Too Far Gone

Kendall

By now, Kendall had reason to believe that the head staff at Tennova hated her. The loud knocking at her door at exactly 7 A.M every morning was enough to convince her of that, but the fact that they stole the only pillow she had in her room proved it better than anything else. As she rolled over, feeling the familiar ache in her back that she had been feeling every morning since her and Monkey were "rescued" by the hospital two months ago, she thought back to that faithful day. As if them pretty much kidnapping her in her sleep hadn't been bad enough, they dragged her into one of the offices in the hospital and interrogated her as they would a terroist, or a theif. They seperate her and Monkey for 48 hours, for reasons she did not know. Hell, maybe they questioned the dog too, who knows? She slipped out from underneath the white blanket she had slept with, and nudged at Monkey with her foot, who gladly hopped up off the ground and rubbed herself against Kendall's pale legs. Her vitamin D pills hadn't come in yet for this week, but she hoped they did soon because she was beginning to look like a vampire. It's not like she was the only one though, all the residents did. No one was allowed outside once they were in the facility; with the exception of permitted staff, which she wasn't.

She pulled on her scrubs quickly, fussing with the shirt that was a bit too small for her body. No, she wasn't a doctor, but she was a veternarian student, and to the hospital staff that meant the same thing, so everyday from 7 AM- 3 PM, Kendall's time was dedicated to running medical check ups on every resident in Tennova. Monthly, she was also in charge of collecting the blood of all residents 18 and older. Despite how much Kendall complained, the hospital wasn't really that bad. They offered food and kept them safe from walkers. Which Kendall couldn't really say for the outside world, since she was as good as dead when she was found.

Aimee

She was trying her hardest not to scream, she had long since given up on holding back the tears. Her eyes had been squeezed shut when she heard someone slip in throught the one way glass door. Aimee pushed herself further into the wall that her bed was against. She couldn't get anywhere though, since her hands were restrained. Her eyes flashed open quickly, sending a tear line running down her cheek. "I want Jaime. Where did you take him?" she pleaded, looking up at the woman who had just entered. The woman before her looked young, but tired. Her brown, oily hair was piled ontop of her head laizily. The woman's eyes read suprise as she looked back at Aimee, but not for long. She walked across the room and began to do something over by the sink.

"My name is Kendall. I'm sorry, I don't know who Jaime is." she said, her voice apoligetic. Aimee peeked out the corner of her eye to see that "Kendall's" back was still facing her, and she couldn't tell what she was doing. "He's my brother. He looks just like me, we're twins. He's here, I know it." she mumbled, pulling at her restraints. "Can you let me go?" she asked, shifting her head to look over at the nurse. At that, Kendall twisted her chair around, revealing a brown clip board. "Yeah, I can. Only if you promise not to try and stab me with a used shot or something, and you can't tell the other nurses." she said, smiling at her. Aimee nodded her head, and with that the woman was undoing the tight straps around her wrists. "Thank you." Aimee mumbled, stretching out her arms. "So Aimee, welcome to Tennova. I'm your assigned nurse for now, so I'll be in charge of your wellbeing. I take care of most the healthy-enough people, and I haven't been assigned a Jaime, so I'm going to be honest with you, that means he's sick." she told her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Jaime was sick.." Aimee replied, shifting so that Kendall's hand fell away from her. She knew Jaime had been sick, but she also knew he wasn't bitten. She just wanted to be with her brother.

Edward

Edward pressed his head against the tiled wall in the shower room, thinking over the events of the past year. He had been safe for a total of 5 months, today was the year anniversary, but he doubted anyone would be celebrating. He knew he didn't want to. He shut off the water and wrapped a towel around himself, checking the bathroom to ensure that no one else had entered. The coast was clear, so he stepped out the shower and shut the door behind him. The mirrors were covered in fog, so Edward slid his hand across it and examined his reflection. His beard hair had grown out, and his hair was longer than it had ever been before. Today on his run, he would have to find himself a pair of scissors.

He pulled on his clothes and walked out the bathroom, seeing that no one else was up. He headed to the cafeteria where the workers hadn't even arrived yet, and sat down, laying his head on the wooden table. With that, he was out.

Austen

Austen shifted her weight from the balls of her feet to her heels, and back again. She'd been up since sunrise, and currently she was squatting in the pile of leaves that was her bed not hours ago. Her backpack was open in front of her. Maybe a day left, she thinks as she lifts the smoked fish to her nose. Unwrapping it from its makeshift bandanna wrappings, she ate the remainder of the meat. No sense in letting it go bad. Besides, better to eat what you can, when you can, that's what Pops always said. The girl screws up her face at the thought of her father. "Crazy bastard," she muttered.

After tying the now empty handkerchief around her wrist, Austen zips up her bag and tosses it over her shoulder, water bottle in hand. She takes a swig, looks around, and picks a direction. She didn't know any other way to find her brother. After all, she didn't even know where he was before all this happened. Austen set off, determined as ever, unknowingly headed in the direction of Brandson Elementary.

Tyler

The guard yawned. Mornings were never his thing. He preferred the midnight shift, but for whatever reason, they switched him to the sunrise shift.Tyler had been patrolling the bottom three floors since four in the morning, and his shift lasted until noon. He really had to see someone about getting his shift switched back.

Glancing at a calendar on the wall, Tyler noticed that it had been a year since the outbreak. A full year of this literal hell, and yet here he was, strolling through a hospital like nothing was wrong. He ran a hand through his greasy hair and sighed. Sometimes he didn't see the point in this. Even if there was a chance the dead could be wiped out, the remaining population was so small he couldn't imagine civilization ever properly being rebuilt. This supposed safe haven community of a hospital even still had rooms full of the dead locked away. It was ridiculous, really.

Hearing crying, he paused near one of the patient rooms. A young girl, crying, and a nurse. Most likely the girl was just afraid of needles. Tyler nodded at the nurse and continued his patrol, yawning once more.

Corin

Corin stared at the white washed wall of her room in Tennova, the same wall she'd stared at every morning for almost four months. She was making ungrantable wishes...to a wall. All Corin wished was that her father was still alive, which was impossible, he was one of those things, the walkers. These people had taken her before she had the chance to kill him and prevent him from turning into one of them. She missed him, a lot.

She'd woken up rather early, unable to sleep very well since she'd gotten to this place. The only thing she seemed to dream about was her father, her father asking her why she didn't kill him, her father moaning and dragging his ugly green skinned self toward her, her father a dead walker of the dirty ground. That's what kept her awake. That's what haunted her dreams.

The sound of a guards feet tramping down the hallway shook her out of her thoughts, she stood up straight and ridged from her bed and floated over to where her clothes were neatly folded and ready to be worn. A t-shirt, jeans and her tattered jacket covered her form as she closed her door behind her, her hands fumbling with the door knob. She wanted to run. Corin wanted to be outside running, doing something. Because it was kind of hard to run the way she wanted to in cramped, post apocalyptic hospital hallways. The cafeteria wasn't far from her room and she made it there in a few minutes, the only living human in sight a man whispering to himself in the corner of the room. Corin rolled her eyes a gravitated away from him, plopping herself down at one of the tables and staring at the rough calluses of her hands until it was time to eat.

MARK
He Stood infront of Brandson Elementary School waiting to be let in when he was told he could come in. Once he got inside they checked him for the virus and then sent him on his way to the office. Once he got there he was asked questions like medical information, clothing size, and name. They handed him some clothes and told him to go to classroom E3. As hes walking down the halls he feels something he hasent felt in a long time, safe. He arrived at the classroom and opened the door. He saw a bed and sat his stuff on it and then layed down on it. He hasent relaxed like this in a while ever since the virus happened there hasent been much time for relaxation. He felt a sharp pain in his left arm "agh!" Mark exclaimed. Mark pulled up his shirt sleeve and looked at the bandages. Mark was attacked a few days before and got a stab wound in his left arm. It still hasent healed and has been agrivating Mark for days. It will heal in time he thinks. All that was on Mark's mind right then was sleep. This is a new start, i will make this work. He thought as he drifted of to sleep in the classroom.
Note:
This isnt the best start i think i rushed it a bit but once we get the ball rolling it will get better.
:D

Kendall

Kendall bit the inside of her cheek as she drew a bit of blood from her newest patient, Aimee. This would be the last thing on her agenda before she had to take Aimee for a tour of the facility. Once the small vile was full, Kendall pulled the needle out and looked up at the girl, whom of which was looking at a poster on the wall and biting her lip. "That's it for today." Kendall said, rollng down the sleeve to Aimee's hospital gown. The girl looked back towards her quietly and nodded before looking down at her lap. Kendall stood up and slid off the blue latex gloves she had put on upon entrance and threw them in the trash before walking back over to the girl, looking down at her with a smile. "Since we're done with all the initial check-ups, you're going to be released after I give you a tour of the facility. We're going to run your blood to check for anything alarming and call you back in a week or so, if all goes well, you'll be recieving a few vaccinations to ensure yours, and everyone else's safety here at Tennova." she said, going over the usual things that she always had to tell newer patients.

The girl hesitated for a moment before speaking, "What about Jaime, when will he be released?". Of course. The girl had been asking about her twin for the whole hour they'd been together. "Well, Jaime isn't my patient, so I don't know his release date. However, when he does get released, you two will get to have a room all to yourselves. You'll even have your very own guard to watch over you." she responded, clasping her hands together. Aimee's face immediately lit up, and Kendall could tell that her response satisfied her. "Now, come on. I have a tour to take you on."

Aimee

The hallways in the hospital were dark, but that didn't stop Aimee from trying to peek into every room that she passed. Still, there was no Jaime. A part of her wished that she had a nurse that could actually tell her about her brother's whereabouts, but the other part of her was glad that she had Kendall, who had been nothing but nice to her since she met her. "Do you have any food?" Aimee asked quietly, quickly averting her eyes down at her bare feet. She could feel Kendall's glare, but much to her suprise, she said "Sure.", and suddenly she was leading her down a fleet of stairs. Soon, they reached a small cafeteria where only two other people sat. Aimee was nearly put into shock by the smell of cooked food. Kendall led her though a buffet table, where she aqquired two biscuits, orange juice, and what she assumed to be a pancake. Her stomach grumbled at the smell as she took a seat beside Kendall, who had sat down next to another woman. She didn't care. She ate as if she hadn't eaten in years.

Even within the safety of the hospital, Aimee still remained on guard. Her back straigtening every time anyone made any type of loud noise. She was alert, and she couldn't help it. Her and Jaime's survival had depended on running and staying alert, so she was already beginning to struggle with some from of PTSD.

Corin

Corin looked up from her hands when a woman dressed in scrubs and a small girl who looked rather frightened...and hungry. The little thing devoured the food in front of her like she hadn't seen a pancake in years. Corin felt bad for her and found herself wondering how long the poor thing had been on her own, had there been an adult with her? She knew the woman in scrubs couldn't have because she'd seen her around before, she was a nurse, did check ups on everybody. This kid looked new.

"She new?" Corin asked, after realizing she'd been staring. She couldn't help her general curiosity and the nurse woman had sat down next to her.

Tran Sisters

The current concern for the three Tran Sisters were bringing children into the current world. All three of them were expecting. However, one small problem; the Father's of the babies were separated from them, though in the case of Vivian, she ended up having to kill him because he had been bitten and was infected, leaving her no choice but to kill him. Vivian was still reeling from the loss. Concerning all three women, they have, so far, been carrying their pregnancies to term; Vivian was expecting a boy, whom she had nicknamed 'Little Prince; Victoria was expecting a girl; lastly, Veronica, who was the eldest and the furthest along in her pregnancy, wanted her baby's gender to be a surprise, though signs have been showing that she is expecting a girl like her little sister. The three sisters have taken up refuge at Tennova Regional Hospital, since it was still the more ideal place to have their babies. However, their brothers' whereabouts were currently unknown, but they still haven't given up hope in terms of family. Since they were all expecting, the Tran Sisters have also taken up residence in the Maternity Wing, where accommodations have been made for them to be comfortable.

~How far along~

Veronica: 37 Weeks (Almost due)

Vivian: 35 Weeks (Getting there...)

Victoria: 33 Weeks (Long way to go...)

Vivian

It had been several months since Vivian had to kill her husband. Since then, she had been having to endure the pregnancy alone. All she had for support were her two sisters, both of whom were also pregnant. Lately, Vivian had been very quiet, spending most of her time resting and reading a pregnancy guide she had picked up from a book store when they were still traveling. Sadly, it was unsafe for them to travel, otherwise, they'd be looking for their Brothers. After cleaning herself off, which was a little tough since there weren't really any working showers, Vivian put on a new dress. Afterwards, she waddled back to their room, where she got onto her bed and took out her pregnancy guide and started reading it some more.

Victoria

Out of the three, Victoria still had a long way to go. She had seven weeks to go, versus Veronica, who had only three more weeks, but could possibly go into labor at any minute. Then there was Vivian, who was in the Middle. For most of the week, like Vivian, Victoria had been resting, but still tried to be more social compared to her other sisters; Vivian was just shy and Veronica...Well, its complicated. At least to Victoria. Tying the ribbon on her robe, Victoria put on her slippers and started waddling towards the Cafeteria to get her first meal of the day. Assuming that Vivian had already gotten her first meal, Victoria went on to eat by herself, choosing to sit away from the other residents in the room.

Veronica

For most of the morning, Veronica had been dealing with Braxton Hicks contractions, since delivery was pretty much on the horizon. She was also worried about delivering the baby early and was hoping to carry the baby to term. She was spending most of her time resting. Since getting to the hospital, Veronica has yet to touch her firearm, which just sitting in the corner of the room, unloaded. Of course, she went outside every so often to get some fresh air. Thankfully the Zombie Virus that had ravaged the world was not airborne...Otherwise everyone would be zombies. Currently, her backache has been persisting, so she was a little worried that labor might be immanent. Either way, today she was supposed to get her weekly check up. Sighing, she just put on her slippers, straightened out her dress and started waddling to Dr. Kendall's Office. However, when she arrived, the Doctor herself was absent, so she sat down in a chair that was outside the office, waiting patiently for her arrival. As she sat down, she gently caressed her belly because it started aching. Taking a deep breath, she just relaxed into the chair.

Mark
Mark woke up abruptly after nightmare and looked around the room. I'm okay... i'm okay nothing can get me in here Mark thought. Mark got up out of his bed walked over to the door and opened it silently. He looked at the dark walls and thought. As soon as Mark left the room his stomach rumbled. I hope i didn't miss lunch time He thought. Mark walked down the dark halls to the cafeteria and then waited at the door. I hope i don't get in trouble for just coming in here if i missed the time to eat Mark thought as he opened the door. Mark didn't see anybody except for one guy just sleeping. Am i early? what time is it?  He thought as he looked down to his watch which only had one battery left. I guess i am. He thought. Mark then walked over and sat next to the man waiting for breakfast. While he is waiting he brung out his note book and pencil and started writing. Although the world has ended it is still fun for him to write stories of worlds where everybody isn't the walking dead.

Jamie sat in qurantine, he couldn't understood why he was taken away, he remembers him and Aimee getting to the hospital and then it was a blur. Before he knew it he was sitting inside this small room, it only has a bed, sink, and toilet. Luckily it had some toilet paper, and considering his current condition he really needs it. Sighing with tears in his eyes he continued to face the wall, sitting while hugging his knees on his bed. All the doctors believe he has the virus, but he knows he doesn't have it, he wasn't bitten, but that isn't what was making him worry. He missed Aimee, he hates the fact that he's gone this long without her and it's driving him up the wall. He didn't know what was going on, he doesn't know where his sister is, what if she needed him? He sniffed and wiped away his tears with his sleeves, he knew he was sick, but it wasn't what the doctors thought it was. It was the same symptoms that his father had one time after eating some clams at a cheap restaurant: Vomiting, dysentery, cramps and aches, sometimes even the chills. He quietly sobbed into his knees, his stomach hurt and he hated it, and just all the stress from worrying about Aimee is only making it worse, he hasn't even eaten yet, the mere thought of food makes him want to vomit again.

-Brandson Elementary- Gym

Interactions- None

Talia stared at the gym wall as she spun to a stop. She was always up early to relieve some stress through her dancing. She stopped and focused again on her stretching, waking up her muscles. She hadn't paid any mind to anyone who had been in the gym and was so caught up she did not bother to check. Sighing, She flipped backwards, her brother's coat slipping off her shoulders. Spinning gracefully, she retrieved it and tied it around her waist. Her farm knife rested and her thigh, allowing easy access should she be threatened. She kept dancing in a simple, patterned routine until she felt the stress flow away, in which she ended by another spin. She turned and smiled to her self before sitting down and catching her breath. "Everything will be okay little flower.' She smiled sadly at the thought before slowly getting up and smiling a bit brighter and heading towards the door to leave. Talia unhooked the jacket around her waist and slipped her arms into it. It was still a little big, but she would not dare part from it. @AnyoneWhoWant's to interact?

Kendall

Kendall watched as Aimee began to scarf down the food that she had recieved from the cafeteria. "You'll eat three times a day from now on. Breakfest, Lunch and Dinner, but if you get a little hungry between serving times you can grab a small snack." she said, assuring her. It was weird to think that at some point Kendall had been like Aimee, new and hungry. If you looked at her now you would hardly even know that she had ever been starved, but she still weighed 20 pounds less than she did before the break out, She looked up at Corin and nodded her head. "They brought her and her brother in after hours last night." she responded, taking a small sip of water. Corin probably didn't remember her, but she had been her nurse at one point too. She'd been almost everyone's nurse.

Kendall looked down at her watch and realized that she needed to get back to her shift. "Corin, once she finishes would you mind showing her to her room? She'll be in room 47A." she asked, not waiting for an answer before sliding the key across the table and getting up, giving Aimee a light tap on the head before walking to her office. Upon reaching the hallway that her office was in, she noticed Veronica waiting patiently in one of the chairs. She sped up a bit and dug in the pocket of her scrubs for the key, and began unlocking the door. "Hello Veronica, sorry I'm late. How're you feeling today?" she asked with a smile, holding the door open for the woman to walk through. Kendall couldn't help but find it funny how there were 3 pregnant women houing in the facility, not one, not two, but three. To each their own.

Aimee

Aimee watched with worry as Kendall ran off away from the table, leaving her with a woman whom she did not know. She looked down at her plate, using her plastic fork to push crumbs around on the plate, attemptting to avoid eye contact. This would be so much easier if Jamie was here. She let out a sigh and eyed the woman that Kendall had called Corin. "I have a twin brother. His name is Jamie." she said, attempting to start conversation, but also hoping that maybe Corin knew something about him. "Kendall says I may get to share a room with him once he's released from the ICU. She doesn't know when that'll be, though."

Edward

Ed woke up to the sound of a chair sqeaking next to him. He looked up and stretched, seeing that the cafeteria staff was now beginning to arrive. He studied the man that had taken a seat beside him tousled his hair a little bit. "You new here?" he asked, taking in the stranger's appearance. Ed never missed a face, but this was one he had never seen before.

Austen

Austen had been walking for what seemed like a long time before coming upon the school. She stood in front of the gate for a long time before deciding to go in. Her brother might be in there, and there was no way to know unless she went in. And so, she got processed as part of the community. A kind woman from the office showed her to a classroom that she would use as her sleeping quarters, and directed her to the cafeteria; it was meal time. Austen's stomach rumbled at the thought of an actual meal. Sure, she'd eaten that morning, but wild plants with the occasional fish or game animal couldn't compare to an actual, cooked meal.

There was no one in the cafeteria but some staff members and two men talking to each other. Suddenly, Austen was faced with the realization that, at least until she found whether her brother was here or not, she would actually have to interact with people. The most she'd gotten out on her own was killing thieves and running from weirdos and sex-starved perverts. There were actual people here. And she wasn't quite sure how she felt.

The hospital was beginning to wake up, and the quiet bustle of everyday life was beginning. Tennova was a place of order, and everyone had a routine. The most exciting thing to happen in the last couple of months was the admission of three pregnant sisters, all in the third trimester. Tyler shook his head to keep himself awake. He'd moved on from the living quarters to the cafeteria, where people were beginning to gather. Not to eat, he wouldn't be allowed to do that on duty, but simply to stand in the corner and make sure nothing got out of hand. Stress levels were high nowadays, and sometimes people liked to take it out on each other. Not that he's seen anything like that happen at Tennova.

The same little girl he'd seen crying earlier was stuffing her face with food. It must be her first day. The new ones always ate like that, like they didn't know when their next meal would be. Up until then, they didn't, after all. It hurt a little to think about how young she was, and to be out there all alone. It was surprising she made it a year on her own out there. The nurse from before got up and left in a rush, leaving the little girl alone with another woman.

Raymond.

Tennova Regional Hospital.

Raymond's hands trembled as he looked among the shaken victims of this passing year. Many wild eyed, confused, shell shocked... With a deep swallow of chalky spit from the last of his Ativan stash, the psychiatrist stood at the door way in his worn out grey-green sweater and white jacket and let his similarly colored eyes peer through his glasses. So many of these casualties were so young. Too young for the tragedies experienced. He was glad they all had the stomach to eat after what they'd seen though.

In the morning,  his chart would be top to bottom, three pages long and mostly new patients. Everyone was suffering. PTSD was on the rise and in his own opinion, the hardest illness he'd ever treated. It was devastating. Among these cynic thoughts, the giant of a man stumbled his way across the room to the buffet table and convinced himself to eat something. He lean of and sighed, picking out some coffee and a bland biscuit of some kind then turned around to scan the room for a place to sit. His ID badge hung on the white doctor's coat above an ink stain from the exploded pen he'd yet to notice. He was too dazed to pay attention to such small things like the blue ink slowly expanding a stain through his white pocket.

Corin

Kendall. That was her name. Corin thought she'd seen her, her memory wasn't the best but hearing the name come out of the small girls mouth caused her to remember the nurse. Any answer Corin had for Kendall's question died in her throat as the woman got up and sped off, obviously in a rush to get somewhere. Looking down at the little girl she offered a small smile,"A brother, huh? I used to have a big brother." Corin nodded when the young girl mentioned she and her twin sharing a room. "I'm sure he'll get out soon, and you'll get to be with each other all the time." Corin glanced at the plate that had once held a pancake,"Are you done? Kendall told me to take you to your room." Just as she said that, a guard entered the room and stood stoically in a corner, she offered him a small smile. She doubted the poor guy got those very often, not many people appreciated guards as much as they should.

Veronica

After a couple of minutes, the nurse had finally arrived and apologized to her for being late. As she unlocked the door and held it open, she had asked Veronica about how she was feeling. At first, the young mother to be just frowned due to her stomachache, but then replied upon standing up. "Its okay. There are a lot of patients and you guys are understaffed right now." She said, showing understanding since there were a lot of people at the Hospital and Kendall was pretty much the only nurse with medical experience.

Taking a deep breath, she then waddled into the office and sat down on the exam table. After all, she was just here for her check up and since she was passed the thirty-six week mark, Veronica had to see Kendall on a weekly basis. Vivian would be hitting that soon too. Luckily, not all the Tran Sisters were in the same milestone for pregnancy, otherwise it'd be more work for Kendall. "Three more weeks until the big day." she said while getting herself situated on the exam table, particularly relaxing herself.

Jamie laid in bed, his stomach was no longer hurting, looks like whatever it was that was wrong had passed. He sighed with content, he was happy enough mainly because he wasn't in pain anymore. He knew that when the doctors saw how healthy he was they would be forced to let him go back. And sure enough there was a sounded of keys unlocking a door and mysterious figures in white walked in, "alright kiddo looks like you only had food poisoning. Watch what you eat from now on will ya? Well take you back to the room your sister is in." Jamie bolted up at the mention of Aimee, "where is she? Where's my sister!" He got up from the bed standing, the nurse only gestures for him to follow which he did.

After an agonizing five minutes of walking the halls the doctor lead him to a single room with two beds. He recognized Aimee's supplies next to one of the beds and his own in the corner. "But where is Aimee?" The doctor looked down at him, "probably eating, you should just wait for her to come back alroght? Get some bed rest, we'll be bringing by some extra water for you, food poisoning is an easy way to get dehydrated." And with the the doctor turned and walked off, leaving Jamie alone in the room. He turned around and closed the door behind him and walked over to Aimee's bed, he laid down on it, "come on Aimee....please hurry back." Closing his eyes he slowly drifted off to sleep.
