Magi - Birth of legends

Noah looks at Dustin and couldn't help but smile. "I'm Noah." he states before reaching out and shaking his hand. Dustin seemed very charismatic and uplifting which was helpful for Noah. Engaging in the conversation a little bit more and speaking louder Noah asks "What kind of magic are to choose?"

Dustin smiled and shook his hand "Noah huh nice to meet yah!" Dustin spoke giving a friendly grin before listening to Noah speak of what magic he had, Dustin scratched his head for a sec and then snapped his fingers coming up with an answer. "Well it's sorta hard to explain so it'd be better if I just show you than explain!" Dustin said before he looked at a few rocks and extended his hand causing the rocks to lift in mid air and hover in his hand, "Pretty cool huh?" Dustin said giving a triumphant smile before they fell back on the ground. "My folks call it Telekinesis" Dustin said dusting his hands.

Noah was quite impressed by Dustin's ability. "That is pretty cool." Noah said in awe. He began to think about the magic he wants to do. Healing. It seemed very interesting and helpful. While thinking another thought popped into Noah's head. "When do you think school will actually start?" Noah asks.

Dustin rubbed the back of his head thinking, he should of asked his playmate Karina on what time the school would start up. Seeing that he did not particularly have a clue he shrugged "That's actually a really good question maybe we should go and ask around..maybe a teacher or...Hey my dad may know he is a teacher here...oh wait that won't work he's probably inside somewhere.." Dustin sighed and the eyed the other children "Maybe they might know huh?" Dustin asked looking back at Noah and smiling.

Noah became slightly nervous at the fact of meeting the kids. What if they are not as nice as Dustin or mean? Nevertheless Noah says "Ok. Perhaps they know, lets go ask." Noah put his book away in his backpack and nervously looks at the other children. Some look fancy and rich. Others look ordinary. Noah got butterflies in his stomach.

(o_o hey quick question where is everyone still outside in front of the school I'm just trying to decide on who Dustin should bother)

(Okay then thanks ^^)
Dustin looked over the group of kids and then hummed playfully he made a game outta picking a person to talk with "eenie meenie miney mo! come on Noah!" Dustin said picking his suitcase up and walking over to the girl sitting on the bench, it seemed that she must had been asleep or something. "Hey there you awake sleepy head?!" Dustin said giving a small chuckle nudging her on the shoulder.

Noah picks up his suit case and tediously follows Dustin and stands behind him as he wakes up a half-asleep girl. Still nervous, Noah wonders if the girl is nice or not. That is always the main thing on his mind meeting new people. Dustin nudged the girl on the shoulder and Noah debated if waking her up would be alright. Some people get cranky when you wake them up.

Gloria let out a tired sigh as she set the book down and let her eyes fumble closed, feeling very light-headed from lack of sleep. "I hate airplane rides...." Gloria muttered, furrowing her eyebrows together in irritation.

"Hey there you awake sleepy head?!" Some boy walked up to her and began nudging her shoulder, causing the young witch to snap her head up in alertness, just when she was about to fall asleep to.

An annoyed look plastered over Gloria's face, a scowl growing on her face as every second passed. "What do you want?" The young witch was definitely not in the mood for a pleasant conversation with someone. She just wanted to sleep already!

Dustin tilted his head for a second maybe he should had tried a more gentle approach...oh well he had her attention and that's what mattered. "Hello I'm Dustin and this is my friend Noah who I just met and we just had a little problem that we hoped you could help us both with!" Dustin said giving a cheery smile before continuing "You see we both kinda just got here and we're both clueless on when the academy is supposed to start and we figured you could help us out!" Dustin

said explaining before he paused and adjusted his shirt just now noticing how it looked.

The sleepy girl jerked up as Dustin nudged her shoulder. Her snappy response made Noah stiffen up. 'Oh no.' Noah thought. 'She isn't happy that we woke her up.' As Dustin gestured to Noah he straightened up and managed to pull a smile and a wave. His parents taught him to be kind and respectful so Noah wouldn't stand around with a morbid look on his face.

Raising an eyebrow at the two boys in front of her, Gloria furrowed her eyebrows together once again and massaged her temples. "Good for you." To be honest, Gloria didn't know when the school was going to start, she'd been here since four in the morning! She watched even the teachers arrive to the castle, sometimes being in a different time zone just sucked.

Taking another deep breath, Gloria tried to calm herself down, not wanting to give off a bad first impression. Clearing her throat, Gloria's voice still sounded a little hoarse from how sleepy she was, but, she still tried, didn't she? "I'm Gloria Reins, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Nodding politely at Noah and Dustin, Gloria was forcing herself to keep her eyes open and was actually considering fall asleep right then and there.

Dustin nodded back being just as polite "Well Gloria it's also great to meet you!" Dustin said giving a bright smile toward her before scratching his head again, "So Gloria do you think you could help us out me and Noah would very much appreciate it..but if you can't that's okay too!" Dustin said stretching his arm a little before looking back at her. Dustin then smiled coming up with another idea "Hey how bout we all go and find out together since were all clueless on the fact!" Dustin said smiling and turning to Noah and nodding.

(Sorry. I am posting late where I am so I am having some writer's block. Sorry for short post.)

Noah nodded as well to the idea. It would be better than just wondering aimlessly by himself.

:: An announcement came over the school ::

???: "Attention all new students, Please go to the Dining hall in the main building for the headmaster's address, all new students must attend"

::The students began moving, including Artemis, into the main hall, the main hall was massiv! far bigger than it should be considering the size of the outside building, but little details like the laws of physics didn't exactly apply to a school of magic users, the Headmaster was waiting on a stage at the far end of the room, he was a big man, like he was half-giant, his beard wasn't like what one would expect, it was there, but it was more like the guy from the "Most interesting man in the world" commercials, once all the students were settled he grabbed his want, putting it to his neck, as it magnified his speech ::

headmaster: "Welcome, welcome all! It is a wonderful thing to see so many new young witches, wizards, warlocks and others here this year, to this, one of the last remaining schools in the world of the magical arts... Before I continue, I am sad to inform you that this school experience won't all be wonderous magics, studies like Maths, Science and Literature is still mandatory"

:: Many of the students began moaning and groaning, while some laughed, pretty much all the staff laughed ::

Headmaster: "but in all seriousness, this will be the hardest 4 years of your young lives, you will all be pushed to your mental and physical limits every day, and then some, but I assure you, this will only make you stronger, smarter, and more powerful, but such methods are not simply to make you great magic users... This world does not cater to our kind, there are dangers, from the creatures of the forests ranging from Ogres, Savages and giant spiders, and from far off, there are forces in this world that are our enemies, and we are theirs, not by allegiance, but by birth, from the shadows, they plot our extinction and carry out their malicious schemes, but take heart, we are not alone in this, from this school, it's staff, your fellow students and others, Organizations that conspiracy theorists call the "Illuminati" or the "New World Order" are our allies, and will do their utmost to protect you all, until you are ready to fend for yourselves, for we are not alone, neither are our foes... I kow this may seem a lot to put on fresh students to our school, but you must fully grasp and comprehend why we must push you so hard, and understand that skipping classes and cheating are not only not tolerated, but may cost you your lives in the long run... hold your friends close, and make your fellow students and your teachers like family, take care of each other, and do your best in everything you do.. thank you"

:: the headmaster left, and an older woman came up to the podium ::

woman: "Please head to the dorm building, your rooms have already been assigned and your luggage has already been transported there, and welcome to Elissium Academy!"
::Artemis exited, his eyes wide ::

artemis: "Oh god, oh god, so what, i'm at war now?"

::a senior walked past ::

Senior: "Pretty much kid, welcome to the ranks of the winning side"

:: Artemis raised an eyebrow ::

Artemis: "Winning side?"

senior: "yeah kid, we've got an army, organization, skill and intelligence, they're just a bunch of tiny cults, tribes and monsters that kill each-other more often than not"

:: Artemis sighed deeply ::

Artemis: "Oh thank god"

Jamie was still quietly talking to Reginald when the girl approached her. She quickly got quiet though not wanting to look like a weirdo. She knew the people at the school would be adjusted to magic, but wasn't sure how they'd feel about her talking to animals.

"Oh hi!" Jamie smiled up at her "I am..."

It was then there conversation was interrupted by the loud announcement. Jamie looked around for the source of the voice, but it was no where to be seen. She turned to the girl and said "We'd better get going". She waited for her and then walked into the building.

When she arrived she sat down and patted the seat next to her for the girl. She didn't want to be rude and ignore her completely. She then listened attentively to the headmaster speak.

The other girl greeted Herika, and she smiled brightly when she found out that she was new as well. Then the announcement came and the other told her to get going, as the others also went in the building. Herika catched up with her as she walked into the building and, when they got to the main hall the girl patted the seat next to her. She catched up quickly with what she meant and giggled while taking a seat.

"Thanks!" Herika whispered to the girl as she sat beside her, making a mental note to ask her name after the speech ended, before paying attention to it.

David entered the building just as the announcement sounded. He looked around and found an open seat next to two girls, one of whom had a Scottish terrier. He silently sat listening to the speech, while simultaneously listening to Lyka berate him for not talking to the boy he saw. As the headmaster announced the need for regular classes he groaned inwardly, interrupting Lyka just long enough to complain about it. Lyka immediately continued his telepathic barrage until the head master mentioned the enemy. Both David and Lyka went rigid and Lyka went silent. When the headmaster finished his explanation David was stunned. Did I hear that right? He asked Lyka internally, while also turning to the two girls next to him and asking the same thing, his nervousness momentarily forgotten.

Dustin just about to say something was interrupted by an announcement, everyone including the new students were ordered to head to the dining hall mostly cause the headmaster was to give a speech regarding everyone. "Well looks like our question has been answered things are about to get started!" Dustin said grinning looking back at the two "Let's get moving shall we, it'd be horrible if we were to miss something." Dustin said nodding at both Noah and Gloria.

Jamie listened attentively to the head master speak. She didn't want to miss a single bit. In all honesty she was kind of tempted to take notes, but didn't want to look super nerdy. Jamie didn't notice when the boy sat next to her as she was so zoned into the speaker. When the announcement was over and the boy spoke to her she nearly had a heart attack. She didn't realize anyone was sitting next to her, and he had pulled her out of deep thought.

"Uh... yea" Jamie blushed trying not to act startled "At least they'll protect us until were strong enough to be on our own though!"

Jamie tried to keep cheerful in stressful times. She knew that another persons emotions usually just bothered the situation further. On the inside though she was constantly worried. Jamie bit her bottom lip. It was a bad habit of hers that she learned from her father. She did it when she was thinking, stressed, or frightened. 'Are there really people out there who want to hurt us? Just because we're magical? Maybe I should re-think my future in this field' Jamie thought to her self.

Reginald let out a whimper and nuged her hand with his nose. He knew she was worried. He had this way of sensing her emotions.

"It's okay Lass..." He said quietly to her.

Of course he was late. Why did he always have to be late?

'Of all the days, I pick the first day to this academy to be late. Nice...' Virgil thought bitterly, his dark sneakers impacting the marble beneath his feet. In a full sprint, the five foot icy blue eyed boy flew down the corridor, one of hands clutching onto a notebook, bound in black wires with a gray cover. His dark brown hoodie trailing behind him in his wake. The boy's face twisted in panic and worry, nearly plowing straight into the wall as he edged around the corner. He stopped, eyes flickering to and fro down the corridors, mumbling incoherent words under his breath.

'Oh no. Where is it?!' His mind screamed.

'This way'

Flying above his head in the large corridors, a young adult eagle chirped and angled it's body to the right. Virgil caught the eagle's piercing eye with a sigh, glad he had his friend to guide him to the Dining Hall

'Thanks Dante. What would I do without you?'

'Probably perish. Most likely.'

Virgil let a small smile creep over his lips, following his friend with a bit more vigor and confidence in his step. Hearing the announcement just as he entered the academy, Virgil was pretty sure he was going to miss the opening ceremony. Not exactly the best way to make a first impression, but his ride here wasn't exactly pleasant either. We he stepped out of his parent's car, he felt he was going to retch right in front of the school. Though, he did not expect to be transported halfway across the world either.

Finding the main entrance to the Dining hall, Virgil caught the last bit of the headmaster's speech. Taking deep calming breaths, Dante planted himself on Virgil's shoulder. Tilting his head and ruffling his feathers, the eagle took abrupt looks at the expansive dining hall.

'Well, you were late.' Dante told his master, pecking at his forehead.

'Yeah. Figures...' Virgil muttered back to him in his mind, smoothing down his hoodie and dark slacks.

'Better late than never.' Dante reminded him, shifting in place.

Virgil crossed his arms over his chest, his face placid and stone-like. Observing the older woman speaking about their dorm rooms, he let out a sigh through his nose. He wasn't quite sure what the headmaster said earlier about the school, but he surmised it was mainly just welcoming the new students to the academy. Though the warning's in his speech made his hairs on his neck stand on end.

'By the way, did he say trolls?' He asked his eagle.

'Yup, I think he did. No...wait. He said Ogres. ' Dante replied.

'Oh. And here I thought I was going deaf.' Virgil told him, a sarcastic twang echoing in his mind. Though the thought of dying by Ogres wasn't a rather pleasant thought, the curious mind of Virgil's always loved to learn about new things. Whether the inane and the minor, or major discoveries. The time he was going to have at Tassis Academy was going to be a huge amount of fun for his fact-soaking mind.

With a sigh, the boy opened his notebook, pulling a dark pen between his ear and jotting down a note. "Note to self, remember to find map of academy." He muttered out loud, closing it with a small thump

He pushed up the dark rimmed glasses on his nose, trying to scope out where exactly he was supposed to do next.

Herika payed close attention to the headmaster's speech, her hands closing into fists when he mentioned their enemies and their allies. 'Ogres and Illuminati...? Oh, man, this is going to be fun! Well, it could be dangerous, but what in our lives isn't?' she thought to herself. When the speech was over and the older woman, probably a teacher or something, came up, a boy beside them spoke, and the other girl answered. She had to admit she thought so too, and saw that the girl was biting her lip.

"Yeah... I don't think he's joking. And that's why we are here, right? To learn how to control our powers and defend ourselves and the others around us..." Herika tried to reason with them, placing a comforting hand on the girl's shoulder while her dog nudged her hand with its nose. "By the way... Shouldn't we go to the dorms now? You can tell me your names while we walk!" She completed while smirking and standing up from her seat.

Artemis made his way to the dorms, entering and going upstairs 1 level, the bottom level was for the dorm dining room and conference rooms for various student groups who might be housed here, the second level was for the 1st years, each of their rooms already had their names on them.

He found his door, on one side was the name of another student named "Virgil" "Well, I guess after everyone is settled in we should all get acquainted with eachother, but until then"

he opened the door, his new room was nice, a fully made up single bed in the center, a study desk with it's own computer, of course in a school for magic, you have to still be at least somewhat versed in 21st century technology.

he looked out the window, it overlooked the courtyard, on the other side of the courtyard was the girl's dorms, and down on the courtyard, couples were meeting up and doing their thing, Artemis went over to his bed and laid down, it was so perfectly comfortable that he almost fell asleep then and there, he looked a bit more closely at the Mattress, it was enchanted to be perfect for whoever lies on it! in fact, everything was enchanted, even the computer.... that explains how it runs with no power points in the room.

He went to his front door and opened it, going out into the hallway in the hopes of meeting some of his new classmates.

“To the dorms then...” Virgil said quietly to himself. “Away...”

Following the crowd, he shoved his hands into his hoodie's pockets, keeping his notebook under the crook of his arm. There was quite a bit more people than he expected, surprised that there was that much magic in the world. There was a ton of magic, apparently, and he was impressed how magical beings seemed to hide seamlessly into the real world.

'How do we know what room is ours?' Virgil spoke to Dante, his eyes flickering to the doors in the hallway.

'Maybe the bright sign that says 'Virgil and his amazing eagle, Dante'.' He eagle pointed out, giving a slight chirp in the direction of the door that led to his chambers.

'Don't flatter yourself, featherhead.'

Virgil reached for his door, pulling on the knob and finding it locked. “What..how are we supposed to...” As if on cue, the sound of clicking metal reached his ears, the tight doornob relaxing under his hand. “Oh...that works...No need for keys then.” He muttered, pulling out his pen from his ear again. Jotting down the observation in his notebook, Virgil slid his way into his dorm with curious wide eyes. Just like the Dining Hall, his dorm room was misleading, looking smaller on the outside than the inside. Only a few minutes inside the academy, and Virgil was already feeling the tense excitement shiver through his bones. He was going to really enjoy himself here.

He noticed his dorm had only one bed, so thankfully he wasn't going to have a roommate. Not that hated the idea, just he preferred being by himself rather than with others. Hopefully he would come out more of his shell within the first year.

Adjacent from the edge of his bed, a small desk with a matching chair was his personal desk. Along with a thin, tall window, the whole room felt like he hadn't left home. Again, he surmised magic was the cause. A small thought crossed his mind, wondering if there wasn't anything that was not enchanted in this place. Not that he was complaining.

Colored an eggshell and a cream-like beige, the room was pretty standard and bare. Leaving the room to be an interpretation his needs. He could already see it now. A bird stand for his eagle in the opposite corner, near the window that overlooked the courtyard. A couple rugs, posters of his favorite bands and important dignitaries. Though the color could do with being changed.

“Wow. Not bad.” Virgil said, his face twisting into a frown, his eyebrows raised.

'I agree. Quite spacious.' Dante noted.

Finding his bags near the edge of his bed, Virgil turned on his heels, observing the outside hallway with a shrug. Dante shifted on his shoulder, teasing a few feathers under his wing. “So, what now?” Virgil asked.

'I guess we wait. In the meantime, why don't you stand outside your room. Having me on your shoulder is a great conversation starter.' Dante told him, goading him into meeting new people.

'Or not.' Virgil retorted, quite content on observing his room some more.

'Oh come on. Not much good your going to do standing here anyway. You'll have time to stay in here when your nose is pressed into a book. Now get out there!'

“Fine...” Virgil muttered, a little perturbed by the idea. With a steadying breath, Virgil strode to outside his dorm, standing near the his open doorframe with Dante flicking his piercing eyes to every passerby.

Virgil's eyes caught one person next to him, a dark haired boy that seemed to be rooming right next to him. With a nervous smile, Virgil nodded to him, a small "hello" exited his mouth, turning his gaze back to the moving swarm of students.
