age of 23 to try and start some semblance of a normal life. It didn't take long to realize he didn't have the skills to make it in a city. With no higher education and white-collar skills, he blew through what little savings he had within a year. Thankfully, through family connections, he landed a ranch hand gig at the Four Sixes ranch. There, he was able to use his childhood skills from the ranch on a commercial scale. But at the same time, the devil of bordem still crept up his spine. In his spare time, if he wasn't honkey-tonking, he took up roping and bull-riding. Both of these hobbies were merely passtimes on the ranch and dumb ways to get hurt, but now seemed viable ways to make money. He soon found out he didn't have the precision for roping but the cockiness for bull-riding. With a few small-time competitions under his belt, he learned he had a knack and personality for bull riding. After working 2 years on the ranch, he managed to build enough of a name to quit his job and become a professional bull rider.
  
  He had it all. Parker McBride had the power of a hefty last name, a smile that could cut glass, and enough determination to hold on for eight seconds of pure torture. He traveled the country for rodeos, won a championship, and even had sponsors. He met Jessica, who quickly fell in love with his older brother, as well as other friends. Girls weren't even a concern at this point; with a full roster of women on standby, it was a matter of time and place rather than who. This was the life he wanted and worked so hard to chase down. Until it all came crumbling down...
  
  At a show in Boseman, Montana, in February, Parker had the worst night of his life. After falling from a bull, stunned and unable to move from a concussion, he couldn't avoid the animal's horrish jumps. Before anyone could intervene, the bull smashed into him. With no family in town and noone to truly call, he was rushed to the nearest hospital, unconscious and alone. After it was all said and done, Parker suffered multiple broken ribs, a damaged back, and bad head injuries. For two months, he was unable to walk; he was stuck in a state of paralysis due to the swelling in his spine. It was completely uncertain if he'd ever walk again at all. Due to the sensitivity of his injury, once Parker was permitted to leave the hospital, he was forced to rent a nearby accessible home to continue long-term care. It wasn't until April when his back started to cooperate again along with the medicine to help begin his path to recovery. He learned to walk again, care for himself, and do other basic tasks he thought would be impossible. After familial support throughout that time, it was decided that he'd move back to the ranch once he was able to leave Boseman. Even if he disagreed with the decision at first, he knew anywhere but the frozen wasteland he was stuck in was better. And sure enough, in June, he was able to walk onto a plane back home to Texas.
  
  Now, Parker is back in town. A place that holds memories of both his glory days and his struggles.And he certainly didn't leave Marathon how he remembered. Marathon, however, hasn't forgotten his deeds, and trust is hard to come by in these parts.

She struggles to learn from mistakes because she’s always doing things with what she believes to be the best outcome in mind. Which means when things go wrong, she still can’t stand the idea that she made the wrong decisions, because she was only ever trying to do the right thing.
  
  Maggie can be arrogant at times, because she’s so committed to doing the best she can, all the time. She convinces herself she’s undefeatable and the best person for every job. It’s self sacrificial, impulsive and dangerous. Without her older siblings around to rein her in, she gets into all sorts of trouble. Some would call her misled, but others would argue it's childish ignorance. Despite this, Maggie keeps her head up high. She brushes off insults, stands up for herself, and fights for others. She doesn’t let insults or dismissals get to her. She knows she’s made mistakes by rushing into things, but that doesn’t stop her from committing to her morals and doing what she knows is right.   While this personality tends not to bode well with authority figures, she ends up being very popular amongst people her age. She’s charismatic, reliable, confident and kind. She can talk to anyone without hesitation, laughs at jokes that she doesn’t find funny, offers hugs to people she’s never met before just because they look sad.   History:
  The McBride family is the embodiment of a nuclear family, the figurehead of Marathon. Everything about them is picturesque, if you're careful not to look for the cracks. Marathon was a town as godforsaken as its name suggested, where the dust clings to your skin like a curse and the sun beats down hard enough to crack open a man’s soul. The McBride family lived on the far edge of nothing, in a house barely held together by spit and hope. Even before she was born, the McBride children had become synonymous with the term "nepo baby". ㅤMagdalene Elspeth was born into a family that never really knew what to do with her. From a young age, she was a bundle of energy and mischief, always the one to suggest the craziest ideas or turn a quiet afternoon into something chaotic. Her parents, both busy and a bit stiff, tried their best to keep her in line, but Maggie was never one to follow the rules. Instead of being the quiet, well-behaved child they hoped for in their third child, she was the one who would climb up trees, sneak into the neighbor’s pool, and convince her friends to go on spontaneous adventures, usually ending in some sort of harmless disaster. Spurred on by her older siblings laughter, Maggie felt like she could do anything.
  
  As she got older, Maggie's stubborn personality only grew stronger. She became the class president, the one who could talk her way out of anything with her charm and infectious laugh. Teachers would shake their heads when she’d slide into class a few minutes late, covered in mud after her latest adventure. But there was something about her—a sort of warmth and natural charisma—that made people love her anyway. Even if she broke every rule, people couldn’t help but be drawn to her.
  
  Maggie didn’t have many close friends growing up, but she didn’t mind. She was always the life of the party, and while she had some good friends, she never really needed to fit into one box. Her life was about being spontaneous, taking risks, and living in the moment. She found joy in the little things, like dancing around the living room or dragging her friends to a 2 a.m. diner for pancakes, just because.
  
  These days, Maggie finds herself going through the motions. Trying too hard to fit a mold she's outgrown, stuck to the day in and day out of doing her share on the family farm. College has become just another distraction from what would otherwise be a boring existence.
  
  The loneliness of being the youngest child isn't lost on Maggie, who spent most of her childhood trying to catch up to her siblings. Always wanting to do what Parker was doing, always wanting to seem bigger and more mature than she actually was. In her childhood, nothing she’s ever done was ever good enough to live up to her parents expectations. Although she pretends to be an oblivious to it, even spiteful, she’s still that seven year old yearning to be enough.
  
  Aspirations: Maggie's love for the spotlight, something that used to burn brightly, has fizzled and burnt out. She has resigned herself to a life on the ranch, convinced that if she were to leave, that McBride family would start unraveling at the seams. Maggie's love for books has always been a significant part of her life. She dreams of becoming an author, using her writing to express the emotions and thoughts she often finds difficult to articulate in person. Additionally driven by her compassionate nature and the challenges she's faced, Maggie aspires to get into social work. She wants to make a difference in people's lives, particularly those who have experienced loss or hardship.

  Parker McBride / God forbid Maggie and Parker are ever in a room together, these two seem to attract trouble without thinking. Trouble One and Trouble Two, as much of the family like to call them. Despite Parker's accident, which has distanced them for a number of reasons -- Parker's frustration, Maggie's guilt -- there's still an unspoken language between them, like they just get each other. Sure, their communication is shot and sometimes Maggie oversteps trying too much to help, but dammit if it doesn't mean they love each other. Trying to mitigate between respecting his independence but still ever the little sister, it's bittersweet seeing him stuck here for the time being.

  Amber was born in Midland, where she spent the first ten years of her life with a mother and a father. Those years were always looked on fondly, with her having everything she needed for a stable childhood. Closest to her mother, the two bonded over music, with Amber learning to sing and play guitar from her.
  
  The worst day of Amber's life came when she was ten years old and was taken out of class one afternoon to be brought home where she was told her mother had been killed in a car accident. In the months that followed, her father struggled in his own ways to handle his grief. Amber found herself being cared for by her grandparents. For some time, she was withdrawn, saying very little whilst filling her time with playing the guitar and getting lost in her own thoughts.
  
  Even when her father came out of his own grief and focused on her, she remained withdrawn. They moved to Marathon, which on first impression seemed boring to her. But it didn't take long to warm to the place. Between making new friends and exploring the nearby ranch, she started to feel like the place was home. Soon enough, she came back out of her shell and returned to the confident daughter Tyler knew. After that, she bonded more with her father than she had before, especially as it had always been her mother she was closest to before her death.
  
  During her high school years, Amber dated Parker McBride. He was the first real boyfriend she had and eventually her first love. Not that she expressed those feelings so blatantly to him - she wanted him to say those words first. However, after high school, they drifted apart, which she believed was on Parker's account rather than hers. He messed her around and then went on to join the navy. Though they hooked up on some occasions when he came back to town for holidays, she couldn't help but feel he'd shown little care for her feelings.
  
  With her own move to Odessa to study, it became easy to break off any contact with Parker. She would visit her father but stay away from the McBrides, despite making so many friends amongst them. That also paved the way for her to meet Christian Walton, who was in the later stages of his law degree. A year after she'd completed her studies, Christian found his first job in corporate law, but it was in Austin. As she was struggling to find work she enjoyed in Odessa, she agreed to move with Christian to Austin.
  
  At first, things were going well for the couple. But the cracks appeared early on, even if at the time she chose to ignore them rather than admit she'd made a mistake moving to Austin. Christian began criticising the way she acted and dressed. When they would socialise with his friends and colleagues, she had to wear the clothes he picked out and consciously choose her words the whole time. Matters didn't improve when she met his parents, who looked down on her for the way she spoke and the upbringing she'd had.
  
  Somehow, Amber stayed with Christian for years, with the period in the middle being better and him showing more respect. But he was still controlling and emotionally abusive towards her. The final straw came when she discovered he was seeing another woman - a fellow lawyer. Then, something snapped within Amber and she felt her old self rush back to the surface. Aware of a case he'd been working on for months, where he didn't care that a small family business would face ruin by his ruthless client, she decided to get her revenge. Switching his case files before he left for court that morning, he was left beyond red-faced when he realised most of his paperwork had been switched for other case work. With her bags already packed when he stormed home that day, the two came to blows. After Christian pushed her against the wall in anger, she knocked him for six with a powerful punch to the jaw.
  
  After that, Amber got into her car and drove herself back home. Back to Marathon, where she deep down had always known she belonged. The bitter taste of the city made her appreciate Marathon even more. Having been back for a couple of months, she's reconnecting with her father and slowly trying to catch up with old friends who she'd left behind years ago.

  Jack has no formal education beyond high school, and he only finished that to please his mother. Despite the basic education he reads well and writes at a level that got him published more than a few times in Range Magazines under the pen name "John Tuttle". He owns pretty much every National Geographic ever printed, loves to read about foreign lands he will likely never see, and embraces local cultures, be it Texan, Spanish, Mexican, or Comanche, with a passion. He hires men and women for their skill, not their skin colour, and the Ranch staff shows the diversity of his choices.
  
  There are few better men to have as a friend, and fewer still you would fear as an enemy. Jack is a hard man, beaten and shaped by the weather and work on the Texas plain, and his no nonsense attitude reflects that. You want to know what the man is thinking, ask him, he'll tell you straight up.

  History:
  Named after one of Texas's most beloved sons, Texas Jack Omohundro, and born to a family of Ranchers, there was only one path Jack could have taken in his life. From the moment he was born he had faced the world with a stern expression broken occasionally by a broad, easy smile. He attended school in Marathon, one of roughly twenty students, and barely eked by in pretty much every class. It was on the Range, and around the Ranch, that he truly flourished, quickly becoming the son that any father with a legacy to pass on might wish for.
  
  He could ride a horse by the age of four and shoot the eye out of an antelope by the time he was six. He grew up in the saddle, riding with his father and other range hands before he turned twelve. His love of animals was plain from a young age and they have always seemed to love him back. He quickly gained a reputation for working with horses, training dogs, and rounding up stubborn cattle; gophers of course are not extended his mercy, given their nasty habit of digging holes that can snap a horses leg.
  
  Jack killed his first man when he was fifteen. The story as the papers tell it is of a young Jack riding the plains and stumbling across two men trying to rustle several of the family cattle. He called for his father who was some distance away and then approached them as they loaded the last longhorn into a trailer. One of the men drew a pistol and fired twice at the young man, one bullet passing through Jacks hat, the other slamming into the horn of his saddle. Jack cooly returned fire and his bullet hit the rustler in the throat, dropping him into the dirt; the second man surrendered without a fight. A local paper jokingly said "Teaxs Jack has been Reborn"; the nickname stuck.
  
  Years passed and Jack slowly took on more and more of the day to day running's of the Ranch. His brother went to war, his sister collected books, and Jack ranged the colossal McBride spread. Several women came and went, some leaving when they realized he would never love them more than being outside, and others when they realized the Ranch was not as rich as rumour suggested. Twice he assisted lawmen in capturing wanted fugitives fleeing across the Ranch, and a third time ended in a shootout when a fugitive tried to draw a shotgun on the weathered looking cowboy and took two rifle bullets to the chest for his trouble.
  
  He met and married Jessica McBride, a military veteran and champion barrel racer, after they were introduced by Parker. The two reside on the ranch and have a little girl, Rowan, who is now just over a year old.
  
  He was appointed as a "Special Ranger" by the Texas Government just before his 29th birthday, an honour he has held since that date. Some rumours swirl that during his tenure a number of rustlers, poachers, and thieves have vanished without a trace but no one has been able to confirm any of the speculation.

  Jessica was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to an oil rigger dad and a waitress mom. When her dad left the family her mom returned home to Texas with four year old Jessica in tow. As a youth her life was largely uneventful until one fateful day she decided to turn her hand at fire fighting. She knew nothing about it, was just nineteen years old, and wanted to help others. She crushed her selection process and was hired the following year. Fast forward three years and an assault charge later - for punching a drunk male co-worker "looking for a good time in the throat - and she was out of a job.
  
  Never one to hang her head she turned to the United States Army Corps of Engineers. She was deployed shortly after training to Afghanistan where she spent a confusing two tours either construction new infrastructure, or finding new ways to blow it up later on. It was on the Afghan Plain that she saw her first and only taste of combat during which she earned the Silver Star for coolness under fire and rescuing several comrades after their convoy was ambushed.
  
  She finished out her five year hitch and returned to Texas with some money and no idea what she was going to do next. Her wanderings took her to the rodeo where she met Parker McBride. The two bonded over their time in the military and as he went into bull riding she started barrel racing. Unlike her husband who grew up in the saddle, she had a natural talent that hadn't been tapped yet. Four years in a row she dominated the circuit and it was during this time Parker introduced her to his older brother, Texas Jack.   Tyler was born and raised in Houston, Texas. His childhood was farily uneventful, with good grades, family, and home. Once he graduated high school, he opted to go straight into police training. He always had respect for the law and saw it as a good use of his younger years until he figured out what he wanted to do long-term. After graduating the academy, he was stationed in San Antonio. There, he helped the police department uncover various cartel rings, arrest petty criminals, etc.
  
  When he was 24, he met the love of his life: Becca. She was a school teacher in the inner city, working at a public elementary school. Before they could get hitched, the couple dealt with the blow that they had a baby girl on the way. In order to get out of such a stressful city, Tyler managed to transfer to the Midland police force. There, Amber was born, and the young family started their beginnings. Becca began teaching at a well-funded school, and he managed to keep steady evening shift work. Things were well for the young family, and they were happy and healthy living a simple life.
  
  One fruitless morning after a long night on the beat, after dropping Amber off at school, Tyler received the worst news of his life. Becca never made it to school that morning. His darling wife died in a car accident. With his job, he was able to discover the details—ones he might've been better off not knowing. The second driver involved was asleep at the wheel, a rigman coming off shift. The town, of course, came to support the now widowed father. Both his parents as well as Becca's stayed in town, helping care for Amber while he grieved. All of the drama and pain was only intensified by this, and the unwanted attention made his job even more difficult. The only solution, in his mind, was numbing the pain. He turned to the bottle, finding himself more often than not buzzed throughout the day to sober up for work in the evenings. Thankfully, his family intervened before any serious damage to his career could occur. In order to take care of himself, Tyler resigned from the force and took a sabbatical.
  
  He traveled the west coast in his pickup, taking the time to travel and be with his thoughts and nature. The time alone helped him realign his focus upon Amber, missing her dearly and knowing the importance he had in her life. He was her sole protector and provider now, and she needed him now more than ever. Following his travels, he returned home to reunite with her. From then on, he swore nothing would come in his way from keeping her safe. To escape the fuss of the death, Tyler took a police job in Marathon, Texas. The town was even smaller than Midland and far enough from the rest of the world to live a quiet life. There, he got to watch Amber grow into a young woman as well as stay dedicated to his work. Things weren't easy at times, but they made life work. Eventually, he ran for sheriff and won. Not that there was much competition, but now he was a semented member of the town.

For as long as she's breathed, she's practically been apart of the ranch. However, the truth is much simpler. Coming from a hard-working family, she never had extreme oversight since both her parents were often working. They had family to care for across the border, on top of making end's meet in the States. So, it wasn't much of a surprise to hear their daughter drifted about on the McBride ranch. At least for her troubles, (insert name) opted to pay her a small allowance for her help. With the McBride's generosity, her parents established a savings account with the earnings to hopefully pay for school one day.
  
  As she grew older, her love for the land and it's inhabitants never faded. So it only made sense that when she came of age, she wanted to use her skills to become a veternarian. The hardest part was leaving Marathon. She attended school as Texas A&M on scholarship, the best school for livestock veterinarians. After her time in school, she quickly came back to Marathon.   The youngest of the McBride siblings, Edward was born and raised on his family's ranch in Marathon, Texas. As a child, he loved his home life and environment, happily getting involved in learning everything it took to maintain the ranch.   During his time studying at university, Edward and Jennifer returned to Marathon, at the McBride ranch for their wedding ceremony. There was no other place either of them would have dreamed of getting married.
  
  After graduating and obtaining his master degree, Edward found work in real estate where he quickly began to climb the ranks. In those years, he and Jennifer had two children. Despite raising them in the city and ensuring they benefitted from that, Edward made sure they were knowledgeable about their family's roots in Marathon.
  
  Over the years, Edward learned to be ruthless and emotionally detached when it came to business. This was particularly the case once he started working for Franklin Real Estate; a company which was making its mark throughout Texas. There had been times that had called for him to take unpleasant actions in order to secure developments, but such cut-throat actions ceased to affect him as success was better than failure.
  
  When it came to family, Edward was always able to switch off his business side and be a good father, husband, and uncle to his family. Although years earlier he and Jennifer had agreed to stop at two children, their third child was born 15 years ago; a daughter named Elisa. Unplanned but every bit loved, they doted on her just as they did their eldest two kids. Sadly, their daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of four and passed away 18 months later. Having always felt in control and equipped to dictate the future, the loss knocked Edward down for a time. He felt powerless, and despite logically having no control over the girl's fate, he still felt as though he should have done something to save her.
  
  From his grief, Edward emerged even more determined with his work. Every project he managed, he believed to be in the best interests of all parties involved. He was more motivated than ever to succeed. Over the last decade, he has done exactly that. A highly successful businessman and a present family man, he believes he's found the perfect balance. Even if some family members may see things very differently.
  
  When his brother went to Boseman to help Parker following his injuries, Edward stepped in and agreed to take up temporary residence with Jennifer back at the ranch. During that time, Edward has had his eyes opened even wider to the dire financial situation his family's ranch is in. He knows his family needs to make big changes if they're going to survive. Edward believes he has a solution, but one that would be unpopular with many. He can't knowingly let them fail without trying to intervene.

  Avalon was the result of her father’s mistakes as a young man and it was evident in the way how both her parents weren’t prepared for a child to come in their lives, her mother, an ambitious city girl with a fiery personality came into the Marathon for roughly two weeks ended up getting pregnant and found out afterwards when she had returned to El Pasó. During her younger years she remembers lots of arguments and squabbles between her parents views, her parents trying to make their relationship work for the sake of Avalon but it was rather a sorry sight seeing two young people having no idea to care for a child.
  
  Eventually her mother decided to pack her things and return back to El Paso, almost a four hour drive away. Taken away from Marathon as a small child she remembers seeing the small town disappear into the distance as she made her way to El Paso but the city scared Avalon unused to the newness of the sounds and people, terribly homesick, she begged her mom to let her stay with her dad. Her mother conceded but with a deal that she’d be back at El Paso every summer, that’s how she spent most of her time until she was thirteen. Her mother had gotten into an abusive relationship when Avalon was eight. Oftentimes her mother and her boyfriend would end up in an argument laced with verbal abuse from her boyfriend, and sometimes the brunt would be directed towards Avalon.
  
  Those few summers were one of Avalon’s worst memories, it wasn’t until when her mother’s boyfriend smacked Avalon for the first time that the hidden fear and anger inside her burst and she bit the guy. She ended up with a black eye when she came back to Marathon where her father took matters into his own hands. After that her mother decided that Avalon would be safer in Marathon. Nowadays her mother usually comes by to visit Avalon more than take her with the city, ashamed of not breaking off the relationship earlier with her boyfriend and guilty for letting Avalon face the same situation she was in. Avalon didn’t blame her mom but acknowledged the fact that sometimes people would seem harmless but end up being the snake.
  
  As the daughter of the owner of the bar, Whiskey Road, she’s well-known around the small town. Having her fair share of high school boys and girls attempting to befriend her, simply because they want free liquor.   Ever since Savannah was a child she felt a draw towards Marathon and her cousins lifestyle. As a child she wished to live with them, to stay on the farm and away from the bustle of the city but no matter how much she pleaded or begged she would always be put into the car and driven back to Austin to her home. It was not that Savannah didn't have friends, she was actually very popular as a child, she just knew that the city life was not for her and so at the age of 8 years old she made a promise to herself that when she was grown up she would settle in Marathon and live out her childhood dream.
  
  In her teen years, Savannah used to visit Marathon more on her own, going down to stay with her aunt and uncle and earning her keep by working on the ranch. She always had a particular ease when it came to animals and she found that she thoroughly enjoyed getting down and dirty whilst she worked and so it was a no brainer to train her as an animal handler.
  
  However after the death of her baby sister, Elisa, something changed within Savannah. Struggling to cope with the grief, Savannah stopped visiting the ranch and instead threw herself into her studies and began to follow her fathers footsteps in to the Real Estate world. She found that the developer aspect was too cut throat for her and instead focused solely on residential real estate, showing houses and gaining clients quite quickly out of college. She gave up on her dream of moving to Marathon and instead stayed in Austin, close to her parents to help and support them, even if they didn't need it.

  Being the eldest child of his father, Edward, Dylan grew up highly independent and overly responsible. From an early age, he was exposed to the family ranch and lifestyle, argueably moreso than his sisters. His father wanted him to enjoy the beauty of the ranch and what it offered: family and fortitude. When they'd visit, he was always encouraged to spend time with his cousin Jack and the ranch hands. However, he never enjoyed it. Whether it ended up with a trantrum or an argument, something in his soul never settled or found comfort in the ranch. Once he grew older and had sisters to take care of, he became more tolerable. With his sisters usually running off with his cousins, Dylan liked to spend his time in the vehicle barn playing with dirt bikes or up at the house with the adults.
  
  Whenever the family was in their Austin home, Dylan felt completely at home. His friends were there; there was so much to do and explore in the growing city, and he felt more at peace. He enjoyed having his father around after work and hearing of his conquests and aquisitons. In his mind, his father was the best role model. Kind and tenderhearted with his family, but a force to be reckoned with by others. However, at the age of 12, his youngest sister passed from cancer. He remembers the long nights in the hospitals, in charge of watching Savannah while his parents focused on Elisa. The whole experience left a permanent stain on his mind—a reminder that life was never certain. In her honour, from time to time he'll shave down his hair. As a symbol of his support for her and a physical reminder to never forget her.
  
  Like his father, he decided to study at the University of Texas at Austin. College life allowed him to skip out on Marathon trips and explore himself. Like the city mantra, "Keep Austin Weird," Dylan made sure to take full advantage of his twenties. There wasn't a drug he didn't try, a bar he didn't close, and a person he didn't kiss. He started dying his hair for the fun of it, a tradition he'll occasionally uphold in between buzzes, and fully threw himself into the city culture. His recklessness was met with an incredible academic career as well, managing to keep his grades high. Once he graduated from undergrad, he had to clean up his act. He pursued graduate school while starting at the bottom of Franklin Real Estate.
  
  Following his graduation, Dylan has slowly earned his spot within the firm. Despite following his dad's reputation, his prowess over numbers and managing agents has earned him his own reputation and respect. His youthful mentality and deep understanding of the city give him an advantage in the market and his clients. He's put behind his incredibly explorative days, comfortable in his grind for success in his thrities. In order to succeed, a healthy mind and body are key. Aside from the occasional party and good time, he's largely grown up in order to be the next man of the household. His current charge by the company is to ensure Edward delivers on his current promises to the firm. The ranch, for years, has been a passion project in the eyes of the company with no real deliverables. Following the pandemic, there is a need for innovation and change. Is Edward the one to do it?   Strength - Aaron wasn’t called “Tank” for nothing during his high school years he was very much one of the tallest guys as well as the burliest for many years playing on the football team, and he has never lost his strength and can easily carry a weight about two-hundred pounds with ease.
  
  Organization - He has a perceptible eye for organizing things or people, such as management although this is a later skill in life that he acquired and still works hard to keep making sure he doesn’t fall back in his former path.
  
  Silver tongue - Being a bar owner as well as a temporary bar tender at times he manages to hear a lot of gossip on the latest town news or manage to use his silver tongue to ease out some answers from his patrons, nothing that would ever harm them of course.

  A natural troublemaker at heart Aaron formerly was a charming tramp around the town for young girls and tourists alike. However with the death of his father and the birth of his daughter, he took on a much more serious demeanor. In spite of this, he still carries his natural affinity for mischief around his family although it has calmed down compared to his younger years.
  
  Unlike when he was younger Aaron is much more level-headed and thinks rationally before he begins his actions, when he speaks he makes sure to command the attention of everyone around him, and he listens to those he deems as worth listening to. As much as he’s grown out of his young mannerisms he couldn’t get the one thing which drove him, competitiveness, it didn’t matter what the sport or thing that he was doing, his natural drive to win leads him to act much freely and unfiltered.
  
  Aaron may not be the smartest academically unlike his daughter but his street smarts and silver tongue has proved more than useful in his life and still manages to get by without ever getting in trouble too badly with the law besides the fact he was a punk when he was a teenager.

  History:
  Aaron‘s great-great-grandfather founded a bar near the McBride Ranch, and generations from generations they all took on the role of taking after the precious bar. Aaron was no different, the oldest child of two meant he often was dealt with a strict hand. His father, Walter Rosewood Jr. was a traditional man with little to no tolerance for weakness, and oftentimes Aaron found his family life stifling, at school he was expected for good grades and high achievements. At one point he suddenly snapped, he rebelled against everything he was taught. Fooled around with girls and booze a lot in his late years of high school and eventually it go to the point where his own father was ready to disown his own son but thankfully both his mother and sister managed to get Aaron back on the right path.
  
  He began working around town, trying to find jobs that avoided the bar, he still played around with some girls but they come and went, and they weren’t for long. He didn’t take anything seriously except the lax facade of listening to his father’s words. It wasn’t until his father was suddenly hit with a heart attack at fifty-three that Aaron woke up.
  
  Seeing his heartbroken mother take on the load of taking care of the bar and bills wasn’t easy for the family. Remembering the lessons his father taught him Aaron took on the bar burden, but at the same time his most recent fling Bailey had gotten pregnant.
  
  It was a time in his life where Aaron had wished he had his father for support, advice, and love. Eventually he decided to court Bailey for a while and handle the bars responsibilities as well. He’d never known until then how annoying drunks were, and felt the guilt of putting his father in the same spot after having the same problem years earlier.
  
  However his biggest support and comfort were his mother, younger sister, and his young daughter. Watching her grow and seeing the bar come to life again was like having his dad around, and Aaron doesn’t take people disrespecting the bar easily, worst case he’ll ban some guys and gals from entering it ever again if they tick him off enough.
