A charmingly small town, most people there are either strange or... worse.

​

Some, just a handful, stay close together. It's like they live in their own exclusive group. These people are stunning, they're like flowers. Even the men can only be described as beautiful simply because of their utter perfection.

​

A few odd observations can be made about these people.

​

They dress conservatively, as if they're afraid of showing off their bodies.

​

They hardly ever show up to school, but when they do, they excel far beyond what could be expected of average high school students.

​

They don't like being touched.

​

They tend to hate arguments. Maybe they're afraid of it getting physical.

​

They never lose their reserved personality. Well, not never. Around each other they appear truly happy.

​

No one knows where they live.

Some think they're secret agents tracking down a student in Ligonier High. Some people think they're a social experiment that uses models. But many think these people are vampires.

[Reine]

Nachetanya sat up in her bed and slid out, her feet hitting the floor with a soft noise. She opened her bedroom door and walked out. A crack of light was showing through the curtains. Seeing no one, she called out, "Is anyone awake yet?" Most of them had gone to sleep around five in the morning. She'd only gotten a few hours of sleep, but she was particularly hungry. If she had to think hard about how long it had been since she'd eaten, it was too long. After a while she would become lethargic, and she heard about those that became so tired they couldn't move. And they died that way, too tired to open their eyes.


It was a Saturday, so she didn't have to go to school. Not that she usually did, anyway. Slipping out of the house, she realized she was barefoot, but really didn't care. Walking along the road, she eventually entered the city limits and came to a popular, quaint neighborhood. It wasn't surprising that most were asleep, but the problem was finding someone in the sleeping town.

Ai had woken up extra early today, accidentally thinking to herself that it was a week day. She slid out of bed yawning, and did a few jumps to wake herself up fully. After quietly steeping downstairs, she threw her tote bag on, and had barely made it outside of the front door before realizing her mistake. Sliding off the tote bag, she let it sit on the stoop of the front door before walking into town. Maybe there will be a good selection of fruits this morning! She couldn't help but close her eyes and smile at the thought of fresh fruit from the locals. Entering the square, she noted that there was a surprisingly small amount of people considering the time of day. She started to look around at all the people, looking for a fruit stand or something offering substance.

Japar


Jaspar was sitting in the midst of the neighborhood, under a tree. Being daytime, the sun really started to wear down on his happiness whenever he was caught out in it.


He slid himself slightly backwards to maintain a full coverage of shade, while still being able to watch people in the neighborhood. He saw a girl with white hair star walking around, and looking around at different people.


I wonder what she's up to? He kept his eyes locked onto her, curious about her motions. After a minute or so of watching, he let out a small yawn. I best not skip another day of sleep!

Out of the corner of her eye she saw Jaspar, looking at the human.


Like hell, she thought. She was young, a female, so she would put up less of a fight, and on top of that she might recognize her from the high school.


Shooting Jaspar a wink, and not really caring if he saw it, she approached the girl-what was her name again? Started with an A. Aya, or something. Nachetanya approached her cheerfully.


"Hey! I know you from school. It's kind of empty, huh?" The girl pretended to be nervous and said, "I just wanted to say, actually, that I thought you were really pretty. And I wanted to know if you dated girls." She almost laughed at her words, which sounded so strange coming out of her mouth.

Ai saw the girl approach and suppressed a hmm, thinking that she had seen this girl somewhere. As the girl stepped closer the though of from school disappeared and she almost thought this girl was from a magazine or somewhere. She smiled when the girl... Nachet...Nachetanya! started to talk about school. "Yeah! It's surprisingly lonely out here." She looked around to see how few people there even were. She heard the compliment and snapped back to look at the girl, "Thanks! You're gorgeous yourself!" Her eyes opened a little, shocked by the sudden advance, "Well... I've never really tried, so I don't suppose I know." The aura that the girl emit made Ai just continue smiling, as she seemed so kind. "It's nice to have such kind people around here! I'm glad I got to meet you out of class. Do you have plans for today?"

Jaspar


Jaspar saw Nachetanya send him a wink, and couldn't help but to roll his eyes. He slowly stood himself up, and stretched out.


Despite hating the sunlight raining on his skin, he decided some conversation may be nice.


He watched the two talk for a few moments, then slowly started to walk over to the two girls.


He remembered seeing the girl speaking to Nachetanya before in the hallways of the school, but before now he didn't much care to learn her name.


Well, I suppose we have a friendly competition now!


He rolled his shoulders and walked up next to the two.


"Hello ladies! Beautiful day isn't it?"

"That would be incredible! I mean..." She smiled. "If that was you asking me if you wanted to do something with me." She thought about it for a moment before saying, "Would it be okay if we go back to my house first? You don't have to, but I wanted to see if you could meet my friends. We all live together, see." There was no taking it back. Either way, it would have to happen. If she saw where they lived...


Jaspar came over and said something of a greeting. She grinned at the boy, never breaking her act.


"Jaspar! It's great to see you!" It wasn't like they lived together or anything. Each word was like a bite masked with happiness. "Love, this is Ai." Ai! That was it. "She's mine, so if you can't touch her." It was a way of showing her true feelings, while pretending to be lovestruck.

Ai blushed, surprised that she couldn't be as straight forward as Nachetanya had been to her. She nodded when proposed going to Nachetanya's house, "Yeah! It'd be great to meet more people! Not that you aren't fun, I'm just sure your friends would enjoy some time out as a group as well! That's awesome that you live together, I'm sure it makes your friendships super close!" She jumped slightly when Jaspar spoke, not initially seeing him. When Nachetanya spoke an introduction, Ai turned bright red, happy that she had already made two friends for the day.

Jaspar couldn't help but to play along with Nachetanya's game, and he managed to put a small smile on his face during the introduction.


He had to contain himself at the way that she was introducing Ai, as the whole plan seemed like Ai would know better.


Jaspar pat Nachetanya on the back and made himself appear enthused, "Nice to meet you Ai. I'm Jaspar! I'm sorry you had to meet this silly bean so early in the day."


As he spoke, he tried to make Nachetanya start to display a fun side, to make Ai even happier.


"Perhaps your little lovebird has bonds she would wish to make with others? She seems free willed and a happy spirit!"

Pretending not to hear Jaspar, she grabbed Ai's hand and pulled her down the road.


"It's just a little ways away. I'm so glad you could come!" The girl gave a smaller smile, seeming to genuinely appreciate her accompaniment. As she walked, she didn't look at Jaspar, afraid of betraying some sort of emotion to Ai. She appeared happy, but not as elated as when they first met. Nachetanya spoke up to ask, "We should see each other more often."


She began to form some sort of plan. In the cases that the human didn't agree to be a host, they were either let go and assumed to be insane, or killed.

Ai tripped at first, not realizing that Nachetanya was moving. She looked back towards Jaspar, extending her arm slightly, inviting him to come with. Looking down at her feet, Ai was shocked at how quick a pace they were all walking. She noticed herself falling slightly behind, despite the pull, and quickened her pace. "Sounds good! I've never really been over to this side of town... Everyone always says that it seems different. It's such a silly thing to say! You both seem so nice."

Jaspar


Jaspar was shocked at how quickly Nachetanya seemed to be dragging the human girl away from him. Usually she would at least let him partake in some sort of cat and mouse game, or something of the sort. He saw Ai move her and, and quickly realized that she was extending her whole arm towards him. "Looks like we get to all run around like a train car." He accepted the offer and grabbed her hand loosely, not wanting to harm her in any way. Upon hearing the compliment, he couldn't help but to chuckle, "People say many silly things in life. Sometimes the silliness is well deserved, other times it prevents lifelong friendships."

She laughed as if she thought that was ridiculous. "That's nothing new. I've also heard that we're vampires." It was a dangerous thing to say, but it just came out. She pulled back her lip to expose her perfectly dull teeth. "Yeah, must've gotten that idea from our teeth." She smiled kindly, joking about it. "Well, good thing you don't listen to that foolishness." It was a very, very, good thing.

Ai furrowed her brows slightly at the mention of vampires, "Surely that wouldn't be true. Aren't they just maniacs that destroy everything, and everyone, around?" She burst into laugher when Nachetanya bore her teeth, "ooooh, watch out! Someone may dislike you and say they saw fangs or something!" She was happy to have people to joke about the rumors with.

 

[Reine]

She struggled to keep her smile. "Yeah." The house came into view and her eyes lit up. It was a large brick structure, which she'd come to know and love. The girl let go of her hand to run up to the steps, her bare feet making little noise on the grass and twigs. She held the door open for Ai and Jasper, the inside of the house shrouded by darkness.

Jaspar


Jaspar followed the two girls back to the house, mainly paying attention to the nature, and a few random birds. When they arrived, he noted Ai's hesitance, but decided to not take any actions upon it. He saw Nachetanya run a head to open the door, and followed Ai inside. Jaspar nodded his thanks when Nachetanya held the door open, in order to seem nonchalant, then took a step to be alongside the door.

Ai looked around, then felt her hand emptied from Nachetanya running to the door. She stopped for a moment, not knowing if she should wait outside, but then was reassured by Nachetanya to journey into the house. She shivered at first from seeing the dark, but closed her eyes and took a step in. After all, doesn't everything start with a step into the dark? Ai waited fro Jaspar and Nachetanya to join inside.

Damian

A corpse sat in front of Damian. Why do humans always have the urge to continue the meager existence even though they recognize their own mortality? He thought, really though it was him going through a Nietzsche phase. The man in front of him was a pervert of some obviousness. He haunted the one gay bar in all of Liongnier like some sort of gross fifty-year-old leering Spector. No one would notice this man’s absence. No one worth giving a damn about anyways. At least Damian ate to survive, this man who time ravaged probably had more sins racked up in his meager excuse for a life than two centuries of Damian’s. He took out his knife and cut a triangle on the man’s chest. A vampire might recognize the work; a cop might be properly confused.


As he left the abandoned church he said a small little prayer for the man’s soul. It was Daman’s custom. He had a new fashion as he grew older, something he enjoyed greatly, entering into one of these vampire infested small towns and watching it all collapse. Maybe when he goes in later tomorrow for his first day as the new Student he will get to see it in action.

Jaspar found himself surprised that Nachetanya was able to lure such an innocent being to the house so quickly, usually people at least fought back a little, or pretended to have a chore to run for their family. He'd also never seen someone silly enough to completely ignore the thought of vampires... Perhaps him being one was a cause of that. He slid off his shows, manners kicking in despite knowing that he would probably have to leave the house in a few moments time. He yawned slightly, wondering to himself if he should go to bed despite how late it was. I need to keep up on my beauty sleep!

As soon as Ai took a step inside, her phone started to ring. She went to put it on silent, but saw it was her parents that were calling. "I'll be... Right back!" She slid back outside of the door, continuing her conversation with her parents. After a minute long conversation of trying to convince her parents she didn't need to return home, she turned back to Nachetanya and Jaspar. "I really apologize, but I've been called to go back home. I just have to help my parents out with some yard work. I'll give my phone number to you so we can meet later today!" She pulled a small note pad from her pocket, quickly scribbling her phone number down before ripping the paper free and handing it to Nachetanya. "I'll see y'all in a bit!" She took off in a sprint back towards her house. 'Hopefully I don't meet anyone else on the way home!'
