Fantasy Magic kiddos do magic things in a mysterious manner

In this world everyone is born with magic

Some have smaller, more hidden, magical abilities like levitating two feet in the air, while others' magic could destroy countries.

Stronger powers are typically in the royal bloodline, passed down through generations.

In extremely rare cases some people are even born with two magical abilities.

When you turn 13 you take a test and those few people with strong powers will be forced into a royal life.

Your character, and everyone else's, have been brought into royalty due to a strong handle on their powers.

The Plot
Our characters, having made their way through several castles for 'training', find themselves stranded in an abandoned castle. This was where they should have been given the Assignments for the rest of their lives. (What families they would be placed in, who they would marry, ect.) Now, however, they have to figure out how to find their unique Assignments while living in a castle where the only things besides their friends are bugs and ghosts.

The Castle
The castle is more of an old manor, staffed by nameless, faceless ghost servants equipped to bring the children anything that they might need. They all have separate rooms, each with a door that depicts a gruesome scene of them dying. This door looks like it should lead to a closet, and is firmly locked. Each door is a clue to where they'll find the key- and I'll PM you what your character's door looks like when they are accepted. It is your choice whether or not you tell others what it shows.

The unofficial leader of the group is my ( Kitteh Kitteh ) character, Gale. She's a 17 year old girl who can shapeshift- with a fondness for equine and feline shapes. Best friends with Max, and though she'd never admit it, loves his company. They've been close since their Test at 13.

The next is Leon, someone who uses all pronouns, has some sort of fire magic. No royal background, and is mostly a quiet person who loves to play the piano. 18 years old. (OPEN)

Then there's Max, a spoiled princeling. A prince before being brought to join them, and snobbish about it. Seeks out Gale and sticks by her, often quite possessive. Uses stone/earth magic and is 17. (OPEN)

Name: Evalynn Rakhila Madore
Age: 18 Years Old
Background:
-Evalynn was born out of wedlock between her Russian father and her Canadian mother, both of whom had been living together as roommates in Montréal for years before her conception. Though the city was where she was born, she moved out into the country side with her parents shortly after her birth due to concerns over growing inter-city turmoil. While her mother was considered part of the common people, her father was a member of a royal family who was ignored and avoided by fellow family members; having moved away in pursuit of a better life elsewhere using what little funds he was entitled to. Despite their struggles living mediocre lives at best, she found her life with her parents enjoyable. She grew particularly interested in hunting with her mother and studying under her father about being a diplomatic envoy.
-When she was a month away from turning 10 years old, she came across a wounded wolf pup crying out in pain; its body pinned down by a rock too heavy for the small animal to move. Having just finished hunting with her mom, she in turn cried out for help as she ran over to the rock. Despite her best attempts, the rock barely budged to her efforts. As her mom came to see what the commotion was about the howls of a pack echoed in the distance, the pup seeming to grow more anxious. Evalynn pleaded to her mom to help the pup, tearing up in desperation as the howls seem to grow closer. Without hesitation her mom ran down to help move the rock as well. Inch by inch their combined efforts moved the rock off of the pup, and as it crawled out from underneath they both let go of the rock; her mom picking her up and carrying her away from the pup into the brush. From there they watched, the pack of wolves running up to the freed pup. After a bit of looking around and sniffing the pack seemed to grow agitated, running away and leaving the injured pup behind. Evalynn came out of the brush shortly after as the pup tried chasing after the pack, only to slide back down the slope as it flinched from the injury. Now her faithful companion, the wolf pup was taken into the care of her family as one of their own; helping out during hunts and keeping guard for the family during the night.
-As Evalynn turned 13 years old, a knock at her bedroom door awoke her; with her parents opening the door with a strange man she had never met before behind them. Upon getting dressed and getting settled in the living room with her companion at her side, her parents explained of what was to come in the future. From the tests that would be held to being assigned a family and spouse, all of it seemed to ruin the idyllic life she had and wanted to keep. Despite her refusal and attempts to avoid her fate, her parents wept as she was whisked away by the powers that be; with her companion following suit. Ever since then she's fantasized about returning home to her parents, continuing her interests of hunting and studies of diplomats whenever she had the free time between tests and feeding/cuddling her companion.

Personality:
-Evalynn is known for being very patient and understanding to everyone she meets, and is inherently kind to a fault. Despite her naivety as of the true motives of the world, her optimistic outlook helps her keep her nose on the grindstone and withstand stress and pressure many find unbearable. She's not known to talk about her feelings, choosing to express herself through other means she keeps hidden from others.

Powers:
-Evalynn can understand any language across the globe with terrifying clarity, though she can only interpret a max of three languages at once. Although she can switch between languages with only a thought, prolonged time spent interpreting causes severe migraines to set in over time.
-In addition to understanding all human languages, Evalynn can also understand what animals can say. The clarity of these voices weakens the smaller the animal is, with the smallest animals she can coherently interpret being the size of rats. Bigger animals she can understand with almost perfect clarity. Animals can also understand her, though how well they interpret her also depends on their size.
-She can call upon any nearby animals for assistance, whether it be a muscular bear for protection or a bird to listen in on important conversations. Although the animals are willing to help out, they'll turn on her if she fails to reward them for their efforts.

I kinda had some ideas for the role Evalynn would play in the group, sort of like that one realist acquaintance people always go to for good advise.

Also, I'm glad I decided to use her, as I've been wanting to flesh out her character for awhile
