Fantasy Lost in Noir

Ari glanced around at all the hi-tech things and let out a low whistle. This place was the physical manifestation of the future it seemed.

"The cells are co-ed and since you all are a rather small group, you'll share the same cell." Cyrus explained boredly as he pressed in a ten digit code number to open one rather large cells lined with bunkbeds , a sink and solitary toilet and a stack of pillows and comforters. "One more will be joining." He mentioned as he led them into the cell. After locking in he went back to a cell not far down the line and looked in. "Aria, you're being moved." He said unlocking it. Cyrus had a twisted little soft spot for the girl. She had been the only survivor of her group by sheer luck due to some malfunction with the machinery and even better she was in denial which made it even better.

Aria's haunted brown eyes looked up at the man. "Cyrus, where am I going?" She asked nervously, swallowing back fear. She had watched the last of her group die last month, she had gotten used to being alone, why were they moving her now?!

"There are more prisoners that just arrived today. You'll be going with them through the experiments." He explained, gingerly stroking her hair with a happy smile." This time, there won't be any mistake so you won't be alone." Cyrus replied." Isn't that great?"

"Please sir, keep me in this cell! I don't want to be surrounded by people! Please, just keep me here!" Aria was afraid they would kill her, because she was small and weak and they were strong and insane. "I don't want to die Cyrus!!" She knew all too well she couldn't change the man's mind, but she had to try at least! She didn't belong with those people! She just didn't! Tear filled up in Aria's eyes. She didn't want to die.

Biting back his laughter he lead her to the other cell." They aren't as hostile as your last group. The only ones to look out for are Akio, Dmitrii, and Harley in my opinion. Otherwise you're safe. Make friends quickly." He said, locking the cell after he left.

Dmitrii watched as a new girl was added to their cell as he scrambled to the top of one of the three person bunk beds. He stood up on it and looked down at the large room and then up at the high ceiling that he couldn't even touch from the highest point in the room. "Hey, what's you name?"He asked, seemingly to no one in particular.

"Yes sir..." Aria said sadly, watching Cyrus walk away. He was the only person she had met here that actually somewhat liked her. She didn't know what she would do without him supervising. Quietly she climbed into the second bunk under a thuggish looking boy. When she heard him ask for her name, she answered timidly. "I'm a-Aria..."

Evangeline looked at the Aria and smiled happily, "HELLO~ The name's evangeline. Nice to meet you."

Running her fingers through her hair she gave a smile to the tiny girl.

Aria ran though the people she should avoid in her mind. Evengeline wasn't one of them, at least, she didn't remember Cyrus saying so. This girl was the first nice person besides Cyrus to talk to her. Besides, she was pretty. She didn't meet people who were pretty that often at all. Just scary people. "Nice to meet you too..."

Evangeline giggled, "So... Are we suppose to stay here?"

Not directing the question at anyone Evangeline giggled some more.

"Yes, until...until they send you on a mission." Alia said. What was this girl laughing? Should she be crying that she was here? "Missions...they...they sometimes go wrong." Alia felt obliged to warn this seemingly kind person of the dangers.

"A few times...they haven't sent me on one since-" Alia stopped herself. She didn't want to scare this girl with the horrors she would experience, so she cut herself off.

Evangeline looked at her and chuckled, "I know that is probably worse than death going on those trips. Don't worry about scarring me."

Alia paused. Didn't she know that she was laughing in the face of a fate far worse then death?! "You don't know what I've seen, miss. I-i wouldn't be laughing if I were you." This woman must be insane. That could be the only explanation.

Evangeline stopped smiling and looked at her seriously, "Why you want me to show you this side."

The air around her changed as she showed her true dark side. She smiled so that she could keep the negative energy away from her.

"W-what side?" Alia asked nervously, scooting away from this woman slightly. She didn't want to get hurt.

Alia hands shook. "O-okay." Her brown eyes darted around the room. She didn't belong here, with these people.

"How did you get here?" Alia asked. She wasn't sure she really wanted to know, but curiosity got the better of her.
