Hello everyone! How´s it going?

So, guess what´s coming up?

Close, but it´s actually Halloween. So, as many others, I thought I´d make a Halloween-themed roleplay. Now, after thinking short and soft about this , I decided to combine a few things in the making of an interesting RP.
​

So, first things first, the basic plot:
​

A group of people in Halloween costumes (likely children, but that will be open for discussion) enter a haunted mansion and spend the night there... Nothing happens. But as they come out, they find themselves in the ruins of the city/town they lived in and that horrifying things haunted the day-less skies... And themselves.
​

I am planning to make this a relatively short RP (about a month long, possibly extended to up to two months), as I want this to be a seasonal RP. Of course, once the RP is over, feel free to use the characters made in it and even the universe set up for it as you wish.
​

Roles, rules and mechanics will personalized to better fit the length of the RP in contrast to the individual schedules of the RPers.
​

Lastly, characters and plot will be influenced by two things: music and games. Each character and plot arc will have a song to fit it and which will likely provide clues (in the case of the plot). There will also be a game side of it which will ensure things only last the time that is set. Of course, it´s only a game OOC: your character will feel it deep in them just how real it can be. *evil laugh*

A few points of clarification.


1- when you say each character and plot arc fits a song could you please provide an example? Am I meant to pick these songs myself? Are you giving me a song and I'm building a character around that?


2-what do you mean a game side? Is this a dice or stat system? Will it be like a quest or pick an adventure roleplay? Or is it like with the songs and I either have to pick a real life game/you assign me a game and I fit that into the roleplay/my character?

1- You will be picking your own songs for your characters, and building characters around them. As long as I see a strong connection between music and character, then that part is A ok.


to give an example that is relatively easy to understand, I may use something like this










and base the arc around a pyromaniac chasing after the main characters. It will usually be complex than that, as I may try to follow more complex lyrics to make the beats of an arc, but I hope this example helps clarify.


2- there will be neither a dice nor stat system. One plan I was thinking of implementing was having one player selected as soon as the characters leave the mansion, and PM the owner telling them their character is now infected. Upon a certain trigger that I will explain to the person, they could infect someone else, until everyone is infected.


For example, I could make it a werewolf infection and have any time the two characters are together, the infection would spread to the non-infected character.


There could also be parts which more reassemble forum games, like say IC two characters are being attacked by a monster and the survivor will be the one that can name the most countries in 2 minutes or something.


3 and 4- because the time of this RP is meant to be limited, I will contact all those interested and try to adjust mechanics and rules for every person to allow them to always roleplay with the best efficiency, while not creating too much pressure on the schedules which I expect are generally pretty busy.

Okay thanks for the explanations  this reminds me of a old roleplay I did that was super fun - it was battle royals but a similar concept.


ill see if I can't find the song I used for that character. 


Or or at least the band as that character might be a tiny bit ... um dark for kids based story.


do we just submit our song and character concept to you or post them here?

hmm...should I make a hosted project? The beneficts are obvious, you don´t need to wait around to have tabs attached and you can add images in certain stuff and edit permissions (really useful by the way) for particular things....but then again, this RP isn´t meant to last that long.

If you plan on making it a yearly thing than I would. And it actually offers you the option of allowing the roleplay to be broken up into different threads. Like one quick thread for people who can post daily or multiple times a day AND a slower thread for people who can only maybe post a few times a week.

Also would there be a  way to get like a playlist of potential song ideas? lol i am waaay more of a tv girl than a music girl. i listen to.... like the radio on the way home but that's about it.
