Superpower story. (please note this is really wip, and Rhian is also able to be played as just a regular person) Rhian, on a visit to London, contracted a never-before seen form of bird flu from an interaction with a single pigeon at age 14. After being severely ill and a lengthy hospital visit - she returned home and attempted to carry on normally. It was a few months down the line when she started to notice some very strange changes. First was in the mind, a heightened awareness of her surroundings, excellent vision, an amazing memory and a connection with her avian friends. She may have spoken up abut the mental changes if it hadn't been for the physical ones.
Rhian discovered a single feather which had grown on the underside of her left arm one morning before school, and completely freaked out. She bunked off for the first time to sneak back into the house when her parents left for the day in order to examine this alarming change. She plucked the feather from her skin, hiding it away. In her confusion and panic, she discovered she had new found strength in both her arms and legs., and a newfound stamina. Oh, and she also discovered that her arms generated enough movement to make her hover over the ground of her bedroom if moved in the motion of wings flapping.
The sheer shock of the changes she experienced silenced her. Who could she possible tell? Even her closest of friends would freak out. Over the years, she has largely ignored what has happened and tried to enjoy her adolescence - relationships and crushes have been difficult, especially when they get intimate in fear of something becoming obvious. Every morning she plucks new feathers (which have increased in number steadily, she's still able to get them all), and she uses her mental advantages as much as she can. It has been fantastic for exams. Only occasionally has she ever indulged a fascination in what has happened, and she has sneaked out in the dead of night to the local wooded area to try and fly. She has succeeded, with much effort, but the fear of being discovered or being hurt stops her from really trying.
