Graant Zandorhal

Nickname: Zandor

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Race: Human

Height: 6'2

Weight: 184 pounds

Quests complete: He's lost track, somewhere around 20

divider.png

no slide
no slide
Appearance
Graant is fairly unassuming, having brown, shoulder length hair, and a rough beard of the same color. He usually wears simple leathers or armor, only allowing himself to be extravagant in rare situations. All that stands out about him are his eyes, which are a beautiful, dark grey color, and a long scar across the right side of his face.
Personality
Graant is a sarcastic man, not knowing times appropriate to run his mouth and when not to. He is humorous, usually able to make people laugh. However, he is also considerably arrogant.

He has a short temper, getting angry easily, at any time. This usually works to his disadvantage, making him very unreliable. His anger has caused him to fail at the quests he's signed up for. This makes him better for quests and jobs involving less diplomacy and more action.

Despite his flaws, Graant does have a naturally kind heart, hoping to help anybody he possibly could. He has low self esteem, being incredibly sensitive to those that criticize him unfairly.
Background/history
Graant was born a bastard. His father was a noble, his mother a simple whore. He gained no attention his entire life, everyone ignoring him due to his birth status. So he only did one thing, from the age of five, he would train night and day to become better at fighting. Eventually, he had been considered one of the best fighters in his small city.

When he turned fifteen, he had gone exploring, armed with only a single sword. While he was walking, he had heard screams from down the path. He ran to help, unsheathing his sword. He found where the scream originated, but it was too late. Five bandits swooped down upon an innocent traveling merchant. He was enraged. He let out a yell, and attacked. But the bandits were too much, and he only landed a few blows before he felt overwhelmed. He was about to be executed, when mercenaries from Lundall came to his rescue. His face was permanently scarred, along the right half of his face.

After being rescued, he knew what he had to do. He decided that he would come to Lundall, and help the helpless, like he had been. He climbed up to the mountain, until he found himself at the front gates. He entered, and the rest was history.
Weapons/Fighting style
Graant only excels in one thing, and that's combat. He adopts a fairly unique style, fighting with two swords, going mostly on the offense. Single opponents would have difficulty defeating him, luckily, he tries to show mercy if opponents ask for it.

Despite his advantages, he has difficulty fighting against multiple opponents, or those who attack from behind. He also has difficulty against those who get in his head, or feign surrender.

Amoris Falanae

Gender: Male

Age: 80

Race: Elven

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 128lbs

Quests completed: 9

divider.png

no slide
no slide
Appearance
Amoris has softly textured brown hair and amber eyes that glow when he's using magic. He has fair skin, so it is easy to tell when he is embarrassed, warm or sick, due to the flush on his face. He dresses in clothing that is easy to move in, without too many billowing pieces, which would get in the way of his casting.
Personality
Having grown up without a proper family, Amoris finds words of 'promise' to be empty, believing that actions speak far louder than words could.

He sees his status as a mage to be far more problematic than his being an elf, oblivious to the fact that in many places, the opposite is likely to be true. He is very hard on himself, and internalizes his feelings to such an extent that his fellow mercenaries might think he dislikes them.

The reality of it is that he's a very gentle and easily hurt fellow. He finds animals to be easier to get along with than people, though he has a big heart and once someone gains his friendship and trust, he will always have their back.

no slide
Background/history

Amoris comes from an orphanage small hamlet where everyone knows one another and magic is feared. It was said that because of the greed of a wizard there long ago, the town had a terrible drought and over the years, the people had to work twice as hard to bring their home back to it's original state. So it's no surprise that when the 'pointy eared' boy showed magical gifts one day, he was banished from the place in hopes that they would not be cursed once again for housing a mage within their ranks.

It was difficult to find a job for himself, being both young and elven. Many people wanted to hire strong, human men to work fields or carry lumber. They had no desire to take in the willowy 'blade-ear' who didn't even look like he could lift a bag of horse feed.

Winter came again, and Amoris was left to search out somewhere to make camp, when he heard a few voices, following the jovial sound. Eventually he found himself at a mercenary camp, seeing as the group tried to start a fire with flint in the cold winter air. Wanting to help with his own skills, he snapped his fingers by the base of the wood pile and the fire started. It was then that he realized his status as a mage wasn't the curse he had been raised to believe it was. It could also be a gift that gave him purpose.

Weapons/Fighting style
As a magic user, his fighting style is a long distance one. Though he is capable of casting without any tools, he prefers to use a staff as his focus, to channel his magical energy through and make attacks easier. His staff is made of sturdy wood and has a crystal at the top, enclosed in a cage of 'root' like growths at the staff's top.

Magic can be a wonderful tool, but for what gains in mystical strength, he lacks in physical strength and fortitude. He is less 'sturdy' than others, so he can not take as many hits before being injured beyond the ability to continue fighting. Up-close combat stresses him out, as he feels that he doesn't have enough time or space to safely cast his spells. In up close combat, he runs the risk of the spell hurting him as well as an enemy.

Great! Could you perhaps add why he joined the guild and when he did as well? Apart from that, everything is perfect.

As innocent as she might (not) look, Tori has a cold heart built for killing. Anything she considers time-wasting she avoids unless she's truly trying to escape something.
If anyone were to kill someone she cares for (or was hired to protect..) she'll lose it and chase after them until they die as well. {slide=[bg=#333333][border=1px solid white]Background/history[/border][/bg]}[bg=#111111]Tori was born the child to two philosophers who didn't believe in any god, but instead that the world ebbed and flowed with its own energy, an energy that every being possessed, simply known as Aura among humans and Lifestream among planets; they had discovered that a human could be born without Aura, and completely lack the ability to do magics of any sort; but that if the planet lost this energy, it would die completely. When it was discovered that their child had a large amount of Aura, they were ecstatic; even more so when it was found that Tori not only could use magic but actually could manipulate her own energy, and thus the large amount of it. When it was further revealed that blue, wispy forms of Tori's ancestors had appeared and were teaching the girl, Tori's parents nearly lost their mind. They could prove to the world that Aura and the Lifestream existed!
To keep her abilities in check, Tori had to practice mental and emotional control, which resulted in her current cold personality; and had to meditate twice a day, once upon waking and once before sleeping. As she grew older, Tori began to neglect these duties, and her powers began to spiral out of control. When bandits attacked her home, Tori tried to fight them off, but destroyed everything in the process through a huge outburst of power. Everything--all the people, houses, and even animals--was gone. All that was left was the willow tree she had trained under. The wisps haven't appeared to her since.
Tori quickly began doing odd jobs for anyone who was willing to hire her, moving up the chain of mercenaries to become one of the top requests. When a job went wrong, however, she was plummeted to the bottom, where one of the guild recruiters for Lundall found her, accepting her because of her abilities and how much potential she still had. While manipulating spirit energy counts as magic, Tori uses it to empower her attacks and irritate open wounds, and can even charge up miniature missiles of sorts, although this longer-distance combat isn't her forte, not even close. Tori relies more on combat with short (VERY short) blades, like daggers and knives, which reveals that her spirit energy is more useful for close-combat.
The more damage Tori takes, the more powerful her Aura manipulation becomes as the stuff pours out of wounds and wraps around her; she also becomes more fatigued, however, because the energy has left her body after all. When injured far enough, angered enough, or out of will, Tori can take on an alternate, flame-surrounded, ghostly form, that resulted in her nickname: Phantom. [/bg]{/slide}

Gwynnestri Wolska

Nickname: Gwynn

Gender: Female

Age: 22

Race: Human

Height: 5'6"

Weight: 121 lbs

Quests completed: 13

divider.png

Appearance
Gwynn has a more...masculine build than most other women out there. Her well built arms and various scars, the most prominent being right above her eyebrow often make her look more vigorous. She has about shoulder-length blonde hair and light gray eyes. She wears her signature blue and white outfit on a daily basis, along with leather gloves and boots. She usually has her lute tied to her back.
Personality
Very often, Gwynn can be seen being quite brash and arrogant. She can be very over-confident in her abilities and can easily pick a fight, both on purpose or by accident. She is a true entertainer at heart, and will always show off in front of a crowd of people. She is very cynical and an natural prankster.

Gwynn can also be very stubborn. She does not easily take orders from others, especially if he is not particularly fond of them or if she simply does not like what you're asking for. She does show her stubbornness through pouts or angers. She actually shows to be quite the optimist. She smiles at nearly everything, even in the heat of a battle.

This mix of optimism and bullheadedness can be mistaken for laziness. Since she is often still smiling when she refuses an order. But in reality, Gwynn is smarter and more hardworking than she looks. She is able easily read enemies and know their weaknesses. She is quick-witted and always finds a way to give opponents a hard time.

Gwynn has natural a love for money. She knows when she has to work hard to earn it and when to swindle her way to earn more or get discounts, and can be very, VERY stingy with it. But Gwynn hates to waste or overspend.
Background/history
Gwynn was born to a family of common humans in a small town. Her father owned a small potion shop and her mother unfortunately passed 2 years after her birth.Raised by her widowed father, young Gwynn lived and help around her father's shop. Everything changed however, when the shop fell into bankruptcy after failing to compete with a larger chain of potion stores. Her father was forced to work under the name of that chain, giving the majority of the earnings to that company. Gwynn and her father barely had any money for themselves for anything. The shop eventually closed down anyway and her father passed a year later from illness. Gwynn was only 16. Through this experience Gwynn now has the philosophy that money is the only thing that matters when to comes to living.

The now orphaned Gwynn traveled alone at age 16 in search of finding a new way of living. She joined a travelling circus and learned to play the lute. She was surprisingly a natural at the lute and soon realized she was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. She soon became a star performer there, singing tales of the wars and histories once past. At age 20, she left her career with the circus and decided that she would find a way to make more money on her own. She traveled from tavern to tavern and spun stories and songs for the drunkards there. She soon found she could make even more money beside her work as a bard through arm wrestling. After months of perfecting her skills, she became a renowned arm wrestler, going against other champions and bringing them down.

But even with her income from her bard work and winnings from arm-wrestling circles, she still looked for a place to earn even more, so she decided to join a guild as well. She found the Guild of Mercs and Misfits to be the one best suited for her, since she was promised coin above greatness and glory.
Weapons/Fighting style
Gwynn's fighting style can be rather...unorthodox. When she is forced to fight, she does wield a silver long sword. She rarely will strike though, and will flirt, sing, or tantalize enemies into submission instead. Her songs can either help inspire or subjugate others. She also is remarkably good at dodging things.

Because of Gwynn overflowing amount of arrogance, she will often go after the stronger foes in battle when she herself is not entirely great at swordplay, and can be beaten with it comes to a battle of physical combat. She will also not ask for the help of others, even if it seems she will obviously lose. She can also get easily distracted in showing off and be caught off guard.

The only type of physical battle Gwynn excels at is arm-wrestling after so much time travelling from tavern to tavern. (Mainly because she learned how to use technique over brute force).

Perfect, accepted! Hopefully RP can start soon!

Appearance
Tori is a fairly tanned woman with a thin build that hides her true strength. With clear blue eyes that reflect determination, and long strawberry-blonde hair, Tori seems to have been blessed with good looks. She doesn't flaunt it, but it's there.
Personality
Tori keeps her mind on whatever she's doing, and takes just about everything seriously. Insults are brushed aside by her own self-confidence. While she does occasionally show a joking side, it's incredibly rare and never interferes with her work beyond the upwards curling of lips. She refuses to take crap from anyone, and she hates liars and lying to the point that she will admit to a crime.. and then kill her way out of it. As innocent as she might (not) look, Tori has a cold heart built for killing. Anything she considers time-wasting she avoids unless she's truly trying to escape something.

She makes a rather threatening figure when angered, and lowered voice sending shivers down the spines of those with both weak and strong hearts, because it carries one thing: the promise of death if you disappoint her.
Background/history
Tori was born the child to two philosophers who didn't believe in any god, but instead that the world ebbed and flowed with its own energy, an energy that every being possessed, simply known as Aura among humans and Lifestream among planets; they had discovered that a human could be born without Aura, and completely lack the ability to do magics of any sort; but that if the planet lost this energy, it would die completely. Weapons/Fighting style
Tori has a strange fighting style tailored to fit her own abilities, stuck in the middle of melee combat and magic. While manipulating spirit energy counts as magic, Tori uses it to empower her attacks and irritate open wounds, and can even charge up miniature missiles of sorts, although this longer-distance combat isn't her forte, not even close.
