Plot:
A flyer was sent out to all the influential and noble houses far and wide, inviting all unwed suitors, regardless of gender to bid their hand to the Varenth kingdom's fifth prince. The invitation is stylized so that the prince is presented more like a princess, even including a picture of the prince in a feminine way. The flyer especially welcomes more dominant female suitors and male suitors seeking a partner to want to protect.
Some of the noble houses struck this as odd, maybe just a joke or maybe the prince got into some kind of trouble and was to be mocked. However the reality is that the fifth prince is already in his twenties and has not found a partner yet and tends to be more dainty and effeminate than his brothers. Even being put in a dress or more feminine clothing by his sisters may have embarassed him a little bit, but he didn't really dislike it either.
A ball is scheduled to suitors to meet the prince and suitors are even offered to stay near the palace before and after the ball, for as long as the prince needs to find a partner.
Setting:
Mostly in Varenth kingdom. A relatively large hilly kingdom with plains and forests. Suitor's quarters are in the capital of Varenthinian. Suitor's quarters can vary between apartments/condos to full mansions usually based on standing and wealth. Even suitors with relatively low standing still get an apartment/flat that would be considered luxurious to most commoners.
The world has magics. The different types of magics are elemental (fire, air/lightning, water/ice, earth/plant), summoning, taming/druid, healing/light, dark, necromancy, abyssal, enhancement/combat.
The time setting of the story can be medieval, industrial era (second half 1800s), early modern (1920s to 1940s) or modern, depending on what people are interested in.
Protagonist basic info:
Fifth prince: Age in his 20s, panromantic, androgynous, effeminate, timid
Deuteragonists:
Suitors: Can be male, female or non-binary. Preferably more outgoing than the prince. Can be noble, soldier, knight or merchant of origin. Commoners are also allowed if they possess significant standing. At least 18 years old. Preferably, around the prince's age.
