falling for you™
let's split up gang!
Crystal Cove, a hidden gem in picturesque Maine. Well, maybe not so hidden. It is a popular vacation destination for those interested in haunted houses and genuine ghost stories. The whole town is seeped in stories of the occult and things straight out of a book. The place seems to almost perpetually to be in a state of autumn, outside of winter, making people truly believe it is a haunted town. But the residents of Crystal Cove seem to just accept their day-to-day haunts and embrace them. Tours, festivals, celebrations, merchandise, it’s all available within every shop. Scared of the Howler getting you? Don’t worry, there are certified anti-Howler ear muffs available at Jeepers Creepers Emporium! See, there’s nothing to really fear as long as you follow the locals' instructions and don’t do anything to disrupt the particular way of life.
But some people aren’t so lucky… You see, over ten years ago a woman by the name of Abigail Collins arrived in Crystal Cove, a camera around her neck, a flashlight in one hand, and a tape recorder in the other, prepared to document all the mysteries that Crystal Cove had to offer. She was rather successful, so successful that she ran her own column in the local newspaper, sharing her stories and new mysteries that she was discovering. Mrs. Collins even put out ads for her services, offering to help people plagued with strange occurrences in their day-to-day lives. Everything was going well for her and her presence in the town caused more tourists to show up, excited that someone outside of Crystal Cove was confirming the existence of ghosts and ghouls. Now remember, her story is not a lucky one.
One particular day, Mrs. Collins decided that she would be investigating The Werewolf, one of the most dangerous ghouls to exist in Crystal Cove. Off to the woods she went, prepared to photograph the monster and show that the woods were not safe and needed to be treated with respect. Unbeknownst to her, a group of children followed her, curious about their favorite mystery solver in action. But those woods, hold more than just the Werewolf. Screams of terror filled those woods, causing Mrs. Collins to make a fatal mistake as she ran towards the sounds of children crying, she ignored the werewolf. The beast, as everyone in Crystal Cove knows, attacks and kills those who ignore his howls. Fangs and claws ended the woman’s life right there in the woods, and it didn’t take long for her murder to make headlines all across Maine.
What happened to the group of kids? Well, they all survived their encounters with the monsters of the woods and once they reached high school, they formed the famous Mystery Incorporated, a business that solved mysteries and helped bring in the tourism in the absence of Mrs. Collins. The teens were incredibly successful, their website constantly getting hits and requests, even for mysteries outside of their town. But something happened towards the end of their junior year of school and the group disbanded. The Mystery Machine became just a van that was driven to school and their website was put on an indefinite hiatus. With murders and no mystery solvers, Crystal Cove’s tourism boom slowed down and now only has a busy season between September and October. And Mystery Inc.? Well, they all stayed in town, just not exactly together.
Until today of course. A strange newcomer arrived in town with a checkbook in hand and a stack of files. “I am hiring Mystery Incorporated to solve these mysteries. It’s time to bring the group back together.” Not ones to turn down truly good mysteries, and money, the gang once again went back into business, the familiar van making its debut in the center of town, its passengers ready to make their comeback to mystery solving.

Available Roles!
Fred Jones!
• The leader of Mystery Incorporated and son of the Mayor, he was always the first to come up with traps and plans to catch a ghost or ghoul, excited to see if it was a true mystery or just a mask. He was one of the children who was attacked in the forest all those years ago, and still suffers from the side effects! When in the woods, he was attacked by a genuine ghost that semi-attached itself to him, causing minor supernatural things to happen around him. He often brushes it aside as weird coincidences, but he is genuinely being haunted!
Shaggy Rogers!
• The glutton and resident scaredy-cat, he was often put in charge of gathering equipment for each mystery-solving adventure. He knows his way with computers and surprisingly is a relatively good videographer, even though he's usually running away from the ghosts. As one of the children who was attacked in the forest, Shaggy has scars to prove it. The Howler found Shaggy and snatched him off the forest floor, determined to kill him! This encounter has left him with hand-print scars on his neck and a phobia of anything around his neck.
Scooby-Doo!
• Shaggy's other half, they are best friends and Scooby is the other resident glutton. He has all the menus mesmerized and tends to steal Shaggy's food because just one portion is never enough. Though a scaredy-cat like Shaggy, Scooby is often quite brave and surprisingly will help Fred with the traps and getting the ghosts into them! He makes for fabulous bait after all. His experience in the woods, all those years ago, was with the Nightmare Witch! Her cackle was enough to make Scooby's hair stand up as he ran as fast as he could! But that witch cast a spell on him, yes she did. Attempting to steal his youth, she left the child with greying hair and a weak immune system.
The Stranger!
• She came into town on September 28th, a particularly dark and stormy day. With a checkbook in one hand and multiple mystery files in the other, she decided to track down the disbanded group of mystery solvers and hired them. Now the catch is she must be present during the mystery solving, mostly to ensure that these are indeed genuine mysteries or truly just stories put on by actors. Nobody knows where she came from, but what she's prying into is a little more interesting than who she is, at least to the gang. (Please PM me about this role so you can get the background information)
The Tour Guide!
• She is one of the employees at the Crystal Cove Museum of Monsters and Mysteries and primarily handles their tours when the owners aren't feeling up for it. She is pretty knowledgeable about most of the mysteries of Crystal Cove due to the nature of her job but she rarely looks to question if they are true or not. Sure, she will always say she's seen the Siren sitting on the rocks or she's seen the pirates running through town, but she really hasn't. But that doesn't mean she won't jump at the opportunity to help Mystery Inc. out with their investigations!
The Journalist!
• With the absence of Mystery Inc. and other paranormal investigators, she has fully taken over the Crystal Cove Newspaper with her own findings and opinions. She has been making up more paranormal activity in town as an attempt to bring in more tourists, trying to hide the fact that the town is suffering during the off-season. Because of this, many people have been actually impersonating the ghosts and ghouls she writes about as everyone locally knows they are just stories. Will she get caught by Mystery Inc? Will she stop writing false stories? Or will she try and use her skills to help the gang find out what they need to know?
The Radio Host!
• A skeptic, he is someone who moved to Crystal Cove in high school, during the peak of Mystery Inc.'s activity. From the very beginning, he found the gang to be a nuisance in town, not believing in the 'silly little ghost stories' that they were looking into. After Mystery Inc. disbanded, this man took it upon himself to expose Crystal Cove and started his own radio show called No Ghouls where he often talks about the 'lies' of the town and how he wants to expose it all. He is very adamant about stopping Mystery Inc. from providing any additional mysteries because he will look rather silly if there are ghosts and ghouls.
The Officer!
• He works for the local police and often gets minor calls that don't matter that much. That is until Mystery Inc started to work again! He is constantly sent out to prevent the gang from investigating any paranormal phenomenon, especially if it's anything new! He has caught them for trespassing and while he can't do much due to the Mayor having charges dropped, he still is always on the lookout for the gang. The constant presence of someone preventing them from investigating has made Mystery Inc. even more difficult to handle!
