Fandom Magnolia's Massacre - A Fairy Tail RP

The Harvest festival in an annual celebration hosted in Magnolia by the Fairy Tail guild. The festival provides an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down, have some fun and relax. This year, for the festival, Fairy Tail has invited members from many other Wizard Guilds from all across Fiore to come to Magnolia and partake in the celebrations. However, there's something dark lurking in the shadows, and the festival serves as a perfect distraction.

Hi all, welcome to the thread!... uh, that was really cheesy...
Anyway, as you can probably tell, this is a Fairy Tail based RP. It will take place in a Fairy Tail AU, that way we won't be strictly bound to any occurrences, rules or events of the Canon plot. This also allows you to take up the role of a canon character or an OC depending on what you prefer. The RP will start with everyone coming together, mingling a little and the beginning of the Harvest Festival, but then things will take a bit of a darker turn as things progress. You are welcome to be a character from any guild or even a guild you invented. Likewise, you are welcome to be a member of the 'Darkness' that's 'Lurking in the shadows'. The full details of what this darkness is are still being ironed out, but for the purposes of the interest check, you can consider them to be a Dark Guild of sorts.

TurboAnalog Will be helping me with the RP, he has a sort of speciality when it comes to darker characters so he's going to be the leader of this 'Darkness' group, he will focus primarily on that whereas I will focus primarily on the Guild Wizards and the Harvest Festival.

So yeah, please feel free to ask any questions and hopefully, we'll get enough people to get this going!

I know how you feel, but I'm not sure frost is likely to join us. She's not a huge Fairy Tail fan, I know she joined that other FT RP but she doesn't have that much time for RPN anymore anyway, she's got uni and stuff to focus on.

1. Were you intending this to be a large-scale rp or just a small group?

2. If this rp does manage to gain traction, I was really hoping to make a Celestial Mage, but I was wondering. Will Celestial Spirits be playable characters, or will they have to be NPCs that I play myself?

3. On that note, are we allowed to form teams/partnerships with other RPers? Like, for example, a human character and an Exceed character?

Hello! Yes, Dragon Slayers will be allowed, depending on how many people join and how many of those wish to be dragon slayers, there may end up being a limit on how many dragon slayers there are as it would be a little awkward if everyone was a dragon slayer. But at this rate, I don't see that being too much of a problem at this rate. So as long as no one makes a character who is 'immortal' on the grounds that 'they're a dragon slayer' or something like that, then Dragonslayers are totally allowed! Lacryma implant or not, go for it!

1. It can work as either, I always like to think 'the more the merrier' but it can work with only a couple of people just as well. And it's also flexible as it goes on, so say it were to start right now with only Turbo, explosiveKitten, One_For_All and myself, then that would probably work out fine for the whole RP if needed, but say over time we get 10 more members for example, then it would be quite easy to slip them in to what's happening halfway through.
(Side note, I know that you [One_For_All] asked the question and so I could have listed the names as 'Turbo, explosiveKitten, you and myself' but I added your name in so it would make sense for other people as well... I hope that explanation made sense, I'm not very good at explaining myself...)

2. Same as Dragon Slayers, Celestial Mages will be allowed as well, the only potential problem with celestial mages is the distribution of Keys. Silver keys aren't too much of a problem as they're quite common and some of them, such as Nikora and Caelum, have been shown to have multiple incarnations so that more than one wizard may own a key of that constellation. But, gold keys are a little bit more of a problem as there are only one of each of the gold keys and so only one wizard may have each gold key. So as long as Celestial wizards had only a few gold keys each then I don't see there being any problem with Celestial mages at all.

3. Of course, that wouldn't be any problem at all! Partnerships can happen no problem. If you want to partner up with another RPer to make a wizard + Exceed dynamic or maybe create wizards from the same team within a specific guild or even if you want to have characters who are romantically involved or blood relatives of some sort, then that's all totally fine! By the same token, you wanted your character to have an Exceed, for example, but you can't find someone else who's willing to play the Exceed, then it's totally fine for you to have multiple characters and therefore control both the wizard and the Exceed yourself. On a related side note, there won't be a limit on how many characters you're allowed to create as long as you're sure you can keep up with all of the characters that you do create.

I've started putting together some of the threads for the RP, should be able to get it all up soon (Hopefully tomorrow but I can't make any promises as I'm in college most of the day). I'm going to keep working on them a little tonight but it's 1:31 am here so the chances of me managing to get everything up and running tonight are slim. Yay! Welcome aboard! There isn't a CS, OOC or anything like that up just yet but I'm working on them in the pockets of break I have at college and the hope is to be able to get at least some, if not all, of it up and running by the end of the day, if not then definitely have it all up tomorrow.

Questions are cool! I shall answer them to the best of my ability! If something I say doesn't make sense or anything then feel free to pick me up on it or ask me to elaborate, I sometimes don't make much sense when explaining things.
1. I can't say off the bat exactly how dark it will be, however, the plan is to have it keep as much of the Fairy Tail feel as possible. The aim is to have a similar dynamic to one of the darker Fairy Tail arcs such as Tartaros or something along those lines. So dark enough that things may get a little intense but hopefully not too dark. As a side note, I'm not sure how likely it is to happen, but if the RP stays strong for a long time then the dream would be for there to be other 'arcs' after the initial one, but whether or not that will happen is a question for another time.
2. Yes it's an AU but I'm quite flexible with my ideas of an AU, so canon characters are allowed as well as OC's but as it's an AU they don't have to follow the canon timeline or the canon interpretation of that character, so, for example, if you wanted to play Natsu that's fine, if you wanted to play Natsu but you wanted him to have Ice magic, also fine, if you wanted to play Natsu and someone else wanted to play Macao as a teenager then that would also be fine!
3. Any races that are canon in the Fairy Tail universe are allowed. If you want to be a race that isn't canonically a part of the Fairy Tail universe then that should also be ok, as long as the race fits in the Fairy Tail universe then that should be fine too, but if you're unsure about anything like that, then always feel free to run anything past me.
4. Yes, canon magics are permitted and altered variations of canon magics are permitted as well, again, as long as they fit. Again, you can run anything you're unsure of past me!
5. You are allowed as many characters as you like as long as you're confident in your ability to keep up with all of the characters you've created.

I was planning on playing the role of Fairy Tail's guild master myself so that I can use them to help get things going. I have put a poll at the start of this post, could you please all answer it so I can decide the best course of action regarding Fairy Tail's guild Master.
