Hi all,
Like the title says, I'm new to STing Exalted. My first game is taking place in a slightly altered Creation and my first question is about a character's signature weapon. The ST who introduced me to exalted is playing a Twilight Caste combat sorcerer.
Long story short(end a little), he suggested a grand daiklave with the spell cord power from RoGD 3. I thought, as the game is very epic, that I could tie its story to his exaltation's history. This is what I came up with.
During the Primordial War a Solar Exalt named Therion-Po faced off against Verdant Corrosion the Primordial father of the element Vitriol. Using all the sorcery at his disposal the Primordial inflicted all manner of corruption and taint upon the forces arrayed against him. His unholy visage corroded the will and body alike, his words ruptured sworn oaths, turning brother against brother and the toxicity of his breath putrefied even the truest of love. The battle surged back and forth for so long that Therion-Po came to the end of his extreme puissance. To allow the forces of the Gods to rest he ordered a retreat that they would make new weapons and tactics to confront the strong backbone of the Primordial’s defense.
It was arduously determined that one precise blow could cause Verdant Corrosion to reel long enough to be bound, if only Therion-Po could get close enough to deliver the solar strike. A weapon was forged using all the genius available, a massive Grand Daiklave of adamant, orichalcum and crystal impregnated with essence circuitry to catch and hold the pattern of any sorcery and an edge keen enough to sever the strongest spells. Once forged, Spellbinder was placed at the focus of a great solar sorcery. Therion-Po’s Circle, working together cast a spark of the divine solar flame into the blade.
Surging once more into battle Therion-Po deflected spell after spell, working his way ever closer to the dread Primordial’s acidic heart. In the final moment, Verdant Corrosion’s defenses lapsed unexpectedly. Confused but elated, Therion-Po drove Spellbinder in to the hilt and triggered the spark. Laughing, the Primordial said “It Has Begun†and cast one final spell. As the solar fire burst to life, Therion-Po used the last ounce of his strength to wrest Spellbinder out of the wound and into the path of the sorcery. The block was perfect but the corrosive power of the elemental blood had eroded Spellbinder’s edge, permanently dulling its effects on the most potent spells. Momentarily distracted by the blade’s unexpected behavior, Therion-Po did manage to catch the spell but at a horrible price. Defenses low, he was bathed in the heart blood that gushed from the burning wound. The Primordial fell, not slain, but endlessly burning, and was bound as the Green Sun when Malfeas was formed. Therion-Po suffered an abomidably, riddled with doubt his body and mind rotted gradually away. He lived out his centuries a heroic veteran of the First War, and a terrifying reminder that victory has its price.
Spellbinder
Artifact 5 or NA?
-Sapphire Circle Counter-magic, 15 or 20m.
-Sorcery Capturing Cord, the artifact 5 version with only 2 “slots†available and only for terrestrial and celestial circles.
-Liger’s Last Laugh, the spell that occupies the entirety of the Spellbinder’s solar circle capacity.
-Can Parry Sorcery but not charms, thaumaturgy or any other magic.
So I'd like some feedback on Spellbinder, help stating it out, whether it's would be unbalanced...stuff like that. I'd also like some ideas for Liger's Last Laugh. I know that it is a Very Bad Thing but some specifics might be nice. I don't expect the player to unleash it right away or anything but knowing what it is before he does would be good.
Thanks in advance and be sure that I'll post a horde of other questions as time allows.
