First question being would we want to roll dice or keep it more freeform.

My idea for dice would involve just a d20 and whenever you want to do a notable action like say attack someone or pick a pocket. You roll a d20 and the higher the number is determining how successful one is.

Say to kill a attacking bandit is you need to roll 11 or higher. If you roll 13 you kill the guy but it took a moment. You roll 10 the bandit is able to parry your attack/ dodge. You roll 1 or 2 and the bandit probably hurt you or you tripped. Hit a 20 though and you are essentially God in that moment unable to fail.

I would let you know in posts and ooc what number needs to be hit or what a success or failure is.
If you roll 20 on a dragon on your 1st hit you won't kill it, but certainly wound it.

Free-form is more you write what you want and I'll react accordingly. If you write how you sneakily take out a bandit and it seems plausible or well written then you're probably successful.
If you write how you storm into the gang of enemies to behead and bisect them all with single swings then I'd probably write how bandits dodged and fought back.

Im leaning towards dice but I'm happy either way

I was gonna make drow/dark elves "Lunari" and blend drow lore with my own but I'm happy for drow to remain their own thing and Lunari being another variety of elf.

Either way you're cs is good to go
 
My main idea was to have inspirations from dnd but not lift it entirely as i only know certain parts and what ive seen. (Im certainly no expert on it)

that said you and i can adapt and fit dnd lore here and we can change things as needed.You can keep drow stuff as you like, I can sprinkle in Wonari and Lunari later on.

More importantly, how do you feel about the question in the first post?
 
I'd prefer for there to be a dice system to be honest. Would keep combat a little more fair. Same with interactions that involve certain actions (i.e persuasion, intimidation and deception) or when circumstances are dire (i.e running from a gargantuan monster, escaping a collapsing dungeon or cavern, outrunning an orc war band or chasing a Thief through a busy townsquare).
 
Surprise~ I'm back and working on a character. I'm just popping in this thread here to vote freeform, or at least to go easy on the dice rolls. RP like this is more about trust between the player and GM, and NeonFlow NeonFlow has enough experience by now for me to offer my trust with little hesitation.
 
That said if we all wanna start I can make a 2nd character (or someone else can)

My original idea was a hobbit and minotaur/big kind but dumb beastkin who acts as the hobbit's enforcer and distraction as needed. The check changes slightly to them trying to find others
 
Helloo!!! I would love to play your tiny giant dynamic. I was thinking either a centaur or a minotaur. Or I had this idea for a deer/moose beastkin that uses their shed antlers as weapons.
 
Big moose/deer/minotaur sort is gladly accepted, if you wanna ask questions to help fill the cs i can help but if you wanna fill it out and edit if need be its all good
 
Sure I might be a sec making my cs, I usually take a bit of time on them. And honestly I may ask many questions haha. :ghostr:
 
Somewhat, I'd need to see before I say yay or nay. I'm not wanting to deny people outright but I'd like for things to make sense
 
I'd say they have more strength and endurance, I can't think of any moose facts that come to mind to translate into a humanoid hybrid
