THE NITTY GRITTY
below i will expand on the rules listed above. while i may seem very stringent on some rules, it's only so those who are undeniably compatible reach out to me. the number of stars next to each category will show how important these are to me
OOC ★★★
i absolutely wholeheartedly LOOOOVE chitchat outside of rp. it makes me indescribably happy to make friends while working creatively with someone. it's the best way to ensure my interest in our plot (i have waited through 7+ month long hiatus due to having a good friendship with my partner) and it's honestly just fun to make friends online with similar interests.
i'm pretty unserious and silly outside of rp and love to make jokes, send tiktoks, and just get to know you and all your eccentricities. because of how active i am ooc, i primarily use discord to communicate. if you love to talk ooc, there's an 80% chance, we'll be a good match !!
good ooc also means we're able to share ideas easily. if you're indecisive or generally just unable to talk to me about plot, we definitely won't make a good match
LITERACY ★★½
quick guide to definitions:
☆ illiterate: ≤1k characters, ~100 words
☆ semi-lit: 1k–2k characters, 100-200 words
☆ literate: 2k–4k characters, 300-500 words
☆ adv. literate: 4k-6k characters, 500-1.5k words
☆ novella: ≥6k characters, ≥1.5k words
while there are about a billion definitions for what literacy is in the rp community, for me, literacy means your storytelling ability. i'm much more likely to vibe with a semi-lit writer who's effortlessly able to explore character dynamics & move the plot forward than an adv. lit writer who just pads their replies with big words. i'm most comfortable between the literate & adv. literate.
i honestly don't do illiterate or novella-length narratives as both are either too bare bones or too slow-moving to be fun. when i'm looking for partners, i want to find other writers who find joy in weaving characters into interesting situations, whether that be explorations of a fantasy concept, complex dramas, or entertaining slice-of-life narratives.
SETTING & GENRE ★★
i'm a fan of exploring many different genres & settings. i'm open to hearing about diverse settings that aren't typically roleplayed in. if you wanna set things in rural guatemala or a tiny greek town, i'd be down. i'm a big fan of city settings and areas with unique cultural influences so places like large american cities, central america, south america, swana countries, the middle east and the caribbean are my strong suit.
i'm open to most genres. i probably only draw a hard line at high fantasy, high sci-fi, anything high school related, and anything that's sorta generic royalty/kingdom vibes. i love drama, i love conflict, i love morally gray characters and putting our characters through dilemmas that transform them. i enjoy both realistic fiction as well as some fantasy narratives, though i tend to like urban fantasy stories or realistic plots with some fantasy flavor rather than straight fantasy.
i'm a BIIIIIIG fan of other time periods. my favorite are the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s :3 it's been a minute since i did anything outside of the 20th century but i could be convinced if i fw the plot
for most of my rps, i really enjoy a mix of humor and tragedy/realistic moments. both of these elements reinforce one another to make a unique vibe that feels much realer than some other approaches to rp. when tackling dark subject matter (crime, drug use, societal issues, etc), i expect maturity and not to lean into tired tropes
CHARACTERS ★★★
I LOVE STRANGE MFS!!!!!! i love when characters have their own eccentricities that make them feel real. i love when characters come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, or places. i can also vibe with monster/nonhuman characters sometimes.
when creating a character, i go for fairly relaxed planning process. rather than creating long character sheets and such, i often create a shared google doc and a pinterest board where we put images, little notes, etc together until we both have a mutual understanding of the characters after building them up together. it's honestly more fun than making sheets :3
for faceclaims, i either use a description or realistic photographs. i don't like anime, picrew, artbreeder, or cartoonish fcs. while i embrace making fanart and such later in our plot for fun, whenever i use a faceclaim, it's gonna be a photograph. if your fc is some ultra-pretty instagram model or some random eighteen-year-old off of tiktok, i'm probably not gonna vibe with that either unfortunately
if you're interested in seeing my previous characters and an example of a collaborative planning document, visit this link here :3
RELATIONSHIPS & ROMANCE ★★
i enjoy both romantic and platonic plots. being that i'm queer, most of my characters are too. i enjoy both mlm and wlw stories. sometimes i'll do straight pairings but this is less common. i'm open to anything from domestic bliss to a completely toxic clusterfuck for romantic plots. both should be treated with care, nuance, and maturity. i'm more open to slowburn than immediate connections.
PACE ★½
please don't feel pressured to pump out replies every day. if you talk to me ooc (even if its not about plot stuff), it's like a 90% guarantee that i'll wait a while. the frequency i post at is pretty dependent on how interested i am on the plot. i'm usually active to sit and talk but since my writing is usually several paragraphs, that is more time-consuming. the more ooc we engage usually means the more frequently i'll post
THAT'S IT !!
thank you to those who took the time to read my entire post. if you're interested, PLEASE send me a private message. my dms have been drier than dry so i'm very eager to meet others. please tell me your name, age, and a possible idea/concept you wanna do :3 if you have discord, please include your username in your message so i can message you on there. thanks again and i hope to hear from some of yall soon < 333
