Multiple Settings - Looking for a Roleplay Partner -

NGC 660

Particularly Inquisitive
Hey there! You can call me Six, and I'm new to RPNation. I'm currently looking for a semi-versatile roleplay partner (doesn't have to be long-term), who is willing to learn, grow, and work as a team. It'd be great if we could have some sort of conversation outside of the roleplay; I'm okay with small talk, squealing over fandoms or political/deep conversations. I'm not just here to grab you and leave, but make a friend along the way. I'm open to a majority - if not all genres - as long as they follow the website's guidelines and are original in some shape or form. So, this means no kinky sex or fetishes. Clean romance is fine, but don't expect it to be the spotlight of the roleplay.

WHAT TO EXPECT/EXPECTATIONS

Content - I do prefer dark/mature and realistic roleplays. I like thinking about the morality (or immorality) behind situations and I like feeling an impact if something goes wrong. Actions need to have consequences, whether it be emotionally, physically or spiritually.

Response Length - In terms of response length, you set the tone. Obviously, my minimum is a consistent 2-3 line response (1 full line if necessary), but beyond that, I'll do my best to mirror your expectations. However, a warning for the future, I am only human. How quickly I burn out is determined by how long your response is. If it takes me two hours to meet your 4000-word response, then expect that I will need breaks and that, over time, the quality may decrease as my stamina runs out.

* This is all reliant on the amount of information that's in the reply. If I find that your 4000-5000 response length is just full of purple prose and offers very little in terms of actual, tangible content, I won't be doing the same. However, if it's a 4000-5000 WC and you've taken the time to trim the fat and give me the glorious, marbled steak underneath, I will absolutely respect the length and give you the same effort in return. *

Wait Time - My response time ranges from a few minutes to an hour or two (depending on how long your reply is). This is including how long it takes me to type everything out, how long it takes me to think about my response/next steps, and how long it takes me to edit. I don't like half-assing things.

Content Warning - You will get action, swearing, gore, depictions of death and may face other difficult subjects. If there's something you're not comfortable with, let me know.

Teamwork - I want us to work as a team. I hate being the only one dragging the roleplay along and being the only one coming up with ideas, and I don't expect you to do so either. We're in this together bb.

Grammar/Spelling - I consider roleplaying to be similar to writing the first draft of a novel - there will be mistakes and there will be inconsistencies. However, I want your responses to be, at the very least, understandable and applied with very basic grammatical rules in mind. Know where to put punctuation, capitalize your 'I's wherever necessary, etc.

Character Forms - I hate character forms. The fact that I know as much as you do before going into a roleplay ruins the fun in my eyes and destroys the illusion of discovery. I want to unfold it all for myself. Later on though, if you feel that I know a good chunk about your character already and you still want to show me their form, then absolutely. Go right ahead; I'd be more than happy to take a look. Otherwise though, keep it a secret from me.

Planning Time - I'm willing to take as much time and detail as you'd like to plan the roleplay if you don't already have an idea. I love world building (when the genre demands it). If you want to keep it simple, that's fine too. Whatever you're comfortable with.

POV - I write in third person only. First and second POV makes me uncomfortable. Though, if you want to write in first person, I'm perfectly fine with that. Just - for the love of God, no second POV.

Schedule - I run off of EDT. I'm normally on from 1:00 pm to 3:00 am at the latest. On Wednesdays, I'm on at 4-5:00 pm.

GENRE CATEGORIES

EXPERIENCED

Sci-fi
Hard Science Fiction
Horror
Mystery
Cyberpunk
(Post) Apocalyptic
Thriller
Military Fiction

INEXPERIENCED

Action
Steampunk
Dark Fantasy
Military Non-Fiction
Historical Fiction
Historical Non-Fiction
Urban Fantasy
Western
Lovecraftian Horror

*Just because I'm inexperienced with a genre doesn't mean I hate it. Most of the time it's simply because I haven't found the right moment to incorporate it into my own writing. In fact, there are a few titles in there that I love. If there's a genre within that category that you adore and are absolutely desperate to satisfy, I am more than willing to learn as long as long as you're willing to be patient with me and teach me the ropes.*

CONVINCE ME

Romance
Slice of Life/Modern
High Fantasy
*These are genres that I'm a bit cautious at approaching. It's rare that I get a craving for them, and 99% of the time I've found I get bored of them disturbingly fast. However, if you feel that your idea is that 1% that doesn't make me slam my head against a wall, go ahead and sell it to me. You never know, you might be the person to get me obsessed.*

MY ONLY RULE

BE. OPEN. If you want to drop the roleplay, if you're uncomfortable with something, if you need a break, or if you have an idea, let me know bb. I'm here to listen to you just as much as I hope you'd listen to me.

IF YOU HAVE NOT RESPONDED WITHIN TWO WEEKS, I WILL CONSIDER THE ROLEPLAY TERMINATED UNLESS YOU HAVE A VERY SPECIFIC REASON WHY YOU WERE INCAPABLE OF WARNING ME OF YOUR ABSENCE!

- DON'T GHOST. TELL THE HOST -

If you'd like to have a chat before deciding whether or not you want to roleplay with me, that's perfectly fine. My inbox is always open!
If you have a proposition or a prompt idea, I'd prefer it as a direct message.
Feel free to ask me anything as a post below.
I also have Discord.

Hello, friend. I'm currently in the search of a quality roleplay partner. Being as selfish as I am, I only really roleplay on Discord. It's just a preference thing. Luckily, I see that you use Discord! My account is new, and I would have sent this through a DM, but apparently I don't have that option yet. I'd like to talk on Discord and maybe pitch an idea to you. I 100% agree with the 'character forms' point. I also believe that it applies to starters, depending on the situation. Can you perhaps send a DM to me with your Discord tag so I can get in contact with you? Thanks.

yo! I read through all of that and it sounds p good. I just joined a couple days back but i've been rping on discord for a couple of years. I usually go semi-literate, with one solid paragraph or so (i only type carelessly ooc- i hate bad grammar, spelling, etc) and i'm into most of the genres you mentioned. getting a friend to rp with would be p great so... if i meet your standards please just shoot me a dm. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unfortunately, I'm unable to DM either of you. I'm three away from getting to the 10 message minimum requirement (I wish they counted private messages but I guess they don't), so! For the sake of simplicity, I'll just paste my discord tag in the original post. ;D Hope to hear from you both soon!

I am in fact interested in working something out for horror, post-apocalyptic and possibly mystery. Might even throw in Thriller and Action because I'm feeling a little generous.
