The heaviness in Hayden’s chest grew more substantial as the realization settled in.She was no longer safely tucked in her cozy bed in her apartment in upstate New York. Slowly opening her eyes, she found herself upon the warm silky sand of an unknown beach.

Had it been under different circumstances, Hayden would have gladly welcomed the sound of waves crashing. Unfortunately or fortunately, she was unsure, this had not been the first occurrence. The first, resembled that of a fever dream, but once she awoke back in her bed she realized that was not the case. Hayden closed her eyes, and waited until she had fallen asleep. She awoke once more, tangled in the sheets of her bed where the sound of rain was pattering against her window.
