Ninelle (#54d1b0)
- There was indeed some truth to Deliverance's ever logical words. But equating Farah's situation with such an analogy seemed a bit... hm. It felt like he was oversimplifying things? Ninelle only grew more perplexed the more she thought about it, so she could only cast the matter aside temporarily.
Still, Ninelle found herself growing more puzzled the more she learnt about Deliverance, or well, the more she heard him speak, so much so that she almost wanted to just dig at his brain to see what was inside. But, she was logical enough to know that now wasn't the time for that sort of irrelevant interrogation. Until the child was saved, the heart was destroyed and they were outside again safe and sound... she would hold her curiosity back.
Watching the elf step atop the woven platform, Farah seemed thoughtful for a moment, deliberating something before she suddenly spoke up. "...May I ride as well?" She inquired cautiously, just before the little fairy took off. "Oh, sure." Though surprised by the question, Ninelle quickly replied with a little nod, allowing the phoenix to step on before cautiously flying onward. At first, she merely practiced lifting herself off the ground and moving side to side to test the stability, but before long, she was off, slowly fluttering over the bridge across to their destination.
How to say it... it was kind of... fun. Though she never got a chance to ride one, Ninelle mentally equated the experience with driving a toy race car with two passengers in the back. It was amusing and not that tiresome at all... or at least, that's what she was trying to brainwash herself with in order to ignore the sickness rising in her stomach. It was very gradual, almost imperceptibly so, but Ninelle was unaware that she was slowly lowering herself as time went on, growing closer and closer to the ice bridge below as the nausea caught up with her.
Not all was well in that expansive cavern either. A familiar, frightening hum suddenly rose in volume, piercing both Ninelle and Deliverance's ears as they realized what it meant. Above the platform they were headed towards, two sentries suddenly glowed white and made themselves known, their whole bodies visible due to Farah's bright and warm golden light. Stationed on either side of the roof, and hanging upside down from the ceiling, their heads spun maniacally as they charged their cores. Alarmingly however, something was different. The volume was rising too rapidly, and the light was brightening too quickly. Before any of them knew it, the lasers had already been shot, and were each flying straight towards Deliverance and Farah respectively.
Farah remained calm. There was little time to explain or do anything, but with a sudden flare of orange light something materialized before the phoenix, a magma-coloured orb that trembled and floated before her. With a swish of her wings, the orb was sent into Deliverance's hands. But before he could process the matter, Farah then pressed a wing to the elf's back, causing a ripple of blazing mana to invade his body and engulf the scholar's own. "Channel what I have given you, and show me your magic." Was all she said, flicking her gaze back to the incoming laser beams.
