Let's Start a Band [Inactive]

Camryn blushed as he put his hand on hers. "Y-yeah, I spent all day in my garage making up new rythyms for potential songs. Not very good rythyms mind you, but..rythyms, nonetheless." She said.

"Well we'll probably need them. We're going to need all the rhythms and whatnot that we can get. To be honest with you... and please don't tease me for this... but I have big dreams. Maybe for this band, maybe not. But I want to be up on stage... In front of 300,000 screaming fans... Playing my heart out. That's what I want." Chase sparkled with excitement.

Macy genuinely smiled. "To be honest..that's what I dream of, too. I get teased at school because of it..nobody believes that I am a drummer...they think I'm too shy. But it's all i want in life. Be successful musician."

"It's good to know I'm not crazy then." Chase ran his hand through his hair and brushed it off to one side. "You haven't showed anyone your drumming? Well... I guess I'm not one to judge. I haven't really showed anyone my piano either. I'm self-taught so keeping it a secret isn't too difficult. I think we've got a shot at this. Don't you?"

Chase looked back at her. "Well I have confidence in the two of us at least." His voice dropped to a low whisper. "I hope we can have the same confidence in the others." He gave her a wink.

She laughed a little. "Yeah.." She felt less awkward around Chase now. Maybe it wasn't that hard to open up after all..or maybe she just..nah, she didn't have a chance anyway..

Chase smiled and looked around the cafe, as if looking for something, though he wasn't looking for anything in particular. He hadn't gotten a girl to laugh in years.

'Maybe there's something special going on here...' He thought. 'Whoa, Chase. Don't get ahead of yourself here. You don't want to screw things up like.. Like last time.' His smile flickered with self-doubt, but only for a second.

Camryn tugged at her sleeves and looked down. Don't get too attached to him...once he finds out the truth about you, he'll never want to talk to you again..not knowing what you did to yourself..not if he knew why you wear bracelets and long sleeves..

Chase sighed in frustration. The reason for this sigh was because he hated wrestling with his emotions, especially when those emotions dealt with girls. He soon, however, discovered that he had sighed out loud and everyone was now looking at him. Thinking quickly, he managed to say, "Any idea when we're going to get started? I'm getting somewhat tired of waiting."

'Huh.' he thought. 'I didn't know I could do that.'

Snapping out of her own relationship related thoughts, Camryn looked up. "Uh...where exactly are we going to be practicing..? I mean, we could go to my place, my drums are in my garage anyway.."

Chase shrugged indifferently. "Sounds good to me. Unless you guys have any better ideas. Do you have any keys there or should I bring my own?"

"I brought my car because I can't really carry my key board on my own." Chase said with a sheepish grin. "You want a ride? The others can catch up with us later. Or we can catch up with them... Which ever comes first."

'Wow! Driving her home already!' Chase smirked to himself, then he shook the thought out of his head. That was not a great thing to be thinking. He still knew he had no chance whatsoever and it would be best if he was as un-aggressive as possible.

"Only if you... You know... Feel comfortable doing so of course. I could understand that, what with us just having met and all. But you're more than welcome to ride along. It's that... Errr... Beat up looking car in the corner parking space." Chase rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Hey... Thanks. Seems like everyone I know drives a super nice car. It's sometimes easy to forget that all that really matters is that you get from point A to point B." Chase wiggled the key into the lock until a clinking noise was heard. He then walked over to the passenger's side and opened it for Camryn.

Camryn slid into the passenger seat, thanking Chase. "Yeah..the popular kids sometimes drive past me in their sports cars and stuff and throw stuff at me.."

Chase adjusted the rear-view mirror and started the engine, which sputtered and then groaned begrudgingly to life.

"They throw stuff at you? You're not serious are you? Because that's..." He shook his head. "That's awful."

Camryn shrugged. "You get used to it..it's the high school food chain and I'm at the bottom. Even the 'nerds' have friends.." She sighed.

"How come though? I mean... You're talented, you're pretty, you're sweet... What's not to like?" Chase pulled to a stop in front of a red light.

Camryn blushed, hiding behind her hair. "I'm not pretty..." She muttered. "They pick on because I'm a loser. And besides, I'm too nice. A jock punched me one time and complained about the blood on his hand, and I said SORRY."

Chase was silent for a moment, then he sighed.

"People suck. People suck a lot," He spun the wheel in a right turn.

"Just make sure... Make sure you know that what people think of you..." He paused trying to phrase his words right.

"Please don't be defined by what idiots tell you you are. I've only known you for thirty minutes and I know you're more than that. Some of the best books I've read have had beaten up and tattered covers." He gave her a smile.

She blushed again. Damn it, stop blushing, you don't have a chance. "Thanks. I've only known you for like thirty minutes and you're the nicest person I know.." She sighed. "I really wish they wouldn't do that stuff to me though..it's bad enough that they tease me, but they fricking abuse me. Its bull. All of it..but..I can't even tell them to stop. I refuse to think that they don't have a reason...I can't stand up for myself.."
