-Keila Vanya-

Keila had enough with this annoying duke and his court, not believing this...this disgraceful behavior from a royal. How dare he laugh at their faces, not believing Miss Blue and cuffing someone who wasn't even part of this. She glared at the portly man that's sitting in his silly chair, then she grinned mischievously.

He wants proof...She'll give him proof alright.

After Arthur setting his arm on fire and put it out in a frantic manner, Keila thought she might as well join in the fun...Quickly walking up to the other elf who called himself Filthoril, she released a sharp air sickle to cut his cuffs and setting him free. Then she briskly walked up to the Duke, not caring if she just stunned the people close by when she used her powers.

She concentrated the rest of her energy, curling her fingers, and punched the air out with her two fists at random directions. The duke was hit with a soft gust of wind, his robes blown over his head while the court's people nearby suffered the same fate. "T-there. Your proof that we have elemental powers. Happy now? You should be grateful that we even help save your city!" Keila scolded the Duke and his court.

"If we weren't there, your city would have been destroyed by that dragon, including your house, Sir duke. Yet, you dare try to accuse us of being liars and laugh at our achievements." She narrowed her eyes as she watched the duke fixed himself up. "Now you know that we're not liars. We have elemental powers. Some of us helped defeat the dragon and others were just there by coincidence. Since you obviously don't want to reward us for our good deed of saving YOUR city, unlike the men who are under YOUR name to keep the peace, the least you can do is let us go peacefully. We're not here to cause trouble, we were just passing by just like any other traveler when the dragon attacked your city that YOU were suppose to take care of." Keila reasoned, trying her best to not stutter while giving a piece of her mind. Who cares about titles? Who cares about having powers? All they should care is just live their lives the way they want and not bother anybody else. It shouldn't be that hard. It really shouldn't...

Cameron blinked awake. The scent of dust and blood filled his nose and he felt around for his cane sluggishly. It seems something happened to cause the villagers to evacuate. Whatever happened it left a nasty smell in its wake. He scrunched up his face as he caught a whiff of something rotting. Disgusting. Did nobody clean up around here? He felt around the ground, hoping not to touch whoever's rotting corpse was nearby. Cameron touched the familiar wood and used it to steady himself as he stood up. He couldn't hear anyone around him, and the corpse was masking any other scents that could be in the air.

His hand brushed against the mark on his shoulder. His housemate had pointed it out to him after a particularly vivid dream. It was becoming a habit to check on it at this point, Cameron could still remember the bright, searing pain that disappeared when he awoken. He gently traced the mark, as if it could cause him pain. He knew he was being silly, it was only a dream after all, he knew none of it was real and it was just a strangely vivid and lucid dream. His hands started to sweat as he clenched onto his cane. Unknown to him, pebbles started to roll around in a frenzy, his emotions affecting his powers.

Cai

Shapeshifter//Light Elemental

The light sparkled around her hands, sunbeams bouncing in a prismatic cage of her own design. Perhaps such a use of energy was wasteful, but how was Cai ever to know her limits if she did not test them? She remembered her mother, telling Cai to go human, and scolding her for resisting. Her mother had wanted Cai to test every aspect of her shifting identity, to know what she could handle and what she couldn't. Would her mother be proud of her now? She was spending much more time as a human nowadays, ever since that dream. Ever since she had realized that, if she was human, she could bend and shape light. Even use it to heal broken wings, and paws with thorns in them. The animals had come to trust her over the years, even if they knew she ate meat. They also knew that she only ate what fell into her traps, and then only if it was old and weak. So when they were hurt and had nowhere else to go, they would find her. Sometimes she would be human and she could help them. Sometimes she would be a creature, and they would not recognize her. Such was the way of the woods, and the balance Cai had found there. But now she was spending more and more time as human, and could help the animals more and more. That was a boon, and the reason she had decided not to question the gift given to her. The origin of it did not matter, so long as she could use it as she wished to protect her home.

A sound caught her attention and Cai stood, letting go of the light she had been holding around her. It sounded like a roar... A dragon, so nearby. If it got too close, the forest could burn, and she would not be able to do anything to help. Without a second thought, Cai stood and began to strip off the skins she wrapped around her frail human body. It would not shift with her, and she did not want her clothes to get torn. Gently, she placed them in a folded pile, adding the simple dagger she always carried on top. When she got to where she was going, she would need the clothes and the dagger again. Her power over light would be much more helpful than any beast shape she could take, when it was time to fight. But, for now, Cai began to shift, gritting her teeth against the pain. Bone scraped against bone as her body shrunk, ligaments tore and reformed, muscles changed shape and purpose. Shifting wasn't fun but it was worth it. Within a couple of minutes, Cai was now an eagle, giant and golden. Her eyes were sharp and, with a couple beats of her wings, she was lifting off. She swooped down slightly to grab the bundle of clothes and the dagger in her claws, and then sped up into the sky, breaking through the foliage.

As soon as she reached open air, the eagle-sharp eyes caught sight of the smoke and destruction that signaled a dragon's presence. It was in the city that was nearby her home. Normally, such a thing would not be her concern, but she was worried about the dragon finishing off the city and moving on to the forest. If she could help stop it before it began to hurt her home, then all the better. With another beat of her wings, Cai began to soar in the direction of the city. On wings, it was quick enough, though she had never really tried the journey before. Maybe once, when there had been a fire and she had wanted to make sure it wouldn't spread too far. That had been ages ago, however, and she had forgotten how strange humanoid cities were.

Although the trip was not long, Cai found herself alighting much too late to actually do anything. The dragon lay dead in the town, and most of the people had evacuated. Hopefully they would not think they could enter her home for safety. Cai did not want the animals upset and hunted by masses of humans. And if any of the animals dared to hurt a human, well. She had seen how they reacted to such things, and it was never good for the animal. Thinking of her home, Cai was about to take off once more when her sharp eyes caught a movement down below. Cai froze, peering downwards. There was a person, lying on the ground. Perhaps they had been attacked by the dragon... Maybe they could tell her where the people had gone, and if she needed to worry about her home.

Still keeping a tight claw on her belongings, Cai began to wing her way down to the ground. She landed softly and began to shift once more. Her skin burned as feathers retreated into it, her beak melted into a mouth that was able to gasp with pain, and every muscle and bone in her body had to stretch to accommodate a larger form. Finally, Cai stood there in her human shape, naked and with her clothes clutched in her hand. As quickly as she could, she began to tug on the skins. It was a shirt and trousers, with a hooded cape. All of it made from furs and skins, all simple and rough. Cai never bothered with shoes, either. She picked her way through the rubble towards the person on the ground, until she was close enough to see the ground around him... vibrating? Maybe? Something was making the rocks go crazy, anyway.

"What is happening?" Cai said, her voice just loud enough to reach the man. She was frowning down at the pebbles moving on their own. Certainly, she wasn't doing that. Did that mean he was? "What are you doing?"

Large open skies and that endless horizon were all she needed taking a deep breath skating on top of her broomstick soaring through the sky at a high speed performing several tricks in the sky.  She wondered why no one with powers rides broomsticks though the idea of chafing in places was present the way she rode hers it didn’t bother her at all. Traveling all over the world free of rules, especially her father the very thought of no one telling her what to do or to go was amazing, however, she was having a hard time flying these days with the amount of stuff she’s stolen but she just couldn’t bring herself to get rid of it just in case she needed it. Looking down, she saw signs of a town and decided to descend to have a closer look, just high enough to soar over the buildings, but low enough to get a good view of the people around.

Ah, civilization the smell of hustle and bustle and the smell of… rotting flesh? Well, that wasn’t something she smelled too often, especially not here, but it most defiantly wasn’t human, it had to be something big. Her curiosity peeked, she decided to fly closer, stopping her boom somewhere further away. Snapping her finger dismissing her boom to go and wait somewhere safe until she summoned it again and began to make her way forward. She could see two people already here a man who looking like he was having quite the interesting day and a girl much like her wanted to know what was going on.

“Yea feel me in too would ya, ” she shouted walking closer.

Cameron was snapped back into reality when someone spoke behind him. He whirled around quickly and tried his best to brandish his cane towards her.  A habit he had gotten into while still living with Alex. You never know who you could trust when living with criminals. Another, different voice piped up behind her, growing closer. They both seemed to be female, and their voices were different enough that Cameron could tell the difference between them.

" All that happened was a city wide evacuation drill." He rolled his eyes. "Pay no attention to this rotting pile of meat beside me" As he replied, he noticed some sort of weird noise around him. It seemed to fade as he focused on it. Cameron scrunched his face up in concentration trying to make the two out. They were both dark blobs against the brown of the town walls. He lowered his arm as he carefully walked towards the rusty red smudge in the corner of his eye. Poking it with his cane, he asked. "What is this anyway? Some sort of large, flayed animal?" It was surprisingly solid, but it had ridges. A large lizard maybe? Cameron knew of people that ate lizards in some of the desert nations so maybe some stupid tourist brought one with them? That wouldn't explain the roar and large commotion he heard before he passed out though. To his knowledge, regular lizards didn't make sounds, and people probably wouldn't panic over some large lizard.

He stepped away from the thing, to face the two again. "Sarcasm aside, I have no idea what could have happened, I blacked out shortly after everyone began panicking." He shifted his weight onto his cane as he spoke, eyes staring vacantly at the wall. Hopefully they'd be able to provide some information, even in actual evacuation drills no one really leaves, people trusted the city guard to put a stop to any danger. Not that Cameron himself trusted them to that extent, he knew that a lot of them were quite useless at their jobs. Anyone with the intelligence of a functioning sentient being could probably find ways to cause mischief, no matter how destructive.

Reiji zipped through the air letting out a shout as he felt the rush of adrenaline in his veins along with the crackle of electricity at his feet relying on his fast reflexes to make the sudden sharp twists and turns to avoid the trees. His control of his lightning board was much better now than it had been a few days ago and although his mother might say otherwise, there was nothing wrong with having a little fun while getting used to the new gifts he gained following that most perculiar dream.

Reiji swerved to a stop at a clearing and looked at his shoulder, studying the mark that peeped out from underneath his singlet. It still felt surreal to him, having the ability to control lightning but his initial surprise and disbelief hadn't stopped him from putting his newfound abilities to the test and causing a few accidents as he adjusted to them. He still struggled from time to time with control but at least he wasn't letting random bolts of lightning fly nowadays.

Reiji moved to head back into the forest for another round when he picked up a scent that made his nose burn and his brow furrow. Reiji turned the other way, following his nose, the smile gone from his face as his board carried him through the sky. He moved slowly, surveying the lands below until he found what he was looking for. His eyes narrowed as he swooped down towards the dragon corpse that lay rotting on the ground, debris surrounding it. Another attack and they only seemed to be increasing in number. The whole situation was getting very worrying and no one seemed to know what was provoking all the attacks.

Reiji frowned as he neared and picked out movement near the dragon. Humans. He upped his speed, kicking up dust as he made a sharp landing. The board disappeared from his feet and he landed on the ground with a small thud as he looked around at the three humans he had seen from the distance. They looked unharmed at first glance. Possibly drawn to the dragon corpse for reasons similar to his. He needed to find out more first. "Any of you know what happened with this dragon?"

The man did not seem to understand her question. Or, at the very least, he did not have a chance to answer it before someone else joined them. As soon as she felt a presence behind her, Cai snapped around, just as the approaching girl spoke. She seemed to want to casually join in on the conversation, though Cai couldn't be sure. Cai was well aware of her own short-comings, and reading others was definitely one of them. After all, she typically avoided spending time around people. Coming into the city was a precaution, and she was glad enough that nearly everyone was gone. Although, that reminded her of what she had wanted to know in the first place. So, she turned back towards the man, though she took a step back so that she could keep both people in her eye line. One should never turn their back on a stranger. Even a seemingly harmless one, like a man who was clearly almost blind. There were plenty of animals that had no use for sight, but could defend themselves if need be, and Cai would not underestimate the man.

"A drill," Cai said slowly, gazing straight at the dragon corpse right next to them. "A drill with a living dragon." Well. A previously living dragon, anyway. Something had done away with it before she'd even managed to arrive. Cai bent over slightly, peering at the dragon's body. There were various marks upon it, but the death blow seemed to have come from a weapon to the head. Efficient killing stroke, at the very least. And no danger of the dragon rampaging into her home. "Where do evacuated people go?" Cai asked suddenly, remembering her original purpose here. If they were all herding their way towards the woods, she would have to get back...

And then there was another stranger approaching. How many people wanted to come to a scene of mass destruction? And why couldn't Cai get a straight answer so that she could leave this city behind? Cai had never liked buildings and walls, and she especially didn't like spending an unnecessary amount of time in them. This newly approaching human seemed just as interested in the events as everyone else, asking yet another question. Cai sighed in frustration, once again taking a couple steps back so she could keep an eye on all three strangers. Humans were so nosey and talkative.

"I don't. I just came to make sure the dragon didn't go to the forest. And now I am here to make sure the people don't go into the forest."

Uno simply stared confusedly, a blank expression occupying her disguised face. She stayed close to the darker parts of the room to make it easier to maintain the illusion that allowed her to blend in with the other humans; after all, she would catch much more attention than she would like if she allowed herself to be shown in her true form. She'd gathered as much from her first experiences within this settlement; she was still sure there were still whispers floating around here and there about a "monster" being about. The rather lumpy figured man in front of her and the others, who was obviously some sort of authority figure, spoke and called them words she had never heard before, save for "pathetic". She'd heard Mother speak that word before, but only once; and she still had little idea what it meant.

Judging by some of the others' reactions, it was clearly not a good thing. Should she react in such a way as well? A few of them decided to display their powers as well, after the man before them laughed, telling them something along the lines of "elemental" magic being "extinct"? She supposed those powers were "elemental" magic- which meant her powers were of the same category as well. "Mother was right." She thought to herself numbly, with a bit of pride. "In such a short time here, I have already learned much." Though she was slightly confused on what was currently happening, due out her short range of vocabulary, it was clear whatever was occurring, she was not supposed to like it. "Is this... 'dragon' the big-" She found herself having to pause in order to swallow, her throat feeling as dry as always. "Big animal from before?" She finished her question in her strained, deep voice, pausing in between some of the syllables. She saw no reason to distrust any of these people, even though the authority figure did seem slightly suspicious. "It was causing disorder. Chaos. I purged it." Her strained voice clearly conveyed her tone of blunt naïveté. "Was that wrong?" Had she broken some sort of law? Was the big creature important?

Samantha put one of her hands on her hips and eyed everyone over the man closest to the dragon and the girl who seemed rather twitchy just when she was about to open her mouth, another person joined. Looking back something told her to stay away from him, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it just something about him made her want to be the furthest thing away from his location right now. Shaking her head of the feeling it finally hit her that a dragon was nice and dead right in front of her, perking up her brow, she made her way over to some food vendor who had already evacuated and stole several knives in his cupboard. One for scaling and one for slicing meat the rest of them, she took just because they were nice and sharp and you never know when you’ll need a knife, tossing them up and catching them as they fell Samantha nonchalantly made her way over to the dragon corpse ignoring everyone else around her.

“Well, better get the good stuff before the looters come, ” she commented, running the knife along the dead creature’s body stripping the scales of the skin that wasn’t completely covered in blood.

Scales were good for armor, teeth and claws were good for swords and its organs would conduct heat wonderfully especially that fire lung that dragons had. She only looked up when the female of this faithful meeting mentioned something about the forest and wanting to make sure no one goes there.

“Huh, you don’t say” she spoke again head still down carving up the corpse as a smile from ear to ear crept along her face.

Eventually, she was done and tied up her sack with the intention of keeping everything here, she’d sell most of it for money to buy a room then store her more valuable carves in a safe location. Putting her fingers in her mouth and whistling as loud as she could Samantha called her broom to her side which somehow found a way to dump all her previously held junk only to be loaded up with more.

"Well, it's been a magical time talking with you all but umm” she started jumping up on top of her broom balancing on it like a board, putting up her index and middle fingers up to the three strangers “Smell ya later” and with that the young magical blasted off towards the forest with full intention to loot everything of value.

A dragon. Well that was certainly new. The first girl said the dragon wasn't living, but she obviously didn't get what sarcasm was so Cameron wasn't sure how reliable she was. Still, he took a few tentative steps away from the dragon and closer to the little group. Someone else, this time a male, had decided to drop in. They were turning into quite the merry little group. The first girl answered his question and said something about the forest.

"You're out of luck then," He said, addressing the first girl. "If it really is an evacuation, which I doubt, all the citizens would have been herded to the upper levels of the forest stronghold." The guards usually said it was for the villagers protection, but it was probably just so the entire town could serve as meat shields for the Duke. God, that man was such a coward. He was the type of person Cameron hated, presumptuous and selfish. Cameron's faced morphed into a scowl as he thought of him. It was one of the only things he missed about Aidevwa, at least the government were decent people.

He was broken out of his thoughts when the other girl spoke up. She said something about taking loot? Cameron wasn't really paying attention. Nevertheless, he watched as the blob who he assumed was the girl approached the dragon corpse, she did something to it and red bits of the dragon slid off. After doing that for a while, she said something to the first girl, and disappeared.

"Well, it seems like she's gone, it is kind of rude to bolt in the middle of a conversation don't you think?." Cameron said, " I suppose introductions are in order, I'm Cameron, and if you wish to continue this conversation I'd like to move somewhere else, I don't know if its either of you or the dragon, but the stench is quite overbearing."

@Sir Pouncelot @Noxx Hollow @Xero

Reiji couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as each of the girls spoke, one voicing her desire to keep people out of the forest and the other looting the dragon before making her exit on her broom. He was about to speak up when the man spoke. Blind, Reiji noted with slight sympathy as he waited for him to finish.

"Certainly." He said, agreeing with Cameron's comment about the runaway rogue. "Not a very friendly bunch are you?" Reiji noted with a frown as he glanced at them then the forest, scrunching up his nose as the pungent smell of the dragon started to get overwhelming. "I'm definitely in agreement about continuing this elsewhere. The smell of dead dragons are always revolting." His face brightened up as he shifted his gaze from the dragon to the two strangers. "I'm Reiji by the way. You can just call me Rei. Nice to meet both of you. I hope we get along." He grinned as he held out his hand to shake theirs.

Cai

Shapeshifter//Light Elemental

There were quite a lot of people around her now. Cai wasn't particularly used to this kind of interaction. All she had wanted was to protect her home, though that goal seemed to be slipping further and further away with each moment. She watched with disinterest as the other girl approached the dragon with a knife, clearly intent on harvesting its parts. That was good. An animal rotting in the middle of the city would do nothing to help the environment. It would be best if the creature could decompose somewhere natural, but with that not being an option, at least it would come to some sort of use. Perhaps when the bones were exposed, Cai would come back for those. They could be quite useful, considering the inherently magical nature of dragons. Cai had never had a chance to obtain or study dragon bones before. Perhaps her human form could use them as some sort of weapon. As Cai watched the girl skinning the dragon, she noted the smile that crept along her face after Cai mentioned her home. Smiles were... typically symptoms of happiness in humanoids, though Cai did not know what could have made this girl happy. Their conversation was brief and impersonal, and Cai had only expressed concern. Humanoids were always incredibly confusing to Cai, however, and she dismissed the girl's smile from her mind. Silently, she watched the girl whistle for, apparently, a broom, before heading off... in the direction of the forest. Cai's home. Cai scowled.

"Do humans typically do the opposite of what they are told?" Cai muttered to herself, already halfway knowing the answer. Her parents had taught her that humanoids could be deceptive, and confusing to those who did not understand their ways. Of course, Cai had never thought she would need to understand how they worked. Avoiding cities and towns and any populated part of the country had always been easy for her, unless there seemed to be a threat to her home. And this was the biggest threat of all. Since, according to the man who could not see, it was not just the girl with the broom that was heading towards her home. "A stronghold?" Cai repeated, still not looking directly at either of the remaining people. "They are not wandering around in the forest, then." That was good. At least it wouldn't be crowded in her home. For a moment, she stayed silent, before turning back to the body of the dragon.

"It was not a particularly good conversation," Cai commented. "And I am going to start heading back towards my home. If you wish to talk with me, then that is where you will have to go as well." She stood there, glancing between the two men. They both seemed much more invested in this conversation than the girl had been. And much more interested in talking than Cai was. Still, they could hold some useful information on how to deal with people in her forest. Cai did not have experience with interacting with others, or needing to protect her home from an influx of humanoids.

"I am Cai, and I need to return to my forest." With that, Cai turned and began to walk in the direction of her home. It would be difficult for humans to keep up with her if she flew, and Cai was still tired from her last transformations. The combination of flying so far and transforming twice in a small amount of time had taken away her energy.

Samantha stood on her broomstick and began to sky surf in her usual style with a large smile on her face imagining all the goodies she would loot from the forest. Would it be some ancient tomb with treasures of some civilization long ago, or extremely rare plant life for her to run experiments on, better yet it could be a hidden ancient library with magical codex galore within. She just couldn’t contain her excitement charging her electricity into her broom and blasting off forward into the final stretch to reach the forest. Like a shooting star she crashed through the foliage and proceeded to grind on a tree branch to the forest floor. She landed with just as much tact, as she was getting there which was none at all, being that she used a bit of an opposing charge to cushion her fall with electricity it created the clap of thunder when she landed.

“Well, not my best landing, but it’ll do, ” she said, laughing dismissing her broom to hide somewhere until she calls it again before proceeding to dart in a random directing within the forest.

Flying around, she would probably end up missing something at least on foot she can comb every nook and cranny of this place and over turn every rock until she found something worth having.
