Fantasy Let’s get writing—Jules’ search for writing partners

Jules.

New Member
Heya!

Thanks for coming to take a look through my post! I’ll try to make this short and to the point, but you can call me Jules.

I’m back after some time away looking for some new partners, my free time has upped and I’ve been dying to put my energy back into writing again.

About me:

-I’m freshly 30, so I will only rp with people 21+.
-I’m in EST, and I’m usually more active in the afternoon/evening.
-I do my best to get at least 2-3 replies out per week, it could be more if I have the time, but I’m usually available to chat ooc at any time. Please forgive me if I don’t get back to you right away. Sometimes I’m in the middle of something when I get a message and I set it aside to reply later but I end up forgetting for a few hours. But I will inform you if I’m going to be away for more than a few days. Feel free to poke me if I’ve been silent for more than a few days without notice!
-My average post length is anywhere from 500-1000+ words. I enjoy lengthy posts sometimes, but honestly I just write what the situation calls for. As long as I have something to reply to and we are moving forward I’m happy, I just ask for no one liners please! Quality over quantity.
-Ghost friendly. Life happens, I get it, no worries.
-I’m happy to use rpn or discord, I can reply faster via discord but just staying on-site is fine too. Let me know your preference!
-I’m open to any romance pairing. Just please let me know what pairing you prefer.
-I’m a sucker for romance, I like to include it in the rp, but I’m more for our characters slowly falling in love over the course of the story. We love a happy ending, but sometimes we have to give them some bumps along the way, angst and drama are always fun.
-I’m more than happy to provide writing samples, feel free to ask. (:

What I’m looking for:

So right now I’m currently looking to work in fantasy settings, any kind really. Medieval, modern, honestly whatever. I’m also down to do modern plots as well, if you have any ideas there I’d love to hear them! I do have a few small plot ideas, they are fairly simple but I did it that way so we could both have an opportunity to shape the story. I love hearing my partner’s ideas!

Plots:

In the mystical realm of Rovia, a delicate peace hangs by a thread as the five kingdoms—Virelia, Eboncrest, Thalor, Serendell, and the wild territories of the Drakemounts—vie for dwindling resources and territory. Each kingdom is represented by elite dragon riders who have sworn an oath to protect their homeland, their bonds with their dragons forged through centuries of tradition. However, tensions reach a boiling point when a covert assassination attempt is made on King Elion of Thalor during the annual meeting of kings, igniting suspicion and animosity among the realms.

As accusations fly and alliances crumble, a dragon egg from Thalor goes missing amidst the chaos, further deepening the mistrust. Each kingdom suspects the others of foul play, spiraling the realm towards inevitable war. In Virelia, Muse A is a young blacksmith, an orphan raised on tales of dragons and adventure, stumbles upon the stolen egg hidden in a secluded glen. Ignoring the dangers, Muse A, fueled by a sense of destiny, decides to hatch the egg. To their astonishment, the egg does indeed hatch, a bond ignited between them.

As news spreads about the missing egg, Muse A becomes a target of suspicion from the dragon riders of Virelia, who believe they may be involved in the assassination plot. Desperate to protect the hatchling, Muse A flees towards the Drakemounts, where they hope to find refuge. Along the way, they encounter Muse B, a rogue dragon rider from Serendell who has also been searching for the truth behind the assassination attempt. Muse B is intrigued by Muse A’s determination and the bond with the small dragon, and together, they form an unlikely alliance.

As they traverse the treacherous lands between kingdoms, the two of them unearth a deeper conspiracy orchestrated by a shadowy faction seeking to ignite war among the kingdoms for their own gain. With time running out, they must gather allies, navigate treacherous terrain, and face betrayal from unexpected sources.

Their journey leads them to the heart of the Drakemounts, where they uncover the truth about the stolen egg and the identity of the true mastermind behind the chaos—a disgraced former dragon rider with a vendetta against the kings.

In a race against time, they rally dragon riders from all kingdoms, urging them to unite against a common enemy and restore balance to Rovia. As the threat of war looms ever closer, they must confront their fears, challenge their loyalties, and ultimately decide whether their burgeoning bond is strong enough to withstand the flames of conflict.

(This plot will have us playing multiple characters, not all at once, but we will have a decent cast here. Lowkey inspired by the song ‘Would you fall in love with me again’, I’ve just been obsessed with the idea of two people being separated and doing everything in their power to get back to each other again 🥺)

In the sprawling kingdom of Valoria, Muse A, a young king known for his strategic brilliance and benevolent rule, leads his army to battle against a long-standing rival, the kingdom of Drakhar. As the war rages on the outskirts of Valoria, a treacherous betrayal within his ranks leaves Muse A severely injured and presumed dead. The news of his demise spreads swiftly, sending shockwaves throughout his kingdom and leaving it vulnerable.

As Valoria mourns, Muse B, Muse A’s devoted and astute wife, is determined to hold the kingdom together amid the chaos. Not believing that her husband is truly dead. With a cunning political mind, she navigates the treacherous waters of court politics to maintain a semblance of stability. Under her clandestine leadership, she forms a secret resistance to battle the encroaching invaders and traitors within the court.

Meanwhile, amidst the aftermath of the battle, Muse A, faintly clinging to life, is discovered by Muse C, a fiercely loyal knight and his closest confidant. Muse C, a man of noble heart and unmatched skill, nurses the king back to health. The duo, disguised as commoners, embark on a perilous journey home, traversing hostile territories and evading forces intent on ensuring Muse A never returns.

Their journey is fraught with danger and unexpected alliances. Along the way, they encounter Muse D, a fierce and resourceful rebel leader from a small village ravaged by war, who becomes an invaluable ally. Her knowledge of the land and fierce independence prove crucial as they face enchanted forests, marauding foes, and the cunning forces of Drakhar, who are relentless in their pursuit.

Back in Valoria, Muse B’s situation becomes increasingly precarious as the invading army seeks to control not just the kingdom, but her heart. The enemy's commander, Lord Varric, a man of charming demeanor but ruthless ambition, sees in her an opportunity to legitimize his claim by forcing her into marriage. Despite the insurmountable pressure, she works tirelessly, inspiring her people through coded messages and secret gatherings, ensuring the spirit of Valoria remains unbroken.

As Muse A, C, and D draw closer, they face a decisive challenge: a final battle not just for the kingdom but for the heart and soul of their people. With newfound allies and renewed strength, the king leads a rebellion from the shadows, orchestrating a masterful plan to outwit Varric's forces.

Can they pull it off and push out the enemies from the kingdom and bring peace once again before they are found out? Will the king and queen reunite once again?

(Beauty and the Beast trope but with vampires)

In the heart of the untamed Carpathian Mountains during the late 19th century, lies the forgotten village of Velhoak. The village, eternally shrouded in mist and mystery, is nestled in the shadow of Darkmore Castle, a looming fortress once home to a lineage of powerful nobility. Legend whispers that the castle—and its inhabitants—were cursed, turned into creatures of darkness over a century ago.

As the harsh winter solstice approaches, a young, spirited healer Muse A arrives in Velhoak searching for rare herbs to develop a remedy for a plague sweeping their hometown. Independent and courageous, Muse A fascinates the villagers with their kindness, a stark contrast to the mourning air surrounding Darkmore Castle.

One fateful evening, while gathering herbs in the forest, Muse A becomes ensnared in an unexpected blizzard. Disoriented and on the verge of freezing, they stumbled upon the gates of Darkmore Castle. The castle, shrouded in legend and feared by all, is said to be inhabited by Muse B, the last of the cursed bloodline. Rumors paint them as a ferocious vampire, but none have seen them and lived to tell the tale.

Against all odds, Muse B rescues Muse A, bringing them into the warmth and eerie beauty of their ancient abode. Instead of the beastly terror that folklore foretold, Muse A finds a tragic figure, bound to immortality and tormented by the monstrous nature imposed upon them. Muse B, having long forsaken human companionship, is captivated by Muse A’s spirit and humanity.

Despite their tentative friendship, the villagers’ fear and suspicion of Darkmore begin to grow. Oblivious to the true nature of their relationship, they believe Muse A to be under a sinister enchantment. Meanwhile, Muse A discovers that the castle’s curse can only be lifted by a power greater and more complex than she imagined: genuine love that transcends the boundaries of darkness and light.

As the bond between Muse A and B deepens, so does the danger surrounding them. An ancient vampire hunter, sworn to destroy Darkmore forever, arrives in Velhoak, seeking to eliminate Muse B and save what he believes is a bewitched Muse A. Tensions rise, and Muse A must decide whether breaking Muse B’s curse is worth sacrificing their human life, while Muse B grapples with risking eternal damnation or the salvation of their soul through love.

When city-dweller Muse A, a charming but overworked graphic designer(this can be changed to a different profession), decides to leave behind their fast-paced life, they move to a quaint countryside home for some much-needed solitude and relaxation. The picturesque stone cottage, surrounded by rolling hills and dense woodlands, seems like the perfect escape. Yet, unbeknownst to Muse A, the small, idyllic town they’ve moved to has long been a haven for supernatural creatures hiding in plain sight.

Muse B, the caretaker for the property, is a peculiar but kind individual who helps Muse A settle in. Always dressed a bit too impeccably for gardening work and occasionally vanishing before sunset, Muse B is harboring a secret: they aren't human. Perhaps they’re a near-immortal fae tied to the land, a shape-shifter, or a benevolent house spirit bound to the estate. Either way, their true nature is concealed behind their otherworldly charm and an almost uncanny knack for fixing anything that goes wrong around the house.

Initially unaware of the supernatural nature of the town—and Muse B—Muse A becomes increasingly attached to this strange but comforting world. From kind neighbors who seem far too spry for their advanced age, to local animals with an unsettling habit of understanding human speech, small mysteries begin to pile up around them. Muse A's initial skepticism gives way to a sense of wonder as they unravel the unique quirks of the town and its inhabitants.

Muse B, meanwhile, grows unexpectedly fond of Muse A. Having lived for centuries among supernatural beings, Muse B finds Muse A's vibrant humanity refreshing. Muse B struggles with whether or not to reveal their true nature, hesitant to risk scaring Muse A away.

The balance tips one stormy night when Muse A ventures into the forest after hearing strange noises. Lost and terrified, they stumble upon a surreal sight: glowing will-o’-wisps leading them to a grove where Muse B, in their true form, emerges from the shadows to protect them from a rogue enchanted creature that slipped into Elmshade unnoticed.

Caught in the act, Muse B can no longer hide their true nature. Muse A is dumbstruck but curiously unafraid—their intuition had whispered to them all along that there was more to Elmshade, and Muse B, than met the eye. Muse B, fearing Muse A might flee or alert other humans, prepares for the worst, but Muse A surprises them by asking thoughtful, careful questions. Their curiosity and open-mindedness catch Muse B off guard, and for the first time in a long while, they wonders if perhaps this human could belong in their world.

The unexpected drama comes from an outside force—a human stranger who stumbles into the supernatural town and could inadvertently reveal its secret to the wider world. Muse A and Muse B must work together to protect the community while navigating their growing bond and the complexities it brings.

(I have a ton of world building and lore for this plot, I’ve been sitting on it for a while and I’m always interested in using it!)

Two kingdoms, separated by a vast sea, stand on the brink of change. The Kingdom of Aethel, a formidable land of dragon riders, is ruled by the stoic King Aric and his fiery heir, Muse A. Their dragons, majestic beasts forged in fire and trust, are their might. Aethel’s people, a mix of farmers and skilled artisans, have a deep reverence for their dragons and unwavering loyalty to the crown. Across the ocean lies the opulent Kingdom of Thalassa, ruled by Queen Elara and her enigmatic heir, Muse B, known for their mastery of the seas and rumored whispers of ancient magic. Thalassa's wealth and naval prowess are unparalleled, but their people, accustomed to luxury and privilege, often feel disconnected from their rulers.

A catastrophic storm, fueled by a mysterious, ancient magic, threatens both kingdoms. The storm devastates Aethel's fields, while Thalassa's ships are crippled. This dire situation forces Aric and Elara to negotiate a treaty. A marriage between their children, Muse A and B, is proposed as a symbol of unity and a pact to share knowledge and resources.

Muse A, a fierce dragon rider who dreams of leading their people into a golden age, is skeptical of the treaty. They have no desire to marry a stranger, especially one from a kingdom known for its wealth and mysterious magic. They fear that the marriage will only serve to further divide the two kingdoms.

Muse B, quiet and introspective, possesses a gift for the sea, a powerful magic whispered to be a gift from the goddess Thalassa. They feel burdened by their royal lineage and the expectations placed upon them. Their encounters with Muse A, however, awaken a spark of curiosity and a yearning for something beyond the confines of their royal life.

As the two of them navigate their arranged marriage, they uncover a long-forgotten secret. An ancient prophecy predicts a union of sky and sea, a powerful alliance that can either save or destroy the world. The prophecy, however, warns of a malevolent force, a dark entity that seeks to exploit the union for its own destructive ends. The dark entity, a forgotten god of storms and chaos, has been manipulating events from the shadows, seeking to sow discord between the kingdoms. It possesses the power to control the storms and twist the magic of Thalassa, threatening both kingdoms with destruction.

But as they dig deeper in trying to find a way to stop the forgotten god, Muse B admits they’ve been keeping a secret, the magic they had been blessed with is waning. Now they have to find a way to return Muse B’s magic to normal while trying to save their kingdoms from destruction. Can they figure out a way to save their family and the people of their kingdoms? Or will time run out and will the world be brought into ruin and war?
