In the late 1600's after The Salem Witch trials, Magilia Academy was one of the first witch academies that was formed by a witch named Helen Barbriar who's family was one of the first inhabitants of Salem. After marrying a man who went by the name of John Alporea, Helen gave birth to the first male witch and first alporean.
Over the next hundred years the Alporean race developed, fueled by one common goal... The destruction of the witches. Alporeans are pale, red haired, grey eyes humans who are depcndents of witches but lack magic power. The first Alporean was Vira Barbriar daughter of Helen Barbriar. Originally a blue eyed brown haired girl, the girl began to change after her 12th birthday. She noticed her brother was praised by their family and everyone at Magilia, and violently lashed out one day killing her mother. Deciding that living there was no longer an option, Vira fled and her hatred for witches grew.
After marrying a normal human Vira created her own school, a school for generations of her family to go to: Laporea Academy. Vira would singlehandedly form the biggest threat to witch kind... The Alporean race.
In 1832 Vira had nearly a small army of Alporeans and decided she would head to Magilia and take what was hers. The Alporeans advanced on the witches at night, and many were killed. Vira and her brother Marous (now the headmaster at Magilia) had a fierce battle, but neither of them were able to best the other, so they made a truce, and every summer solstice the two schools would send their best students out, and battle to the death. If the Alporeans won this battle they would be allotted an entire year of killing witches, but so long as the witches won, they were not allowed to bring harm to a witch. After the truce was made, the two sides went their separate ways knowing they held the key to the fate of future generations of witches and alporeans.
After Marous and Vira's deaths in 1932, there was a boom in male witches, but something was off. A lot of people noticed that male's tended to have a harder time with magic and were generally weaker than witches who were primarily female. Therefore, the title warlock was created which is used to describe a male witch who is weaker than female witches. Very few warlocks like Marous have come along, and those that have been were given the title of witch. Since the battle in 1832 an anti Alporean magic field had been created allowing only witches, and warlocks into the school.
After the war, the Alporeans found that somehow after killing several witches(10 to be exact) they then gained their powers, but in 1932 they created negatites, black shadowy figures with humanoid shape, that could destroy souls with one touch or corrupt a soul and make it one of them. This was used to kill witches since they couldn't to keep the population from getting too large. For protection against these souls, the witches enlisted the help of a race of spirits called Pyrinia who were unaffected by negatites. Each witch received a Pyrinia guardian to protect them from negatites and no witch was allowed to go outside of school grounds. Somehow through all of this the witches still won the death games.
Now in the year 2016 we've come to the start of another school year and the pressures on as a mysterious new school has appeared in Massachusetts, will the prove friend or foe to the witches, or could they be a common enemy?
So... We having fun yet? This is going to be an Academy role play done right. It already has a plot and story line ready; all it needs are characters. I really like the idea of this role play and i hope others like it too. Let me know if you're interested.
