"Yes, but I suspect she wouldn't appreciate being called such," he answered. "Cobalt, could you fetch her? I have to show Miss Walters a few more things."
Cobalt nodded curtly before turning about and heading for a closed door near Obsidian's quarter doors. He disappeared behind it, leaving Obsidian to take the girl and steer her towards the quarterdeck. It sat atop Obsidian's quarters, a staircase on either side of the ship.
"You'll likely be spending most of your time up here," he told Sophy, leading the way up the stairs carefully. There, the wind was a little more fierce now that they were unprotected by the raised platform.
Other than the ships wheel, crates, and the mizzenmast, the quarterdeck was mostly empty. The crew hardly went up there, their duties kept to the lower deck.
"Here, I'll have you finish up some mundane, tedious tasks. Just to keep an eye on you," his voice was lackadaisical. He nodded at the man currently steering the ship, a man with a mighty beard as red as his hair. He had a scar across his left cheek, the soft edges telling just how violent the recieving of it had been.
