Realistic or Modern Life Is Strange-inspired Mystery?

Quiet

Local Furry Goes 'Awoo'

Okay, so, I have this fantastic idea involving a group of High Schoolers banding together to solve a string of disappearances in their small town. The twist to these mysteries is that a rising number of citizens in town have been experienced "dreams" or "visions". Some of them show events in the future, such as the winning lottery number or someone narrowly being hit by a car. But others have been experiencing more sinister visions, such as the future victims that will disappear without a trace.

The citizens, being rational 21st Century humans, brush these off as only lucid dreams and the ones who speak up about this "Deja Vu" are met with strange looks. After all, the vision phenomenon only stays with a person for a few days. However, a group of young adults in town have elected to solve the mystery either on their own or in groups.

You all and myself will play the High School students who are attempting to solve the murder. Like most everyone else, they have been experiencing visions of the supposed kidnappings. However, as the Investigators have chosen to take part in the mystery, their visions had ceased and had been replaced with stranger phenomena; Superpowers like Time Reversal ala Max Caulfield or mild Pyrokinesis! These abilities make the investigation more interesting, as the Investigators must use their powers to solve puzzles custom tailored to them in order to get a leg up on the investigation! Investigators may also choose to pair up with other investigators or do the detective work on their own. It's up to them, really!

The other twist to this roleplay is that EVERYONE is a suspect. From the citizens around the town (NPCs), to the High School Teachers (NPCs), to even the Investigators themselves. In fact, before the roleplay begins, everyone playing an investigator will volunteer to be the culprit. The volunteered characters will be put in a randomized system with every other NPC in the story and the one chosen by the system will be the culprit behind the kidnappings. I will not tell you who is the culprit when they are chosen and neither will the culprit themselves.

If the Chosen Culprit is not someone under my control as a Moderator and Creator of this RP, the Culprit will PM me who they would like to kidnap, when they would like to kidnap, and why. Any and all details concerning the kidnapping will also be discussed so that I will be able to make a puzzle out of it for the other investigators. If you would also like to be a volunteer for the culprit, be sure to make a character in mind with a good reason to be the culprit. But don't be obvious!

Sound interested?

I am feeling very interested.

Kind of hoping there's no references to the actual game that I won't understand.

Oh, no, no. This RP and LiS don't take place in the same universe. It's just heavily inspired by the plot, style, and themes of the game.
