If what she said was true, then he couldn’t blame her for wanting to hurt or even kill the man — lord knew he and his sister had done worse things for revenge. And we’ve wanted a lot of that for everything done to us and our family, he added privately. “Look,” he said, softly, “I understand you want vengeance for everything he did to you. But you’d be better vindicated if you helped us put him away where he can’t hurt anyone ever again.”
