However, when she turned three, her mother married again and Katie got a stepfather. She grew up relatively normal. She was an outgoing person, always trying to help everyone and making friends quickly. But already since kindergarten was she friends with one boy, that lived near her. His name was Maxwell, he was the same age as her.
It started going downhill when Katie turned 13. Soon, her stepfather started acting weird towards her. He tried to abuse her multiple times, however never going all the way. It was still enough to leave behind serious scars. Katie kept to herself, but her best friend Maxwell soon noticed something changed. He managed to have her talk about it to a teacher, as her mother knew about the incidents, yet did not act. Soon, she was taken from her home, but Maxwell´s mother, who was also divorced, managed to get the right of care. She from then on lived with Maxwell. A year later, when Maxwell´s father was driving him home to his mother after the boy had spend the weekend with his father, the two got in a car accident. Both died. Katie with that lost the most important person in her live, another big scar. She oftenly thought about killing herself, but never did. Instead, she got her tattoo, when she was 16. Recently, to get away from all the bad memories and maybe get some fresh air, she applied for the Lilyrose Academy and got accepted.

Yasmin found herself falling for Justin, despite their obvious differences. Her family wasn't exactly excited she was dating, yet after a few years they as well began to accept him. Just didn't know what he wanted to do in life, and was really just winging it. He made average grades and never truly participated in sports or school events. So it took everyone by shock when Justin joined the army.
Yasmin's family was incredibly displeased, and viewed the war as a terrible inconvenience. She often found herself having to bend her morals and defend Justin, causing tension with her family. Justin left for Basic Training and Yasmin graduated and decided to take a few semesters off while she waited for him to finish training.
When they finally reunited, it was amazing for both of them. Yasmin was proud to call Justin her significant other, and they spent as much time as possible together before he got deployed to Afghanistan. A few weeks into his deployment, Yasmin found out she was pregnant. She wrote a letter to Justin as soon as she found out, but he would never receive the letter. The same day Yasmin learned of her pregnancy, Justin and three other soldiers were killed by an IED.
Yasmin was heartbroken and terrified, she attempted to hide her pregnancy from her family for as long as possible. She had no means of income and she was at rock bottom emotionally. Once her family found out, they shunned her. Yet Justin's family took her in while she got back onto her feet during her pregnancy.
Yasmin birthed a healthy baby boy, and a few onths later she was accepted into Lilyrose academy.

As he entered middle school, he get involved with the wrong crowd. No one was surprised- when a kid comes from such a broken home, what do you expect them to do? By the age of 15, he had already fathered a child, a result of one hazy night at someone's house party. He never had any contact with the mother or his child ever again. Eventually, he was caught selling weed to an undercover cop. He was ordered to pay child support, and had the option of either going on probation for a year, or going to Lilyrose Academy, a more structured educational environment. Though it hurt to leave his hometown and the friends he had for years, he didn't want to go on probation He decided to go to Lilyrose.
