We could do both tbh. Kreech's death tells him to seek the magic user and the dream with the Crone tells him where to go or say whatever she wants to say.

Excellent and yes giblet is with you. He helped raid the town and was on the other side of it searching the barracks for raw materials when the baloth attacked. He ran as fast as he could managing to show up long after it was dead. He did help move the carcass.
