Realistic or Modern Life After The End

Allison didn't have to really go back to her room since she had her backpack and weapons already with her. She just starts heading towards the gates . When she gets there she sees Adam and smiles slightly before saying,"Let's go get a medical check-up so we can go." Allison saw almost anger on his face and she asks quickly, "Hey, are you okay?" She asks her voice a little quieter not really knowing what else she should say.

@Blizzard (sry for the short post, I don't know exactly what to write)

Adam watched Allison as she approached him, the anger he was feeling must've been showing on his face because she asked him if he was ok. He took a deep breath to calm himself down. He didn't think it would be any good to say anything. People here were trying to forget what happened and move on, he was still living in the past and still carried all it's regret. He didn't want to burden anyone else so he just nodded. "Yeah I'll be alright, thanks for asking though." He said, offering her what little smile he could muster. "Yeah lets go get our medical check-up and leave." They walked slowly towards the area where medics were.

He spotted Noah and walked towards him with Allison in tow, he liked Noah more than the other medics and thought that he was a cool person. "Hello Doc." Adam said as he came up to him. "We're about to leave so we're here for our routine check up." He then looked at Allison and said. "Even though I still don't understand why we have to go through this when we're leaving, we're going outside who cares if we're sick, we're not a danger to anyone out there." He then looked back at Noah. "But rules are the rules and follow them we shall. How was your morning Noah, hope all was good." He said as he stepped up to be checked first.

Remus had left the cafeteria earlier and was just in his lab writing his thesis for his next experiment, the first one met with inconclusive results. But he swore he was close, "just a little farther" he would tell himself. Its what the head researcher used to say during their experiments...he missed his old team. There were 8 of them including him. 4 male and 4 female, the ideal team really; he could remember all of their faces clearly, especially her. He shook his head, "cant reminisce, you know how you get." He went back to his report, trying to prevent himself from being distracted like that again, but he couldnt help but think about it.

He decided now would probably be a good time to wake up Kent, its been a little more than an hour and half now. "If the kid wants to talk to Carter then he better damn be ready when I wake up him up." Getting up he proceeded to the door, locking it behind him and making his way to his room.

He passed by several open classrooms, eachone humming with the bustle of busy workers, more than half the people he didnt even personally know. There were very few people he talked to, majority of the time it was because they initiated conversation with him, not the other way around. He didnt mind it though, it was hard for him to get attached to people now; and he preferred it that way, he didnt want to hurt again. Those he did talk to, they were nice to him, tolerable too. A few were younger so he would have to refer to them as kid or runt, if they make him upset it was child; he would tease them and just overall acted as the older sibling to them. It wasn't something he intended at first, it was just second nature to behave that way, he sighed, "well here's Kent's room." He gave the door a few hard knocks, "Kent its me Remus, come on lets head to the greenhouse."

Carter Leath

Carter finished up the pots she had been working on and aligned them up beside the other plants. She looked down at her watch and decided that it was about time for her to meet up with Kennedy. The teen slid off her garden gloves and hung them on a tiny black hook beside the door, and walked out the greenhouse humming sofftly, taking in the breeze that the outside offered. She looked around to see if Acey, but he wasn't, instead she saw Walkers clawing vilolently at the wired fence. She looked away, not wanting to trigger any bad memories from her past beyond the fence. The side of the builidng's grass was higher than she had ever seen it before in all her time at Branson, she would probably have to let the office know, as it had potential to hide snakes.

Carter reached the parking lot, scanning it a few times before her eyes finally landed on Kennedy. She raced towards her and grabbed her shoulder, attempting to frighten her bestfriend. "Hi there, Ms.Security. I'd like to report a Walker sighting at the side of the playground." she said, attempting to sound official,

Kent Mcfuller

All he could hear was screaming. Flashes of grey came and left his line of sight as the school bus rolled, causing diziness to course throughout Kent's body. It hadn't taken much to knock him out really, the cause of his knock out had only been one of Ms.Baxter's English textbooks flying from the side of the bus and targeting his temple just the right way. In his unconcious state, he hadn't even felt himself fly out the broken window beside him.

When he came to, anyone alive had already fled away from the scene of the wreck, anyone else was still in the bus. Briefly, Kent had wondered where the EMS was. Had no one called?

Kent woke up to Remus beating outside his room, nearly causing him to jump out his own skin. He got up quickly, throwing his blanket aside and rolling down the sleeves to his button up. "Hey man." he mumbled, sliding out the door. He directed himself towards the backyard area, putting his hand on his head and applying pressure, attempting anything to wash the nightmare away. Well.. more like memory. "Thanks for waking me up."

Ehmersen had been on her own for way to long, or though it seemed. In reality it had only been a few days, a week max. She hadn't been keeping count though. Her pack was nerly empty, just a few days of rations, her beloved picture and a few boxes of ammo. She had taken everything that Zane left. The thought of him hurt her heart, and tears pricked her golden eyes. He had sacrificed himself for her, once again. This time it was his last. She wiped the back of her hand across her nose and sniffled. She had been stalking towards some sort building for the last few days, since he left her alone. He had abandoned her, expected her to be able to survive alone, he might as well just killed her himself. Ehmersen had been watching and nimbly making her way through the outskirts of the woods and along the path to the building, it resembled a school but she couldn't be sure. Her twin Beretta 92FS hung to the curve of her ribs and the sway of her hips.

She was an average size girl, perhaps more curvy then most these days, Zane made sure she was fed well. Her ginger hair was tied messily atop her head and her thick rim glasses bounced upon the bridge of her nose. Before the world ended so terribly she was due for new glasses. Her lenses were heavily scratched and were barely beneficial at this point. The streets were getting more difficult to navigate alone, she was terribly direction-ally challenged, always getting turned around. She was tired, just looking for a place to sleep and get warm. Her body ached, her heart ached. Everything ached. She had been out of water for a few hours now and she was parched. The building was approaching quickly now. Her senses went into over drive as she knelt down behind a large tree a few hundred yards away from the school. There was a playground visible, and no walkers insight none that she could see or hear at least. She removed her glasses and tried to clean them with the torn and stained tank top she had on, it was pointless. She slid them back onto the bridge of her nose and blinked a few times trying to readjust her vision. With a sigh and a lot of effort she rose to her full height of 5'6" and quietly made her way to the front of the large building. She had learned to dampen the noise of her boots since the outbreak, and now her footsteps were almost inaudible. There was a large fence that stood in her way now. It appeared to surround the whole building. She examined it trying to find a place through, or over. "What the hell" She mumbled securing her pack on her back, and started to fumble up the wire fence.

Aside from the grim demeanor of the surrounding landscape, it was a surprisingly clear day. Partly cloudy, a warm breeze, just a nice summer day. It would've been the summer of Ken's junior year if the world was still humane. She would probably be swimming in the neighborhood pool with Carter right now or out at her Aunt and Uncle's beach house in Myrtle Beach. Instead, she was here, watching a vacant parking lot that used to be filled with parents coming to pick up or drop off their kids but are probably all now dead or eaten or.... one of them. There were a few cars but only runners were allowed to use them. Being on the security team could be such a bore sometimes. But she could think of nothing else she would be better at, and if it meant she could protect what was left of this small town, she didn't mind. She had the skills to be a runner or a hunter, but going outside terrified her, for various reasons. As dull as sitting outside in the scorching sun watching the concrete simmer might seem, she had ways to pass the time. Her main way to do just that was daydream, which was what she was doing now. Don't worry, she can keep a good eye out for trouble and think about things that are no longer possible at the same time.

She was deep in thought when someone grabbed her shoulder and jolted out of her daydream about her and Liam Hemsworth travelling the world together. She let out a small yelp of surprise and turned around to find Carter's evil grin greeting her. She laughed and playfully punched her shoulder. "Why does everyone call me that?? I'm not the only one on security, ya know!" she said. She mimicked Carter's official voice and replied, "I shall dispose of this creature at once. Have no fear ma-.... Hold up.... There's someone out there..." She pointed towards the fence where it appeared a young woman was beginning to climb the fence.

Remus looked at the sleepy man before him, "hell, you look like you had a terrible nap." He sighed and shook his head, "well I'm sure seeing Carter will fix you up...hopefully." He turned and gestured for Kent to follow, making his way to the green house, "I'm only gonna say this once Kent, you better not chicken out at talking to Carter, if you do I wont invite you to come with me again is that understood? You talk to her, even if it has nothing to do with how you feel you talk to her about anything. For right now were just gonna go ahead and build up your confidence." He continued in silence the rest of the way towards the green house, passing by other survivors both busy and relaxing. Some greeted him, he merely nodded his head and continued, again he wasnt too fond of talking to others he had no intention of talking to.

He stopped at glass door before him, "alright kid, clear your nerves, were goin in."

Kent Mcfuller

Kent nodded, squeezing his eyes shut and pinching the bridge of his nose attempting to send the migraine the dream had given to him away. He rarely even thought about the things that happened before they got to the shelter, and when he did, it nearly disabled him. The memories had been pushed back so far in Kent's brain that bringing them back could probably do him some real damage. He pretty much ignored Remus's perturing and continued out the door without hesitation, squinting in the sudden brightness. The playground was now laid out in front of him, with it's colorful swings and slides reflecting the sun. Usually, when he came out here there were kids playing, but today that wasn't the case. Now that he thought about it, there were hardly any kids at this place at all.

He took a right and walked over to the greenhouse, a wooden structure with white paint covering over it. Through the windows, he could clearly see that there was no one in it. "Remus, I thought it was Carter's shift. There's no one in there." he mumbled, a hint of irritation on his voice. He leaned up against the side of the greenhouse and brushed off his shorts, tugging his shirt down a bit. He looked up at Remus and waited for a solution.

Carter Leath

Carter's giggling seized once she looked up and saw what Kennedy had been talking about. "She's not a resident here." Carter noted, shaking her head in disbelief. The shelter had never been broken into and she didn't see why it was happening now. Her face turned grim, "I'm gonna run to the office and find someone, be careful!" Carter yelled, running towards the back part of the school. She wasn't allowed to take breaks unless authorized, which she hadn't been. So she'd have to come in through the back door to pretend she hadn't been hanging out with Kennedy when she was on the clock. As she made it to the back, she noticed Remus and Kent standing there. "Hey, Kent. Please don't tell the office I wasn't here, but there is someone up front climbing the wall. I left Kennedy there." she said, pointing to the front side of the building, hoping Kent was allowed to handle things like this.

Remus stood there, he could hear the irritation in Kents voice, he couldnt blame him, nor could he ignore the fact that Carter was taking an unauthorized break. "I know kid, I'll talk to her when I get the..." He didnt have time to finish his sentence for Carter appeared right before them. He listened intently and in silence for the first portion of her speech, but what concerned him was the last part. "Wait you left Kennedy there by herself when someone is breaking in? You know people dont normally break into an area full of people unless they got the weapons to take on the residents." He sighed with annoyance and moved past Carter, walking towards the position that she said she left Kennedy, "Kent you stay here, I'm gonna go have a look myself, make sure nothing else happens."

Remus started making his way over to Kennedy's position, feeling the pocket of his lab coat; sure enough he had his scapels and some syringes with concentrated sleeping medication in them.
