[M/M] Date Night

Key watched Luke, a confused expression was plastered on his face. He was confused about the question, what was Luke going to ask him? He was confused about this 'Howie' person, wasn't his café closed for the day anyway? hr watched Luke stand up and giving him money to take a cab home alone, what was going on? Key opened his mouth to ask Luke what was happening, what he was doing, but before he had the slightest chance to ask some big amd strong looking men barged into the restaurant, they were all armed as well. Thry were federal agents. Why were they here? More questions was being fed to Key's brain and in only seconds, everything went from perfect to a disaster.

The agents were shouting after a 'Adam King' as Luke was stood up, but a friend of his quickly made him sit. Key didn't mutter a word, he was scared. Frightened even, as he wanted to hold Luke's hand, to feel safe in his warm embrace, but Luke didn't even look at him. Key bit his lower lip, a habit he had when he was scared. He watched Luke, seeing his hand slowly making his way over to the steak knife, and Key was still left speechless. What was he suppose to say anyway? He could only watch, helplessly watch as everything unfold in front of his very eyes. In a matter of seconds an agent was coming their way.

He mainly walked towards Luke as Key wanted to say something, but his voice failed him. Luke was carefully watching and when the agent came close enough Luke drove his elbow the into the agent's stomach, swiftly stealing his gun as the knife from earlier was stabbed into the agent's shoulder, måling him scream in pain as Key jumped up from his chair, in both fear and surprise. Luke then searched for cover by jumping over the table and grabbed the corner of the table turning it into a small wall of defense against the federal agents' bullets. Panic and chaos quickly spread across the entire restaurant as the guests and staff began running around in panic.

Key was in such a shock that he seemed almost unfazed by everything, but his hand was trembling along with his entire body as his lower lip began to bleed, he had bit too hard. An agent found his way over to Key, grabbing his arm shouting something to him, but Key couldn't hear what the man said to him, he only get the harsh hand around his arm. Quickly Key shook out of his grasp, but thr agent grabbed him again. "L- Let go of me! I- I'm not le- leaving w- without Luke!" Key shouted angrily, something he usually never did as he was far too modest to shout. The other agents were all behind a tipped over table of their own, pointing their guns towards Luke's cover.

"Sir you need to leave! This is dangerous!" The federal agent's words reached Key despite his panicky state, but Key would not listen as the agent had it with Key and began dragging him towards an exit. "Let go! Let go I said! Let me go!" Key shouted over and over, his throat went hoarse, but he didn't care. He needed Luke, maybe now more than ever as Key never did good on his own, especially not when he was as scared as he was now. "Please come with us! We need to ask you some questions," another agent said to him calmly. He had just shared a meal with a person who had attacked a federal agent, of course they were suspicious of him, but Key's head didn't think. It only panicked. "Unhand me this second!" Key shouted again, he wasn't going with them. Not until he knew Luke was safe, and right now he didn't know if he could get that guarantee.

"Hey asshole," the voice was not Lukes, nor was it the Feds or Key's. The voice had come from Leo who had obtained a gun himself. He waited for the fed to look at him to knock him out cold with the gun. He grabbed Key's wrist and pulled him away from the scene using too much force that he wouldn't be able to get out of his grip.

Luke got up from his small covering, and ran again, eight men around him, four shooting. Great. Just five against twelve. No buggy. He had watched Leo pull Key away from the scene and was glad that he did, at least he knew he was in good hands. Luke had managed to knock two Feds unconscious, while Tommy, and Paully went at some others. Where were Kaleb and Kyle? The thought didn't last long, as one bullet whizzed past his ear, leaving a ringing sound, and the second grazed over his bicep. Next thing he knows was Tommy and Paully were leaving! And his hands were bound behind him. He was pushed roughly until he was met with the outdoors and cameras, more Feds and the witnesses.

No one could have predicted what happened next, all that was heard was a shout over the string of questions and shouts from the crowd that was being held back. Luke looked up to see a toaster -of all things-falling down off the balcony above them, straight towards the fed that had hold of him. He managed to escape his grasp and move, letting it fall onto his head. Kyle drove through the crowd on his motorbike, stopping for one second to let Luke on and then was off again, going through the doors of the restaurant to where the fight was earlier. Kaleb must have had the handiwork to blow the glass doors once they were in to slow them down, he tended to like explosives. The falling toaster had to be him as well. The back doors were already open for them, and the bike came to a stop, two cars sitting in the alley along with the rest of the gang -and Key. Luke- or Adam now- got off the bike and quickly went over to him, looking him over for any scratches or signs of harm. Completely forgetting about the fact that he had been shot. "Are you okay?" He asked, "we need to go, that blast won't hold them off forever," he added.

Key was still fighting, or at least struggling against the agent's grasp. Where he was going was not an issue, the issue was going without Luke. He respected authority, but even Key had his limits. However in the midst of him getting grabbed and dragged away, Leo, a friend of Luke's which Key luckily recognized, walked up to where they were standing, knocking the guar unconscious which led him to let Key's arm go. He was relieved and happy that the agent harsh grip let go of his arm. However Leo grabbed his wrist before Key had the chance to run to Luke's side. "Leo I just-" Before Key had a chance to object Leo, who was far stronger than Key, dragged him up unwillingly out of thw restaurant.

More confusion build itself up, even worse than Key had thought. The worst part about it all wasn't that the federal agents had ruined their dinner, but the fact that Luke and his friends were unfazed by all this, as if they already knew what was going to happen, or more that theu had already been in this situation before. The second Leo and Key were out and into the alleyway, Key pulled his wrist out of Leo's grip. He tried to go back inside, but Leo stopped him, assuring Key that everything was going to be fine and that Luke was coming out soon. Even though Key wished to think nothing, but exactly that, he couldn't stop himself from worrying, but did not fight against Leo as he knew the outcome before they had begun.

Seconds turned to hours quickly, a minute was an eternity in itself as Key stood outside waiting for Luke to join him, he was trembling. A loud explosion could be heard, as Key was about run back into the building, but Leo grabbed his wrist again and pulled him out of the way as Luke came out, on a motorcycle no less and he was hurt. There was scratches on him, but Luke walked over to him and asked what Key was suppose to ask. Key could not say a word as tears formed themselves in his eyes, if they were of joy or because he was so relieved he didn't know, but he did know that all the questions he was going to ask later had to wait.

Key threw himself into Luke's arms and tears were trailing down his cheeks in a furious speed, small sniffles made their way over to him as well. "Luke... I- I..." he couldn't finish his sentence before more tears trailed down his cheek, as he continued to hug Luke, refusing to let the man go. He had a lot of questions that Luke had to answer, but now the only thing he wished for was to hear Luke's reassuring words, to feel his warmth and to hit the one who dared to hurt him. Just for a few seconds, Key wished for the whole world around him to not exist, just so he could calm down and collect his thoughts as his head was spinning, too much had happened over such a short period of time.

Luke wrapped his arms around Key, holding the man there and looking around just to count heads, Tommy, Leo, Paully and K squared, awesome. He nodded to the others and they all started to go to their vehicles, "It's okay," Luke whispered to Key, leading him to one of the cars, he strapped him down in the back seat, claiming the drivers seat, as Leo sat in the passenger seat. Tommy and Paully taking the second car and Kaleb and Kyle on the bike. Good, all of his ducklings were in a row.

As Luke pulled out onto the street, he reached his hand back to take his hand and reassure him that things were okay. "So Howie called, he's the one that gave us away. That's why they were there. I should have known! There was a sign on the cafe door this morning, but I thought it was one of you playing some cruel trick on me. We should have backed out of the city when I saw it," Adam was getting frustrated with himself, he's gone so long without one slip up and now. "We need to leave, if Howie knows we're here then we are done for. We just need a place until we can figure out our next move. I don't know about you but I feel that taking back the Red Prints is my first move. Howie has pushed it to shit and it's gone too long," he sighed and stole a glance over at the boy.

"Adam," he said, very aware of the use of his real name, "You're still a leader to us, and we will follow you, but when the idea is taking back Red Prints with an army of six men, things wont work out," Leo stated. And Adam was very aware of that fact, but maybe they didn't need an army. These were the top six men in the gang, they could do a lot more damage then some feds.

Luke just sighed and nodded his head, "We'll talk more about it when we're somewhere safe. Which reminds me, all cellphones are to be thrown so we can't be tracked." he took a glance back in the mirror and looked at Key, "You too, pumpkin," he said.

The sweet voice of Luke entered his head, his reassuring words worked only seconds after he told Key that everything was going to be okay. It was sort of like magic of some sort, to stop crying on the spot when he was embraced by Luke, just like that the whole world was thrown into a different unknown corner of his mind, and every single one of his worries were thrown into oblivion, of course that didn't last long as Luke escorted him over to the car and placed him in the backseat, but it did allow Key to dry his tears away, using the sleeve of his red shirt, and he was clearly embarrassed about crying in front of Luke's friends, but right now he was more confused than embarrassed, but he would definitely look back and hate himself for crying in front of them all in the nearest future.

They were all placed in one car, as they pulled out into the street and easily blended in with the rest of the cars. The federal agents were behind them, but they had no clue which car they were in, and for them they had already disappeared. Key had so many questions, and he wanted answers now. He had calmed down, he was no longer panicking, and now he wanted answers. Who was Howie? Red Prints, that was the gang he read about earlier today, but why would Luke know about them? But maybe most importantly, why did everyone else in the car call him 'Adam' and not 'Luke'?

They continued to talk, as they were planning on taking the Red Prints back. He was a leader... They were filling Key's head with even more problems and worries than he already had. Then Luke, or Adam told him to throw his phone. "Wait... What is going on? Luke, or Adam or... I don't even know anymore..." Key said confused as he held Adam's hand firmly in his own, even if he just found out everything he knew about the man he loved was a lie, that they had been living on a lie, he didn't want to let go of his hand, just because, his heart didn't allow it. "I want an explanation, before I do anything," Key said stubbornly, he was getting answers, and until he got some, he simply couldn't do a single thing. Because he no longer knew who the 'real Luke' was, especially knowing that even his name was fake.

Adam sighed, he knew the questions were coming but he wished to god that they could wait a little bit longer to be answered. "The long a short of it is that I'm not exactly who I said I was and if you don't want us to be killed then break your phone, throw it out the window, I don't care," he said growing slightly impatient. This is what happened when he was on a mission, he went into leader mode, and that meant being rude, demanding and very, very impatient. Adam rolled down his window taking a glance back to see Tommy and Paully in the car behind them, he gave the thumbs up to tell them no phones, it was just a subtle way of saying it and it was a way so that they wouldn't be noticed. He rolled his window back up knowing that Kaleb and Kyle were already smart enough to do so, or at least not bring their phones with them. He took out his own phone, having to let go of Key's hand to get it out of his pocket, "Key, I need you to give your phone to Leo," he said, "unless you plan on getting off this roller coaster."

Adam took the left onto the old back roads so it would be a little more secluded than the open highway. He waited until they were in a good five miles before pulling over, leaning over and openin the glove compartment to take out the 9mm handgun that he knew would be in there. After all it was his car. So maybe an upgrade wasn't needed seeing as he owned a 2010 camaro. But hey, he had to play the part as a poor guy coming into town, so he let Leo have the car not thinking he'd had it back; but low and behold.

Adam got out of the car and Leo followed close behind with Tommy and Paully pulling over by the time that they were out of the car, and Kyle and Kaleb rolling up on the motorbike. Once they were all off their vehicles, Adam looked up at them, "you know the drill, phones on the ground," he told them loading up the gun waiting for them to follow orders.

Key sighed, he was frustrated he wanted to shake Adam to the death. He wanted a real explanation, not just a short summary. He wanted to know who it was he loved, was it just an act? Had he fallen in love with someone who was this good at hiding their true self? What was he going to do? Another sigh escaped his lips as he took his phone out of his pocket. What am I going to tell my editor? I was suppose to come over tomorrow to discuss my new book... What am I involved in? Why won't any of them tell me anything?! Key thought frustrated as he gave Leo his phone, but his eyes were fixated on Adam, showing his clearly angry expression, something he rarely used around Adam, or Luke. He wasn't sure who he was anymore.

Key did not recognize the road they were driving, it had been a while since Key had driven around town to take a proper look around, as he had only done that when he and Adam had first arrived here. They moved here together, and that was when they had decided to take a quick drive around to see the town. It was a happy memory, but Key couldn't help thinking that it wasn't love as Key felt, but it was Adam acting to be someone else, and Key was simply another piece of the puzzle, being there at the right time. Had he been played this whole time? Adam's hand slipped out of Key's as this thought flew through his mind as in Key's head it felt as a sort of confirmation that he had been played, but he refused to believe that. It wasn't true, not even Fate could be that cruel.

Adam pulled out a gun from the glove compartment, seemingly known in this car as well as the rest walked out of the car and Key followed them of course. "I want answers, and I want them now. Where are we going, who are you and what am I getting myself into?" Key asked, a clear sign of anger was in his voice as he had it with all these unanswered questions. He wasn't going anywhere now without any answers. His eyes were mainly fixated on Adam's eyes, he was displeased, he felt betrayed, tricked, fooled. There was nothing happy going on in his heart, the only thing he could think of was how to go back to this morning, and make sure they never made it to the dinner in the beginning.

Adam took the gun shooting the pile of phones on the ground with a long sigh, handing the gun off to Leo. He looked up at Key, he could tell he was mad. He didn't blame him for being mad; Adam would actually be surprised if he wasn't mad. He turne his head slightly, seeing some of them out of the corner of his eye. He cleared his throat loudly, like what he wanted was obvious. "A moment," he then said, to which they all clued in and left to give them their moment.

Adam walked over to Key, taking both hands in his own once he knew the boys were out of ear distance. "Pumpkin," he said quietly, "I have a good idea as to what is going through your head and I just want you to know that I still love you; so much. I'm still me, just with a little more backstory," Adam didn't take his eyes off Key, every word he said he wanted him to know was the truth. "Luke Foster is actually my grandfather from my mothers side, my real name is Adam King," he said almost shamefully. "So I'm going to tell you his story, not Luke's story."

"Adam grew up in Oklahoma, with two very non loving parents. Luke told you they died, but that's not true. Well it might be, you see Adam hasn't had any contact with his parents since he was nineteen. Him and Luke are very similar; they're both loyal, and they're both sweet, and happy, and brave, and they're both in love.

"When Adam was 22 he was officially the leader of the Red Prints. And no the Red Prints are not what society made them out to be. Back then they were like any cliche comic book superhero; they did good but were seen as the vigilante. That's not the case; yes they murdered, yes they're wanted for arson, but these guys, they did it for good. They took out the threat before it became a threat. Yes theft and prostitution was thrown in there, but there's always a few bad apples somewhere.

"Then Howie and his men came, by then Adam was 29. He kicked out Adam and five of his best men -Tommy, Leo, Paully, Kaleb and Kyle. When that happened they were almost killed, they were lucky to get away. Adam was wanted in over 15 states, so he changed his name, got a new identity and was able to move to Canada. Where he moved here and worked in a mechanics garage for three long years. He finally quit, wanting to be able to open a cafe, within a year, he did.

"The most important part though, of this story, was that he fell in love. He fell in love with the most handsome man that he could ever dream of having. He was so afraid to tell him who he was, afraid of putting him in danger, so he hid Adam. But this man, he loves him so very much. Tonight was an important night for him. He wants to know something very important. That's why he made reservations at a fancy restaurant, not letting his boyfriend argue about payment.

"Key, I'm going to tell you why this night is so important," Adam said, subtly releasing one of his hads so Key would not notice, pulling out his small box, opening it. He opened Key's hand and placed the velvet box there, still holding onto it slightly. "Adam wants to know if you would accept this ring, and accept his proposal to be his husband. So he can have you forever, and so he can love you with Everything he has until his heart stops beating..... I love you so, so much Key..."

Key watched the others leave, as this was exactly what he wanted, an explanation from Adam himself. They had been lovers for two years now and not once had this been mentioned, not even once. He was angry, furious, mad even. It was maybe to the point where he would have hit Adam if he wasn't so calm and collected around him, it didn't matter. His heart was laying in the bottom of his chest, drowning itself in both doubts and worries. Key always did that when he was in such a situation where Adam, or Luke at that time, was not enough to calm him down. It frustrating him to think how dependent he was on Adam, how it made him feel safe, happier, kinder.

Key mentally kicked himself as he listened to Adam's story, and this time Key knew it was the truth, there was no way in heaven's name that Adam would lie now, Key was an author and sometime journalist for small cases, or he wrote them at the very least, detecting a lie right now would be easy and so knew Adam as well so Key only let himself be swept away by Adam's words, his voice like he always would. it was like a spell, no matter how angry, furious or mad Key was all he needed was hearing Adam's sweet voice and his mood brightened up. He refused thinking that their two years together was a lie, that it was all an act and as luck would have it, it was true.

Key would usually have pulled his had out of Adam's grasp to show how angry he was, but Key already found himself under Adam's spell, as he could not remove his eyes from his looking slightly up at the slightly taller man in front of him. A small box was pressed to his hand, as it took Key two seconds to know what he was going to ask, two minutes to shuffle it around in his head, three minutes as his heart stopped beating and an eternity to express his happiness. This was not real, he was proposing! Right here, right now! Key's cheeks lit up as he nodded, tears flowing in his eyes a second time.

"There's no going back you know. I won't give you the ring back even if it's your dying wish," Key muttered, leaping into Adam's arms a second time as the happiness he felt was more than simply over the top. The timing and place was from romantic, and this was maybe the worst place to propose on, bur for Key it just turned into the best. "Luke or Adam. Clean or criminal. I fell in love with you. Not your name or your past, but... I beg you... no more surprised for a while okay? I don't think I can handle another one," Key said joking a little as he would always do that when he wanted to stop crying, but it usually never worked. Key stood up, leaning towards Adan's chest, kissing the man passionately on the lips.

The only thing Key that scared him more than dying was living without Adam. The voices that told him that told him not to trust Adam, but it was too late to turn back. He was in love, and even though the person he fell in love with had been lying their entire relationship. His heart was dead set on Adam, and this incident changed nothing.

Happy was an understatement for Adam, he was absolutely overjoyed that he said yes. He held the man close to him, a smile on his lips, "I understand if you're still upset with me, you have every right to be," Adam told him. He couldn't get enough of his lips, pressing small repeated kisses to his lips, "I love you so, so much, pumpkin," he said holding the man tightly in his arms. Sadly, Adam had to let go, he pulled away slightly to take the ring out of the box and place it on Key's finger. "I promise, I would never ask you to take that ring off even if my life depended on it."

Adam smiled at Key, glad he wasn't as angry as before, he hated when Key was mad at him. But hey, he just told the man he loved that everything - well most things- that he knew about him was a lie. Adam looked back with a sigh and turned his gaze towards Key. "I don't want you getting involved in this, you'll get hurt," he said. "And that's pretty easy to do," he said raising his shot arm slightly with a small laugh. "I don't want you involved," he repeated placing a kiss to his forehead.

Adam dropped his hands to his side and turned around to start walking towards the car. He stopped before getting in, "I will come back, because when I do I get to marry such a perfect man," he said with a half sad smile before getting in the car rolling down the window. Waiting for Leo to plop himself down in the passenger seat as he always did.

(Sorry for the kinda short reply, I'm at work right now :P )

"I don't want to be upset anymore. I just want to stay with you," Key answered him, holding tightly onto Adam's large body, only letting go when Adam placed the ring on his finger. The sweet words that came from his mouth, the same voice that would wake him up in the morning, the one that would tease him, everything was the same. His past hadn't changed one single thing, and of course Key felt a bit more insecure towards what Adam was saying, but it was normal right? They were fiancees now. They promised each other to one day get married, to live together forever. There was not a thing in the world that could make this moment better, except if nothing of what had happened today hadn't happened at all.

"You better keep that promise, since you're not getting it back," Key said letting out a small amused chuckle, as he had finally stopped crying. He hated how he cried when he was happy too, but what was he suppose to do? He was a sentimental person, and there was not a thing in the world that could change that, Key had tried mostly every single method. Key looked at Adam's arm, and his chest. His fingers gently stroke over the small wounds, as if they were gigantic which they were in Key's eyes. It angered him that someone had harmed him, but it made him feel some sort of satisfaction, as at one point Key had wanted to slap Adam across the face, but due to his shy self that didn't happen, he wouldn't feel that satisfaction if it was more than just burn marks, but it still angered him far more than satisfaction.

Key received a sweet kiss on the forehead, as he had let himself get swept away in the moment, to only realize, once Adam left for the car that he was being left behind. Of course, the ring and the promise of getting together in the future calmed him a bit down, but he wasn't about to let Adam leave, especially not now. Key ran over to the car and sat himself inside the car, looking at Adam. "I'm already involved. I'm coming with you, and there's not NO MATTER what you say I am coming with you. You can't talk me out of this one. Dangerous or not, I'm not leaving," Key said as he handed Adam back the money for the cab he was given earlier, stubbornly placing himself in the car as he fastened his seat belt as well.

((Work hard then! Plus the length is fine with me! Just avoid all sort of 1 liners, and I should get by :) | ))

Adam sighed knowing very well of his stubbornness and knew that it was not something to be trifled with, however it didn't mean he wasn't going to try. Adam looked up at Leo out the window, "sorry, but I believe Key has demoted you to backseat," he said reaching over and taking Key's hand in his own. "Now, if you're coming with us there are some rules. Rule number one."

"No being sidetracked," Leo said popping his head between the two seats.

"Rule number two-"

"-you are in no way to be involved in any fights, where we sleep is where you stay."

"Rule number three-"

"-complaining is not an option."

"Rule number four-"

"-always be prepared."

"Rule number five-"

"-never...wait there is no rule five."

"Don't get hurt, because some day soon I'm going to marry you," Adam finished. He glanced over at Key for a moment before his eyes went back over to the road. "Now we need to make a stop at The Hut before we can go anywhere, gear up, get some supplies, grab our communicators, all of that," Adam said, "after that we need to advise a plan and know where we're going to lay low for a while until we go in and take them out."

"I'm sorry Leo, but you will not mind will you?" Key asked Leo as he had already fastened his seat belt, and there was no way he was getting out of the car now. Not now, not ever. The only way he was somehow getting out of the car was if Adam dragged him out of the car personally. Key listened intensely to Adam's rules, as he there was a small temptation to complain about rule number two, but it seemed as that break rule number three, so instead he kept his mouth shut. Though, he did need to contact his editor in someways so that she wouldn't come over to their apartment and get worried when he didn't come to the meeting tomorrow.

"I won't, but the same goes for you. Don't get hurt," Key said as he squeezed Adam's hand in his own. Focusing more ahead than he was at Adam, as he had no clue where this 'Hut' was. In someways Key could at least help Adam and his gang, but was he really aware of what he was getting himself involved in? Yes, he was going to be with Adam at all times, and yes there were no more secrets among the two of them, but... he was getting himself involved in a GANG FIGHT. The gang fights he had read in the newspapers seemed to never have a 'happily ever after', but one time had to be the first.... right?

"I can help you guys right? In some ways?" Key asked Adam, simply because he wanted to do more than being stuck inside their 'hideout', assuming they had one, the entire day waiting for Adam and the rest to return. He could learn how to shoot... though he would probably not shoot someone in the first place. He could learn how to fight! Though he had a small and very fragile body.... Maybe he could learn how to infiltrate, or use stealth? But he had a bad habit of over thinking everything... "I know!" Key happily exclaimed out loud. "I can hack for you guys!" That was a part of his past Key had never mentioned to Adam, that he was a very good hacker. It was back in his high school days that he could hack into the government's database, but the government hadn't done anything about it as Key in return helped them out with one case.

((I was wondering what happened to you in this and then I realized it was me! I never got a notification for this xP))

Adam listened to Key as he tried to figure something out to do for the gang, as e did he rolled down his window and put out his hand makin a 'move forward' motion to Kyle and Kaleb. With that one motion they knew where they were going and what the ETA should be. He rolled the window back up after they had passed his car and looked over at Key after his words finally processed, "Hacking?" He couldn't help but snort slightly, "I'm sorry, Key, but you just don't spring me as the type of a hacker," he said as nicely as he could.

"Sure you could learn, but to become so good at it without the worry of being detected or having whatever system you use traced back to you takes years, no one here can do that. I mean the twins sure, but they can barely even do that." He said looking over to Key, one brow raised.

((It's fine! Life gets busy or that was what I thought ^^! Glad to see you're back though! :D ))

Key looked over to Adam and frowned at his disbelief, of course he didn't seem like the hacker type, he had been an author for his entire life for as much as Adam knew, but he had to keep his own secrets, especially since he did hack into the database of the FBI simply to get a file out of their systems. In one way it was allowed to say that Key's past wasn't exactly "clean" either, though he had never killed anyone, but almost managed to get himself into jail for twenty years before he was allowed to hack into another system for the federal government and then be released as if nothing in the world had ever happened.

"You see..." Key said a bit embarrassed hoping none of them would think badly of him after he shared his little visit with the government in his high school days, yes it had been quite some time now, but his skills weren't rusty at all. He had actually taken some time to continuously hack into other databases to extend hid deadline for example and such, though he did feel guilty for doing so and changed it back, if not only extended it by an hour instead of a month. Key explained his past about the government to Adam and felt very embarrassed doing so as it was a secret he wasn't really proud of, and hopefully he would be able to help and not just sit around.

"How does it sound Adam? Can I at the very least sit in the hideout hacking for you?" Key asked in his stubborn voice, he wasn't going to back down easily on this one, and he was already debating if he should take some shooting classes or maybe start working out in the gym, though he knew that was going to basically impossible for him and his small build, as he barely managed to carry more than five books at the time.

Leo's head popped in between the two seats before Adam could say anything, "I so called that one," he said with a grin. Adam retorted with a 'no you didn't'. However, Leo was quick to answer, "The guys and I made a bet, the your boyfriend wasn't as innocent as we thought, and I now need twenty bucks from everyone," he smiled proudly leaning back in his seat, arms crossed.

"Yes, well you can collect your prize money later, right now we need to get to where we're going. We have a few more important things at stake here," he said taking a glance over at Key. Squeezing his hand slightly, he sighed. "I'll think about it. If Howie knows that I have a weak point and finds it, then he will do everything in his power to take it and hurt it," Adam said with a sigh. "And it's not just a few scratches. It's merciless torture from like 1692, I will not have that happen to you when I know very well that I can stop it," he said taking a glance over to Key.

The rest of the car ride was blan, not much happened; it was one long ride down what seemed to be an endless road. Until the twins had turned down a back road and stopped at a small cottage, the only thing around here that seemed normal. However what laid inside was far from it. Kyle and Kaleb got off their bike and headed inside before anyone else arrived. Adam pulled his car up next to the bike and him and Leo got out of the car. Leo headed inside, however, Adam waited for Tommy and Paully to show up in the last car. Within a few minutes, the headlights were shinin down the road and Tommy parked his Viper next to Adam's car. Tommy got out of the drivers seat -of course- and Paullt had to be woken up before getting out of the car. "Looks like the gangs back in business," Tommy said with a small grin going into the cabin, Paully to follow close behind.

"You made a... Wait what do you mean by innocent?" Key asked and looked over to Adam with a small glare before he couldn't help himself, but laugh. He did maybe come off as the adorable cute person that was modest and bashful, something he was, but there was a reason why he was as modest and shy now unlike his days back in high school where he was one of the delinquents, something he was not proud of to say the least. Though he had burned all the pictures from that time and made sure to delete the files in the school's database, there was a reason behind why he was only getting straight As and still sleeping in class.

Key felt the squeeze and looked up to Adam with a reassuring smile. He wasn't completely aware who this 'Howie' guy was, and the only thing he knew for certain was that he was biting over more than he could chew. Key was getting involved in a gang fight, where he earlier today didn't even manage to shake himself free of a man's grasps. He needed to get stronger, or more capable of self defense. Maybe he could carry a box of pepper spray with him everywhere? No, that made him seem more like a damsel in distress than a man managing to defend himself. He let out a soft sigh hearing Adam's worries and felt more nervous, but he wasn't backing out. Not now, not ever.

"I'm here 'till the very end. The only way you're making me not help you out is to kill me," Key said in a very serious tone as he was going to help them, and if he was going to sit in their base hacking away on a computer day in and day out, simply watching them going into battle while he was watching, then so be it. In the very least he wanted to contribute with the fight to not only get Adam out of trouble, but to get his normal and peaceful life back. "I'm with you Adam, I know you won't let anything happen to me. That's why I wish to join you in your fight," Key said as he caught Adam's glance and smiled.

They finally arrived at the cabin after they had been quiet for some time now, though it was good for Key to get some silence around himself and collect his thoughts ever so slightly. There even was a time where he had almost fallen asleep, but woke quickly up when the car stopped and they came to a small seemingly normal cabin. He got out of the car and waited with Adam to see everyone arrive and greeted them all with quick nods as he was readying his head. This was going to change his normal quiet author life for a long time forward, but he was with Adam so that made everything okay.
