Lights Out

As the sun set, darkness fell upon the mortal world called Earth. Maelle, who had been watching from the trees, springs into action. The mote door rises as the royal family gets ready for bed. Running swiftly, Maelle lurks in the moving shadow. One could say she's running, but she knows all too well that the Earth beneath her is dangerous. She has her pets carry her body, so she glides across the Earth. The entity makes it just in time and slips through the slight opening between the stone walls and wooden bridge. She did it.

Making sure not to be seen, she explores the castle in order to familiarize herself with her new self-claimed home. Her shadows conceal her as she dances through candle light and slips across rooms. Maelle makes it to the grand ballroom, and looks up to see a huge candelier handing from the ceiling. 'Perfect,' she thinks, and whispers to her pets, ordering them to carry her up to it. As she sits on the swinging light fixture, looking down to the room below her, she hears footsteps. Not thinking anything of it, she merely waits to see who her first victim will be, totally unaware of the fact that the candle she's sitting next to had blown out, creating a dark and ominous feeling to the room.

The young boy lurked out of the main corridor and into the ballroom, where he could've sworn he saw something. The moonlight that shown through the towering, crystaline windows revealed a curious face, wide blue eyes covered by strands of scarlet hair. Pacing towards the centre cautiously, he turned to the left and right, thinking someone was there.

"Hello..?" his anxious voice wavered and echoed across the large room. "Is anybody there?" Puzzled, but slightly less nervous, the boy started to walk about the ballroom, searching behind every pillar and hiding place he knew of. Backing out from underneath a marble table, he called out again. "I know s-someone's in here!"

Although he didn't.

Maelle smirked and whispered to her pets. With one swift gust of darkness, she blew out the candles and descended to the ground level. Although she was concealed by the shadows, hiding in the corner closest to the table, the succubus could definitely be heard. "What's a handsome man such as yourself doing awake at these hours?" she taunted, "You should be getting your beauty sleep, shouldn't you?"

Eyeing the young boy up and down, examining every detail of not only his face, but his body, she gave a promiscuous chuckle. She knew he was easy prey, and he was definitely going to be her way to the throne. Maelle knew what she had to do. "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name."

The young boy jumped and spun around at the voice, catching the sight of an ominous figure in the shadows. He could feel shivers down his spine as the lustrous, almost venomous questions from the stranger were asked. Frozen in place, he could only manage a couple of words. "Well.. I-I um, my name's.."

The boy swallowed, pausing to end his stammering. What's going on? he thought inside, still shaking at the sudden appearance of this visitor. Why am I...? Thoughts trailing off, the boy rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly warm with the rush of blood coming to it.

"My name's Iris... uh, Iris Bellamy.."

Quickly recalling long sessions of greeting guests to their castle, Iris remembered his manners.

"So, what might, um, your name be?"

Maelle allowed her pets to reveal a small portion of her face, her bright red and shiny lips. Casting a sexy and smooth smile Iris' way, she flirted. "Iris, that's a wonderful name." She let her eyes lock with the boy's, even though he couldn't see her's just yet.

"Iris... To match those beautiful blue eyes of yours," she pondered, staring deep into his eyes. After about a minute of this, she decided to walk forward. Letting the shadows reveal her, Maelle stepped forward and extended her arm to the boy. She smiled as she placed her hand on his neck, staring at his lips. Maelle could smell the lust on him, after all she was standing naked in front of the teenage boy. Not fully naked, no, that would be coming on too strong. Her pets swirled around her body, just barely covering up her chest and bottom. After examining his lips, she shifted her gaze back up to Iris' eyes.

Iris continued to be frozen in place. Feeling the cold, long fingers on his neck made his skin tingle as he breathed hard. His heart jumped frantically inside his chest, something dominant, something lustrous started burning like fire. He knew that his face was fully red now, and couldn't help but stare at the girl, almost sick with love. Was this love? he wondered, his eyes still locked with hers.

Biting down on his tongue, he couldn't help but notice that a part of her wasn't covered... Hell, she was completely bare! Iris' cheeks reddened even more when he caught himself staring. He tried to shut his eyes, but they only dragged back to meet the girl's. She was so... beautiful. No.. What's going on?

His consciousness tried pulling through, but everything was muted as he drowned in the overwhelming passion for this stranger.

Sensing his raging emotions, Maelle blinked and gave the boy a soft smile. "Well it's not polite to stare," she stated, as she turned around and walked to the table, sitting cross-legged on top of it. Her smile was warm and inviting. Still avoiding Iris' previous question, she reached her hand out to him.

"You are a very handsome one, you know," she smirked, shifting her gaze, more downward in a sense. After Maelle was certain he noticed, she blinked back up to meet his eyes. While their gazes were locked with each other, the shadows drew out of her eyes, revealing their true color. No longer were they solid black like a stereotypical demon, but they were a warm and inviting hazel color. She knew he saw this change, it wasn't subtle at all, but she did that on purpose. Making herself appear to be vulnerable, appear to be human, is how she lures them in.

Iris blinked once. Maybe twice. Staring into to suddenly hazel eyes of the girl, something was so alluring about her, reeling her in like a fish on a hook. He didn't know it, but he was soon stepping towards the outstretched hand, wanting so badly to feel her touch once again. Wait. his thoughts started pouring into his head, questions and unanswered questions coming to his conscious. Iris hesitated before taking the girl's hand, but the fire burning inside of him made it grab it, feeling the smooth skin of her palm. Iris could feel his thoughts tugging at his head, grasping for closure on the situation but nothing could stop him from staring into the eyes of this beautiful girl, this girl he wanted so badly...

THUMP.

The sound of a large object falling and smashing onto the ground filled the air. It appeared to be a large, porcelain vase that had been tipped over. Iris' head violently turned towards the noise, his mind snapping back into the real world.

"Whoo... *hic* goess'ere?" The rumbling voice of a man echoed through the hallway, slurred and almost impossible to understand. His footsteps were growing louder as the man approached the ballroom.

A mischievous smile grew upon Maelle's face. Her eyebrows raised playfully as she tugged on his arm. "Come on!" she whispered, and stood up. She danced across the room, her pets swirling around her, and even Iris. As she reached the end of the room, she ascended up the stairs, giggling. It wasn't an innocent giggle, or even a childish one. The sound of her laugh was one filled with temptation and meant to draw the young boy after her.

Maelle knew that the king was coming, and she didn't want to be discovered by him just yet. First she had to win over Iris. Make him truly fall for her, believe that she can do no wrong. Only once her name was locked into his heart, could she then begin her games with the king. Being the smart entity that she is, she knows that the king will be cautious of her being brought into the family, and given the darkness of her soul, or lack thereof, she knows that no matter what she does, Iris will defend her. That is, if she can make him believe she has only good intentions for his and his family's well-being.

Iris could recognize those footsteps an drunkard language anywhere - his father, King Bellamy, was getting close. A slight dread hung over him, until his attention snapped back to the dream that pulled him in. He felt a tug on his arm as the mysterious girl leaped off, leaving him breathless as her beautiful figure dashed off up the stairs. Almost instinctively Iris was pushed to follow her, the hesitation in his movements fading away as he ran to catch up. His legs worked hard, pushing off the endless stairs that continued to ascend upwards. The girl's pace up the stairs was effortless, her laugh still filling his ears like honey. The more he was filled, the more he wanted. The more he wanted, the more he needed.

Any normal boy could see the danger in this yearning behavior; the feeling of this wanting. But it appears that this young boy's delicate heart had fallen too far from his reasoning.
