“Yea, maybe something’s come up and she has to come pick me up. Even though I could just walk home.” Cleo mumbled out as she called her sister back and was surprised when the call was answered immediately. “Cleo?” A masculine sounding woman spoke from the other side. “Ryan, what’s...” Cleo was interrupted by the other woman “Cleo, I’m going to be brief, no beating around the bush and joking with you like I usually do, just promise me you won’t... freak out, Kay?” Ryan asked from the other side with a tone of worry sown into her voice, and maybe fear as well which made Cleo even more anxious about this whole situation. So she listened and whatever she heard wasn’t visible to the detective, but Maya could see the three second delayed reaction in which her face contorted into an expression that showed fear, grief, and complete disbelief sowed in with invisible stitches. It was then that the phone in her hand slid out and clattered onto the floor as she continued to sit there without moving or speaking.
